He is everything I ever wanted. But I can never have him.
It was just one night with William Hart. He took my virginity, but I knew that had to be the end. I’m too young for him. And he’s too set in his bachelor ways.
I’m a shy country girl. William is a powerful lawyer with an extravagant city life. We could never work.
That doesn’t mean I don’t still want him though. He may be old enough to be my father, But that only makes me long for his touch.
One mistake leads to another. And when I find out I’m pregnant, I know I’m in trouble…
Stars: 4 Length: Novella POV: Dual Series: Daddy Knows Best #1 (stand alone) Ending: HEA Re-read? No
"I didn’t know if she was something I needed to get out of my system or if she was my soul mate."
This was a great read. There was a little bit of daddy kink, but not as much as I expected from a book with the word Daddy in the title and part of a series about daddies. So if you're expecting a lot of Daddy kink, be prepared to be disappointed.
Everything else in this book blew me away. I honestly wasn't expecting it to be as good at is what. It also felt really realistic without me feeling like the heroine was getting screwed over while William tried to figure out what he wanted. I like how he fought for her every step of the way. I completely related with Olivia. She was always "running" but only in an effort to not make assumptions that William wanted her and wanted to be with her. I can understand that. She didn't want to appear vulnerable or needy. I enjoyed getting to see their actual relationship progress, it wasn't the normal construction of showing the characters say they love each other and then suddenly we're in an epilogue ten years down the road. Again, I liked the realism.
The good: one of my favorite tropes: surprise pregnancy! Also a sweet virgin heroine who hasn’t shared her body with anyone else and belongs only to the hero. The writing was also on-point and flowed smoothly.
And oh yeah, the steamy bits were smokin.
But then there’s the bad, the reason why I can’t give this one 5 stars. The hero has known the heroine since she was 20 when she interned with his law office. And he wanted her then. Later in the book,he admits he must’ve been in love with her since the beginning. Unfortunately that’s not enough for him to keep his dick out of other women and I just can’t stand a hero who meets the heroine and yet can still slime around with other women.
PSA: a celibate hero is a sexy hero. How hard is it to write a hero who JUST👏🏽DOESNT👏🏽WANT👏🏽OTHER👏🏽WOMEN?!
The heroine wasn’t much better. She is only with the hero, but she willingly spreads her legs for him and gives him the gift of her innocence while ready to reject a relationship with him because he’s not who she believes is her soulmate and that’s who she wants a life with. Okaaaaayyyyyyy, so you want a soulmate, but not to SAVE YOURSELF for that soulmate? You want to throw away something beautiful and precious and irreplaceable on someone not good enough to build a life with? And every time you remember your first time, instead of it being with your soulmate, it’ll be another man? UTTERLY GROTESQUE. What a stupid disgusting female.
Other than that grossness, the story was ok. There was no cheating, and even tho the heroine went on a date witH OM, she regretted it. There’s an HEA with epilogue
Will I read anything more from this author? Not sure, this story left my skin crawling with how fucked up the two MCs are, but it could be a one off and I liked this authors easy, fluid writing style. I might give it another chance.
As a reader your appraisal of a book very much depends on your state of mind, your expectations and your beliefs. And personally I cannot accept that in the year 2020 a virgin accepts to have her first experience with an older man with history without using any protection. No surprise there that she ends up only pregnant without other more serious side effects. The story is a sequence of clichés and stereotypes and I just couldn’t find anything new compared to many other books about an older successful wealthier man falling for the innocent virgin poorer younger woman. I am sorry for this non enthusiastic review because when I decide to read and review an ARC I always hope to enjoy the book and leave a review that would make other readers buy and read the book. So at the end my evaluation is that this book suits a reader looking for the typical old-school romance and is not for someone expecting a more realistic love story.
This is the first book in the Daddy Knows Best Series and is a great start to the series. William Hart is an older attorney. This is Olivia and William's story. Emotional and overflowing with tension. He's older and her half-brother's friend. They're so opposite but you know what they say about opposites. This was a cute romance that was a good read. I read an arc and voluntarily chose to review it. The characters were likable and had some depth.
