Listen, I am a Delaney Diamond fan. I’ve never been disappointed in a single book that she’s written. But when I started reading, I thought Rashad was about to bring that streak to an end. I did not like him. And didn’t want Layla to like him. But I kept on reading, and I’m glad I did.
My heart really went out to Rashad. He was trying to protect his heart and his secret, but was hurting himself in the process. Layla was the perfect partner for him, and I was so happy when he finally opened up to her. The reunion that occurs at the end had me fighting back tears.
Sorry for doubting you, Ms. Diamond. Thanks for sharing your gift with us!
I wasn’t sure about this book, but it slowly grew on me. Rashad had trust issues and lost Layla twice. He had a very painful past and finally opened up to her. They got their HEA.
2nd chance, more like forgive 70x70. This was not lighthearted and should really come with trigger warnings, or maybe I missed that memo. Ready to finish this series and never return.
Sad how badly the sins of the parents can negatively impact the children! Such was the case with the suave debonair Rashad who was so afraid of how people would react to his familial problems chose to hide them from the one person who was in all the way with him from the very beginning. That person was the beautiful, smart and loyal Layla, personal assistant to a high powered businessman Ethan. Ethan paid her a hefty salary with perks most of us can only dream of and without any harassment of any kind to boot. Needless to say Rashad and Layla went through their own set of obstacles the first time around and the second time seemed to be heading in the same direction until Rashad mounted the courage to tell Layla all about the secret of his father's crimes and his mother's abandonment. This story chronicles how leaving secrets as secrets can derail the best of relationships. It can also stop the person with the secrets from ever getting closure or finding peace. I am glad he realized that the people who matter knowing his secrets, would not blame him for the crimes of his dad. In fact I consider Rashad to not only be a success story but a hero for being the catalyst that led to his father getting what he deserved. Reuniting with his mother and other members of his family he did not even know existed raised the cry bar in this story for me. Great story and really good characters that displayed loads of love and friendship for each other. You did it again Delaney! Now on to Dana's story next!
This was a very good book about trust. Layla and Rashed’s chemistry was good and Rashed had trust issues which caused problems in their relationship. Kudos to Delaney Diamond on another good book.
This was an excellent vacation read! The length was perfect and the story well developed. While Rashad and Layla did not initially have a long relationship, what they did have left such an impact that even three years later they can’t resist.
OK that got deep QUICKLY! The way I wanted to box Rashad about his ears, and I felt Layla th whole time. I am all about a) not wasting my time and b) not having me looking stupid out here. ALL HE HAD TO DO WAS... anyway.
Delaney be writing her tail off. This series is my catnip. Loving it.
Rashad…sexy chocolate. Layla…beautiful and confident who demands better than Rashad left her. Why can’t she move on? That’s what love does. Is it better the second time around?
Didn’t like Rashad at first and I was about to give up reading. I’m glad I didn’t. His character developed as the story progressed. And I began to understand him a bit more. I wish we got a sneak peak of his reasoning earlier… Mm Nice love story between Layla and Rashad.
This story just did not do it for me. I think this is my first two star rating on anything that Delaney Diamond has written, that I have read. Good story but just wasn't for me. Still waiting on the next in the series.
This was a great end to the series. Ms. Diamond touched in some deep issues and treated them with respect, while not allowing them to becoming too overwhelming. The reactions of her characters came across a real, genuine and not plastic. Loved it!
Layla wanted all of Rashad. But whatever was holding him back was definitely affecting his relationship with Layla. Communication is all it takes. Layla is different from any woman he has been with. I'm glad he was able to see that once his secret was revealed.
I loved the storyline! Somewhere in life this is someone's life. Layla and Rashad Love and story was deep!!! Five stars in my book. Yes I would recommend this book and writer to my friends and family!
Another great story by Delaney Diamond! What a beautiful story of redemption! I can't even formulate the right words of phrase for another masterpiece. Just wish my App would work to indulge even more! Great great read! Two thumbs up!
This book in the series shows me that the author maintains her grasp to entertain me for a couple hours. I was expecting a romantic HEA and gained another happy ending too. The author amazes and fascinates me with vivid and engrossing narratives.
