This was not that bad but it was a little slow and dragged.
Also i expected something much darker being a mafia romance and the H supposed to be cruel and bully but i didn't saw any of that?? He was actually kinda nice lol๐ and iย hated that the h kept the secret almost till the end, i wished she told him much sooner when they started developing feelings.
That twist in the end was straight from a telenovela tho.๐

Being a fan of both Vanessa Fewings and Ava Harrison, I knew this read would be the one book I'd HAVE to read this year, even if I read nothing else. I was not disappointed in any way. THE RAVISHING was gripping, intriguing, exciting, and superbly written. Cassius and Anya just clicked, even when it seemed they shouldnโt.
Story/Characters...
Cassius Calvetti is the descendant of Italian aristocracy but though he might have been born into privilege and wealth, that didnโt save him or his family from the wrath of greed. After a harrowing night where he lost nearly everything, heโs set on revenge and nothing will stop him from getting his pound of flesh.
Anyone looking in on Anyaโs life would think sheโs the spoiled princess of a wealthy businessman. Thatโs certainly the view Cass had of her. But her life is shackled to a gilded cage filled with isolation and loneliness. Sheโs an implement of revenge and when all the secrets come pouring out, everything changes, and neither Cassius nor Anya were prepared for what was to come.
I LOVED Cass and Anya together. They were a very unlikely pair as both seemed to be on opposite sides of the page. Cass is set on taking his revenge for everything that happened to him, and Anya just wants her freedom. When Cass and Anya come together, neither were expecting the instant spark between them. Cass sure wasnโt expecting the fire and spirit Anya gave him.
I enjoyed everything about Anya. She was full of life and bravery but also wielded a kind, pure soul. I loved her bite. She was sassy and mature in all the right ways. She really finds her strength and that was enchanting to watch play out.
As soon as I finished the book, I immediately wrote to one of the authors and asked if I could marry Cass. THATโS how much I loved him. Iโm sure my hubs wonโt mind. ;) Seriously though, Cass was a complicated character. He seemed tough and full of anger, but he has layers, people! LAYERS! And I loved watching each and every one of those layers get peeled back by Anya.
The Wrap Up:
Fewings and Harrison made an amazing duo. This story had lots of twists and turns, ups and downs, and a slow burn that really kept me glued to the pages needing to see what happened next. THE RAVISHING is a must-read, slow-burn romance you will devour in one sitting!

So I got a text this book released and I had just finished a book and needed to figure what was up next. I read the blurb and thoughtโฆ.this sounds pretty good. Love a good enemies to lovers and Iโve been wanting read Ava Harrison.
This book was AWFUL. The story itself could have been good. It started off on a good note. And then I kept feeling like conversations were happening twice, and details would keep getting repeated and from one chapter to the next the MCโs personalities seemed to change. It wasnโt until the end that I realized this was co-written. So some of that made sense if no one ever reread their work before it was published.
Also, their first kiss was so poorly written I couldnโt even tell they were kissing until the next page when she talked about the kiss. But, in general it felt like the authors sat down and decided where the sex scenes would go and it was just thrown into the story. It did not flow, the sex was not a part of the story telling.
I ended up skipping forward just to see what happened with some characters in the story but overallโฆ.this was just AWFUL.

4.5 Stars. It was not what I expected at all. I thought it would be dark so when read it, I dived in being scared. Well, this sucked. If you want to read a 'dark romance' with a stupid and naive FMC, this is the book for you. Or maybe an MMC that is all talk but no action? This is the book for you. Or better yet, maybe you like books that are completely predictable and basically lay everything out in the first few chapters? Yep, pick this book up!
I hated this. You could tell this was written by two authors because it was a hot mess. They couldn't figure out if this was supposed to be dark or not, and these characters were all over the place. Anya is seriously one of the dumbest FMC's I've read. The first time she even has an interaction with Cassius, she's so terrified and is crying and screaming for her Dad, but yet when he touches her, "sensations were stirring in places I never touched, tingles alighting and bringing a heady rush." lol...kill me now because it just gets worse.
This is marketed as a billionaire romance, but it is written as if Cassius were from the underworld. In case you haven't guessed, he's not! He has his lawyer friend with him constantly, trying to tell him his mother wouldn't want this, but he never actually does anything. Not to mention, I'm pretty sure his dad wasn't a 'good' guy, thus the whole point of the prologue, lol.
Please excuse me while I go and scrub all of this author's books from my TBR.

