A laird whose sight has been stolen. A lady haunted by a tragic past. Together, can they escape the darkness.
Hiding away in a castle tower overlooking snowswept moors, Lady Cait Campbell plays her pipe. Her music helps her deal with a past she can never forget and a world she now fears.
Gravely injured in battle, Laird Ewan MacLeod survives his wounds but loses his sight. Believing himself incapable of protecting his people, he wishes to relinquish his chiefdom to his young brother, who stubbornly refuses to accept the role, believing Ewan is still the rightful laird.
When their families come together to celebrate the Yuletide season, Ewan and Cait rekindle the friendship shared in their youth, and the spark that has always existed between them ignites into a fiery attraction.
Still, love can only save them from their lonely fates if they both have the courage to face the challenges of the future, together.

A short but potent story that had me in tears at times, sometimes in sadness as my heart was breaking for both Cait and Ewan and their struggle, but also in joy on how they overcame their injuries and found their HEA with each other. One of my fave quotes from this story: “I don’t even feel dented anymore. I feel full and sumptuous and perfect.” and alludes to a saying that the cook told Cait. Well woven tale that will stay with me for a while. - 5 stars
Fave quotes “I don’t even feel dented anymore. I feel full and sumptuous and perfect.” “Forever mine, forever yers, forever whole,” he vowed.
Two tormented souls learning to cope, Laird Ewan has lost his sight after being gravely injured in a recent battle and Lady Cait is the sole survivor of a tragic accident when only fourteen. Years have passed since they've seen one another. Piping calms Cait's inner turmoil and when Ewan hears her music it soothes him. This is a very moving story showing one can overcome fears, once more standing tall and enjoying life. I highly recommend this series.
What a heartwarming story. Two people who view themselves as broken come together to mend each other. There's no greater healing agent than love and it surprises both Cait and Ewan in unexpected ways. Ewan recently lost his sight in battle but remembers Cait as a childhood friend. Cait had a traumatic experience where she has spent the last 8 years trying to overcome her fears. But put these two together as one they are unstoppable. Lovely story, enjoyed it immensely.
I know that no one on Amazon will be able to read this rating. But the writing style is very juvenile. Characters and the story line lack depth, imagination, and distinction. It reads like a Hallmark movie. I don't understand how anyone could rate it above a 3. I plundered through the first book but the next one was absolutely 💯 lame. Work hard to improve your skills and you can write a wonderful novel.
Two people dented by life find each other. Cait survived a ship wreck, and all the other passengers perished. Cait had anxiety after the wreck and had lost all hope in herself. He was Laird, but after injuries that resulted in a high temperature and loss of his eyesite, he felt worthless as a leader. Cait and the Laird understand each other, will they be able to have hope in each other ?
I loved how two broken but beautiful people ( Cait and Ewan) helped each other heal. Because of their love compassion for each other they helped each other become whole! This is a marvelous love story! I will definitely be recommending this book and author Lily Baldwin to my friends and family! Read and Enjoy!
This is a very fun story. It stayed clean all the way and until the last tiny bit. I would have given it five stars had it stayed clean all the way to the end. It was completely unnecessary to throw that last bit in.
Laird Ewan lost his eye sight and lives in darkness? Cait suffered a trauma at a young age and has not recovered. Can they overcome the darkness in both of their lives? This is a beautiful love story leaves you wanting more...
I couldn't put it down. The author is so detailed about the characters personalities on point. They made a perfect match. Always eager to read more. Another good read by Lily Baldwin!
Two wounded souls come together in a dented cauldron and become one in body and soul. It was fun to see these two come together. Not only do they heal, but so do the families.
This was a good book. I didn’t know if I could read it but it finally came on KU so I did. Ewan and Cait both felt trapped in their world. It was a good story.
This was a decent short story read as part of Twelve Christmas in a Highlanders Arms. This was one of the better stories in that collection.
I liked the MMC better than the FMC. Not entirely sure why. There was a brief misunderstanding that felt a bit rushed to create tension that was immediately resolved.
