Our Kind of Love

Rate this book
One of Nashville’s fastest rising stars, Kyle Keenan has it all—fame, fans, and a chance at fortune. But the dream he’s busted his tail for means nothing without the woman who holds his heart. With her sassy smile and pull-no-punches attitude, Abbey is his greatest love—and his greatest regret. When he’s confronted in a live TV interview about alleged involvement with a country music starlet, Kyle blurts out he’s already engaged…to Abbey.

Abbey Whittaker has come a long way from the starry-eyed six-year-old who made a marriage pact with her best friend. With a thriving business, a loving family, and a tight-knit group of friends, she’s put away childish things. She long ago banished Kyle from her life, so the last thing she expects is him walking through her door or the blistering kiss that follows.

Kyle is desperate to convince Abbey that a fake engagement is the best way to get the media off her back—and his. And it just might give him a chance to fix what he destroyed. Even as these two frenemies remember all the reasons they wanted to be lovers, another blast from Kyle’s past returns, threatening to expose the secret he’s spent his entire career hiding.

When truths come to light, will love conquer all or will Kyle lose everything?

This is my first Kait Nolan novel and won't be the last. Abbey and kyle's story is beautiful, sweet, sexy and emotional. Abbey and kyle have known each other forever, they're each other's soul mate and thought they were going to spend the rest of their lives together until one night they were torn apart. 10 years later they are face to face again with unresolved feelings and questions that are unanswered. Highly recommend this book

I gave up… DNF at 61%. I can’t no more with this book. I was so looking forward to Kyle and Abbey’s book since reading the first book in this series. I waited and waited and FINALLY it was here! But what a deception it was. God this book was dreadful. I thought this was supposed to be a second chance novel, but these two never were an item before. Never crossed the line at being more than friends. And then when we finally learn the reason why they were a decade apart and why Abbey refused to speak to him. It was just lame IMO, I expected so much more. Then he is instantly forgiven. Like: “Kyle I’m sorry..”. “You have nothing to be sorry about. I’m sorry”. “No I’m sorry”. “No I am sorry”. “No really I am sorry”. Okay let’s kiss and make up. Arghh!! This book frustrated me. I tried after they got together, but it just didn’t get any better for me. After not speaking to him for a decade, still feeling hurt, she certainly fell into his step pretty fast. This is definitely a “it’s not the book, it’s me”. Because I had much higher expectations, especially after the previous book, and that is totally on me.

Safe, there have been others for both of them but it isn’t really clarified. Hero for sure not a manwhore.

Kyle Keenan is an up and coming Nashville star, and he just accidentally announced to the world that he is engaged… To his ex girlfriend, Abbey…

Abbey and Kyle were best friends since they were young and they made a pact to get married when they were 21, except thing happened and Abbey and Kyle stopped talking. Now Kyle is back and he wants a favor from Abbey. He wants her to lie about their fake engagement till the media sensation dies down. Will Abbey help Kyle out or was the past just too much to overcome??

I enjoyed the story. I just expected a bit more groveling there at the end. The big ‘secret’ of why they ‘broke’ up just seemed so lame. And after Abbey was so mad at him for so many years she forgive him quit quickly there at the end. It was an okay story for me. I enjoyed the chemistry between the characters, I liked the whole friends/siblings part of the story, the emotion, the steam. I loved the relationship Kyle had with Abbey’s grandfather. All in all it was just an okay read for me. Wanted more groveling and more drama 😊♥ Looking forward to reading the next story…

4 star review of Our Kind of Love by Kait Nolan

Kait Nolan is a relatively new author to me. Our Kind Of Love was well written and entertaining. I was hooked on the story that Kait Nolan wove about Kyle Keenan and Abbey Whittaker from the first chapter to the last.
They were friends as children but through the years they drifted apart. Kyle has had feelings for Abbey for a long time, in fact, she is the one who got away. When Kyle is put on the spot during an interview he blurts out that he is engaged to Abbey, now all he has to do is convince her to go along with it. He hopes that if she agrees he might be able to show her that they could have a wonderful life together.
The chemistry between them is intense but what happens when secrets are revealed and the past comes back to haunt Kyle? Will it bring them together or destroy them once and for all?
Our Kind Of Love is at times an emotional read and I was cheering for them to get their happily ever after.

