Whisper A Promise was such a cute read. That Zion was a handful and a half. He was hood, rude, slick at the mouth, and had very little manners. If I don't give AF was a person, it would be Zion Knight. He may be from the hood but, Zion has a sensitive side and he had no problem putting it on display for Sidney. Zion has been crushin' on Sidney since they were in college but, she wouldn't take him seriously because he was such a man whore. After breaking up with her fiancée, Sidney moves back to Atlanta and Zion wasted no time letting her know she was going to be his. These two were an interesting dynamic. Sydney had a career as a nurse and Zion was a drug dealer. Sydney grew up on a farm sheltered by her overprotective brothers and Zion grew up in the hood. They essentially had zero in common but, that didn't stop their years long attraction to each other. I loved that there was absolutely zero drama in this book. While Sydney was a little apprehensive about jumping into a new relationship so quickly after her break-up, she didn't make Zion work hard for her at all. He slid right on in and claimed his woman. Whisper A Promise was a really good book. The author did a great job with the development of these characters. Black love was on full display. M. Monique is quickly becoming one of my faves.

Obviously I avoid crazy men in real life but I’m learning that my preference in fictional baes is unhinged and madly in love/borderline obsessed. 🤣 Zion’s reckless self was all of those things and more lmao. He had been crushing on Syd since college so when she finally gave him the green light, he was all in without holding anything back. I knew Zion was nasty after reading A Friend U Can Keep, but I was pleasantly surprised by how sweet he turned out to be in this one. I need another book with an update on this friend group!

Zion!!! Lawd Hammercy!
This author has won over a new reader, a new fan! Engaging storyline, great character development, sexy scenes and a chemistry between the leads that ignite every pages read are the essential components to a great book and this author nails it! Let me quickly say that Grey will always be my bae and Caesar by side dude but baybeee Zion is a whole 'nother bae package...whew, lawd hammercy! The way he loved and protected Sydney had me wanting to search for him in daylight with a flashlight! Bottom line, this is a must read. Going back to her catalog to read more of her works!

Great quick read. This novella is spicy 🌶️🌶️. I enjoyed it from the beginning to the end. The ending was great. I thought it was going to be a plot twist and it was, but not a bad way. Just read the damn book.

Sidney x Zion
First thing I'll say is, Sidney and Zion were nastyyy. They could not keep their hands to themselves. Always getting it in and it's always like the first time for them. It was cute. Zion loved her body. But this story was enjoyable. Zion was this street, hood niģğâ, he's feared and respected by all, but when it comes to Sidney, he was as soft as can be. He loved his family, he loved his boys and their girls, and most importantly, he loved Sidney. I loved their journey.
Though I love M. Monique's stories, they are somewhat predictable in a way. Always a hood, tatted, gold or fang wearing, bearded, EDUCATED dude who loves EXTREMELY hard. But her stories are enjoyable, so 🤷🏾♀️

Have mercyyyyy!!! This book was hotter than New Orleans in July. I loved how Sidney & Zion knew they were meant for one another. The close knit friendships made me want to fire my friends 🤣 I loved their support of one another. The greatest lesson here is never be afraid to walk away from what isn’t serving you & start over… it could be the best new beginning that leads to you finding YOUR soulmate !

Hood Promise's
While this was not my usual cup of tea to read, I'm a sucker for love and romance and this book had all of that, plus much more.
Sydney seemed really sweet and very loyal. I loved that she was focused on her schooling and career, yet wish she would've been just as much that way with her ex fiance, Mark. As the story progressed, she began to realize that she never truly cared or loved him and to me that was a huge waist of her time. I wish the author would've given more into why Sydney didn't give Zion a true chance before Mark. I get that he wasn't all the way her type, I guess, yet he didn't give me any vibes that he would hurt her or play games with her. I'm glad she finally did give him a true chance and fell head first into a relationship with him. He was truly a great match for her. I loved how she was there for him when the health scare of his father came about. I also loved the relationship she already had with Zions parents and how much they loved her as a daughter-in-law already. Same for her parents; they loved Zion like they loved their own son's. The family bond was so great.
Zion was a hood dude and not ashamed of it. He was chasing the gap that Sydney left, once she decided to be with Mark and not him. Yet once she was back, he went all in making sure to claim her as his once and for all. I liked that he made his intentions very clear from jump, without being over pushy about it. Sydney seemed to respond very well to how he handled her and it only seemed to solidify that they were truly meant for each other. The way he cared for her, was vulnerable enough to be himself and allow for her to see his true emotions when it came to his parents, was everything. He didn't waste time because there had already been enough time wasted in the years they'd know each other, yet didn't date and the fact that she left to another state to be with another man. He wasn't letting her go and showed her that his heart was hers. A fierce protector and lover.
This was a good read. The author did a good job of allowing for Sydney and Zion to be the main focus, while giving you a really good look into the relationships and dynamics of the other characters as well.
My first M. Monique book, yet definitely not the last. Good read

Your writing has a way of drawing people in. I get so caught up in your books that I tune everything and everybody out until I have to go to the restroom or just finish the book. Mark, was a pompous ass. Mark thought the word owed him something. I was glad Sidney, left his lowdown dirty behind. Let me talk about Zion! Bae, had it going on. Zion claimed his woman. I said get her Zion.😂😂. Sidney couldn't think of nothing but Zion, after he put that good lovin on her. Poor lil Kami, couldn't buy herself a good day how lil Ceaser had her so sick. I loved the 6 of them friendship. Dante, and Alia's relationship was so loving. M. Monique, keep striving and putting your books out there lovely. Reading is my favorite pass time, especially when it's a very good book. Patiently waiting on the next one.

Another page turner 🤩
All Zion needed was Sidney and when she came back and Zion found out she was free he didn’t even wait to go get his woman. I loved that everyone knew and spoke it about Zion and Sidney being meant to be. I’m glad they didn’t do a lot of back and forth because it wasn’t worth it. Sidney’s ex was the true definition of fboy, and talked about Zion smh never judge a book by its cover for sure. Them scenes with Zion and Sidney had me fanning myself because GAWD 🤣🤣🤣.

This is the second book I've read by this author and she is crazy talented! I refused to put this book down, I read it all in a matter of hours. Zion and Sidney were so cute but so sexy! Mark didn't deserve her, but he definitely deserved everything he got and more towards the end of the book. I'm glad that Sidney finally realized how perfect Zion was for her! This book was TOO GOOD, I really enjoyed it!

I'm going to get Zion's name tatted on my neck, lol! I knew that everything wasn't all peaches n' cream in Denver. Sid and Zion were so cute together. I don't know what made Mark come in and try to strong arm Sid knowing that Zion, Ceasar, Dante, and her brothers were going to rock in to sleep. Overall, this was a great read!!! Can't wait for your next book.

Man this author is on point with every book she has dropped. I love me some Zion. He was not playing with Sidney. He lived her first so long and you could feel the love flowing. Baby those sex scenes were everything. She should've been having triplets lol. Each couple was unique and I how everything came to fruition. Great job. She has definitely become one of my one click authors

This was such a good book! I love when a woman knows her worth. The friendship between the ladies and the fellas was on point. Then the fact that Sidney’s 4 brothers were crazy over her was icing on the cake. There was generations of good love and marriage goals in this way!
