No Flat Squirrels is a theory of business based on the premise that quick, intelligent decision-making is crucial for both drivers and squirrels in order to reach the intended goal without needless delay, suffering, or death.In my mid-forties I learned a lesson that I wish I’d learned a lot earlier in life. The lesson was Sometimes it’s better to be quiet than to be right. I’m embarrassed to admit that I first recognized the importance of this adage in the context of my career as a consultant to healthcare organizations and medical professionals, rather than in my personal life. I wish it had been the other way around. Ed Pershing, CPA, has founded or co-founded over a dozen companies, including a Top 100 accounting firm which also ranks in the top 20 of health care consulting firms; as well as nationally recognized companies in real estate, healthcare claims auditing, and data analytics. He currently serves as the Chairman of the Board of a drug development company, focused on oncology, dermatology, and other diseases, in both humans and animals.
