She's the Domme with a secret...or two. He's the Dom with a twist.
Constance Monroe knows the importance of balancing the good and bad in life. As a psychologist and a Mistress, she helps other people achieve what she can't seem to—find happiness. With a full patient schedule, a hectic home life taking care of a depressed paraplegic, and the fallout from neglecting her own needs, Connie is in trouble she can't talk her way out of.
The Masters of Avalon take matters into their own hands, determined not to let their friend slip into a place she can't come back from, but the Mistress is just as determined to handle things by herself, her own way, to keep her secrets safe.
When Thane Isaacson first lays eyes on the curvy Domme, she stirs something inside him. Given the opportunity to help the Masters on their quest to keep her safe from herself, there's no way he can say no. Wounded from an old accident, battle-scarred and wise beyond his years, Thane's familiar with the undercurrents of turmoil running under Connie's skin.
As their bond forms, and trust grows between them, can the Domme submit?
I continue to enjoy this series, but the female protagonist in this has frustrated me since the first book in the series and the book where she's a central character makes her make even less sense.
Talk for Me is Connie and Thane’s story, and they took me on another rollercoaster of emotions. She was getting very close to hitting her limits, but refused to accept help from anyone. Being a psychologist herself, she should’ve seen what was happening, but you know the saying, right? Doctors are the worst patients……and she didn’t even get to the patient stage! It hurt to watch her self destruct, and i was glad the Masters decided to intervene.
Connie was barely hanging on,she felt she was failing in taking care of Bodie’s sister Alicia. Bodie was dealing with a lot of things that were wearing her down,Archie may have been accepting her help in dealing with hers, but she wasn’t doing as well as she should, and now she had a new patient that had been let down by everyone, and was going to need a LOT of help to deal with her traumas. So,the Masters decided an intervention was necessary, and Atticus was the best choice to bring a side she’d been suppressing for too long back to the light. It was time to face the trauma she’d suffered all those years ago,and embrace the person she really was. Only problem was that she knew him too well, and wasn’t cooperating….. But there was another solution,a Master that she didn’t know…..or rather, another Switch. Thane was new to the area, and had a better chance of getting through to her. In fact,he volunteered because he was interested in getting to know her. And being a Switch, like Connie,he was the perfect choice!
Not only did Thane help Connie, they grew close. It may only have been a matter of weeks, but they grew so close that they were looking at a future together. If only Thane’s past remained where it should’ve….in the past. Because when it came for him,it had the power to destroy everything!
Another wonderful story of a couple in Club Avalon that evoked all of my emotions. It was good to see how Connie and Thane had everyone at their back, ready to help with whatever they needed. It shows that family doesn’t need to be the one you’re born into…..it’s the people you care about the most, and they return those feelings,in spades.
Woah! Again another deep deep story with lots of kink and drama! I like Connie and could relate. I think if I was in to their kink I would be a switch too. Enjoying both sides. Connie went through a great deal and tended to swallow it instead of dealing with it. Thane was a dream man. Lots of drama happened just like the other books. Great captivating read!
This story was full of love, compassion and care but it also was filled with drama and characters past crashing into the future. Connie has worn herself thin, doing too much for everyone else without self care for her own well-being. Her friends have noticed and have stepped up to help her out. Thane enters her life and it is just what Connie needs but she is so headstrong that she challenges and struggles with her submission. But Thane is patient and kind. I loved this story so much because it is full of emotion and the characters are so real and believable.
Right from the start, this book pulled me in. Connie is a Domme at Avalon and professionally a psychologist who is basically burning the candle at both ends...with those ends getting closer together. Her friends stage an intervention and it sort of backfires. Enter Thane. He's looking for a club to join and is intrigued by Connie. Secrets are slowly revealed and Connie makes a huge mistake. With all her friends looking for her, Thane is the one who finds her. Atticus (I love him) charges Thane with taking care of Connie. When Thane's past comes back and puts both of them in serious danger, it's time to call in the one man who can help. But will it be too late? What? You think I'm gonna say what happens? Lol This story, well really Connie's story, broke me and I cried like a baby. I went through the whole range of emotions while reading this and it's really a good idea to read the first 2 books so you will know who everyone is. They are an important part of this story. Out of the three books, this one is my favorite so far. Just a warning, there are possible triggers so this is your warning.
Connie and Thane will pull you in from the start. Connie has so much in her life weighing her down. Being a psychologist, she has been shouldering everyone's problems and not take time to deal with her problems.
