“A ghost mystery for readers who don’t usually enjoy the paranormal.”
Book 1 - Steeped in Suspicion When Rosemary Woodmere inherits her estranged grandmother's Victorian teahouse, she doesn’t expect to also inherit a ghost named Asher from the 1920s.
Things get weirder for Rosemary.
Her grandma was supposedly murdered.
A body washes up on the beach, and the police suspect her of the man's murder.
She's trying to navigate her newfound ability to talk to ghosts.
And she doesn't even know the first thing about tea.
Rosemary's experience as a librarian hasn't prepared her to solve a murder, but everyone around her is steeped in suspicion, and she has to find the truth before someone else ends up dead.
Book 2 - Matcha Do About Murder When a local man drops dead after drinking a matcha tea latte, Rosemary Woodmere suspects foul play. As a witness to the murder, she’s called in for questioning.
At the station, she meets a new ghost and learns the town’s police force has a dark past when it comes to covering up murder. She might be off the hook, but can she let the case go when she fears the police might be repeating history?
To make things even more difficult, Rosemary’s life with ghosts is getting complicated. While she searches for the truth about how Asher died, Rosemary attempts to help a local spirit encountering her own difficulties with her death. And while a little ghostly help might give Rosemary a leg up in this case, will it be enough when she comes face-to-face with the real killer?
Book 3 - A Score to Kettle Rosemary is excited to cater her first event at the newly opened commune’s full moon festival. When a young woman is found murdered in her yurt, it’s clear these rich wannabe hippies aren’t as peaceful as they pretend.
As the investigation unfolds, Rosemary realizes these commune members have more secrets than they do trust funds. She can’t help but feel Chief Clemenson is, again, one step behind.
In addition to working the case, being at The Pines provides the perfect opportunity to investigate Asher’s death. Solving any mystery is difficult; solving one over a century old seems almost impossible. But just as Rosemary starts to make headway in both cases, a violent storm rolls in from the sea. Will the wind and rain wash away any hope of finding the murderer?
Eryn Scott is the author of heartwarming cozy mysteries. Her novels feature close friendships and strong families because those are the most important things in her life -- a little humor doesn't hurt either.
She calls the Pacific Northwest home and doesn't plan on changing that anytime soon. Eryn loves to hike, horseback ride, knit, ski, and read. She believes musicals are the greatest thing since lattes, even though she's not particularly good at singing or dancing -- hey, a girl can dream, right?
Her first cozy mystery series, Pepper Brooks, is based on some of the greats in classic literature. Each book features a different author from Shakespeare to Austen. Eryn's newest series is set in a little town called Stoneybrook. The Stoneybrook Mysteries follow local jam-maker Hadley James as she solves mysteries in her town's year-round farmers market. From deceased knitters to sabotaged florists, these crafty citizens keep Hadley and her twin brother, a deputy sheriff, on their toes. Pebble Cove Teahouse Mysteries are great for readers who love a hint of paranormal with their mysteries. These books feature a tiny town tucked between craggy coastline and rocky shores with quirky characters of both the living and non-living variety. Look for new releases from all three of these series in 2022 as well as Eryn Scott's new cozy series.

Book 1: I downloaded this without reading the blurb, thinking it was non-paranormal, and turns out, she can speak with ghosts, so that was a nice surprise. (as paranormals are my favorite lol trying to branch out!) It's the cover though, this series has some of my favorite covers! Instant download just from the cover alone.
At first I was a bit leery of this feeling like everything that could have gone wrong in her life did (don't want to give spoilers), but Rosemary has a lot of baggage. As the story went on, it does a great job at stretching all of those things out, and giving them the breath they need to not leave her seeming like a poor pitiful me type character.
I loved the flow of this story, it did a great job at introducing the town, and setting up the series. The mystery turns into two separate crimes, that has Rosemary talking to the majority of the townsfolk, and visiting many sites around town. I love this because it really let us get to know the area without any info dumping or out of place pop ins. The story does meander in places but it does it in a way that adds depth to Rosemary's emotional turmoil. Not just with her current situation in Pebble Cove, but also the situation she left behind in Portland. She does so much growth in this one book, that the slow parts of the story help it feel like it takes place over a much longer span of time.
All of the characters are quirky, and well developed. They feel like people I've met in my own small town and I look forward to getting to know them in future books. I'm glad that the ghosts feel like they will be as much apart of the cast as the living. So many ghost type books leave them in the sidelines, only using them when it's a must. But these ghosts enteract with Rosemary, same as the townsfolk. I was so EXCITED that romance was not apart of this book at all. YEEEESSSSS.
There were a few twists that I didn't expect, but was totally screaming NO WAY, NOW IT ALL MAKES SENSE when they were revealed. Not everything was solved, and I'm glad because it just makes who they surround a bigger part of the cast, which I was rooting for.
You'll love this mystery if you love cozies that star a mid-twenties, educated sleuth who is working to find her own path in the world.
