In this award-winning children's chapter book, you'll meet the mysterious and inquisitive Boba. Boba is tiny, but she has a large need to know things. Her mama has warned her about eavesdropping a million times, but Boba just can’t seem to help herself. Come along to find out why Boba's need to know has gotten her into a world of trouble!
I absolutely loved reading my son this story. It was so cute and unique and I loved the story line. I think it's one of the best children's books I've read in a while. Well done!
In A Nose Apart, readers are introduced to Boba—a pint-sized, wide-eyed wonder with an insatiable curiosity and a nose that’s always sniffing out secrets. Though small in stature, Boba’s desire to understand the world around her is enormous. Despite her mama’s many warnings against eavesdropping, Boba just can’t seem to resist—and that very curiosity soon lands her in a heap of unexpected trouble.
This award-winning children’s chapter book is both a charming adventure and a gentle lesson in boundaries, trust, and the consequences of not listening. Debbie masterfully crafts a vibrant world filled with memorable characters—some sweet, others not so much—all of whom add texture and meaning to Boba’s journey.
Boba herself is irresistible: clever, quirky, and entirely relatable for young readers who may also struggle with the urge to “know it all.” The narrative flows with playful energy and emotional depth, drawing readers—both young and young at heart—deep into the heart of the story.
What makes A Nose Apart even more special is the way it subtly raises awareness and promotes acceptance for children with Down syndrome. Through Boba’s unique perspective and her challenges, the story becomes a gentle celebration of differences and a reminder of the beauty found in every child’s way of seeing the world.
Debbie’s storytelling is warm, witty, and immersive. Perfect for independent readers or shared storytime, A Nose Apart delivers excitement, mischief, and a valuable takeaway wrapped in a delightful package. A true gem for all ages.
A well-written, easily grasped story with believable characters who (and this is my favorite part) take responsibility for their actions and opinions thus learning something! Very rare in this day and age, so I recommend this book for anyone, but especially for children who will benefit the most from this simple lesson.