So I had the opportunity to do a beta read of sorts. Ava Harrison is a new to me author. Teaming up with Vanessa Fewings had me excited!
This story was so exciting in a seedy, underworld kind of way. Slightly dark. Age gap. Revenge plot.
There were lots of twists and turns that kept me on the edge of my seat. It's definitely sexy but a slow burn. I do wish the age gap was discussed more but it was such a minor thing compared to everything else that was going on.
Cassius and Anya don't seem to be a likely match but throughout the story that changes as circumstances change. There is so much that goes on in the story that I don't want to spoil anything.
Overall, The Ravishing isa sexy story full of mystery, intrigue, and plot twists!

Over the years, Iโve read a few books by both authors and I always enjoyed their writing and stories.
The Ravishing is the first book by this duo and after finishing reading it, I want more from them.
Two families, a revenge set to damage both of them, and a love story that comes into play without knowing how the cupid's bow strike them both.
I loved the characters, the suspense and, more than anything, the chemistry and steamy scenes between Cassius and Anya.
If you love a dark romance with lots of twists and family dynamics where love always wins, this is the boo for you.

The Ravishing by Ava Harrison and Vanessa Fewings was an interesting tale of revenge, forgiveness, redemption, and love. It was my first book by Ava Harrison and features the kidnapping for revenge plot that most books of this genre contains. What makes this one stand out is that the hero, Cassian, feels guilty for kidnapping Anya in the beginning even though her father killed his parents in cold blood. Although this book started off slow and frustrating because of some misunderstandings, the characters eventually grew on me and I even shed some tears for Cassian. This was one of those slow burn romances that focuses more on the story and characters than sex. There were some steamy moments but it wasn't the central focus and I appreciated that.
What I enjoyed most about this book was the slow and somewhat angsty romance between Anya and Cassian. They started off as captive and kidnapper but it became something more even though Cassian had a difficult time accepting that fact due to Anya being the daughter of the man who killed his mother and father. I loved their scattered moments and conversations togetherโespecially after they stopped being antagonistic towards each other. It eventually blossomed into love, even after everything.
In the end, I enjoyed this redemption story by Ava Harrison and Vanessa Fewings because although it contains the familiar formula of kidnapping romances, it distinguishes itself by the changes in its characters and plot twist. Both Anya and Cassian had to go through some difficult trials to reach their happy ending. Even though it wasn't as steamy as I had wanted it to be, the moments between our hero and heroine were incredibly tender and emotional. If you are looking for a sweet contemporary romance that has elements of dark romance in it, then I highly recommend this book.

Overall Opinion :
I have been so excited to read this one! Ava Harrison's standalone books are my new dope and I can't get enough of her. She somehow manages to give us an amazing plot with steam and suspense in a single book!
The Ravishing is the tale of Anya and Stephen whose story started with Hate and then developed into something so much more. I loved the suspense part of this book. I had my theories but the real thing was much better!
I would definitely recommend this book to all the dark romance loving people out there!

This was not what I expected. When I read the blurb I expected this story to be a bit dark and revengeful but itโs more of a love story.
Cassius's family has been destroyed he vows to seek revenge for them and plots his plan throughout the years. What he doesnโt expect is to fall for the enemy.
Anya has lived her life secluded and protected not knowing who her parents truly are or what business theyโre in. They live in a beautiful house protected 24hrs by guards and always restricted to areas of the house.
The book takes you through a journey of Cassius and Anya's relationship and how they grow to love each other and find the secrets of Anya's family. It's more of a love story than a true dark revenge story.
Cassius's family has been destroyed he vows to seek revenge for them and plots his plan throughout the years. What he doesnโt expect is to fall for the enemy.