Kait Nolan continues to give us reader fans the perfect blend of southern sass and steamy times. The ending got a little ridiculous (like seriously if your phone has died and getting ahold of someone is super important…just stop at literally ANY store and buy yourself a charger!), but at least the heroine made better choices as an adult and didn’t repeat the mistakes from 10 years ago.

As usual, Amy McFadden is a fantastic narrator and I will listen every last book in this series!

DNF @ 42%

This is the first time I’ve ever DNFd a Kait Nolan book. And maybe my enjoyment is being hindered by just having finished another “fake fiancé” book.

However, I think it’s more that I thought this was a second chance romance and it’s not (they were best friends growing up, but never more) *and* the constant vaguebooking of whatever *thing* from 10+ years ago caused their current standoff. These are adults in their 30s. Have a conversation.

Plus, the situation that drives them together is incredibly convoluted and flimsy. Three hours in and none of it is pulling together for me.

Since I’ve read/listened to over 30 of Nolan’s books, I’m considering my inability to connect with this one an aberration and moving on.

Narration:
Amy McFadden is amazing as always. She’s brought back the voices for all the Misfit Inn characters as well as giving the MCs their own unique sound.

I went in with cero expectations. I didn't know if I should read it, but I'm so glad I did.

I loved their relationship so much, because it started with so much miscommunication, the way the handled it afterwards was so satisfying. I loved when they talked about all their feelings, either good or bad. I also liked that it was very mature, in their responses to life events. They trusted each other and talked first before making any assumptions.

Friends to lovers and second chance both are my favorite tropes and when one of my favorite author puts them together, the result is fantastic. I have waited for Kyle and Abbey's book for a while. And I am surprised that Kyle and Abbey's story has more angst and drama than another books of Nolan... I like it though. Well, It is intense but not too much because another characters help make the story enjoyable with their supports. It is also heartwarming and emotional. The book is a stand-alone but I suggest you read the previous book in the seires so you could get a picture of Abbey's reaction when everyone talks about Kyle because it is mentioned in this book a lot but with their chemistry seems to be exposed since they reconcile, maybe it's hard to believe that Abbey used to hate him that much. I enjoy reading the book so it isn't hard to give it 5 stars.

"Our Kind of Love" was the first book I've ever read by Kait Nolan, and while it mostly worked as a standalone, there were a fair number of characters from previous books and series set in the same town who made appearances in this one. Some of their relationships were a bit confusing for me at first, as was the genesis of the Misfit Inn itself. For that reason, there are certain aspects of this book that readers already familiar with Nolan's work are likely to appreciate more than I did. I still enjoyed it, but a brief prologue or something to explain the Inn's background would have been super helpful here IMO.

"Our Kind of Love" was a sweet second chance romance between rising country music star Kyle Keenan and his childhood best friend Abbey Whittaker, who hadn't spoken in nearly a decade because of a failed elopement attempt. However, after being blindsided in a live interview and blurting out that he and Abbey were engaged, Kyle rushed back to his small Tennessee hometown of Eden's Ridge to try and explain everything to Abbey before she found out from another source. Reluctantly, Abbey agreed to go along with the fake engagement until the media lost interest in them, but secretly, Kyle hoped to use the opportunity to convince her that they were still meant to be together. Unfortunately, the past wasn't quite finished throwing obstacles in their path, and the truth of what had happened between them ten years ago wasn't the only thing standing in the way of their happily ever after.

I loved Abbey and Kyle as a couple, and even though their relationship moved quickly, I truly believed in the strength of their feelings for each other. It was obvious that they still knew each other inside and out, and I appreciated how supportive they were of each other. Even though Abbey was hurt and humiliated by what had happened between them ten years earlier, she not only stepped up to help Kyle, she defended him fiercely to their family and friends when they criticized him for staying away for so long or accused him of using Abbey to protect his career. In return, Kyle did whatever he could to help Abbey and her family, and his relationship with her grandfather was very sweet.

