Sex sells. Chase Rodgers has based her entire career as a romance novelist on that exact premise. She’s one of the best in the business at making a reader’s pulse race. This is precisely why she is called in to consult on a novel that can’t quite manage to get it up.

Despite building his career on carefully crafted, suspenseful thrillers, Evan Stineman has no clue how to harness his character’s sexuality in his upcoming novel. Increasingly desperate as his deadline looms, he has no other choice but to accept a helping hand from a pro.

When Chase and Evan meet, their chemistry is immediate and undeniable. The two novelists embrace their mutual attraction to get Evan’s new book off to the publisher with a newfound sex appeal.

As Evan finally starts to open up to Chase, an unwelcome visitor returns from his past. Will this surprise appearance derail all their plans, or will he don his trusty black leather pants and manage to get the girl?

Find the funny in your life.

That’s what EL Koslo strives to do in her life every day. She spent her youth with her nose in a book, often conjuring up storylines in a composition notebook she hid under her mattress. Her love of writing continued on through high school as she served on the school paper and wrote poetry for the literary magazine.

At University, she studied Art and Art History where she met her own prince charming after kissing a few frogs, of course.

Her love of reading and writing have been a constant in her life with her nose always buried in a book, tablet, or computer—both writing and reading.

She resides in the Midwest United States with her husband and four rambunctious children. Her days are filled with driving kids to school, activities, and sports; frequently squeezing writing time in while waiting in the carpool line.

Koslo’s characters are often developed while running on the treadmill at the gym, and she has a DVR full of Hallmark movies.

Her debut novel, Foreplay on Words, combines her love of steamy romance, awkward but loveable leading males, and headstrong heroines with a dash of humor and a little bit of kink.

Not gonna lie I was expecting more from this book. I was expecting angst and steam and some work since one character was awkward and the other more free but what I got was so surface level and flat and after they got together so damn fast it was actually boring.. not for me so DNF @25%

My reader friends, I am experiencing hypothermia from the number of cold showers I’ve subjected myself to during my reading of Foreplay on Words by E. L. Koslo. This book is hot, y’all. Like Stefon says, this book has everything: oral sex, shower sex, bondage, pegging, anal, handcuffs, spanking, naked cooking, sex toys...it has it ALL.

A little bit of plot: Chase is a romance writer who tends to steer more toward the erotic; Evan sticks primarily to crime and mystery thrillers creating storylines that do not lend to a romantic subplot. Unfortunately, Evan’s new novel is suffering with uninspired, boring, and dare I say, almost clinical bedroom escapades. Enter Chase, sensual author extraordinaire, to offer her ‘expertise’ in bringing some blood roaring back into these very flaccid scenes. Both quickly realize that their collaboration on page isn’t the only thing bringing the heat; one searing kiss leads to a partnership not only in publication but the bedroom as well. “Using provocative words, describing a sensation...you want them to be picturing the act as it unfolds.' Her voice took on a breathy quality, and I pictured some things I wanted to unfold with her.”

The chemistry between Chase and Evan is palpable. Evan suffers from severe anxiety and is often caught in what he considers to be ‘awkward staring’ and a loss for words. Upon meeting Chase, he quickly overcomes these social stumblings and finds confidence through sexy banter and flirtation. “I loved listening to her laugh. She made me feel funny, charming in a way I hadn’t felt in a long time. It was easy to just say what I was thinking to her without worrying about filtering it.” Evan’s verbal stumbling and staring are definitely awkward, however, his character is so charming in it’s almost guilelessness - like Chase, you feel an instant draw to him. Also, he sounds pretty frickin hot, so there’s that. Plus, strong, silent type? Yes, please.

Another aspect of this novel that I enjoyed was the positive view Koslo has of adventurous sex and the willingness to experiment in a safe environment. Chase enjoys sex and isn’t afraid to push herself outside of her comfort zone to reach a heightened experience. For example, for her previous novels, Chase researched dominant and submissive culture first hand in order to bring an authentic voice to her characters and storylines. For Evan’s current novel, she encourages him to reenact certain scenes, which allows him to visualize, experience, and understand the emotions in order to add depth and realism to his descriptions- exactly what his narratives had been lacking. “My hand yanked backward on her hair, eliciting a pained gasp. My eyes shot up to hers in a panic. “I’m sorry...” I whispered, as myself this time. “Shh. Don’t break character!” Chase giggled.”