The Ravishing was a gripping, steamy, enemies to lovers slow burn story that I could not put down! Ava Harrison and Vanessa Fewings had me hooked from page one with this dark, all consuming romance. I simply fell in love with Cassius and Anya's characters and found myself willing and wishing for their HEA!
This plot is full of suspense and intrigue with intense characters. Cassius is a dominant alpha male with a dark, complicated past. Anya has been sheltered from family secrets her entire life and has a desire at 18 to finally go out and live her life. Everywhere Cassius is rough and intimidating, Anya is passionate and charismatic. Opposites definitely attract with what would seem to be an unlikely pair. The sexual tension and chemistry between Cassius and Anya is hot! The journey these two characters take to unravel answers about each of their pasts and seek revenge is an epic ride.

He's promised to kill her at some point, but even that doesn't seem to make a dent in the longing her body has for him. Their connection is intense and furious and she's starting to think he's not what he appears to be. But if she gets the chance to escape, will she take it?
Whew, I knew when Ava and Vanessa partnered up to write, the result would be crazy good, and it is so good! Excellent, actually. Cass and Anya's slow burn chemistry singed my Kindle it was so hot, and I was on edge waiting for the other shoe to drop, for the secrets to be revealed. I loved both of them, but as much as I ended up liking possessive, dominant Cass, I think Anya was my favorite - strong and sassy, but always wanting to see the goodness in people, even her obnoxious, neglectful parents. I hate how much they hurt her and her brother. She was such a contrast to the hardened darkness in Cass, but she had a lightening influence on him. When alphas fall, they fall hard, I'm just glad he fell for Anya, who, though she was young and naรฏve, was the light to his dark. I hope these two writers team up again, if they do, I will be the first to download whatever it is they give us.

This romance was a bit slow and dragged in the middle. While it was an enemies to lovers romance, I donโt consider it a dark read. The hero never actually hurt the heroine and treated her fairly well. There were a lot of secrets being kept on both sides which was exhausting. Anya seemed to get confused easily and was very gullible. Her secret lasted too long. The heroโs friend seemed like the bad guy half the time.
Chemistry was ok but sex scenes were vague with very little tension.

This book consumed me, it had everything from suspense, betrayal, intrigue, secrets, emotional turmoil, dark romance, and characters you definitely want to meet. Cassius is a character you need to read to understand. he went through a very dark time and situation, he grew to be ruthless and with vengeance in mind, he never thought he will meet a woman that will bring him to his knees and yet make him a better man at the same time. Anya is a character that never expected for this story and yet I loved her so much, very well developed and her situation quite unique that had me intrigued.
There is a lot of action going on, there is so much story, the world-building in this story is one I want to read more about. It hooks you from the start but then you simply can't stop reading until you hit the last page. This author duo is perfect, they both combined their strengths in their writing abilities in the best way possible. I need to read way more books co-written by them. On the top list of reads on this genre for the year.
The audiobook was fantastic, the narrators Connor Crais and Vanessa Edwin did a brilliant job portraying the characters. I could feel every situation as if I was there, after reading the book I really needed to hear the audiobook, the editing and post-production were well done so if you like audiobooks you should give this a go, it certainly was a different experience from reading.

There is a lot of action going on, there is so much story, the world-building in this story is one I want to read more about. It hooks you from the start but then you simply can't stop reading until you hit the last page. This author duo is perfect, they both combined their strengths in their writing abilities in the best way possible. I need to read way more books co-written by them. On the top list of reads on this genre for the year.
The audiobook was fantastic, the narrators Connor Crais and Vanessa Edwin did a brilliant job portraying the characters. I could feel every situation as if I was there, after reading the book I really needed to hear the audiobook, the editing and post-production were well done so if you like audiobooks you should give this a go, it certainly was a different experience from reading.

The Ravishing by Ava Harrison and Vanessa Fewings was an enemies to lovers romance with some dark tone, some chemistry and some interesting twists.