Overall, "Our Kind of Love" was a sweet, heartwarming story that sometimes packed an emotional punch, but was ultimately incredibly satisfying. I recommend it for all contemporary romance readers and will plan to pick up more books by this author in the future.

This book was my first introduction to Kait Nolan as an author and I was pleasantly surprised at how much I liked this book. I typically lean towards darker romance books but something about this cover and the blurb had me intrigued.

Our main characters are serving us childhood best friends-to-lovers with a marriage pact and a side of second-chance romance and who doesn’t love that? Add some spice like a fake engagement/fake fiancee and we’ve got a winner!

There was something so sweet and innocent about Abbey and Kyle and when you learn about the dynamic of their relationship with each other as well as their families it will have you wishing you grew up in Eden’s Ridge with them.

Deemed as country music’s “Captain America” Kyle has made quite the name for himself after leaving Eden’s Ridge. After a quick confrontation on live TV, Kyle accidentally blurts out his engagement to Abbey. Except, he hasn’t seen or talked to Abbey since he left her years ago.

I enjoyed reading about Kyle’s hesitancy to return back home and his thought process surrounding his appearance back in his hometown. His struggles were real and I liked how the author wrote about his anxieties and didn’t just skip over the details.

The Abbey that Kyle once knew has now grown up and become a woman. She has a great group of friends to support her and a flourishing career. What I loved about Abbey was that although she is still heartbroken and hurt from Kyle’s actions years ago, she still decides to help Kyle out and pretend to be his fiancee. Will Abbey finally get the closure she needs to move on or will Kyle mend the heart he broke and claim his girl? To find out you’ll have to go and read the rest of the book!

This book was well written but way shorter than I anticipated it to be. I wish it was longer but I really did appreciate how the author did not drag out the plot. Besides that this book was a quick entertaining read and has so many sweet moments that will leave you happy.

This is my first time reading this author and this is book 2 in a series in the authors Men of Misfit Inn Series. It is also connected to the characters in the Misfit Inn series. Even though I had never read this author or either series, I was not lost and I felt it easily stands alone.

This is a a second chance at love story between two characters, Kyle and Abbey, who grew up together and were in love and he did something pretty awful or she believed he did. But she also is the only person he loved so when he gets cornered romanticly, he says they are engaged.

But the truth is he did her wrong and she hated him for over ten years. If this sounds like a bad country song, well it is because he is a popular country western singer.

The first series, The Misfit Inn series follows the women adopted as children of a social worker named Joan who adopted a group of girls and treated them like family. She also took in a bunch of boys and that is what this series is about, the men of Misfit Inn. When Joan dies all the kids come home. Kyle's situation is a bit different in that at age 13 his parents embezzled from Abbey's family and so Joan took him in when they went to jail.

They both haven't seen each other in over ten years but after he names her on TV, she comes home to protect her and maybe win her back. I really enjoyed watching him come home and try and make up for the past.

I really enjoyed this story and plan to read more by this author. It was well written and I enjoyed getting to know the characters in this story. It was a wonderfully written second chance at love story.

Title: Our Kind of Love
Author: Kait Nolan
Hero/Heroine: Kyle & Abbey
Trope: Friends to Lovers/Fake Engagement

THE GOOD 😁

This book was like a massive hug in written form; heartwarming and sweet with a cast of great characters, it gave me that warm Ready Brek kind of glow (all you 90’s kids will know what I’m on about).
Kyle and Abbey have been best friends since birth, and made a pact when they were six that they would get married as soon as they turned twenty one. Fast forward a number of years later, Kyle is fast becoming one of the biggest stars in country music and Abbey has just moved back in with her parents to help care for her Grandad who is suffering with dementia. To put it politely, some serious sh*t went down and they haven’t spoken to each other in a decade. When an innocent comment is made on a television interview, Kyle heads back to Eden Ridge to ask Abbey for a pretty big favour. This was where the story reeled me in; Abbey trying to control her feelings toward Kyle (both violent and other), and Kyle realising that he still loves her, I literally had heart eyes reading it. Don’t get me wrong, I love an angsty read as much as the next person, but this story was low in angst and just so dang wholesome, and I was here for it.
Sweet, soulful and highly enjoyable, this story was a pleasure to read from beginning to end.