Book 2: Love how this story is progressing.
I love that the ghosts have their own story line that progresses through out these books. In this installment we get to know many of them better, and discover what is holding a few of them back from passing over.
That being said, I am concerned with Rosemary's mental state. As she spends the majority of her people interacting time, talking to ghosts. If this isn't addressed or keeps up throughout the entire series it's going to make me really depressed for her as a person. She went from being under her mom's supervision to now, and adult woman that only communicates with the dead. With the caveat that I am thankful for no insta-love type plot line happening. These two books are giving a great deal of insight into everyone that lives in Pebble Cove. I just want Rosemary to have some living friends!
The writing in this book is way more flowery than the first book, there are metaphors so often in this story, it starts to pull me out because I can't stop laughing at how ridiculous they are. Not sure why they increased here, but hoping they decrease for book 3.
The mystery for this book was great, I kept rethinking who was really the guilty party, because I kept telling myself, 'there was no way it would be that person' for a few people. The end layout explains a lot about the towns history. I like that these books seems to be solving a cold case, with the current case. Gives more complexity to the town, and the hidden secrets that are berried there.
Rosemary isn't great at everything she touches and I really appreciate that. Her struggles in running the teashop make her character relatable. I look forward to seeing how she grows as a business owner in the next installments.
Book 3: Another great mystery. I love how Eryn winds her mysteries around town, and through the locals plus the ghosts! Makes them complex and fascinating. Her ability to make the ghosts have character arcs, has me forgetting they are ghosts sometimes, which I think is perfection. They aren't just a "oooh the MC can talk to ghosts" throw away part of the plot, but actual people with pasts that need to be reconciled.
Book three brings you more ghosts, more back story, and more closure for all. I absolutely loved it!
While the story is still thick with metaphors, it is down from the previous book, or I am getting used to the flowery descriptions of mundane tasks. I love the cast, and the fact that romance isn't in the series. Rosemary is getting to know the town, and her self better. It's great to watch her grow into an independent person. I still have my fingers crossed that as she finds her self esteem, she will start to make more 'real life' friends, instead of only associating with ghosts. As sad as it will be I am hoping a certain someone will get the closure they deserve and crossover to help Rosemary grow through that loss and lean more on Jolene or another townsperson.
I love that she is becoming a true local in Pebble Cove. No spoilers here. But with the events of this book, I look forward to how it will shape characters and the town in the next book!
These books do spoil the mysteries of the previous in series, so it's important to read them in order. She does sprinkle in all you need to know about the town and characters if you choose to start in the middle of the series though.
Oh wow!!! The only thing I can recommend is unplugging the phone, putting up a do not disturb sign and sitting down with a cup of tea and get ready to be entertained for a couple of hours!!. I don't normally like to listen to a box set all in one go and break the stories up by having a totally different story inbetween, so I don't confuse the story lines but that was not the case with this book and I loved every minute. Each book is just as good as the last and as they continue on from each other this is a great way to enjoy the series. I enjoyed all the books in the authors other series Pepper Brooks Cozy Mystery and Stoneybrook Mysteries, so jumped at the chance of starting a new one, I didn't even read the blurb. This meant I didn't know the different direction the author was going to take with this series (non of her other series has a paranormal side to it) but I just loved it. The ghostly help really added to the investigation and were just a delight and the concept of a Cat being mayor is my kind of town. The human characters were just as much fun and I hope I don't have long to wait for the next box set.
Book 1 - Steeped in Suspicion The mystery was good and I liked how just when you had things all wrapped up it takes a different turn and with a number of suspects there was already a lot of twists. A well thought out plot that I really enjoyed and makes for a brilliant start to a new series. Rosemary returns to the coastal town of Pebble Cove after the death of her estranged Grandmother. She has inherited her not only her house but also her tea shop business. The problem is she has to share it with a ghost. Asher is from the 1920s and died during the war, he is also the first ghost she has meet. But that is not the most shocking thing she learn upon arrival first Asher drops the bombshell that her grandmother was murdered and then they find a dead body washed up on the shore. The police are quick to discover he has a connection with Rosemary, well a piece of paper with her number on. Not having visited the small town since she was a young girl, Rosemary will have to learn all about her new neighbours and the long running fueds or arguments her grandmother had. If Rosemary is to avoid being arrested she will also have to relie on help from the towns ghosts, which also includes Meow the cat who was the towns Mayor for a number of years and who her grandmother was a bit supporter of. Will solving the strangers death also lead to proof that her grandmother was murdered and eventually to her killer? And if she can see ghosts why hasn't she seen the one person she wants to see most?