The Masters of Club Avalon are afraid that Connie will emotionally go somewhere that she cannot come back from. The push to get the submissive side to come out. She doesn’t notice Thane the few times he was at Club Avalon until he talks to her. Thane fell in love with her the moment he saw her. Att thinks that Thane is just the right Dominant to tame the Domme.
There are so many emotional highs and lows in their story. I could relate with Connie on dealing with life stressors and not knowing what to do about it. This is yet another amazing story of the Masters and Mistress of Club Avalon. I have fallen in love with each of the characters and cannot wait to see what comes next.
Woah the series just keeps getting deeper! Dang is there someone that hasn’t had trauma in this series? It’s getting way out of hand sometimes. The kink is hot.,,way! Thane was so perfect for Connie.
Another wonderfully written installment of the best ever BDSM club series- Club Avalon. I love how Kay Elle Parker takes us on a journey of emotions, grabbing us from the very start and never letting us go. In Talk For Me we get to know more about the reigning Domme of Club Avalon- Connie. We get to see her from a different angle, the vulnerable and emotional side of her, the side that needs and most importantly deserves kind nurturing love. It is difficult not to identify with Connie; her strength and determination is accentuated by her ability to accept her gentler side, embracing all her vulnerabilities. Though she fights tooth and nail to keep that side away from the world, Thane comes in as a force of nature to show her that it takes real strength to expose your vulnerabilities. Thane is so in tuned with Connie and what she needs, that feels as if he can read her mind. Thane's confidence is inspiring and impressive. He shows that his strength comes from knowing when he needs to let the reigns go. I fell in love with Connie and Thane, so much so that I cannot say which one I love more. They are perfect for each other and show us how beautiful it can be to fully submit and be loved by a dom.
This story touches on many subjects, some that hurt my heart and made me want to reach thru the pages and just hug Connie and tell her how amazing and strong she is. As for Thane, I fell deeply in love with his kindness, his assertiveness and his loyalty to not only Connie, but also to her Avalon family. He is the type of man who is just utter perfection and is just who Connie needs in her life. These two will forever be in my heart and my very soul.
What I love about this series is that it isn’t all just about BDSM. It’s about a group of friends who are family in every sense of the word. Each one will do anything to protect one of their own if they get into trouble. The love and caring each one has for each other literally makes my heart melt. This series also doesn’t just focus on one couple, it gives you bits and pieces of all of them and that is one reason why I love this series so much and want more. Another reason is the way in which this author writes will make you feel each and every emotion the characters are emitting. If ever there was a series to read, this is most definitely it.
Connie is the psychologist of the group and the Mistress at Avalon. Very respected and feared as a Mistress, she is always in control, and as a psychologist she has been here for every one of her friends when they had to face trauma. But Connie has a secret no one knows: she is a Switch. She has been savagely abused and traumatized by a Dom, and has hidden since then behind her Domme persona. Ten years neglecting her inner sub, taking care of others, shouldering their burden, and Connie is ready to fall apart. Deeply depressed but hiding it, she is stunned when the other Masters at Avalon stage an intervention for her.
Atticus knows everything about everyone and he knows Connie is a Switch. He never called her on it but for months now he's seen her disappeared until she is just a shell of herself. He gives her no choice now but to relinquish control and let someone else take over her body and help her find peace with herself again. But their friendship enables him to be the one she truly needs. A new Dom, Thane, has joined Avalon recently, and is very attracted to the Mistress. Thane is a Switch also, and when Atticus approaches him to help with Connie, nothing will stop him to step in.
I struggled with the beginning of the book, and especially with the scene where Atticus dominates Connie. It really bothered me what happened there , and was really glad when Atticus gave the reins over to Thane.
I loved Thane, he was patient but with a strong hand and exactly what Connie needed. I loved that he was a switch also so he could understand Connie better, and they truly fulfilled each other's needs the right way. Connie's struggle to accept her inner sub back, and to come to terms with the fact that she wouldn't be less of a Domme if the others knew she was a switch was really interesting to watch.
Even though Atticus lost some points in the beginning, I am still very curious to read his story next
Third book in the Avalon series and WOW I am so loving these characters and their stories and the emotions that their stories bring out… This time is Connie’s story on how she finds herself drowning in responsibilities brought by her working as phycologist and with her charge Alicia who is floating in depression but when the masters at Avalon do their best to break the spiral that Connie finds herself in, insteps Thane a new master at the club who is a switch and helps Connie face her biggest secret… The chemistry between Connie and Thane just simmers below boiling point and gets hotter as the story continues but like the previous books a box of tissues on standby is a must..
