The few short hours since he’d emerged from the coma had felt incredible. He’d finally been free of the guilt and pain, and for the first time since Jonah’s death, he had felt truly happy and optimistic about the future.
He’d survived the transition into immortality, had been accepted into the clan, and was about to marry the most wonderful woman on the face of the planet, his true love mate, his salvation, his everything. What could have possibly gone wrong?
I absolutely love this series. it's 46 books in and I'm not even getting bored with it at all,in fact it's the opposite. After I finish every book I simply can't wait for the next one. If you are reading this review and have not read any of the books in this series, I am jealous of the fact that you get to read all of them for the first time, without having to wait for the next one. Now the author is very good with getting us the books out every month so it's not to bad lol. Every 3 to 4 books follow a specific character or characters on their journey, but even when you are finished and go to the next 3 or 4 books of the series, you will still hear about, and get the perspective of, characters from other books in the series. If you haven't read this series and you like this genre, please give it a chance. You won't regret it. If you have been reading this series and you are reading this review, what are you waiting for? Get the book already because you know your going to and you know you are going to love it.
One thing I love about this series is diving into the world of immortals. With Mei, Jin and now Vrog, we’ve got the start of a whole new line of immortals. It may not progress far in the next book, but like when Lokan and Kalugal were first introduced , I’m sure that it will be developed at the right time. I like where the series is going and that even though Kalugal is more benevolent, he’s still got issues that he needs to work through. I look forward to seeing if my theories about David’s family will pan out. Even though this book ended with less of a cliffhanger than usual, I will be counting the days until the next one is released!
Spoiler alerts !!! This installment was filled with many, many different aspects of the overall storyline, and finally a reveal about Stella's Secret !! Which also brings up many new questions, And a new storyline path ?! I think that There must be something real about the Krall race, The Immortals having come from them, for them to come up with the virtual reality fantasy about them ? It must be subconsciously some of them realize where they came from ? And Stella's experience with Vrog makes me believe that that's where the Immortals came from originally. And his leader is one of the original race, and maybe some of her underlings as well ??!!
There was a lot about David's family which hasn't happened before, so I'm assuming there must be a reason, which will be revealed later on? Maybe it's just to introduce Lisa, and her and Parker will be destined mates? But they are so young still. Then there is who's following Lokan and why? where that will lead? Then there's the upcoming undercover op for Kri and Eleanor in the cult, and Kalugal and his men moving into the village, which opens the way for many, many more romances and destined mates ! You would think after 46 books, the series would get old or stale, yet it never does ! I get just as excited for the next book as I did reading the first one !!!

Dark Secret Absolved is book 46 in the Children of the Gods series and the finale of the Dark Secrets trilogy. This is the story of David and Sari. The Fates have been defiantly been working overtime, David has transitioned but a family crisis brings his mother and younger sister into the fold of Immortals. Stella and Richard finally bond—it is her secret that brings them together. With a new female line (David’s female relatives) and Stella’s secret… new possible storylines leave one to wonder where we are going.
If you haven’t read the spin-off series, you might want to after reading this. It will enrich this book and open up more contemplation. Highly recommend all I.T. Lucas books. This is a 5-star series.
There was a lot of excitement and disappointment in this one.
I mostly skipped everything dealing with Stella, well skimmed anyway, because no one wants to read all her ridiculous thoughts of pending doom and gloom and irrationality. But I could read all of Richard’s POVs. The author has introduced a new element to the story, well not really new, but links to what we’ve learned about Jin and Mey. It also seems to link to Syssi’s vision that was dismissed about the Krall. Funny how that was dismissed but in any other thing they stand behind her visions wholeheartedly. 🙄🙄
I think Bowen has a crush on an “older” woman. Also, I’m happy to discover that Vlad was not a product of incest as I initially thought when Stella’s secret came about. It still didn’t explain why she acts “weird” as they say…🤷🏽♀️
Sweet little Parker may have a girlfriend soon.. then again, there is a twenty year old in Scotland that could be a possibility for our new dormant, when she finishes high school of course… and on that note, we can’t forget about Gordon. 😉
See my notes and highlights on Goodreads. Happy reading!
