The Sullivans are a normal family. But after being transported to the magical world of Arenia, normal isn’t a luxury they can afford.

Note: Contains some profanity and a turkey, but not a profane turkey. I read this story on Royalroad and felt like helping the author out with a review.
I enjoy the story of grandpa Jack the most. He is very interesting.
The daughter is my least favorite as I find her boring and her ideals pretty moronic. Like she just attached herself to what was cool and has no idea of the depth to them so she just wings it.
The parents can be interesting but need more depth.
The son is interesting in how his epileptic fits have shaped him and how it will translate into his magic.
The turkey is the wildcard.
7/10 look forward to more.

A friend said I would find this humorous. Even with the multiple POVs apparently... so , I will give it a try.
This wasn't so bad.I may read the sequel in the future. Although the book probably would have been great with the grandfather alone.

I. am. obsessed.
I read a truly excessive amount of LitRPG and I picked this one up knowing nothing about it except the audiobook is narrated by Jeff Hayes and the cover is pretty. The God of Chance was definitely orchestrating that because this book is everything I've been looking for in a LitRPG. I devoured both books 1 & 2 in a few days and I neeeed the next book!
I love MCs who aren't the average 20something aggressively-mid able-bodied middle class bro, and this book feels like it's written for me in that aspect. Yes, we have the 20yo guy, but he has a med-dependent disability, and as someone on meds for things myself, I really enjoy seeing him trying to navigate the withdrawl and consequence of having no meds on his new world, and finding out how magic could help when you can't afford to see a healer for such a major condition. I think the whole situation is written very well.
But beyond that.. there are also TWO female MCs. And an 90something year old (bamf)! and one 40 something man. I really like seeing all these different perspectives, along with all their different personalities and how they all experience the same new world. And, I just really love seeing a whole family getting to experience it together. I can't even think of the last book I read where the MC wasn't an orphan. It's very refreshing to see an isekai with normal, mostly healthy, loving family dynamics, and one that still feels real and doesn't turn any of the characters 2D.
I just really really really hope that book 3 is still in progress!

Good to see this in Book form
Found this early on after the author started posting chapters from the book on RoyalRoad. His cover image won me over, I think we all judge a book by its cover once in awhile and its such a good cover.
What drew me in though was one particular character. Old man Jack, 95 years young and a complete badass. This book is funny and brilliant. I really love this story, it's written from the family pov the transition are good and each member has their own journey.
I enjoyed reading it so much I retold it to everyone I could get to listen my family now know the story, even if they didn't want to.
If you like the transferred to a new world story then read this. If you have no idea what I'm on about still read this book it's a good laugh.

This book has everything I don't like: multiple POVs, a "forced" sense of humor that doesn't feel funny, a sarcastic system, characters making stupid choices which are immediately rewarded, and more.
The only shinning part was the narration, but there's only so much Jeff Hayes can do when everything else in the book is basically everything I don't like in the genre.
This isn't a "bad" review, but a note to future self if I see the series again and wonder why I didn't like it. Goodreads really needs to adds notes so I don't have to leave reviews to myself.

Very entertaining
Well written, brash and entertaining, a everyday family whose very sanity is pushed to an extreme, in a dark comedy of errors or simple bad luck?, or is someone trying to screw them over? The action and misadventure doesn’t stop, a good read and value for your reading dollar.

What a delightful surprise to take a risk on a book and author you've never heard of be so damned entertained. Really entertaining book and can't wait to read the rest of it. Hope there's a lot more to it coz honestly the only problem I had with this was that it was just too darned short. Also, the turkey is awesome!

Currently not finished but I wanted to note... One of the MCs is supposed to have relatively high intelligence... but is quickly shown to be an extreme fool... but honestly seeming like a complete imbecile... Yep, hate that character. Was going to knock a star off just because of that one character. But at least in the end they got what they deserved so no deduction. Without that characters obnoxiousness and my not being a fan of shorter stories this may have made it to 4 stars.

Witty and well worth the trip
A family from earth is mistakenly portaled to a fantasy world and finds themselves almost completely unprepared.
Great fun, filled with wit and a very realistic sense of what being portaled to a system world might be.

Wow! This book captivated me from the beginning. The characters of the family are fascinating. This new place the arrived in (Arenia) is also fascinating. We are learning more about it as our characters go about figuring out how to live there. Now, I need to get that second book ASAP.

A Must Read
Great book I love the multiple characters point of views in the book and there will put together so there isn't a mess. There's not too much character development but you hardly notice with so many characters viewpoints I do wish it was longer.

Loved it
Fast paced page turner with interesting characters that you can instantly root for. I will definitely be getting book two. This one was awesome and I was disappointed when it ended.

Worth reading
The book has multiple points of view but flows well. The separation of characters at the start allows a larger view of the new world and the admin comments and notices give humour and still fits with the story.
Looking forward to the next book.

Good fun
Lots of humour. Mechanics are fairly standard litRPG. First litRPg I have ever read to to have a family as the MCs. And the laughs are great. Just don't mention the turkey!

Confused
Story is all over too many characters to follow and why is it that everytime someone makes a deal its immediately broken but the other never acknowledges it. I'm mad that I wanna read the next book to see if things clear up. 🙄 well we shall see

This wasn’t really what I expected. I need to say I had very low expectations but oh boy, how mistaken I was. I quite enjoyed, a really good weekend light reading.
The characters are relatable, the ambiance is well built enough and the plot is really funny. Can’t wait to read all of the series.

A good spin
Surprisingly good twist on the normal genre. Enjoyed the book with the characters development just starting out. I will definitely get the second book.

3.5 Stars, good star to a story but did not like the ending as it was very unfinished. Hope the second book that is now out will help finish some of the story lines in this series

An awesome start to this series! A pretty damn cool concept with a twist on the family isekai. A great ensemble cast, and I can't wait until Turkaletta evolves and does cool stuff. 👍🏽👍🏽
