Where are we going with this?

Ever read a book that was going somewhere and nowhere all at the same time? This is how I feel about this story.

There are so many loose ends dangling and stories half told. Some could easily be written as a separate story, but others not so much.

Give it a chance if you've been reading the series, which this is best read as of my the way, you may catch something maybe I missed. But it just feels like there was just too much that had potential and just dropped.

On the Case for a Killer . . .

Sadie is the peacekeeper on the island of supernaturals, and she continues to deal with constant trouble she seems incapable of avoiding. In fact, it seems to follow her around! When she died for a short time, another peacekeeper was brought in and now they have two with Ryder and Miller being split up as guardians with one to each peacekeeper. A dispute on the far side of the main island threatens to become violent, but by the time Sadie and her guardian Ryder arrive, it seems that they are too late. The warring neighbors insist they have no knowledge how a dead body appeared at the base of the cliffs near their property, but it’s clear that someone does! Sadie is quickly realizing that there are more secrets hidden around this island than she first knew, and the more you know, the more in danger you are in. Can she find the killer amid all this confusion?

This was another enjoyable story where we watch Sadie, Miller, and Ryder trying to straighten things out. Grab your copy and find out how their situation can be resolved!

A Fun Exciting Paranormal Cozy Mystery!!!

Witch Way Down is the sixth book in the Hallow Haven Witch Mysteries series and it is the first book that I read by Mara Webb and I really enjoy it, even though this book can be read as standalone I plan to go back and start reading this series from Book 1.

Sadie Alden is a resident peacekeeper and owns a beach side café on a remote island of Hallow Haven. Her cousin, Greta, is the old peacekeeper who is killed so Sadie has the responsibility of peacekeeper that were passed down through her witches family. She has two guardians, Ryder and Miller. Miller is a werewolf, a town sheriff and also Sadie's boyfriend, Ryder is a werewolf hunter.

When Sadie died for a bit during the drowning incident, it activated another peacekeeper so now there are 2 peacekeepers and one of the guardian will have to go with the new peacekeeper. When Mabel, the new peacekeeper arrives and Miller is assigned to be with her that's left Sadie with Ryder. When there is a dispute on the far side of the main island between the two neighbors and a dead body is found at the base of the cliffs near their property, Sadie and Ryder need to investigate to figure out who is the killer and the more they dig the more they find out of more secrets hidden around the island

This is a fun lighthearted paranormal cozy mystery in a nice setting on an island paradise so it's beautiful and Fitz, Sadie's talking cat familiar is cute. it’s an enjoyable fast-paced story full of actions, humor, mystery, paranormal and romance. I recommend this book to any paranormal cozy mystery fans.

Entertaining supernatural cozy mystery series

This is an entertaining supernatural cozy mystery series. A great cast of characters with an entertaining storyline. Sadie grew up in the normal world and if someone in her mid to late 20s. After breaking up with her boyfriend and trying to figure out what she wanted to do next in life. She thought about opening up a little café somewhere. She found an ad for a small café on a tropical island at a really good price. She ended up buying it leaving the mainland behind and moving to the little small tropical island. Once she arrived she soon found out there was much more to it than that. Destiny had been checked into place and magic was involved. The café belong to a cousin she did not even know she had. Her cousin was the peacekeeper on this small set of tropical islands where supernaturals lived. Now Sadie is the peacekeeper responsible for all of the supernatural going on around the island. There is some tourist travel to the island by other supernatural and humans and there is a police force to take care of that. She works with the police officer who is also her guardian to deal with all the odd and supernatural mysteries and crimes. There are different kinds of supernatural is on the island including shifters vampires werewolves and witches fairies and a few others. It is a very entertaining and eclectic said her stories they will entertain you. Check it out

This story and series are one big conundrum. Each time something starts to make sense on the islands, something else happens to twist the story even further. The character building in these stories is wonderful. There is a huge array of personalities with a variety of paranormal abilities along with a few ghosts along the way that only certain people can see. The whole concept of having a peacekeeper for the area that is an inherited position when the previous peacekeeper dies is unique enough without adding in the guardian and every other strange occurrence. Great world-building and one of the twistiest stories that I have ever had the benefit of reading. I just hate the ending with unresolved items so that I cannot wait to read the next one. Quite addictive.

More secrets and more murder. I think our heroine is getting fed up with both.

This is book six of the series, but it works just fine as a standalone.

This is a cozy witch mystery with a very nice tropical setting. The story is well written, easy to read with a great setting filled with mystery and intrigue. The characters are well developed and definitely the star of the show as they bring all the action, mystery and humor to the fore. And they just get better with each new book. The mystery is also a good one with enough twists and turns to keep the reader entertained. Overall, another great entry in the series and I look forward to seeing more.

Highly recommended.

Sadie is the peacekeeper on the island, handed down when her cousin passed. Her two protectors are Miller - her boyfriend/sheriff/werewolf and Ryder - werewolf hunter. When she stops breathing for a bit, the next peacekeeper is activated and assigned to Miller, so they have been separated a bit. Now the murder mystery kicks in and two families are arguing about how it happened next to their properties. Sadie and Ryder start to dig for clues and they find so much more.
The characters are fun and overwhelmed and even her cat familiar gets into it. So many rules and twists are thrown into the mix. The storyline goes into several directions, but it all comes together at the end. Very well done.

Sadie had drowned. She died. So, she she died (even if was for a very short time) a new peacekeeper was activated (like in Buffy the Vampire Slayer.)

So, what do you do with two peacekeepers? Especially when one of them loves to talk. Constantly.

Then there's the matter of which one she will be assigned to. Miller or Ryder?

Then you have the ghost Greta. Whose family, all ghosts, show up.

There's also the bureaucrat who tells Sadie that she has to give up Miller or Ryder as her guardian so that Mabel can have her own guardian.

All of which will cause tension between Miller and Ryder. Just what Sadie needs.

Of course you have a murder to add to all the things she's going through.

It's not going to be a fun time for Sadie.

Another really good book in the series.

This is the first book I’ve read by this author, and I have mixed feelings about it. The writing isn’t as refined as more established cozy authors, but it was definitely readable. The plot and pacing were decent. The characters were a mixed bag….certain characters felt overused but somehow also underdeveloped. I will give the first book a chance, as this may just be a fluke in the series. I’m hoping so, because there is clearly potential for the characters and their storylines. Readable as a standalone, but probably better in proper series order.

a brief death calls a new peacekeeper, and an interfering council member puts her with her beau

complicated connections lead a wildlife photographer to greedy folks and dangers

what sort of icy connections does Ryder have?

a shady therapist gets thrown into the mix thanks to Kate. what game is she playing, and for whom and what stakes?

Sadie and her friends and family have lots of craziness ahead- looking forward to them unpacking it

Ok so this series is just one of my favorites, due to some down fall in my health after the first and now the second doses of my covid vaccine and a new job with a killer sechudel to boot it, well besides the husband and kids, I got a tad behind on my reading and reviews...but I just had to read this one and I absolutely loved it, I just can't say enough that I love Sadie and Co., they are wonderful and the stories are just a must read. Since dying briefly, Sadie is now sharing her peacekeeper role with someone else, with one guardian assigned to each of them. When a body is discovered at the base of the cliffs and foul play is indicated, Sadie manages to figure out who the killer is. Book is best enjoyed if other books in this awesome series have been read.

Hard to put down

I had to force myself to put this book down so I could get some sleep. It was that good! Sadie is going through some crazy things and it just gets even more intense as the days go by. There are a lot of unanswered questions, so I really can’t wait to read the next book!
