This was another good mystery. In this one Mitzy's friend shows up from Arizona. Then she ends up going missing. Now her boyfriend is trying to find her and figure out what happened to her. Luckily she is found and everything is well for now.

This is an entertaining series you can’t help but laugh out loud while reading it. Mitzy’s is full of snark and is my favorite character. The mystery is full of twists and turns to keep you guessing.

I listened to the audio version of the book. The narrator does a fantastic job of bring. Out the characters personality and the emotions. I can’t wait to escape while listening to another one of Mitzy’s adventures. I recommend this series if you enjoy humor, a touch of paranormal, a feisty feline, and a well written mystery

All thoughts and opinions are my own, and I have not been by anyone.

This is my new favorite Mitzy Moon Book!!! I started this book at 11PM for a little light reading before bed and didn't put it down until I was done around 12:30am!! I loved that we got to see the POV of Sherriff Too Hot To Handle! It added that little bit of difference that keeps a longer series interesting! We also got to experience a little bit of Arizona Mitzy, and the conclusion of one of Mitzy's bad feelings. So good! Can't wait to read the next one!

Schemes and Bad Dreams is the 15th book in the Mitzy Moon series. I’ve only read a few of the prior books, but I am enjoying each book more than the one before and this is my favorite so far. There is enough realism to make the characters and plot relatable, but just enough paranormal to make the books fun to read. In this installment, Mitzy is surprised when an old friend from Arizona comes into town for a visit. Mitzy takes her friend Ben on a tour of her new hometown and the background information she gives Ben about some of the people and places in Pin Cherry Harbor are a great introduction to the series for new readers.

Mitzy has put her old life behind her and is surprised when Ben seems to want more than Mitzy’s friendship. Mitzy tells him she has moved on and is happy with her life in Pin Cherry Harbor and with her boyfriend Sheriff Erick Harper. Erick gets a text from Mitzy that she has decided to go on a road trip with Ben, but something doesn’t seem right. Erick isn’t sure if Mitzy is reconnecting with an old friend or if she was taken against her will. The author provides clues about what is really going on, but keeps you in suspense until all of the details are revealed.

Mitzy has to rely on both her special psychic powers and her intelligence to deal with the situation she finds herself in and I enjoyed seeing that side of her. I also really like the chapters that are narrated by Erick. It was nice to see Erick’s interactions with his mother and get to know him and experience how much he cares about Mitzy from his point-of-view. It was also nice seeing the practical Erick getting help from Ghost-Ma and Mitzy’s extraordinary cat Pye to get crucial information about MItzy’s whereabouts. Without giving anything away, Mitzy also gets help from an unexpected source and tries to return the favor at the end. This is another fast-paced, fun book in the Mitzy Moon series and I recommend it to fans of cozy mysteries.

A copy of this book was provided to me by the author at no cost, but my review is voluntary and unbiased.

Mitzy is surprised by the arrival of an ex from Arizona into Pin Cherry Harbor. She remembers how he was always there for her and agrees to provide him the funds to get a business started back in Arizona but before he can leave she finds herself kidnapped with the creepy detective she can’t stand and her friend has vanished. Did he kidnap the two of them and if not then who did and where is he!

Once again Trixie has given us a delightful tale that will make all her fans rejoice for our heroine needs to use all her wits to get herself out of this pickle she is in!

These stories are just the ticket to chase away the blues and give you a few laughs and smiles along the way! They are fresh, innovative and page turners that will keep you entertained for a few hours as you devour them!

I wholeheartedly enthusiastically recommend this book and this series to readers old and young who are looking for a series with characters you’ll love and will want to read more of! Each book brings you humor and excitement and an utterly delightful enjoyment as you once again find yourself in Pin Cherry Harbor among people for the most part who you would be content to stay for the rest of your life!

I love this series and I know you will as well! So pick up this book today and while you’re at it get the whole series to this point so you can meet up with a girl who is just struggling to survive and has a life altering experience that lands her miles away from Arizona into a town which becomes home with new friends, family and experiences you are going to love to read about! See why everyone is raving about Trixie’s series and join in the fun and excitement! You’ll be so very glad you did for you will have found an author you’ll love to read more of and will eagerly await Mitzy’s next adventure with the rest of her continuously growing readers who can’t get enough of the one and only Mitzy Moon!