The bondage consultation scenes in particular, are well researched and very informative for the reader. I applaud Koslo for her attention to detail in these areas. As someone who has not delved into this subject except with the tangential experimentation that was called ‘my twenties’, I found her descriptions to be non-judgemental while providing an interesting view into the culture. I never thought about the safety and self-care aspect of BDSM before, and the DOM/sub aspects didn’t turn me off like some novels by other authors.

I will reiterate that this book is hot. While the banter is sexy, some of the dialogue is so blisteringly hot that it scorches the page.
“Oh god...oh god...” I cried out as he continued to pound into me, his chest glistening with sweat from his efforts.“Almost there...” he groaned as he continued to hold the vibrator down where we were joined. I watched the muscles in his arm flex as he gripped the headboard tightly, using it as leverage to drive into me with powerful thrusts.”

Is it hot in here? I think I left my body at one point, died, came back, died again, and came to consciousness in a bathtub full of ice. I actually stopped highlighting passages about ¼ through the novel, there were just so many sizzling lines that evoked an audible gasp. One of those lines being: “She wet her lips with her pink tongue and then whispered the sexiest fucking thing I’d ever heard in my life. “I want you to fuck my mouth.” Time of death: NOW.

If you are looking for a low stakes, highly erotic, charmingly romantic, and relatively quick read - definitely check out Foreplay on Words by E.L. Koslo.

Review: I absolutely loved this book the romance was adorable and I loved the spice . This is about Chase and Evan they are both writers . Chase is asked to help Evan write a sex scene for his book . Evan has a lot of anxiety and especially since his last relationship. Chase and Evan get a long great and they flirt and finally kiss . They decided to write a book together involving Bdsm so they needed to ask chasers friend who's a dom for some help . It gets spicy and Chase and Evan definitely do their research. They submit their book and now they are required to do a tour . On the first of the tour they fall into some drama Evans ex shows up and says some hateful shit and chase punches her . But Evan gets an anxiety attack. Emory , Nathan find Evan and take him back to the studio Evan had a bad reaction to some anxiety mess. Evan gets out to Chicago with chase. They continue the tour and Evan proposes this was such a cute story.

Quotes :How have we not met? We were in the same place at the same time and have the same publisher,” she asked as she looked over at me. “I’m not sure, but maybe me being horrible at describing sex wasn’t such a bad thing.”

Oh god, Evan,” I moaned as he sucked on a particularly sensitive patch of skin near my shoulder blade. “Which one is it? God or Evan?”

Evan wanted to write a sexy book with me about bondage. It’s always the quiet ones.

I’d proposed staying in a hotel, but she refused and told me she’d tie me up and drag me to her condo if I didn’t stay with her.

So, how many sex toys do you own now?” she asked with an entirely straight face as she popped her trunk. “I’m just gonna go walk into traffic,”

Chase Rodgers, also known as Chastity Rose on the romance novel scene, has just added something new to her schedule, helping a fellow author work on their sex scene writing game. They’re in a bit of a slump, and although Chase doesn’t feel like babysitting someone through their romance novel, her editor knows how to get her way.

Evan Stineman, pen-name Stone Evans, isn’t new to the writing world. With a few Time’s bestsellers under his belt, he’s well respected. But he doesn’t really know romance, mystery being his genre of choice. Though he knows exactly which romance novelist can help him through the sex scene slump.

Sparks fly between them as they put words to paper, but writing someone else’s love story is always easier than living your own. Is what the pair feeling really something more, or are the two authors just wrapped up in crafting the perfect romance?

As a reader (and writer) of romance, I was really interested in the premise of this book. It’s so easy to invest in characters and their emotions when writing, so I could see how Chase and Evan might get fiction and reality twisted. But as we all know as readers, sometimes the couple that doesn’t get along at first make for the best stories.

I loved the witty banter and sarcastic one liners that filled this book. Chase really knew how to dish it out and hold her own against anyone. And the heat jumped off the pages. The chemistry between Chase and Evan made for amazing sex scenes that Evan took more than a little inspiration from…not that I blame him!

Overall, I think this book would be enjoyed by all romance lovers who seek a little spice.

Not bad, but it was missing something to give it the umph it needed. The plot and character development was surface level, at best. I was expecting the MC’s to be forced into writing the book together instead of forced into editing each others works and THEN deciding to write a story together. I thought the book would be about them experimenting and learning the BDSM lifestyle as they wrote but the actual writing of the book was less than a 1/3 of the overall story.