Oh my. This is no light fluffy story. It is a full course meal with an indulgent dessert. It is deep, rich and satisfying. It is a story of two people who are exactly what each other need. It is not “just” sensual” but a matter of coming home.
This entire series is amazing – in fact if you have not read the prior stories, I would recommend you do so to get the full backstory. You will enjoy it as a standalone, but will feel it deeper with all the details in place.
Connie has been a huge part the prior stories. Thane is new in town – but he quickly wins everyone over. Together they are incendiary. Do yourself a favor and dive on in!!
**I am voluntarily leaving my honest review of this book**
Connie is pretty much my favorite character in this series. She is the glue that holds everyone and everything together. She helps everyone and keeps everyone sane, or at least as sane as they were when they started. But, Connie has been burning the candles at all the ends. She's doing everything she can to keep all her balls in the air, but everything is starting to fall, and Atticus notices. So, he proposes to do something about it. And in walks Thane.
I like Thane. He's very careful of Connie's feelings and her needs. He doesn't push her, well, he does push her, but he only pushes her as far as necessary. He listens to what Connie says and what she doesn't say. I heartily approve of him. He makes Connie happy, and that all I have wanted for her through this whole series.
Absolutely loved this book. It was a very deeply felt emotional book. Connie is burning the candle at both ends and she has a few close friends/family that have staged an intervention in a manner of speaking. Atticus, aka mountain!, has to change to plan B and thus Thane, a complete stranger has been tasked to help. It's a beautiful journey for both Thane and Connie. I loved both sides of Thane, he had it all together, he got Connie, even the parts that she did not know about. Some funny moments through the book (brining home the silver in hurling), but I absolutely loved the depth of each character, I could feel every emotion that they were experiencing. Loved the depth of each scene and loved the hospital bed scene with Liam. Another favorite, "I am going to break you apart into pieces and take away the ones that you don't need." I'm still thinking about this book even after I've finished it. I will re-read this again, it was that good.
I think this story shows how empowering it is to find the mate destined for you. Both Connie and Thane find their perfect match, a Domme/Switch that can finally have a strong shoulder to lean on and a Dom/Switch that can say the same. Connie needed someone to help shoulder the strain her life has become and Thane finds the perfect support for his unique needs too. I loved this story, I loved how vulnerable both main characters are and how they made their relationship work. Honesty is great when you can trust your chosen partner. This story has it all, and then some. I ADORE THANE!
Lord this book broke me I think. I cried almost the entirety of this book I think. Once I picked it up I couldn't put it down till I finished it. Every time I read a book in this series I go into it thinking I am prepared to have my heart and soul ripped out reading it... but I never am. Kay writes such amazing books with characters that have so much depth to them and you can relate to them on every level. Usually when I read a book i hear the characters voices in my head... this time I swear it was like a movie playing in my mind...it was truly amazing for me... something that has never happened for me with a book.
I highly recommend this book to everybody! Its such an amazing book and series!
My favorite installment of the series so far! Thane and Connie are the perfect balance and mix, I honestly wish there was a second book for them! They're stories from the past make you fall in love with each character more and sympathize with what they have gone through, you just want to give them a hug. Great spice once again, good plot, but definitely could have used a slight trigger warning. Maybe I missed it but the climax of this book or the "incident" was a little more intense than what I had prepared for.
Is it possible to up the suspense, the anticipation for every new book in this series? Yes, yes it is! And Ms Parker does not disappoint! With painful attention to detail, she follows the unraveling of a strong woman in desperate need of a secure, soft place to fall. Enter a new player into the Avalon inner circle. All the Doms, their subs are trying to do their best to prevent the inevitable crash, but to their surprise it is the newcomer that has the right approach, the rare blend of traits to finally access the troubled mind. But of course it is not that simple. Corrosive memories, outside forces, lies, coercion and outright bodily harm wreck havoc among them. And once again the Doms of Avalon with their special brand of protection save lives and love. Another breathtaking piece of Avalon.