Book 15 and I do hope that Trixie keeps her word, that as long as we keep reading she will keep writing these fun whodunit mystery cases as she has me really hooked. This time round Mitzy is visited by an ex from her past in Arizona, where she had lived nearly as a down and out scrounging to live from day to day. Benicio talks only about money and starts to worry Mitzy, and Erick is very jealous especially when she decides to take Ben on a tour of Pin Cherry, and later texts Erick to inform him they have gone on a road trip. But the reality is that Mitzy has been kidnapped whilst drunk out of her brain, and is being kept in a desolate farmhouse together with one of the policeman who work with Erick known as Candy. I love the suspense in this tale and the fact that as usual Pyewacket gives his bit of help, ghost-ma and Silas Willoughby as well as another ghost also help in their different ways to aid Erick get to the bottom of this case which had turned so personal for him. This story almost turns into a horror ghost story, quite chilling, desolate farmhouse and all! Mitzy is her usual cunning self, who will not let anything or anyone daunt her. I look forward to book 16 and more of Mitzy Moon, Erick Harper and the rest of the Pin Cherry Harbour gang.

I really enjoyed this book. I liked that we got a glimpse of Arizona Mitzy when her old friend/lover comes to Pin Cherry to find her. Hearing she’s now come into some money he wants his share. Erich gets a little jealous but he trusts Mitzy which shows how their story has progressed!
When Mitzy goes missing and supposedly on a road trip Erich’s mom hears her text and his mom who’ blind confirms what he suspects that Mitzy didn’t write it. It didn’t sound like her. I loved his mom getting into story! I loved the the pie competition!
This book has plenty of drama, mystery and action. This book like all of Trixie’s are well written with original plots! I highly recommend this book and series!

I love this series! Every book I read a book in it, I think to myself, “this one is the best!” Then comes the next book and, unbelievably, it tops it! In this one we have two narrators, which I loved! It was definitely fun to be inside Erick’s head, especially with Mitzy in trouble. I enjoyed being at the fair. I did miss Twiggy though. She is an intriguing character. All the rest of the fun characters are back. I really enjoy hanging out in “Almost Canada.”
Grab your copy of this for some end of summer fun. It looks like the next book will be a Christmas one so you will want to be all caught up!

*I received an uncorrected ecopy of this book for review consideration. Opinions expressed are my thoughts and my enjoyment while reading this book.*

What a blast from the past. When an old friend of Mitzy's comes strolling into the diner, she can't believe her eyes. But is this friend just here to say hello or do they have ulterior motives for Mitzy? And what happens when Mitzy up and dissappears? Is this old friend responsible? Or is something more nefarious going on? Dive in to this wonderful read by the amazing Ms Trixie Silvertale and as always, she will take you on a ride you won't want to miss.

Wow. Schemes and Bad Dreams is an amazing book. I loved it. This book is intense and exciting. It is impossible to put down. I fall in love with the characters more with each book. This book has more intense serious moments but still has the fantastic Mitzy humor and charm. I also enjoyed getting to see from Eric's point of view. I absolutely love this book and can't wait for more. This is a must read!

Love this series!

This is another absolutely wonderful addition to one of my favorite series by one of my favorite authors. Mitzi really gets into bad trouble this time involving an old friend from Arizona. Erich, along with Pye and Silas, are trying to help but will they save her? Read this book to find out. It can be read as a standalone but its much more fun to start at the beginning of the series and find out how Mitzi went from dodging her landlord in AZ for rent with no family to owning a bookstore and more money than she ever imagined with family including the ghost of her grandmother she affectionately calls "Ghostma" and a "too hot to handle" Sheriff boyfriend in a small town in "almost Canada". You will fall in love with this series, too. I can't wait to see what adventure she gets into next!!

Schemes and Bad Dreams is another fast-paced, whirlwind of goings-on which will have you gripped from the first page. Someone arrives in Pin Cherry and the blast from the past has turned up on Mitzy's doorstep with an ulterior motive. Word has it the young lady has found herself some of the finer things in life and he wants a slice of the pie. Ex-lover, Ben expects the girl he used to know to be a bit of a walkover. He's totally misjudged her and her initial surprise at seeing him rapidly turns into wanting to get rid as quickly as possible.

Something is a little off from the beginning of this story when her day starts with a nightmare. The alarm relentlessly goes off in the book store and despite tapping in the correct code, our amateur sleuth can't stop the ear-splitting racket. Lucky for Miss Moon, local officer, Candy is quick to the rescue. It doesn't take long for our heroine to find herself in all sorts of deep trouble in this installment and she must call on all her resolve, plus a bit of help from the other side in the form of Ghost-ma and Silas' words in her mind to figure her way out of this predicament.

Pyewacket comes to the rescue with a clue and too-hot-to-handle Sheriff Erick has a plan. It's a long shot, but the love of his life is in deep trouble and it's the only one he's got.

There are a few twists in the story and a bit of a shocker. Another great read, but this time around not your typical murder mystery, though there are problems to solve and truths to be found. I'm glad it finished with a light-hearted end!