Cassius Calvetti has kidnapped Anya Glassman, daughter of Stephen Glassman who killed his family. Anya is his revenge. But soon he realised that Anya may be the devil's spawn but she herself is an innocent and sweet soul. Anya should hate and fear her captor. But she feels so close to him after living a life of neglect and loneliness.

So all the elements were there. A tortured alpha hero with dark soul and twisted plans. A soft heroine with light. The plot with secrets. But somehow they failed to come together and the whole story falls flat. That's really surprising ( and disappointing) because I have loved previous books by these authors where they expertly delivered all the dark steamy beauty. Cassius had his moments of alpha possessiveness and arrogance but he comes across quite simple. For a man who has been planning for revenge so many years and who should be all fearsome and smart..he took some crazy bad decisions. Anya unknowingly gave away so many clues and he did not even follow up them! And Anya was all over the place. Really. I mean I do understand she was given a super sheltered and structured life. And I understand her fascination with his charisma. But other than that, I failed to connect with her. Like I couldn't connect with their chemistry. I was hoping a much darker and angsty vibe and it was pretty easy. It had moments of brilliance and I tried hard to hold onto them but they faded soon.
The Ravishing by Vanessa Fewings and Ava Harrison was something that could have been extraordinary but it was just ok. If you love enemies to lovers romance that is not too dark, this is for you.

This was my first book of ๐๐๐ฃ๐๐จ๐จ๐ ๐๐๐ฌ๐๐ฃ๐๐จ ๐๐ฃ๐ ๐ผ๐ซ๐ ๐๐๐ง๐ง๐๐จ๐ค๐ฃ and I finished this book in one day omg this is huge... From the beginning till the end.. the story captured my attention like no other and I kept reading & reading.
This story was full of secrets, suspense, thrill to no end. And also the amazing chemistry between ๐๐๐ฌ๐ฌ๐ข๐ฎ๐ฌ ๐๐ง๐ ๐๐ง๐ฒ๐ was fire.
Gosh ๐๐๐ฌ๐ฌ๐ข๐ฎ๐ฌ ๐๐ง๐ ๐๐ง๐ฒ๐ was just so perfect.
This was not the usual story we get where the MMC kidnapped the HMC but it was so much more.
๐๐๐ฌ๐ฌ๐ข๐ฎ๐ฌ was a character like no other, I want to give examples of other character for you to relate to how dark his character was but NO ๐๐๐ฌ๐ฌ๐ข๐ฎ๐ฌ was his own person from the beginning I was so intrude by him. His character was so dark, full of demons he battled throughout his whole life but when he let his guard down I haven't seen more humourous guy than him. He can be a big softie if he wanted to be but gosh how much I loved his dark side.
And ๐๐ง๐ฒ๐ omg I want to tell her to STOP seeing or seeking out good in everyone. I haven't seen more naive and innocent character than her but that's was all ๐๐ง๐ฒ๐ was because she was sassy and feisty to no end and specially not in a annoying way.
This story was like I was so suspicious of every character like who's going to be turnout the villian and it kept me on the edge of my seat while reading it. I'm so looking forward to reading more of these authors.

Danger, deceit, betrayal, revenge, intrigue, and suspense consume the pages of this dark mafia romance. This book has your alpha hero, Cassius, who is hell-bent on avenging his parents' death. He's been biding his time for years, waiting for the perfect time to strike. Then we have Anya, a sheltered, naive 18 year-0ld young lady who has no real-life experience who has been lied to her entire life. When she is the victim of a kidnapping, everything changes. Everything she thought she knew about her life slowly unravels. She is a victim of her father's wrongdoings, now caught in Cassius' thirst for retribution against her father. Will Anya survive Cassius' plot for revenge or will she end up being a casualty?
This book started off slow but definitely picked up about 1/3 of the way in. The angst is low but drama and action are high. What worked for me were the twists and turns, the vivid imagery, the character development, and the redemption. What didn't work for me was, at the beginning of the book, Cassius' and Anya's behavior was contradictory to who they were portrayed to be. Their actions and inner dialogue weren't believable and it felt like the transition in their relationship happened too fast and easy. The characters and story do evolve and I ended up enjoying the story more than I initially did. Their relationship was a bit of a slow burn but definitely progresses and heats up in the end. Overall, this was a good read.

