EFFACE

Rate this book
It's 2030, the planet is governed by women. It is a new society that attracts and lures men into large compounds called “Islands,” cutting them completely off from the rest of the civilization. Due to the appeal of an easy life and a promise of sizeable monetary compensation -- thousands upon thousands of men walk into these “Islands” voluntarily. By men giving up control, the planet has a chance to prosper in peace and harmony.

However, since women still need men for procreation, sex, and manual labor -- the new system provides certain classes of SEEDERS for procreation, NIGHTERS for sex, and HELPERS for manual work. The new leaders permit men, trained for these specific functions, to return to society strictly on a limited basis to perform these particular tasks.

Thirty years after, a group of female friends uncovers that the movement leaders are genetically controlling procreation, not permitting the birth of boys, aiming toward the total extermination of the male gender. Therefore, this group of women unites to find a solution.

It’s pretty timely and will expand the readers’ imagination on what could be an alternative time. In addition to women finding my novel compelling, men could learn a great deal about the power of women.

If you enjoyed "The Handmaid's Tale" and "The Hunger Games," you will love EFFACE .

Very well done book. From the entire plot of this book, I am now hoping that there will be another book in the process. I love this book simply how females can have such dominance in society, how it came to be after the falling of a male-dominated society, how the women created this place called the islands for males to go. It was a story that kept me interested until the end. I did not want to stop! I got addicted to how over time, they wanted the birth of boys not to happen. BUT I am going to stop talking. Not wanting to say a word. I want more!!!

What if the world was different!

From the very beginning you are pulled into a world where women have stood up and a a revolution has seen all mention taking out of society all around the world and placed on Islands. Crimes have lowered and life has become a lot easier for women worldwide. But is it that easy?
The characters are well thought out and each story has been giving a great ending including twists along the way. It would be interesting to see if a book two comes from this and to see what happens next. Maybe another revolution!

A fascinating alternative world

This book is really clever and a very astute reflection on gender roles in modern society. Some really interesting views and perceptions throughout the book alongside a great plot, well placed with well developed characters.
I really enjoyed this book.

Great read!

A time in the future where women run and dominate the land and men are removed and used as reproduction and gratification tools. The story tells of how women go about their daily lives in control of everything, without men but later find out a few home truths and things ain't quite as straight forward as they have been led to believe. A unique but excellent story which is quite thought prevoking, with a few 'what ifs' and 'if onlys'. Well written with a captivating storyline and some twists and turns to keeps your interest piqued. Recommended.

Interesting concept

Easy summer read. Enjoyable characters. Unrealistic concept but interesting experiment. But - Can't live with them; can't live without them.

Short Summary of the book:
The women have had enough and kicked the men out of society to an island of their own. Now, the women are in control and the world is a better place. Or is it? Men are only allowed to leave the island for specific reasons. As seeders, they impregnate the women with the next generation. Of course, only girls. As nighters, they act as male prostitutes, but no money changes hands. And there are also the helpers, who help with all the jobs that need doing. But is life as ideal as it seems?

Great story of women dominating the world after a revolution. They separated the men and assigned them roles and were called on as needed. A different view on how the world would be run by women, the crime lowered and the world a better place. A few twists to keep the reader guessing what was coming next. Really enjoyed this book. Different perspective and well written. Look forward to other books by this author.

I really enjoyed reading this book from a male perspective. The story is of futuristic female dominance. The book comes from different angles and gives the reader an original plot. The characters are well developed, whilst the book also delivers a few twists that you don’t see coming. Whilst the women initially feel this is a perfect world, cracks begin to develop. Well written and recommended.