Things are heating up in Pin Cherry Harbor! If you haven’t visited yet, now could be the perfect time. This is definitely in the top two of paranormal cozies being written today.

The relationship between Mitzy and Erick have finally advanced to the next level. But when an old beau arrives on the bus trying to reignite old flames, will his efforts spark?

Come to Pin Cherry now. You’ll be just in time for the pie festival and Mitzy’s latest escapades. How will she weather the attention of a few too many hunks in town?

Another wonderful read! Really enjoy reading about Pin Cherry and all the people living there. Look forward to the next one in the series. :) Noticed the reference to 'Cat Who ... ' - read those. LOVE all the quirky & funny t-shirts she wears. Have to read through from the beginning again to make a list of those sayings for myself. :D

Oh my!!! I loved this adventure into Pin Cherry and must say I think it might be my favourite one yet. With Mitzy missing the story is told by both Mitzy as she tries to figure out how to get herself out of trouble and her boyfriend 'Sheriff too hot to handle' as he works out that things don't add up and Mitzy might just be in trouble, again. This really works for the story and is an unusual twist for the author, who is constantly surprising and entertaining her readers. This doesn't mean the rest of the quirky characters (that everybody loves and come to expect) aren't present and lending a helping ghost hand or paw, they just present a lesser presence. Mitzy still gets to put her sleuthing skills to good use and show off how far she has come. I just loved it and can't wait for the next adventure. Keep them coming.
Mitzy is surprised when an old boyfriend turns up in town and determined to show him a good time and that she hasn't change since inheriting money, she takes him out on the town. Only to wake up handcuffed to a chair with her least favourite deputy. Can they escape the prison that has them trapped together and find out who is responsible? The sheriff receives a message informing him his girlfriend is going on a road trip with her old friend but will be listen to his instincts that something isn't right?
I liked the narrator and for me she is the voice of Mitzy Moon.

I chose to read this book after receiving a free e-copy of the ARC from the author. All opinions in this review are my own and completely unbiased.

An old friend of Mitzy’s shows up and all he does is talk about money. From the beginning, I didn’t care for him. I guess I’m too suspicious. Mitzy seems to be okay with her old friend Ben but since he talks about nothing but her money, she decides to get rid of him ASAP. Unfortunately, as often happens, Mitzy’s plans don’t work out how she plans. In fact, there are a couple of twists along the way that I didn’t see coming.

When Mitzy disappears, it only takes a day or so for Erick, her boyfriend and the sheriff, to know that his suspicions are true and the Mitzy is missing. I like how everyone who cares for Mitzy, even her cat, comes together to figure out where she is. Of course, Mitzy is not one to sit on her hands and wait to be rescued. And no matter how much danger she’s in, she still has her sense of humor.

I love how the relationship with Mitzy and Erick is progressing…slow but steady. They’re perfect for each other. I’m looking forward to them taking the next step.

This is one of my favorites in the series. Even though there is a lot of drama, it is still written in a way that it is fun and funny. Although this book stands on its own, I recommend reading all of the books in order to get the most out of the series.

Wonderfully well written

There is a new element in this book that really added to the story. I Loved that with a capital L! But, this instalment is just a little bit heavier than normal. Just a tad darker. So please, do read the warning in the front of the book. Because this book contains some topics that may be triggering.

But of course it was once again a well written book, with that one-more-chapter-ability. A real pageturner. Silvertale is one of my favorite authors and this book was a great read.

But I have to admit I didn’t like Candy all that much. I didn’t like Benicio all that much. And I didn’t like Mitzy’s behavior when she was around Beni. It was a little bit more negative than I’d normally like. Although, in all honesty, I wasn’t feeling 100% well when I read this book, so it’s hard to tell what was my own negativity, and what was Mitzy’s. Still, the story swept me away and was so wonderfully written that I was on the edge of my seat. Because you know, (quote) “You may have paid for the whole seat, but you’ll only need the edge!” These are the kind of sentences that made me fall in love with Silvertale’s tales! The mystery is wrapped up really well.

And there were a few elements to this story that really make it stand out. Highly recommend! But like I said, do read the warning!

This is for the audio book.

I absolutely love these books. I will never get tired of these adventures with Mitzy Moon. This one has a lovely twist because we get to see Erick's point of view on what's happening in Pin Cherry with his lady, Mitzy. An old friend of Mitzy from her Arizona days drops in to see her. Both of them go missing. Did this old friend steer her in the wrong direction or is there another sinister force at work in her disappearance? Erick is going to need all the help he can get to find her which includes Pyewacket, Silas, and Ghost-ma. How he communicates with them makes the story much more interesting. We also get to meet Erick’s Mom and get to know a little bit about her as he tries to unravel the mystery of Mitzy’s whereabouts. Mitzy's captor thinks he has her in his grasp but he doesn't know about her special abilities. That may be the only thing that saves her life but there is a ghost in the house that Mitzy is being held in which may hold the key to the situation.