THE BAD ☹️

Kyle’s manager, Davis the Dickhead. When his involvement in the breakdown of Kyle and Abbeys relationship became apparent, I was like ‘oh no he din’t!’.

Thank you to the author for providing an arc of this book for me to read. This is my honest review.

OVERALL THOUGHTS: A proper feel good romance with just the right amount of sweet and steamy

Our Kind of Love is the second book in the Men of the Misfit Inn series, but reads well as a stand alone. Abbey and Kyle grew up as best friends, but went their separate ways, not on the best of terms. When Kyle is interviewed ten years later and reveals that Abbey is his fiancée, he rushes home for the first time to beg her to play along. But can this fake engagement develop into something much more real and can they face their past together?

I absolutely adored this book! I felt like I was perpetually trying not to cry, for all sorts of different emotional reasons, but mostly because I was so invested in this story, in their romance, in hoping and praying that their love that started so young could outlast everything! I loved Abbey and Kyle! I loved their ups and all of the craziness that stood in their way to their happily ever after, and there was a lot of unexpected surprises! Abbey was so sweet and caring and I loved how giving she was. It was nice to see that while she had given so much up for her family, she was able to start dreaming again for herself. Kyle felt like he had so much to overcome, with Abbey and with his own past, so I liked when he was able to face his own insecurities. I adored them together. I liked all of their past which helped create such a strong foundation for the now. I liked how well both of them fought for what they wanted, too! I am loving this spin off of the Misfit Inn series, this may be my new favorite book from Ms. Nolan, and I can’t wait to read what will happen next!

I thoroughly loved this beautiful ex-best friends-to-lovers complicated tale. This book although it appears easy it's far from it. A lot of what occurs between Kyle and Abbey isn't actually caused by themselves but by people outside. People that should have the couple's interests at heart but selfishly don't.

I love a fake engagement book and this one is no different. The characters that help and make up this story, do a great job of making it all entertaining. The Love story is a beautiful read, one that kicks off almost from the first encounter after 10 years apart. I was left with a lot of questions. I wanted to know what happened to the people that wronged the couple but I guess sometimes letting your imagination decide is better.

Kait Nolan is a new to me author and this is the first book I have read by her. I will definitely be reading more. I completely recommend this book. It's was a great easy read.

I'm going to call this the week of Kait Nolan. That seems like all I've read this week. And for very good reason.

I rarely start reading and finish it before 24 hours is up. Wow. Double wow. The men of the Misfit Inn are really starting to go beyond growing on me. I'm making friends with these people and I'm loving it.

Kyle and Abbey's relationship has been going on for twenty five years. You don't know at the beginning what pulled them apart, and you also don't know the backstory of why Kyle feels like he isn't worth much. You'll just have to read to figure all that out.

Kait Nolan has written a series of books that are captivating. And the big reason for that is she's pulling all the characters together in her books. From the first on to the last, the people of Eden's Ridge are stick together like glue. Some of the characters that you'll meet and grow to be friends with aren't the main characters in the books. That alone makes this fascinating to read. Crystal at the diner who actually runs a betting pool on who will get married first. Ari, the teenager who is the absolute best at matchmaking. I won't go any farther, just read the books, you'll see.

I came upon this author by accident. Had never heard of her, but was completely tired of the steamy contemporary romance genre because they all sounded alike. Even the numerous series books were starting out stale. Kait Nolan made me believe in tear jerking, real live, wondrous LOVE. You go girl ... just keep writing about the Misfit Inn! 4-1/2+