Book 2 - Matcha Do About Murder I think this was my favourite book in the set, as you learnt a lot more about the ghosts already in Rosemary's life. I just love the whole ghost aspect to the stories it adds a fun element to the books, especially when they get involved in helping solve the murder and the way Rosemary has to cover up her odd behaviour or in the case of a certain ghost over come his hindrance. . The mystery side was also interesting and kept me guessing, I never did guess the killer, despite the clues. Rosemary decides to check out the competition and pays a visit to the other tea shop in town. Only for the man sitting at the next table to her, to keel over and die. Just after after complaining loudly the tea was horrible. He was the ex of the owner but did she really hate him enough to kill him in such a public fashion? The police are quickly on the scene, too quickly? And it seems everybody has a soft spot for the man's widow, including the police chief. Rosemary has her hands full running her own tea shop and doing research on her ghost friend, she has no intention of interfering but her neighbour asks her to investigate when it looks like the police are focusing in on his friend, an ex felon. Can Rosemary get any help from the ghosts in town to help solve this murder or is there going to be another cover up?
Book 3 - A Score to Kettle Another good story, where I didn't even have the killer on my radar. Rosemary and her new partner are excited to be catering there first bit event, the only problem is its to be held where a murder tried to killer and is just one of the reasons why Asher her friendly ghost isn't happy about it. The other reason is it is being hosted by the great great grandson of the man who stole his girlfriend and possibly killer him. Rosemary can't turn the job down and there is a lot of buzz and speculation about the new communion opening up there. Asher was right to worry when one of Rosemary's new tea kettles goes missing and a young girl is found dead. Can Rosemary find another killer and at the same time uncover some secrets about Ashers death? She will once again need some help from her ghostly friends but even a thunderstorm won't stop her from finding the truth, even if a policeman just wishes she would stay out of it. I really liked the narrator. She is just perfect for the characters and it's almost as if the story comes alive in front of your eyes. I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.
I started reading this series after reading the first few of this author's Morrissey series, while waiting for the next book in that series to come out. Unfortunately, while I love the characters in the Morrissey series, I don't in this one. I'm having a particularly hard time with the female main character, Rosemary. She's abrupt to the point of rudeness at times, hides things from people she shouldn't, is impulsive, and has foot in mouth disease among other things. None of these flaws are terrible and could actually make her more likable if done in the right way, but I just can't connect with her. I have seen a smidge of character growth in her over the 3 books and I'm hopeful that will continue.
While Rosemary is the biggest problem for me, I also don't like the townspeople overall. They're just kind of awful to those they see as outsiders, including Rosemary.
The mysteries themselves are fine. Not super realistic or intense, but interesting and well paced, which is good in a cosy mystery.
I do like the character of Asher, and am interested in finding out more about his story and background. He's the main reason I'll continue at least a bit further with the series.
While I wouldn't necessarily recommend this series at this point, I would recommend checking out this author's Morrissey series. I think that a lot of the flaws in this series are corrected in that series and that the author has improved overall as a writer.
Rosemary didn't know how much she needed a friend until she met Asher. Figuring out he was a ghost didn't change anything, well not much. These are fun stories about a quirky small town, its ghostly, and grumpy residents and the murder and mayhem that comes to town. I enjoyed a few cups of tea while reading these for the second time. A great way to spend a rainy weekend. The rain hasn't let up so I'm on to the next box set of Pebble Cove.
Oh how I loved this series as it was extremely entertaining. The writing is intriguing and intricate creating a fantastic read. I didn’t want to put the book down. Pebble Cove is such a quant town with interesting characters and the twists and turns in this set was very pleasing.
I really enjoyed the first three books in this series and I’m excited to find out if Abagail killed Asher or not! Omg! Rosemary and Asher are meant to be together I believe wouldn’t it be fun if he was reincarnated or something equally cool 😎 hmm lol anyway I’m absolutely loving this series! Thank you Eryn Scott!
I have so far read books 1-3, and am loving it. The bond between Rosie & Asher is amazing. Other character I love are; Carl, Daphne and the newest friend, Jolene. The series is great!! Now onto the next books in the series..
I enjoyed this box set completely. I wasn't sure about reading Pebble Cove but I was hooked from the first page. I just love the writing and Rosemary and Asher are very interesting. Such a unique relationship. I'm looking forward to the next three books!
Cute and cozy series! Perfect for a casual read since there’s no romance or gore or anything like that. It’s a lot of learning about the small town and the histories of the people who have lived in it, uncovering their secrets and solving mysteries while doing so.
A fantastic and wonderful collection of stories. Being able to see and talk to ghosts is a special skill. Humour, and suspense all the way to the end. Ready for more.
I loved reading the first three stories in this wonderful series by author Eryn Scott. Love the awesome characters. Can't wait to read more in this amazing series...
The ghosts don't bother me at all! I'm not a fan of paranormal stories but these don't read that way at all. I really enjoyed the 1st three books and will enjoy the next three as well
This series is for those who love a good mystery. The characters are so lovely and so relatable. I just love the relationship between them all. I highly recommend.
The first three books were fun. Clean Paranormal with ghosts solving mysteries with a human. Because of the POV format, there is a lot of repetition. However, over all it was entertaining. I did start the next three book set.