I love a great age gap story and this was great! Olivia likes living in the country, and wants a simple life. She’s known William for years, and he’s a lawyer living in New York. The attraction between the two is obvious and I loved their chemistry. This story is filled with tension, drama, it’s emotional, and it was and wonderful love story that all will enjoy.

This is my first book by this author and it the first in a series. I enjoyed these characters very much. They proved opposite attract. William is a older successful attorney and Olivia’s brothers friend. Olivia works on a farm and doesn’t see her brother much. These two have off the chart chemistry....looking forward to the next book.

A lovely story that I could not put down once I'd picked it up. Good and realistic characters that stick to their back stories. Thoroughly enjoyable. I received an ARC for an honest and voluntary review.
This was my first time reading a book by this author and I enjoyed it. It is a combination of different types of stories - older man/ younger woman ; accidental pregnancy ; dysfunctional family; and a few more. But the combination did not cloud the story so much that I was overwhelmed. The author did a good job of melding all these issues into a coherent read.

I enjoyed reading this book. The plot was easy to follow but it bordered on predictable. The characters were likable...but they were emotionally stunted. I loved the way the characters fed off of each other, but still fit in well with the age play in the story
I had a great time with William and Olivia These characters are engaging and well developed and have plenty of chemistry throughout the pages. What Olivia thinks is a one night stand ends up being more. The flow of the storyline was great.

It Takes a Mighty Good Man to Be Better Than No Man at All
Every girl deserves a daddy—a strong man who loves unconditionally, who sets clear, but fair boundaries and expectations, and who is always a source of strength and support. Unfortunately, Olivia Francis did not have such a man in her life when a girl begins to form her understanding of men. When Olivia was still a child, her father’s philandering ended his marriage to her mother, and a fatal accident when she was in her teens prevented the possibility of the fickle husband ever becoming a dedicated father. And so, without a strong, loving male influence, Olivia had grown up with nothing to counter her bitter mother’s perspective on life, seeing men as the source of her unhappiness.
But her father had provided her with a brother, Richard, 20 years her senior from an earlier marriage, but whose nature did not make him eager or willing to serve the role of surrogate father, providing the support and guidance Olivia sought. His great contribution to his young sister’s life had been to arrange an internship in the law office of an acquaintance—a younger fraternity brother—from Yale, William Hart, whose skills in family law had made him wealthy as the divorce lawyer for the rich and famous, but which had also made him wary of marriage as an option for himself. The older brother sought not so much to help his younger sister find a fulfilling, copacetic career pathway, but rather a pathway for connecting with rich men who might be marital prospects.
And while sweet natured, Olivia was reticent to rush into new settings filled with unknown challenges and people, but she was also smart, capable and so, was well-received in the Hart practice. Even William was impressed by her sweet nature and gentle smile, enjoying her company and recognizing that she had awakened his calloused heart in ways that the well-buffed and couture-attired women whom he usually entertained did not. And while she determined that law was not her future, her passion, she did ultimately find her own peaceful pathway after college working on an organic farm in Connecticut, located just a short train ride from New York City. So, while turning her back on hustle and bustle of NY City life and employment, she enjoyed touching base with her college roommate who lived and worked in the City, and she enjoyed staying in contact with William, who remained a constant support for the young intern.
Kelly Meyers tells a sweet and passionate story of a young girl becoming a woman with the loving attention and protection of a strong alpha daddy. The tale of an innocent’s introduction to the world of love and sex is told with care and sensitivity that leaves a smile on the reader’s face.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review and but enjoyed reading it so much that I purchased a copy through Kindle.
Olivia is an innocent young lady who has always been well-behaved, lived by the rules and severely overlooked. She has been raised by an overly controlling mother, and lived in the shadows of a successful much older stepbrother. She works on an organic farm, away from the big city and loves every minute of it.
William is an older, very successful man who has made a living assisting in the divorces of the rich and famous. Seeing what destruction comes from allowing feelings to rule you, he hardens his heart and merges through life. He is very good at what he does, and has little time to think about anything else.
