StarHaven Sanctuary is full of secrets, and some of them are deadly.

Strange books fill the attic. The crumbling temple hides a darkness clamoring to be released. Even the wolves the sanctuary was created to protect are far more than meets the eye.

Leah must discover the cause of her aunts death before she suffers the same fate, all while coming to terms with her own newly-discovered magic. As she races to learn all that is hidden within the sanctuary boundaries she stumbles upon some dangerous enemies, but also meets some new friends...

I really don’t know if I like Leah or not lol. The writing is easy to follow and I really enjoy the plot. I absolutely love Isaiah and cannot wait to find out more about the wolf pack. I have a feeling that Leah is going to grow on me. Towards the end she didn’t bother me as much. The world building isn’t extremely hard to get into and I really like that. I do love complex worlds, but when it comes to witches…. I really like focusing on the spells and the actual magic, which this author does. I cannot wait to start book 2!

Good Bones but fell flat

The story has good bones and opens with a scene that draws you in as the reader but grows stagnant from there. It feels like scenes are being repeated without much detail or growth.

Leah learns she is a witch and must learn how to grow her powers in order to stop a great evil but as she learns more about being a witch there not much story happening or excitement. When she confronts her mom on pivotal issues it falls flat. Even with the final battle , it happened and that’s it. No energy or emotion behind the scenes.

With a bit flushing out and more emotion I think this has the potential to be a very powerful story.

book review by myself

Awesome book, great characters. Very interesting subject matter, I don’t think I’ve ever read anything similar to this book before. I’m not very good at writing something about a book that I liked before. So please read it and I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

This book was good. although at times I felt like I going through Deja vu at times. This was a great book for a begining of the series. the structure was good and the pace was action packed.