Thank you @cherrypublishing_english & @elkoslo_writes I received an advanced reader copy of Foreplay on Words for this honest review.

And honestly, you’re crazy not to read it. It was HOT. Romantic and sweet all rolled into one. 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

The number of times I fanned myself because of the overflow of steam was insane, and I loved it! I had to pause a few times to get attention from my hubby otherwise I wouldn’t have been able to continue.

One thing I admired about Chase, was that she was an independent and strong woman who knew what she wanted and wasn’t afraid to go for it.

The MC and LI shared a humours banter which I enjoyed immensely! Found myself laughing out loud more than a few times. I loved that the writer depicted her as a curvy girl.

BDSM is mentioned in the book, and I must say that I could tell the writer had done research on the topic which I thought was incredible and made everything more believable.

I wished I were Chase, getting the attention she deserved from Evan. I loved that she had brought him out of his shell and that even though a woman like that would normally scare him right off, he was still himself around her. It was important that he felt safe, and she provided that for him.

Writing about anxiety or sensitive topics can be difficult for some writers, but this author has shown a lot of respect to the subject which is very personal to me.

You will fall in love with Chase and Evan. I found myself rooting for their relationship.

Aside from the brilliant story, the writing was amazing. It flowed well, and the descriptions were vivid, which were especially delicious during those hot scenes, and there were A LOT of them. Which I LOVED!

If you’re into Erotic romance, hilarious banter, characters that depict strong independent women and shy guys who turn out to be the freakiest kind, then this book is for you.

So, give this book a chance. I promise you won’t be disappointed because I sure wasn’t.

I liked this book a lot; I found it on Twitter via artwork commissioned by the author, and I kept going back to that art, so I borrowed it off KU and took it for a spin.

A popular, yet reclusive, mystery/thriller author is trying to expand his writing and includes a sex scenes in his current book, and it's horrible. His editor helps him by suggesting a writing consultant, another author who writes romance for the same publisher. He reads some of her books, and asks for an in-person meeting because he is so turned on and entranced by her work. The romance author doesn't want to do it, but reluctantly gives in, and drives to meet him at his home and offer her knowledge.

And the sparks fly from the first meeting. The rest of the book is how they manage to work together on his project and then a joint one they decide to write together. Chase, our heroine, has some BDSM experience from when she wrote a previous book, doing some in-person research with members of that community, and Evan, our hero, finds out he is also a fan when he goes to experience some of the things their MCs do.

There's insta-lust and love comes very quickly, but it worked for me. I was really worried about the 80% crisis point, so I stopped reading for a bit when I saw it coming (I've been doing that with a lot books lately, not just this one). But it turns out it wasn't a breakup or any sort of misunderstanding, which made me very happy!

Just a few flaws - I thought the book was a bit long; it seemed to drag out a bit, and I think possibly some tighter editing was needed - not a lot of pages cut, but I felt like towards the end it was repeating itself. And personal preference: I really am not a fan of the word "cum" or "cumming," or when grunts and groans are spelled out on page. "Uhhhh..." "ahhhh" and "ohhhh" don't make me think of someone orgasming, it makes me think someone can't think of a word or just realized something. Not a deal breaker, but minor stuff that threw me out of the book.

Holy cow!!!! If you want a book that will make even the kinkiest person blush, then here you go. This book made my boyfriend extremely happy because let me tell you, it was either that or a cold shower. Anyways, that wasn't the only reason I loved this book. I very much enjoyed the storyline, how easily it flowed, and the characters. I thought Chase was amazing, and I loved how strong and independent she was. Guys, just go buy this book. It's so worth it.

4.25⭐️ for the book that had me shocked.
I genuinely enjoyed reading this. It was such an interesting take on a romance novel, it felt like a breath of fresh air. Foreplay on Words follows two authors. Chase Rodgers (aka as Chasity Rose, which is her pen name) is an erotic romance author. She’s confident in her words and she doesn’t shy away from anything. She’s funny and outgoing, she’s a great person. Chase meets Evan Stineman (aka as Evan Stone, which is his pen name). These two meet because Evan’s been having trouble with his writing. To be specific he’s been having trouble with his sex scenes. You see Evan writes thrillers and mysteries, there’s never been a need for him to write sex scenes. I was shocked with his character, I was expecting a cocky know it all for a male lead… Evan is the exact opposite. He’s an absolute cinnamon role. He’s a bit more on the innocent side. He’s a kind soul that has had his self confidence broken by his toxic ex. He deals with his anxiety and while I was reading it made my heart break when he thought he had to apologize for his mental health. When Chase and Evan meet sparks fly. They’re both so comfortable with each other that they just work. Chase boosts Evan’s confidence but at the same time she is always there for him when he feels anxious. Evan also helps Chase, he helps her slow down and appreciate the little things. They both help each other become better writers. They help each other become better people.