Finally getting their HEA

I loved Abbey and Kyle’s second chance, frenemies, marriage pact romance of all the things. This heartwarming story chock full of big feels had the perfect balance of humor, love, real life issues, drama, and spice. Kyle is a famous country music star who just finished a grueling tour. Abbey gives face and body treatments at the Misfit Inn and Spa. Abbey and Kyle were best friends growing up and he asked her to marry him when they were 6 but they agreed they’d wait until they were 21. Then Kyle did something that ripped them apart for a decade. When Kyle confesses on a talk show that his heart is spoken for and accidentally blurts out Abbey’s name, he rushes to her side to get in front of the impending media storm. The resulting fake engagement restarts their long interrupted HEA, allows them to unpack some baggage and to find a path forward together. I have a soft spot for the people who are a bit uncomfortable in their skin because they don’t feel like they fit in or are worthy, like Kyle. So I love when they finally see their truth and they get swoon worthy HEAs. I was so happy Kyle and Abbey got to where they needed to be. This small town swoon worthy story was well written and included engaging dialogue, three dimensional characters who grow, and a captivating storyline. I’m looking forward to reading the next book in this series. I need all of Joan’s boys to find their forevers. I also want to visit the Misfit Inn. 4.5 stars.

I love Kait's books. You can't get enough of her stories. We met Abbey in Kait's previous series Misfit Inn. She works at the Misfit Spa and is helping out with her Granddad. Abbey has some hatred for former flame and foster brother to her closest friends...but no one knows what happened. Kyle is America's newest country heartthrob. Who loves his fans and music but longs for something more. He needs a break from the limelight but when his manger suggests a hook-up with another country singer he flat out refuses the idea. While doing an interview Kyle is questioned about the possible relationship with his touring costar. So he announces on livevtv that he is already engaged and its Abbeys name he speaks...OMG! Kyle is determined to get to Abbey before the press. Abbey does not like anyone to mention Kyle in her presence but when customers say he is engaged...her heart breaks even a little more. he next thing she knows a slimy reporter is there and so is Kyle...with a kiss!! OMG!!! Abbey needs some answers STAT!! Kyle can only hope he can convince Abbey of his plan. Will Abbey finally get closure to what happened all those years ago? Will Kyle's past finally catch up to him and can he convince Abbey to give them another chance? When truths come to light, will love conquer all or will Kyle lose everything?

Our Kind of Love by Kait Nolan hits a lot of my favorite tropes: Small town romance, frenemies to lovers, second chances...it's all here. Add to that, it's an entry in the Misfit Inn series, which I LOVE, and you've got a winner. I have MANY of Kait Nolan's books on my "comfort food" shelf, and reread them often. I love revisiting old friends, meeting new ones, and falling in love with a new book boyfriend. The Misfit Inn series works its way through the multitude of foster children taken in over the years by the former matriarch of the family, Joan. So while each story is new, and brings new elements, issues and backstories to the table, it's like adding more color and depth to an already familiar painting. We know SOMETHING about their lives, even before we get to their individual stories, I love that. Each story in the series can be read on its own; however reading other books in the series adds to the richness of the stories, and to the familiarity and comfort these stories can bring. Our hero in this story is Kyle, a country music star. He and Abby, our heroine, grew up together, friends since infancy. They eventually became more than friends, but then Kyle broke her heart. His fame and an interview slipup is about to bring the paparazzi to Abby's door, so Kyle has to go and warn her. Another really good entry in the Misfit Inn series. Highly recommended!

'Forever Soulmates'
Nice story, full of suspense, drama, schemes, and new-found love, hope, dreams, and no looking back.

"How long would it take a fake engagement to turn real?" We are talking about childhood loves - Kyle and Abbey!

A long, long time ago, Kyle had given a ring and his heart to his best friend in the world, the woman he'd known he wanted to marry, even at the tender age of six. Abbey had sent the ring back, and he'd kept it since as a reminder that there were more important things than fame and money. He might be able to make up for his mistakes with Abbey.

"Kyle is engaged?" Why should that upset Abbey? He wasn't part of her life anymore. They were less than friends now. He'd moved on. They'd made a pact when they turned twenty-one, they would marry. That's the forever way. It's the official grown-up way. So, it was settled.

The news of his engagement had broken something in Abbey's over-taxing brain. "What was he up to and why was he announcing his engagement to her before she knew anything about it?" Kyle pinned away for her for more than ten years.

'Camera. Paparazzi. Audience. S**t!'

Kyle decided to honor that marriage promise. He dug in his pocket, held out the plastic ring she'd set back to him a decade ago. "You kept it?"
"I carried it everywhere. It was the only piece of you I had left."