Dark Secrets Absolved KU 314 pgs **** 8/21/21 Prof. David & Sari (Scotland)
4 stars. Great trilogy of David and Sari. They were fun, exciting, and never dull. Their chemistry was good, not great, but better than most of the characters. Transitioning happens for more than one character in this book, and it was good adds to the clan. I loved David’s mother and Sister and I really hope we get to see much more of them in the books to come. Richard and Stella were an okay read but still pretty dull and boring, at least they are together, and we won’t have to read a lot about them anymore, just pop ins. Of course, Kian, Kalugal, all the girls were awesome in this book, I just love those main characters and soak up everything about them when they pop up in the stories. I am so happy that Kian and Kalugal are more like brothers now, there is still a tad bit of paranoia on both ends but it is so much better. I did miss Lokan in this book though.
This book was better than the last however there’s some character inconsistencies I’ve noticed and there’s some added teen dram that is not needed and makes it sound creepy and cringe. Also I’m not invested in the story of Richard and Stella because their characters were flat and would rather of seen more of Eleanor character.
I understand these are quick reads but now I feel like characters are being rushed. Instead of putting three main character stories, one book could be used to develop a couple before introducing the next character.
I’m 46 books in and I think this might be my last one. Yes the story was better than the last book but as I mentioned the characters are flat and starting to sound like other characters. The story lines and plots are being rushed. If the characters name wasn’t said after a line I probably wouldn’t be able to differentiate who it was.
Dark Secrets Absolved (The Children of the Gods Paranormal Romance Book 46) - I.T. Lucas
These books are so much more than a main romance story of a particular couple, this one being David and Sari, but also a flawless interweaving of many storylines within the main background that is the world of the Children of the Gods. The possible addition of a whole new race of immortals related to Mei and Jin’s background holds so many possibilities. The heroines in the series are all strong women as well that are great examples of feminity combined with assertive strength. The mated couples prove to be true teams as well. The other storylines continue so there is not a chapter forwards the many storylines and keeps readers excited for what will be coming up. Book 47 will hopefully be here soon!
The series was getting good again and moving forward, but I feel like this one kinda fell off. There was too much space dedicated to Richard and Stella's virtual reality story. I suppose Stella's "secret" it's going to play a part in future books and there had to be a way to get to it, but was that really necessary?
I also felt like there was too much time spent on David's family. But I figure his sister's potential dormancy will come into play soon, so that needed to be framed as well, but again was it necessary to spend so much time on that?
There wasn't really much to lead us into the next book, but I'll be reading it anyway... after reading 46 books, would it make sense to stop now?
Kalugal is still my favorite character from this series. Glad Richard finally transitioned, although I didn't get anything from his virtual experience with Stella. The only interesting twist was that Jin and Meg might be related to Vlad and come from the same clan from China. Sissy using her visions to help David find his parents was cool. Finally, introducing the new characters, Anastacia and Leon is promising more adventures. Its been a while since the team went on a mission. As always I.T. Lucas is a master at storytelling.
This book as usual was so much fun to read. Lisa is a hoot and I can’t wait to read more of her. Especially as she grows up, who she’ll fall for, what her gifts are etc. Yeah, like everyone else I’ve fallen under the Lisa spell. So much happened in this one. Love love love the new plot twist!!! I for one can’t wait to read more! When do we get to meet them? Have we already through the fantasy vacations? Emm?? Next we’re off to the cult which means we get more of Eleanor plus a love interest for Anastasia. I wonder who it is? Bowen maybe? Sooo excited!!!
Dark Secrets Absolved is book 46 of I.T. Lucas The Children of the Gods series. Richard finally gets the answer the waited so long for.... Is he a dormant? David and Sari must go though a trying time on order go find their happiness. Good thing time isn't an issue of you're immortal. This series continues to grow and bring on more characters to enjoy. Each new book is an adventure of itself.
