No Flat Squirrels is a theory of business based on the premise that quick, intelligent decision-making is crucial for both drivers and squirrels in order to reach the intended goal without needless delay, suffering, or death.In our youth we often hear adults speaking about the importance of lessons learned. Unfortunately, I, like most everyone during their younger years, often failed to heed advice and thus frequently suffered from totally avoidable consequences. I suspect we’ve all regretted youthful misdeeds and mistakes—particularly the latter when they were avoidable if only we’d adhered to the lessons others shared with us. Ed Pershing, CPA, has founded or co-founded over a dozen companies, including a Top 100 accounting firm which also ranks in the top 20 of health care consulting firms; as well as nationally recognized companies in real estate, healthcare claims auditing, and data analytics. He currently serves as the Chairman of the Board of a drug development company, focused on oncology, dermatology, and other diseases, in both humans and animals.