This is a darker Mitzy Moon story and you should read the information at the beginning of the book. The story keep me turning the pages to see what came next. There were so many subplots going on I really did not know how it was all going to end. And do not forget about the Pin Cherry pie bake-off!!

I adore this series! I come away feeling as though the characters in Pin Cherry Harbor are my friends. I have an emotional investment in each installment. That said, Book 15 has a darker tone than any of the other books in the series. The description of one of the characters as “creeptastic” is spot on.

Someone from Mitzy’s past in Arizona comes to Pin Cherry Harbor. He heard that she came into a lot of money, and he had to find out for himself. Is he a threat to Mitzy’s relationship with “Sheriff Too-Hot-to-Handle”?

Mitzy becomes the victim in this episode, and it is up to Sheriff Erick, with the help of her beloved feline Pyewacket and alchemist Silas to rescue her. The story had me on the edge of my seat.

I love that this book gives the reader alternating perspectives from Mitzy and Erick. This is the first book that the reader hears from Erick. At first, I wasn’t sure how this would go, but I trust Trixie and, as usual, she did not disappoint.

I love Trixie’s style of writing. And while I enjoyed “Schemes and Bad Dreams” I do look forward to the return of a lighter tone and more involvement from the core characters. These books are perfect for a weekend read.

I received an Advance Review Copy of this book. All opinions are my own.

Tilly is out of town and Mitzy Moon has set off the alarm at the bookstore. The code isn't working and deputy Candy arrives and calls the alarm company to get the alarm reset. As he is leaving, Pye attacks his ankle and tears and piece of cloth off. That morning while having breakfast with Eric, an old friend of Mitzy's, Ben, arrives in town on the bus. Mitzy decides to show Ben around Pin Cherry Harbor then put him on a plane home. They finally end up at the Final Destination, a bar where Mitzy once worked undercover. They both are too drunk to drive when it's time to leave and Mitzy gives the owner Lars her car key and tells him they are going to walk. They are soon picked up by Deputy Candy and when Mitzy comes to, she realizes she and Deputy Candy are handcuffed to chairs in the dining room. There's no sign of Ben and Deputy Candy tells Mitzy that Ben must have kidnapped them as there's no sign of him there. Eric has received a text from her saying she was taking Ben on a road trip and she would see him later. At first Eric isn't worried, but then he starts talking to people and realizes things aren't what they seem. Who is the kidnapper?

I am voluntarily reviewing this book after receiving it free from Hidden Gems.

Book 15 of the Mitzy Moon Mysteries could be my favorite yet! I gobbled this newest release up in just about a day.

Schemes and Bad Dreams is one of those witchy cozies that remind me why I love the genre so much.

The suspense and little twists kept me gripped. In fact, I was half way through a particular chapter when I told myself I’d put the book down by the end of it and go to sleep. Nope! There was this new little twist that woke me right up, drove the sleep away and kept me reading for almost another hour!

I also found the backstories and events of this particular book to be a bit more intense (even darker) than the norm for this series. Given how fun and light it usually is, I really enjoyed this extra edge to the tale.

The mystery to solve in this one is who kidnapped Mitzy. Yup! Mitzy is taken hostage and she’s not sure who did it or why.

In a delightful change, readers are treated to a few chapters from Erick’s perspective! It’s a good way to carry this particular story and keep the suspense and mystery around Mitzy’s kidnapping going. It’s also quite refreshing to view Mitzy’s crazy, magical world through his eyes and I thoroughly enjoyed the switch up.

There are a couple side stories for us to follow as well. We want to know more about this friend, Beni, who shows up unannounced. Is Beni up to no good or is he just looking to reconnect as he claims? Then we have the Pin Cherry Pie contest. Will Odell emerge victorious? Lol. The descriptions of all those pies sure made me hungry!

Overall, I adored Schemes and Bad Dreams. I was sold on this series a long time ago (well since book one which I discovered earlier this year). This book, however, exceeded expectations and I can’t wait to see what happens next!

Well played, Ms Silvertale, well played . . .

Nothing irritates me more than to read about a woman who is inexplicably drawn back into the web of a past involvement, simply because he "turns up" a few months later. When it looked like Mitzy was set to do the same thing, I was ready to give her a stern talking to - or worse! But I held fast and was rewarded instead with a new mystery for Pyewacket and Ghostma to extricate Mitzy from, a new ghost on the order of a ghoulish Mrs Cleaver, and lots of action with Sheriff Too-Hot.

