Gabe by Christy Barritt continues the world of the Blackout seal team on Lantern Beach. This time around, readers are introduced to Gabe and his backstory. The story does explain a little more of the issues that each seal in this series has been infected with. The romance is front and center again. The suspense is the moving element in the story. Gabe and Autumn's life is on the chase as the story progresses along. One of my favorite things about Barritt's writing is her ability to keep crafting a story over and over again, even though she keeps writing these stories that take all this time to create. Overall, Gabe fits right in with Axel and the other heroes in this series. If readers enjoy the Lantern Beach universe, then they would love returning to this series.

Yeah, this is a quick read and another page turner...Barritt KNOWS what her readers like and she does not disappoint! A perfectly done conclusion to an incredible series, but Gabe was different than the others. He's the one who gets attacked at the beginning, usually it's a client the team is paid to protect. Also the dialogue in this one doesn't seem as natural to me as the previous books. The word "appreciate" is used A LOT and to me doesn't capture how truly grateful a person REALLY is. It's also different because Gabe is already crushing on Autumn, so the reader gets a chance to know her in this story as he is.
The stakes are definitely higher in this book and they had me guessing throughout, who could possibly hate Blackout and Autumn Spenser THIS MUCH to do THIS much harm? Loved how the rest of the team is involved in Gabe's story, they really are a great group of characters. It really is too bad other SEALs are harmed in Gabe' s story.
Can't recommend this series enough, love reading Barritt's work!

My thoughts: Gabe is a fast-paced romantic suspense that finally addresses the issues that all the heroes in this series have suffered from. Who knew there was a mystery behind it? Autumn is a doctor who was also a research professional and she dug into blood samples to see what they had in common and where it might have come from. But now someone is out to kill both Gabe and Autumn. Who and why? Else with all Christy Barritt books I found it hard to put this one down. Ms Barritt is another favorite romantic suspense off of mine who was a very prolific writer and seems to put out a book a month. So if you're an avid reader and low romantic suspense check out this book and this author. I was given a copy free. All opinions are my own.

Former Navy SEAL Gabe Michaels was lucky to be alive after being struck by a hit-and-run driver while jogging along a narrow Lantern Beach road. Transported to the local medical clinic, he found himself face-to-face with the new lady doc in town, Autumn Spenser, whom he'd admired from afar. But it didn't take long for Gabe, a Blackout security operative to ascertain that Autumn was in a bit of trouble herself; thankfully Gabe was in the right place at the right time to avert a second crisis. If only that had been the end of the story.
One by one, members and associates of Gabe's former SEAL team were dying under mysterious circumstances. The remaining veterans were experiencing a plethora of unusual ailments. Could Dr. Spenser find the answers they so desperately needed or was she somehow connected to the problem, and didn't even realize it? There was an ever larger question looming in front of Gabe . . would he be capable of protecting her when, not if, things turned dangerous, for she was quickly becoming very near and dear to his heart.
"You don't have to prove yourself to me," she had said. Kinder words were never spoken.

Something is going on in Lantern Beach (again . . .)
Dr. Autumn Spenser and former Navy SEAL and current Blackout operative Gabe Michaels start getting to know each other after Gabe is nearly killed in a hit-and-run accident. And almost immediately following, Autumn is the target of harassment and attempts on her life.
As much as I enjoy Christy Barritt's Lantern Beach novels, something felt a little off in this book. Plenty of action and suspense combined with the romance between Gabe and Autumn, but maybe the speed in which everything happened? It felt hyper-accelerated this time around -- and what about that job in Florida that Gabe was supposed to leave for in three days?
Still recommended, of course.

In this fourth installment of Lantern Beach Blackout: New Recruits, we read about Gabe and Autumn, as they work together to solve several mysteries. Throughout the four books in this series, although each one can be read on it's own, there were several ongoing storylines that are concluded in this book. Several Navy SEALS have come up missing or found dead, and all of the New Recruits have sufferend from various mysterious physical issues since they retired from the Navy. When Gabe is almost killed in a hit and run accident, Dr. Autumn treats him and begins to take an active interest in the SEALS physical issues. As Gabe, Autumn, and the other New Recruits search for motives and clues, they put themselves into even more danger. A suspenseful conclusion to a great series!

