The struggle was real with this book because, I couldn’t remember a single character. My memory is trash. It is absolutely horrible. It’s so bad, I had to pull up Plus just to remember who the members of The Crew actually were. This is what happens when you wait over a year to read book two. I have to say, Pop and Poetry didn’t resonate with me as much as Bars and Ballads did. Honestly, I just wasn’t feeling Kimi and Jock as a couple. There was no real chemistry between them, and their attraction felt manufactured. It just didn’t come off as very organic. One minute they were bandmates and the next, they’re being all intense and having sex. There was no courtship with them. One reviewer said the story felt incomplete and I have to agree with her. It felt like a good portion of their “relationship” was missing. Kimi and Jock’s story didn’t really do it for me. I had a hard time seeing them as a romantic couple but, I am glad Jock finally went to AA and he was able to open up to Kimi about the issues from his childhood. I’m hoping we get more details on his dad in Nelly’s book. I’m also keeping my fingers crossed for Shilah to get his own book. After being silent for 16 years, he definitely deserves his time to shine.

Finally, I learn why Jock was the way he was in previous books. He was hurting and troubled- poor thing. Lol. Seriously, I really enjoyed this book. The chemistry between Jock and Kimi was well displayed. I loved the protective nature of Kimi- she was nonjudgmental and really matched Jock’s persona. Hoping we get more on Shiloh!!

Whewwww... Sabrina will have ya crying and laughing in the same chapter! I love it! If ever you need to be hugged, that's the experience you'll get reading Sabrina's books. This crew is so talented and some would say damaged. But the healing that happens when they mend their brokenness is quite the journey & worth the wait! Great job! 🎊🎉💐💐💐

Pop and Poetry..oh yeah

Kimi and Jock are wounded vessels that find they are both on each other's mending wheel. Each has pain that only the other mend . Their music becomes more intense by melodies only they hear. Revelation comes and each finds their new path. Great read with passion off the charts. I can't wait for Shilah 's story.

Yesss! Kimi and Jock’s story was everything I needed. Sabrina B. Scales always gives her readers epic love stories with relatable characters and this one can definitely be added to the list! Jock was always portrayed as the problem within the crew and Kimi the peace so these two together was bound to be explosive! Sabrina creating these sexy and aggressive young men is starting to become a problem for my inner cougar! Jock was a surprise for me because he was so complex while still giving only what was needed on the surface. His background explained so much and I ached for him and the demons he battled so Sabrina giving him the peaceful Kimi was perfect. I loved everything about Kimi! Her beautiful soul, her caring nature and her nurturing those around her who she felt needed it really hooked me into this book. I hate to admit I never really paid much attention to Kimi in past reads so having a front row seat to all that she is was entertaining. They sex scenes in this book were EVERYTHING! I felt like once the cork was popped the true passion between these two came out. The flow of this book gave us what we needed at the right time. We got to see the progress with Jock and Kimi separately as well as together so when inhibitions were left at the door the passion poured off the pages.

I have to admit that I was a little nervous when I started this book because I felt Jock would take my boo Sabre out the top spot but… although he is a close second Sabre from Bars and Ballads is still safely on his throne lol. Sabrina B. Scales is always a one-click for me because I know she will never let me down and after finishing this book where new names were dropped, I can’t wait to see what she gives us next!

Welcome Back Crew! Who knew that Jock was going through so much? No wonder he was acting out like he was! Determined that he was unlovable and deserved all the bad things that happened to him, just continually brought him down. Now in walks Miss Kimi, who has her own ish going on, but is somehow intuitive to Jock's inner feelings. These two never imagined that they would have feelings for each other, but together they are powerful! Kimi taps into his feelings and calms him, like no one else has ever been able to do. Jock makes Kimi feel alive and understands her. Although Jock has some brokenness, Kimi is willing to help make him whole again. I love them together! I was hoping to see the reunion of Jock and his brother, but maybe in the next installment. Great read! 👍👍👍

This author owes me nothing! Another good one!

I am finding that there are some authors who can deliver a powerful product in few words. That is a gift and talent all by themselves. This author pulled me in to two tragic tales from the onset. Then as the story further develops we fund two broken yet strong individuals who gained their peace and strength from each other. Man, listen...the chemistry between Kami and Jock were off the charts and I love the empowering spirit of Kami who would not settle for less. Whew this story gave me everything and when it was over I was thoroughly satisfied. This author owes me nothing! Keep crafty these steamy and meaningful reads! I am all for it!!

Amazing read

Two tortured souls with similar wounds find solace and love within each other. My heartached for both Jock and Kimi for all that they had been through and overcame. They were both more than their past and mistakes especially Jock. I remember from his explosive behavior in the Falls series.that he was dealing with heaviness around his heart. I loved that he was making changes and just needed someone to be his peace and love him through his flaws and the woman for the job was Kimi. Kimi wasn't taking no crap. I loved the entire crew series.I hope to get an update on Taya and Chad. I love me some Chad!!! Definitely can't wait for what's next Sabrina always brings us just what we need eroticism and romance

Pump and Circumstance. Unnecessary!

There are many reasons for stories about real life issues. It takes talent to take different subjects and mold them into realistic situations without a lot of fan fare. This story had music and dancing and then there were moments of emotional upheaval. The romantic components took my breath away. Jock had so much going on in his life; he struggled to survive each day without painful feelings of loss. His second chance included a fellow entertainer on the same tour circuit. Kimi gave in to her fears and claimed Jock wholeheartedly. The two together made beautiful music and never needed the pump and circumstance of being famous.

Jock & Kimi! Maaann, I had forgotten Joc was an idiot but I now see why. He was holding so much inside but he just had loose lips all of a sudden. I'm glad he did cause holding all that guilt in would make anybody explode.
Then Kimi trying to be the therapist for everybody was gonna make her pop too. That's why she had all that built up sexual frustration that she was trying to take out on Joc. He liked it, she liked it & I think they go together now.
Ain't no fun if the homey can't have none?

Kimi & Jock

I love the dynamic between Kimi & Jock! Especially when Kimi made Jock use his words to consent during that first encounter. We need more unfiltered Momma Yancy since she hasn't had a man since the 90s: "And make sure he got a rubber cuz I'm too old to be catching the clap". Saying "rubber" is definitely old school 😂😂😂😂

I did not want this book to end. It was quick read, but filled with so much. It was great seeing Jock’s transformation. I love Kimi’s capacity to nurture and heal. I always enjoy these characters from the Crew, and I can’t wait to read more.

Loving This

I love how the crew members are finding love with each other. Jock been through somethings that he shouldn't had to carry for so long. I am glad he was able to redeem himself in my eyes. Kimi is just the woman he needed. Love them together.

Short, sweet, and straight to the point. Jock seemed so toxic and out of control in other books, and now we have a better understanding of the trauma he's dealing with. Kimi is exactly who Jock needs in his life, but she comes with her own baggage.