No more regrets. Love brought them back together at the right time. Find out what happens and read the next book: Stay A Little Longer: A Small-Town Family Romance (The Misfit Inn Book 3) Happy reading!

Kyle is a country music star. Abbey was his best friend since forever until 10 years ago, when everything changed. When he accidentally implies that he is engaged in an interview and names Abbey as his fiancée, he must rush home to do some damage control. Their story is written in third person from a dual POV.
I adored Abbey. She is a small-town girl who had her heart broken by her best friend. But she still loves her family, her town, and her business. I love that she is direct and calls Kyle out on multiple occasions throughout the book. I love that she knows Kyle in a way no one else does because of their history. I love that she can support him because deep down she never stopped loving him. Kyle is a little disillusioned with where his life is when he makes the interview mistake. I love that he seizes the opportunity to win Abbey back yet is patient until she asks for his side of the story of what happened 10 years ago. There is some heat and a lot of heart as they find their way back to each other.
I adored the secondary characters in the story. Granddaddy was someone I just want to hang out with on the back porch. I love the supportive found family. I thoroughly enjoyed the book and cannot wait for more stories set in Eden Ridge.

Once upon a time, Kyle and Abbey were best friends from the time they were kids. That turned into something more as they grew up — but then he broke her heart, left her behind, and she has always been his biggest regret. Even as he climbed higher and higher up the charts as a country music superstar, Abbey was always the one who got away. After he's put on the spot during a big interview and lies that he's engaged to Abbey, Kyle heads back home for the first time in a decade to do some damage control. But will Abbey be able to forgive him for what happened in the past?

Kyle does his best to convince Abbey to really give him another shot as he helps her out at home with her ailing grandpa. There are some really sweet moments between Kyle and Granddaddy, and there is a nice use of Abbey and Kyle's history in telling their story. But the headway Kyle makes with Abbey is put to the test when a secret from his past catches up with his present and threatens to destroy their future.

Our Kind of Love was an entertaining, captivating story. I liked the chemistry between Kyle and Abbey, and how deep their friendship runs. In addition to a charming story of forgiveness and second chances is the reality of how Alzheimer's can affect a family, and I thought that Kait Nolan wrote both scenarios well.

Kait Nolan is a new-to-me author, so I wasn't aware that this book is a spin-off of a previous series featuring some of the other characters in Kyle's family. So there is a lot more to read about in this world! I received an advanced copy and voluntarily left a review.

Kait Nolan has done it again creating characters Kyle and Abbey and their host of family and friends with such depth and richness you feel as if you know them and can’t help cheering these frenemies on to slay their demons and finally get together as the lovers they are destined to be! Kyle really steps in it when he hedges in the middle of an interview alluding to his heart being taken but it comes off instead as actually being engaged to the girl he promised his heart to at age six. Abbey has moved on with her life although her friends feel otherwise and finds her world uprooted when the paparazzi blow into town along with the man she thought was long gone from her life.

Kait captures so many truisms throughout this story that left me inspired and nodding in agreement! As Brenè Brown would agree, shame only has power in the dark and certainly “the world would run smoother if more people said what they think instead of beating around the bush.” I am sure you will love these characters and their loving friends and family, especially Abbey’s dear grandfather who is living with dementia and of course Kyle’s former foster family who is really family for life as much as I did! Such a wonderful, moving feel-good story that I didn’t want to end!

Once again, this talented author writes a story that will touch your hearts.
We are back at the Misfit Inn where at one time Joan, a foster mother, gave a group of kids a chance of finding a family.
Kyle Keenan was one of them. Nowadays, he’s an up and coming country singer. When life should be exciting, he still mourns the loss of his childhood best friend and love of his life. During a tv interview not wanting to be paired up with another singer he claims he’s already engaged to “Abbey”. Knowing that his comment will turn upside down her life, he returns home to warn her.
Ten years ago Abbey Whittaker’s heart was crushed by Kyle. Nowadays she has a life working at a spa and helping her family with her beloved grandfather.
But when Kyle returns, old hurts as well as feelings come back to life turning her life in a turmoil.
Can these two find their way back together or will it be too late?
The author not only gives us a story about second chances, hope and new beginnings, but she also delves with the realities of Alzheimer and how it affects not only the individual but the entire family.
This was another winner not only in this series but in this author’s arsenal of wonderful stories.
I was entrusted a copy of this book by Booksprout. The opinions expressed are solely my own.