Gabe wrap up
This is another in the series and it is a stand alone but also nicely wraps up many of the medical problems mentioned in the previous books of this series.
Love that we get to know each of the blackout team a bit better. If I could change anything , I’d actually add more details about the other team members and the relationships that have grown or developed in the previous books.
There was mystery, suspense, danger and then new trust in a new relationship in this book.
A great read and I like that the author has different series all taking place in Lantern Beach. Feels like a small town with many facets and I can begin to picture it from the other books

Good, suspenseful series
I enjoyed the storylines and the suspense. There were a lot of twists and turns to keep me guessing. I enjoyed all of the characters in each of these four books. One thing I noticed in this series that I have not noticed in the others is that the author seems to use a lot of verbs. So many sentences have to do with feelings and emotions such as 'he felt himself tense'. He already felt himself tense up when he stepped out, and now a minute later, he felt it again. So, because there were a lot of sentences like that the book seemed a little wordier. Other than that and poured versus pored, the series was great. I look forward to meeting Brandon in the next series!

So, this is the 4th and final book to the New Recruits series by Christy Barritt. Here we are introduced to Gabe (a.k.a. "Junior") as he tries to keep Dr. Autumn safe while staying off the radar of a criminal who is targeting ex-Navy Seals.
So, I did like the conclusion to the series. Some of the events the ocurred in this book were kind of cool (in a intense and suspenseful way😬). I definitely liked that the first 3 books are amounting several pieces to the puzzle that is being solved in Gabe's story.
Here we finally get the answers to those hanging situations in the previous books. 🙌🏻
The romance was clean, present and cute.
And even though I wish I could say the same thing about the faith content, I'm still thankful that I can enjoy Barritt's books which have great romance and action scenes, but that are clean and free of any unnecessary details that can be found in other books. 🙌🏻
So..., I finish another series by Christy Barritt and I am definitely looking forward to more of her books.

Dr. Autumn Spenser treats Blackout’s Gabe after a car ran him down while he was out jogging. Of course, it isn’t a random accident but part of a larger plot. Now Autumn seems to be in the crosshairs too. Can Gabe keep her safe as they try to figure out who is killing former Navy SEALS and now attacking Autumn too? The intensity continues to rise as does the danger. This exciting story keep readers racing to find out what will happen next and who is behind the assaults? Plus, the two sense a growing attraction and that increases the tension. All the novels set in Lantern Beach have been great, and this is another winner. I received a copy from the author. I feel like a broken record when I say this is the best book of the series! But since this is the last one of the series, I think I'm right!
I enjoy these books because they have great characters, Gabe is strong but also the guy the team picks on because he's the youngest, yet he has that gentle almost boyish side that makes him easy to like. Autumn is a solid doctor that is smart and beautiful with a backbone.
The action and story were great, it was a fun and relaxing read. Look forward to what Christy has for us next!

Another wonderful story by Christy Barritt!
Gabe and his gang each have different problems since returning from a mission in Africa, where some unknown gas was unleashed on them. According to military doctors there doesn't seem to be anything wrong - then suddenly, members from that team are dying in suspicious accidents, and Gabe is almost a victim as well when a car tries to run into him while he is out running.
Amber puts Gabe back together at the hospital and is curious about the different problems his team has. But she is having troubles of her own since someone is trying to kill her too.
Phew, what a fast paced clean read.

Each book gets better and better!!! This story focuses on recruit Gabe and the new doctor in Lantern Beach, Autumn. They end up being thrown together (sometimes literally) as it appears someone is after Gabe - or could it be Autumn?? They try to solve this mystery and also get to know each other as danger continues to follow them. As usual, there is lots of mystery/suspense but I enjoy how realistic the characters seem. I feel like I could sit down and talk with them. I received an advance copy from the author but all opinions are my own.

I've enjoyed all four books in this series --and all the Lantern Beach books that went ahead. I wait excitedly for each new one to come along. Gabe, the fourth member of his former SEAL team, finds himself the target of several murder attempts at the same time that the new island doctor is also attacked. Could the two be connected? And can Gabe and Autumn work together to solve that question before the unseen enemy gets them? Everyone needs a good realistic mystery with a little love story thrown in as well.