Occasionally you come across a book that no matter how high your expectations are of it; it surprises you and totally manages to blindside you with its sheer awesomeness. This was just that type of book for me. I'm loving this series and was very excited to read Connie and Thane's story and delivered in every single way I wanted it to and blew me away in the process. I loved that this book took us beyond the dungeon and bedroom and into the real world territory of things we can't control or change; in other words...just life. It's thought provoking, beautiful, poignant, sweet, heartbreaking and steamy. A absolute must read!! This is my independent, impartial review.
WOW .. WHAT A RIDE! Ms. Parker knows how to write like no other! This book is long, but worth every minute. The new guy, Thane, falls madly in love with Avalon's Domme, Mistress Connie, who falls just as madly in love with him. And then the fun and intrigue begin. This 3rd book in the Avalon series keeps the club family alive; Alicia, Braun and Bodie, Jasper and Archie, Atticus, Liam, and Loki. The book is moving along to where I think it's just about to wrap up, and WHAM! BAM! POW! HOLY MOLY .. hold onto your e-readers or book, cuz it's not over yet folks! Another 10☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆ for Ms. Parker. Read it if you dare, teehee ♡ Oh, and yes, I sobbed again ...
Connie and Thane's story is a tear jecker from the beginning to the end. She is a psychologist who is slowly burning out and her only release is being a Domme. After an intervention from her friends she is entrusted to Thane who will discover her secret and instinctively know what to do. The story will leave a mark on your soul and will keep you on the edge of your seat. I volunteered to review this story.
This was incredible, the writing just phenominal and consuming every single word that you will not soon forget. Connie and Thane my god they were perfection and so beautiful together showing each other so much strengh to the point of being emotional I know I was . What A great addition to Club Avalon with one word family who looks out for each other and it is so amazing.
OMG, turmoil, tough read for me. Still crying. Hit so many personal buttons inside me. I'm not to the point Connie is in the end...I haven't ever said those words. This one gut me hard, its a making how you can find strength and personal peace in the written word. Still looking for mt Atticus/Thane.
The third book in the series and it features Mistress Connie. The one who takes care of everybody, but forgets to take care of herself. And we meet a new character, Thane. He is as strong as his name and also kind, caring and loyal to his new family.
That is what Avalon is. A place without judgement with people who form their own family and take care of eachter. Whether it is asked for or not.
It is a book that broaches several difficult subjects. It is heartbreaking at times, but it is also full of funny moments with a lot of kindness and love. And some very steamy parts as well.
So in all it is a wonderful read that will grip you from the first page to the last.
Oh this installment of this series made my Switch-y heart dance for joy. Not many writers tackle a Switch dynamic. Also, I love that Kay shows that no one is perfect, even a Psychiatrist. Connie and Thane are both "broken" in a way. Connie because she takes on the world's problems with no outlet for herself and Thane because of a past that he thought he left behind is now coming for him. So good. Great writing, lovable characters and intriguing plot lines. Highly recommend this series.
Wow!! I mean wow. Just when I think this series couldn't get any better.. *BAM*
This Avalon Series just continues to get better and better. In book three we see Connie's story and Thane's story. I LOVE HIM!! S0o emotional and Parker has this unbelievable way of making you feel every last emotion. Prepare the tissues...
Kay delivers again with the smoking hot scenes, character building and story telling. This story draws you in from beginning to end, and is a bit different from the previous two books.
Connie has a secret and its a doozy, but it really isn't. I was surprised but oh so intrigued. Connie is a kick butt heroine that I can totally connect with.
Please welcome Thane to the Avalon family, and oh he is such a good add. He fits the dynamics and is a great partner for Connie.
I wasn't sure to expect with Connie's story, since Thane was an outsider and we hadn't met him prior to this book. But he immediately clicked with not only Connie, but the rest of the Masters, in a believable way. Hers is the most relatable tale so far, but definitely not boring: a familiar sounding one to many, of being there for everyone else, except yourself, until it's almost too late. I did get some satisfaction of Connie (much as I love her) getting the tables turned on her from the previous two books, when suddenly her friends stick their noses in her life! Haha. But it was necessary. Thane is her perfect match, and although their bond deepens quickly, it didn't feel rushed. A Switch for a Switch was the perfect dynamic, and their scening together is oh so good.
I can't wait for Atticus' story, and happy to see he'll be with who I thought was hinted at. He also tries to be in every place all at once, and it's time to focus that energy on his one special person.
I love the Club Scene books and this new book is no exception. Connie and Thane are so far my favorite Club Avalon couple, the chemistry and relationship together. I loved Thane's patience as he helped Connie, his acceptance of who he is and their needs.