I.t. skipped over David's successful transition and Cannabis explanation when it starts but the story is still included in this book. It seems as though I read faster when I read this series. Its because the stories are just that good that you can't put them down. This one is no different. More characters more dormants and more love and survival stories. Keep them coming Miss Lucas!!!
I loved the first handful of books in this series, but I feel like the author is losing their focus. The stories aren’t as fun lately and the characters are seeming a bit more pretentious. I rather the author put out less books and put more thought into the stories. I hope the last five or so blah books are building to something exciting. After reading 46 books I’d be sad if they don’t get better. I miss book one days.
46 books in and still haven't got bored! There are so many characters and story lines to explore is this series, as well as being full on hot romance. I'm the first to admit romances aren't really my thing and quite often they make me eye roll, but this series doesn't. There is always a good story to go along with the obvious romance that is going to happen.
Love meeting new characters and getting to know others better.
Not quite half way through the series yet, but ya know what? I'm loving it!! Love the characters, the relationships between the fates mates, the family members the quirky ways they have & babies are going start popping up here, there and everywhere what's not to love. We all love a good HEA don't we😉😊.
Keep up the good writing I.T.Lucas your doing a grand job!!!
Although it wasn’t as fast paced or riveting as some of the books, I enjoyed it. Enjoyed the new people introduced and the different situations covered. I think Lisa is going to be an asset to the Clan in the future. I’m looking forward to the next book and the undercover sting.
This book is another great addition to the series! New interesting characters are incorporated into the book opening up ways for our favorite immortals to meet possible dormants and their families. There has been a lot of changes for the clan as of late and more seem to be occurring daily!
There is so much going on in this book, some are dad and some are extremely exciting. We finally learn Stella's secret, as she and Richard make their coupling more official. We learn more about David's family and we get some more insight to Eleanor and her beau. I look forward to seeing what the Fates have in store for these clans next.
I really thought that I would be bored right now. That all the books will look the same, with the same plot, etc. In fact, it’s true that the books revolved in an immortal situation with a transition situation but that is abou it for the same thing. The plots are very well thought and well written. I look forward to reading book 47!
As with all the prior books in this series ....each is unique and as captivating as the last....I started reading this series using the Kindle Unlimited feature and loved it so much that I went back and purchased all of the books .... I have now included this series and this author as “keepers”
Overall a good love story. No big action or drama. We get to meet David's Mother and sister. I find it strange how quickly Kian and Sari allow them to move into the village. How quickly they just tell David's sister everything as if there are no rules. I look forward to the next installment and hope there is more action and we get more of the original characters back in the story.
I love these books, the world building is so complex. I can’t wait to see how this all plays out. There is so much going on with the various characters, it just keeps building.
Sari and David. Sari is very paranoid but other than that I loved this story and I couldn’t have ask for a better ending, so happy for Richard. I also like Eleanor story it going to be a while before I like her but I will give it time.
This one was packed to overflowing. I don’t think there was a single character missing from some plot or subplot in this book. The relationship between Kian and Kalugal is so real. It’s finally family and it’s just getting better and better.
I can’t believe how much I love this series. I never want it to end. I feel as if I know each character personally through their stories. Not one book is the same, but all beautifully written and entertaining. R.N.
I can NOT wait until the next release. This series has everything. Mystery. Intrigue. Romance. Biting. Spanking. Family. Conspiracy. And world wide situations. Loving it every time
I was disappointed with this book. It was slow moving and it barely keep my interest. At least they finally had Richard become immortal!! That was one of the very few highlights! I sure hope the next book is back up to par!!
No 46 and still as exciting as the first one! Not many authors can do that. These books will keep you wanting more and more and she delivers every time. A must read for anyone who likes paranormal romance!
I love this series. Kian is so serious and Syssi is his perfect match. I would love to see Sari move her clan to the United States. It would be nice to see who the mysterious clan is.