The conclusion of the current Blackout New Recruits was everything I hoped for and more.... Each of the new recruits basically kept me up at night and the conclusion in Gabes story was so satisfying it really was not how I guessed it would turn out proving just how good these novels were... But!!
MY GOODNESS!!! Christy Barritt is an amazingly talented author. Not only am I amazed by the diversity of her many series but her ability to produce such quality with every novel is extremely impressive! I am thoroughly enjoying these novels I can't wait for the new Blackout series (2022😔)

I had a BETA Copy of this book, but this is my voluntary and honest opinion. Another great book in this series by Christy Barritt. Dr Autumn Spenser treats Gabe after a hit and run accident, then she is accosted by someone in her apartment and Gabe comes to her rescue. As threats on both their lives escalate, they become closer and members of Blackout help to solve who is after them. I would highly recommend reading this book.

While jogging, Gabe is hit by a car purposely and left by the side of the road to fend for himself. Fortunately someone saw him pretty soon afterward. He's taken to the Lantern Beach Medical Clinic where he's treated by the beautiful new doctor. Then a reign of terror begins for Gabe and the doctor too! There's also some romance included! A winning combination to enjoy.

The Last of this Series
What can I say about Christy Barritt? Although she has written several mystery/suspense/romances she always has new twists to the old form. There are four books in this series, set on Lantern Beach, NC. The main characters are the New Recruits for Blackout, the investigative bunch of former Seals. What a great novel this one was. Read all four. And wait for a new series from the marvelous Christy Barritt.

Early morning jog for Gabe until a car was aimed at him, lucky to be alive. Meeting Autumn as the Dr at the hospital. From there things escalate with more accidents and to the guys that were on an assignment together. Was there more to this of why Gabe and Autumn are single out. Too many accidents. Good plot and one enjoys the banter till they finally admit they are attracted to one another. Good series.

Barritt saved the baby for last...and he is so precious. When I saw where the overarching plot was headed, I started to fist pump! The finger pointed at a villain so realistic, I've spent over a decade (in the real world) trying to show people the evil behind....it/them. This solidified what was already shaping up to be a 5-star series in my mind. If there had been things to dislike, Barritt would have won me over anyway with that final reveal!

What a great conclusion to the New Recruits spinoff series from Christy Barritt. Finally there are answers after another sordid, twisty tale of danger and deception. Readers will enjoy the story of Gabe Michaels and new clinic doctor Autumn Spenser.

Brilliant as always
Another brilliant story from this author. Loose ends in the overarching story of this four part series are tied up, while Gabe and Autumn fight for survival of not only their lives but their blossoming relationship as they try to work out who is targeting each of them and why.

I always enjoy reading a Christy Barritt book, though this one never seemed to fully bring the main characters to life. Lots of action with wildly unexpected weapons and an enjoyable mystery. Also a good introduction to the next series and a good conclusion to this series of recruits, minus the sushi:) Ewww...lol

As she always does, Christy Barrier has written another fantastic clean romantic suspense novel! This story brings a lot of information out on what happened to the Blackout New Recruits of Lantern Beach. Well written and well balanced story of suspense, hope, romance and faith.

Enjoyed every book.
After reading book 1 couldn’t wait to read the next book. Christy always does a great job of keep all the past and future characters involved. She make you want to go to Lantern Beach, rent a cottage and wait for these people to appear. Hope in next series we find what Cassidy & Tys’ baby is.

Get ready for a RIDE!
I just love everything about a Lantern Beach book! You know the characters. They are well developed and you see a different side with each new book. What is amazing is how much trouble can happen on a small island accessible only by ferry! Gabe certainly does not disappoint. Full of twists and turns, this book kept me turning pages late into the night.

I just love this series about the Blackout team. This book, Gabe, is no exception. It has great suspense and a touch of romance. As the plot unraveled I was intrigued as each turn developed. The manner in which the blackout team works together to solve the situation is always very impressive. I highly recommend this book.

I loved this book as much as the others. As usual it has it all, suspense , action, mystery and the sweetest blossoming romance. Cannot wait for Brandon's book or the New series.I think Lantern Beach has so many great characters. Thank you Christy for keeping us all so wonderfully entertained. You are a great writer.