Silvertale took a bit of a departure with this episode and gave us Erick POV as well as Mitzy's and I for one admit I enjoyed that . . . a lot!

Another great entry to the Moon Mysteries in Almost-Canada and I don't mind saying that I hope there will be many more episodes to come. Love this series, read it in one sitting - it's impossible to put this down!

Mitzy Moon loves her new hometown and her handsome boyfriend, Sheriff Erick Harper. But it seems like she may have gone back to her old ways when a friend from her past shows up. Mitzy has disappeared but Erick is still getting texts, but has she really taken a road trip or is something else going on?

I received an ARC of this book from Hidden Gems and this is my honest, unbiased review. I've really enjoyed this series and this book is no exception. The book was well-written with a well-rounded cast of characters. The engaging story pulled me in from the start and kept me hooked throughout. I will say that this book has an element that can be considered "dark" or may be too deep for some. There is a warning at the front of the book. Still it was a wonderful read and you still have Mitzy's quirky sense of humor. It's a definite must-read in my opinion and I am really looking forward to the next book. I highly recommend both book and series which I suggest you read in order to get the most enjoyment and benefit.

Shady Ben and the Candy man cometh

With Twiggy away in Canada for a week Mitzy is on her own with the alarm system and it doesn't take long before it's triggered! When Detective Candy is the one who turns up to reset it she's slightly uncomfortable but not unduly alarmed!

While enjoying a sneaky moment with Eric in the diner however a blast from the past appears, Shady Ben he friend with benefits from Arizona has schlepped his way on the bus to Pin Cherry Harbour.. but what would bring him this far after two years have passed?

Mitzy's determined to get him out of town as soon as she can but a night out to reminisce about their shared history turns bad when Mitzy wakes handcuffed to a chair alongside Detective Candy.

The night ended with discord between her and Ben over money but would he really be able to set up a kidnap and ransom plan in such detail? Or is there something altogether more sinister going on.. will anyone realise in time to rescue her from this bizarre adventure.. not that Mitzy is waiting to be rescued type!!

This series shows NO signs of faltering!!!

Can I love this author and this character any more?!! This story is satisfying on SO many levels: the clear illustration of how valued Mitzy is by so many townsfolk goes a long way towards balancing her tragic past; I respect the strength Mitzy exhibits by owning her past wrongdoing without wallowing in guilt and allowing herself to be manipulated; the story is well-written, thoroughly engrossing, and allows for the removal of an obnoxious character; a couple of weightier than usual matters that are at the core of the crime (crimes?) are addressed in a sensitive and non-judgmental manner; and, the additional POV really allows Erick to shine. His mom gets a long overdue cameo, his interactions with Pye, Ghost-ma, and Silas are so respectful, and it all highlights how much he loves Mitzy and makes my romantic soul rejoice! The author even manages to slip in a bit of the humor that is usually so abundant in the series with the pie mishap in the end... Classic Mitzy!!!

The audiobook of Schemes and Bad Dreams, the 15th in this lively series by Trixie Silvertale, is absolutely fabulous! Coleen Marlo voices the characters with the exact emotions that I was feeling at the time. The humor and the tense drama are heighten in the audiobook. as well.
Mitzy and Erick are on a good relationship track when her past rises up and tosses a wrench into her plans. I liked learning more of the backstory, though the path was beginning to turn darker than what I was expecting. The twists keep the reader on the edge of their seat as the pulse pounding drama plays out. The new character is quite something, and though Lilly is out of town--all the favorites are there, including Ghost-ma. I enjoyed my visit to "Almost Canada" and the suspenseful elements in this book! I can't wait foe the next listen!
Thank you to Trixie Silvertale and Authors Direct for allowing me to listen to an Advanced Readers Copy of this audiobook. All opinions are my own.

I just love Mitzy more with each new story. This time Mitzy is the victim. When an old friend drops into town, she isn't sure she wants to share her new life with her old life. When Mitzy and her friend disappear along with Officer Candy, Erick isn't sure if she was doing something spontaneous or something happened to her. After going drinking with her friend, Mitzy wakes up in a strange place handcuffed to a chair with Officer Candy beside her. Officer Candy tries to convince her that her friend is the one behind the kidnapping. Things aren't always what they seem. It is up to Mitzy to get them out of this predicament. With the help of a ghost, she is able to figure out who is behind it all. She needs a plan to get out of this and quickly or she will end up like the ghost in the strange house. Good story.