To find your "ONE" person that just gets you, that makes you smile, and is the one you can't wait to see again when the sun rises, is a miracle! To find the "ONE" as a child who makes you have all the feels of a young one, to ride bikes, play in the school yard, protect you from the bullies etc. and have that precious friendship grow to Sweethearts and more...........why you run to the supermarket with all your change and get something special for that person from the gumball machine. As an ARC reader, I get to read different genre' and authors where I rarely find an author so consistent. Overall quality of writing is excellent with well rounded characters and storyline. A story you fall in love with the residents and feels like home. You can't wait to see what everyone is up too, has any changes happened to spruce up the Inn or the town. And when someone hurts those you care about, everyone rallies. The Misfit Inn has all of this and more. It has all the feels. It will have you angry at the bad guy, rooting for the young lovers, and so glad you came home for a visit! I'm once again honored to have been allowed to ARC for "Our Kind Of Love" an amazing story by Ms. Kait Nolan

A great second chance, small town romance! When Kyle and Abbey were six, they made a marriage pact. When they were 21, they were going to elope, but not very many people knew that fact. Ten years later, Kyle still has Abbey on the brain and blurts out that he's engaged to her on national television. A mad rush home to Eden's Ridge doesn't stop the paparazzi from showing up. One meddling Grandaddy later, Kyle managed to convince Abbey to go along with the ruse. But the fake engagement feels like something more and Abbey and Kyle need to navigate all that it entails. Kyle has decisions to make about his future. Another more appealing offer lands in his lap. His mother is making waves with the press. His next attempt to marry Abbey is thwarted. Grandaddy butts in again. This story is heartwarming and funny, heartbreaking and beautiful. I loved the original Misfit Inn series and am loving the Men of Misfit. It's amazing to see how a bunch of misfits were loved by one phenomenal woman who gave them what they needed when they were at their lowest points and formed a family that continues to raise up long after she passed.

I received an advance copy of this book at my request and voluntarily left this review.

A sweet romance that has you falling in love with Kyle. Talk about heartbreak and miscommunication between two people who loved each other.

Kyle is a famous country singer but is not into all the fame that goes with it. He just wants some down time and to be back home. He has had Abbey, his childhood sweetheart, on his mind forever but for two reasons, love & hate. During an interview he lies about being engaged & let's Abbey's name slip from his mouth. What could possibly be wrong with that? Well, a lot is wrong because of the past they shared.

Abbey had get heart broken by Kyle and has never really healed from it. She had to come back home to help care for her granddad. She is working with Kyle's sisters, who have become close friends. She thinks about Kyle but with heartache. Why did he do what he did all those years ago? Can she ever forgive him?

After the interview Kyle comes back home to talk with Abbey and both their lives change. Did she forgive Kyle? Does Kyle tell her the truth? What does her granddad have to do with Kyle staying,?

Kait delivers a fantastic story of second chances, true love and persistence. I really enjoyed reading this story as it is a make you feel good one

Kyle and Abbey's story is finally here! .... and it was worth the wait! Ever since I read about Kyle's mysterious past with Abbey in "Let It Be Me (Men of the Misfit Inn #1)" I knew I wanted to read their story and find out what happened.
I love this series. Kait Nolan has taken a subject (foster care) and transformed it from sad stories you hear about in the news, to stories of love, strength, bonding, and family. She shows that there are many different kinds of family, but when all is said and done, family is a group of people that love each other and will always be there for each other. This is the group from the Misfit Inn.
The first several books were about the girls, now women, who group up as part of this foster family. "Out Kind of Love" is the second book in the series about the boys, now men, who grew up in this incredible group of "misfits".
Reading a story with a happy ending is one of the things I love about romance books. Nolan does an awesome job of incorporating stories about kids who have had to overcome adversity and who eventually find their happily ever after as well. By adding touches of humor and incredible descriptions of the mountains of Tennessee, I have thoroughly enjoyed each of the books in these series and would highly recommend all of them.