When Olivia texts William, surprisingly he jumps at the chance to meet up with her. Years ago Olivia worked under an internship with William’s company. There had always been an attraction but that was all. Now there is a pull that can’t and won’t be denied. After the coffee, they go their separate ways again, only not for long. Olivia needs a place to stay, tries to meet up with her brother and finds herself in a situation. William happens to arrive just in time, and now sparks fly. She stays at William’s, and loses her innocence. Things seem to be moving in the right direction, well until morning anyway.
Olivia runs, but William gives chase. The attraction to each other, the forbidden images of what happened all weigh on them. Olivia wants forever and knows this was just a one time thing. William can’t let go, and wants to be with and needs Olivia, this is more than just once and done. Misunderstandings and the words they didn’t say linger. Just to add a little more spice to this mix, there is a surprise that pops up. The time for running is over, the time to speak the words unsaid has arrived. William is not going to take no for an answer until he is heard, and Olivia doesn’t want to hide from him anymore.
Once they talk, once they learn how each other feels, and the surprise is shared, there is no more fear about what a future might hold for them, and that future is a happy ever after. These two have many things going on in their minds and hearts, their journey throughout this book has you right there with them the whole time. A definite must read!
This is the first time I read this author book and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Olivia is a young woman who used to be a intern at a law firm but then had a change of heart and now works at a farm which her family was not happy about. William is a powerful divorce lawyer who has been interested in Olivia when she was at the law firm they talked but nothing can happened. Olivia goes into the city for work to for restaurants to do business for the farm. While there she phones her friend Grace and asked if she could stop at her place so while her friend was still at work she texted William to ask if would meet for a coffee he was surprised and said that he would meet her there. Back at graces place she invites some friends over and things don’t go to plan she leaves and phones her stepbrother if she could stop at his place at he tells her to meet him at the University club and he would give her the keys to his place but didn’t turn up. William turns up at the club see Olivia with some guy and said to her that she was going home with him and things from there start to heat up and get interesting.
The chemistry and the characters are great though out the book and the sex scenes are steamy.I love when you read the book that see how insecure and alone Olivia really is and how much William tries to break her out of her shell and to have confidence and believe more in herself and you will also find out why Olivia is the way that she is.
I really enjoyed this first book in the series it was was well written and enjoyable to read. I really do recommend reading this book and can’t wait to read the next book in the series and more books by this author.
I received this book and leave my honest opinion and review of this book.
I read this book in one go because I just couldn’t put it down, and what the main characters Olivia and William put themselves through at times drove me crazy, by all the mistakes , miss understandings, complications, set backs but mostly the lack of communication on both sides that kept them from moving forward at the time. William had the perfect life or so he thought but every now and then he realised something was missing (Family). Olivia was a shy girl brought up by a strict mother who treated her poorly and as she got older not much had changed there and her stepbrother Richard was know better he tried to run her life how he thought it should be. But his friend William Hart the lawyer was different he wanted to help and gave her an internship and he always listened to her and what she had to say and treated her with respect and that’s why she had a huge crush on him. Meeting him again while she was in town only made her want him still but that could never happen or could it. William wanted her and she wanted him and after there amazing night together she new then that it couldn’t go anywhere or could it. What happens next for our two love birds, get this book to find out.

🔷🔷ONE INCREDIBLE JOURNEY🔷🔷 Fabulous! Kelly weaves one intricately spun debacle, bringing all the heat and magic with this sizzling little jewel, threading all the passion, desire and flaming touches, cranking up the thrill and exuberance, baring one high octane treat, wrapping this baby up sleek, shiny and tight. Limitations are heightened and stretched, unmasking the frivolous facts, deals and debacles, igniting one combustible spin with such intensity and ardor, hooking you from the start and reeling you in for the duration. Heated glances and rising temps, baring the thrilling quirks and defying bents, baring the explosive ups and agonizing downs, breathtaking in it's simplicity and rousing in it's depth, blasting this jewel to life flawlessly. The magnetism, attraction and intense chemistry collides with increased vigor, revealing such profound emotions, binding them to one another beautifully. The characters, interactions and charged atmosphere along with relatable qualities and individual traits add diversity, transforming into genuine charismatic personalities. The scenes are strikingly sharp with abundant details and vivid descriptions creating an elaborate backdrop that makes the storyline explode. Fantastic job Kelly, thanks for sharing this bad boy with us.