To be honest, I was disappointed with this book. I was expecting a different tone and instead it was a lighter version of it. Cassius and Anya again I think they needed more tension between the two. The whole climax on Anya and her brother's past was boring as with the waring families. Sadly, this really didn't work out for me, but its my opinion and feel free to read to judge for yourself.

(audiobook) I love me some dark romance with strong emotions, and this one was a prefect example.
The main characters were fascinatingโthe ruthless monster whoโs in fact a man with too much love to give and chooses to hide his feelings, and the prisoner for life who finds freedom with her kidnapper and takes back control over her life. Surrounded by side characters with dubious motivations and contradictory actions, they reveal themselvesโand their weaknessesโto each other and start to heal. Itโs a dark romance, so expect cringy behaviors and Stockholm syndromโor is it ? But clearly, no unicorn or rainbow here : between the age gap, the lack of experience from Anya, and the control Cassius has over her, it starts as an unhealthy relationship with power imbalance. But it develops to become so much more.
The suspense part of the story keeps giving and giving, with several twists and turns. My only complain would be that it makes the villain of the story stupidly evil without a clear motivation besidesโฆ being evil. I prefer more nuanced characters.
It was also a bit exotic, and you get a sense of NOLA and its surroundingsโthe heat, the damp, the dangers, the culture. As someone not even from the USA, it was interesting to read.
I was really surprised by the casting of both narrators. Iโve rarely seen one so perfect. The female narrator offers a wide range of emotions and pace to give life to the characters, while the male narrator, with his deep voice and slow pace, makes for a great Cassius. I really enjoyed the audiobook, it gives another dimension to the story.

The Ravishing was a story that sounded perfect for me, and I was more than happy to dive in. Unfortunately, this one didnโt work for me. I can certainly see it appealing to many, but I was never sucked into this one.
There was the potential for many great things with this story, but nothing screamed out to me. I felt like I had read most elements before, with nothing shocking me in the way I had hoped. Add in the fact that I never felt any chemistry between the characters, and this one missed the mark for me. The tone just wasnโt for me, which is why Iโm likely to be in the minority with this one.
All in all, Iโm labelling this as an issue with me rather than the book.

AMAZING BOOK, STORYLINE and NARRATION.
Ava Harrison and Vanessa Fewings co-wrote this beauty and I feel this is all I could wish for in a darker romantic suspense novel - love, hate, heartbreak, joy, despair, steam, angst with a heart wrenching shocking twist. I donยดt even know how to describe the writing to give it justice.
Everything is just so eloquently described, from the feelings, moods, situations to the love making, such beautiful wording and stunning descriptions. I was wrapped up in this story from start to finish.
I was also blown away by the narration. I LOVE Vanessa Edwin and paired with Connor Crais was an exploding emotional indulgence. They were the perfect choice for ravishing our ears and take us on this journey. Connorยดs tone was raw, deep and demanding, you could hear Cassius pain and anger in his voice but also the softer tones with his emotions. AND, drunk Connor, female edition, really is a treat. Vanessa just plays on our emotions with that pure innocence, longing for more and that fight Anya has in her. Itยดs just stunning and her voice changing into the deeper male versions is flawless. They both really captivated my heart with this performance.
A traumatic childhood experience left Cassius Calvetti broken, cold and ruthless. He has one aim in life, revenge on the man who destroyed his whole world.
Anya Glassman, the girl who seemingly has everything, grew up loveless and lonely hidden away in a home of secrets and lies, where playing happy family was just a front. The only person she really cares about is her brother and even he seems to withdraw within himself more and more.
Anya was supposed to be the means to an end. Taken from one monster to be kept by another but is that man really a monster?
This really is a mesmerizing age-gap, enemies to lovers story with an incredible tension-filled slow burn that is sizzling sexy. Absolutely worth all the stars and a definite recommended read and/or listen!

OMG and Anya! Awwww!!! PERFECT! I loved their chemistry! The back and forth! The hate to love and all the other things between them!