This is a bit of an insta-love trope and I know that a lot of people aren’t fans of this trope but E.L Koslo knows how to pull it off. Their relationship is so adorable but the smut scenes had me shook. In Evan’s case: for someone who couldn’t write smut he is a great partner (iykyk)

I loved the characters. They were all so unique and they all added to the story.

Thank you to E.L Koslo for a copy of this book!

Evan is a bestselling author of mystery novels who is currently suffering from a massive case of writer’s block - or sex block.

His current story features a sex worker and he just can’t get the intricate details of sex down.

Enter Chase.

Chase is a bestselling romance/erotica author, and is part of the same publishing group that Evan is. When she’s asked to help out Evan rewrite his sex scenes she’s at first reluctant, despite how handsome he is.

But once these two meet, they realise that the best method is not theory but practical.

I was not expecting the sex scenes in this to be so hot. Their BDSM voyeur and play really steamed up the pages.

Chase was confident in her sexuality and was always down to experiment and guide Evan.
Evan hates crowds, doesn’t do well with people or big cities. He prefers his solitude and can be socially awkward due to a past traumatic relationship. Despite this, he was all in with Chase and was eager to explore his sensual side with her. He became attached to Chase quite quickly not knowing if she felt the same way.

This was a sexy read with an intriguing plot and well drawn out. It is a lengthy read but a page turner and paced well. Great heroine and adorable hero.

You know those books where you keep waiting for the sex scene and you finally get one about 80% in? Not the case here. There's sex in almost every chapter after the first time. I read a lot of romance, and I have never read a book with as many sex scenes. Some of them are taboo. Just a heads up as you go into this one. There was also a great storyline with the sex scenes.
The only negative on it I wished I knew going in is that this is long for a romance book. If you're looking for a quick read, this isn't it. All in all, this is a fun book to read.

There is really only about one word to describe this book, and it’s H-O-T-T! This book throughly backs up its title!

Chase is a Romance writer who has been asked to help Evan a Mystery writer with his sex scenes because to say they are lacking is an understatement. The sexual tension between them is palpable the moment that they meet, even awkward Evan turns into a different person.

As you can see it this passage from in chapter four of Foreplay on Words;

"Shall we go inside? I can make some dinner.

"A man who cooks and writes. You're a dangerous one, Evan," she teased, and I felt my face heat up a little.

"I don't know about that," I laughed as she smiled at me.

"Cooking for yourself kind of becomes a necessity when you live in the middle of nowhere."

The love/sex scenes in this book are RED HOT! I’m talking Ghost Pepper hot! They maybe too hot for some, but those of us who enjoy a throughly hot experience, will love the kink and chemistry these two characters show throughout the book.

There are so many hot passages that sometimes one has to pause the book and as Evan says in one chapter, have to take " ...matters into my own hands."

There is outside drama that will affect the couple, the question becomes is it something they can survive?

To me there is nothing I could give other than 5 stars to this book! E.L. Koslo has written a hit! I can’t wait for more of her books to be published! She has been an amazing writer on chapters and Wattpad for years, but I love being able to read the published version (which if you read this on either platform before, it is slightly different.)

I think that the only people who wouldn’t like this book are those not into light BDSM. But I throughly hope that even those would give it a chance, because it’s a great book to read with your partner. It's got the winning equation, comedy, drama, love, history and of course hot sex scenes!

I hope thus has helped you find your next Tantalizing Tome!

This story was DELICIOUS. Definitely a top read of 2022 for me. The chemistry between Chase and Evan was incredible from the beginning which made the spice between them hotter than a carolina reaper, I mean, it was hottttttt 🔥 I love, love, love the plot— Chase is a romance author giving Evan (a suspense/thriller author) tips on writing intimate scenes for his newest book. There was the perfect amount of humor/banter, the side characters were also just as interesting and Evan was very relatable for me with his anxiety.