It seemed that this would be the typical older man, younger woman romance. There's also the unexpected pregnancy. Of course, forty-two year old William was famous, very rich and sexually experienced. Twenty-two year old Olivia was a seemingly shy virgin. They both thought they knew what they wanted. He had achieved everything he wanted in life. He loved his career but was increasingly dissatisfied with his life. Olivia was satisfied with her career choice but was increasingly unhappy with her lack of a love life but refused to settle for less. William was was an extremely successful family lawyer. Olivia had worked as an intern one summer in his law firm. They both went their separate ways.
However, they were both meant for each other and met up one night by accident. He knew that there was more to their one night stand. She knew she had feelings for him but decided she was out of his class and decided to settle for one night which went against all she believed in. He refused to settle for a one night stand because he acknowledged that he felt more for her. Would his determination and love overcome her hesitancy? Would they simply make excellent co-parents or would they have a HEA? It's worth reading!
Olivia and William are worlds apart theres a huge age difference hes a divorce lawyer she likes nature and plants being outside but they still click shes had a huge crush on him forever hes always wanted her but thought he she only saw him as and older brother. Olivia only knows William because he went to college with her brother a huge jerk Richard but William has always been nice to her even while working in his law firm and they have remained friends and one night in the city will have them giving into there passion for each other. Olivia is sweet but when it comes to contraception she completely forgets her mother is a nightmare and so i think that's a major reason for her not being more responsible William should have known better. William is self assured except were Olivia is concerned they can't stay away from each other and now they have one majore little issue. I wasnt sure I would like this book because of the Daddy issue but the Author kept it to a minimum so as to not come of creepy so im giving this book 3.4 stars only because i didn't like the whole situation with her mother it was cringe worth and how anyone can take that crap even from a parent.
I was allowed to read and advance copy of this book via Booksprout and this is my honest review.
William Hart a sophisticated 40-ish years old lawyer in New York City. Olivia a shy 20-ish virginal country girl. But she’s had a crush on William for years and years never believing he would be interested in her. Plus, William is the friend of Olivia’s older half-brother and he would never approve of the two of them together. When Olivia is sent to NYC to conduct business for her job, she feels it’s only polite to reach out to William and invite him for coffee. William jumps at the chance dropping everything. Sparks ignite but they both tamp them down. When Olivia needs a place to stay later that night after finishing up her business her half-brother fails to pick her up and William rescues her. One thing leads to another those sparks flame into one hot night. But Olivia still thinks William would never want a commitment with her and William isn’t sure either. As time goes on with Olivia ignoring William’s attempts to reach out he becomes more desperate to see her again. Can these two opposites stop over-thinking and find their HEA? I was given an ARC and am happily reviewing it.
My Secret Daddy is a heart warming age gap romance with a surprise pregnancy and is Olivia and William's story. Olivia has had a crush on William ever since she met him years earlier while interning at his law firm, but thought it was one sided as why would someone like William, rich, older and powerful divorce lawyer be interested in someone like her a naïve, innocent country girl. Years later Olivia visits the city again and gets the courage to email William, hoping he will want to see her too! When William meets up with Olivia sparks fly, but Olivia being younger and innocent believes its only her that feels that way. Later that night when a series of events lead Olivia to William, things get heated between the two and Olivia realises it wasn't one sided after all! One night together changes their lives forever. Can they get over the obstacles they face and finally be a family or will it be too much to overcome? Read My Secret Daddy to find out! My Secret Daddy is a great story the only thing I didn't like was it was too short! I received an Arc of My Secret Daddy and I am voluntarily leaving my review.
Olivia works for an organic farm but sometimes she gets to go into the city for work for her boss. When she does she reconnects with people she knew from when she worked in the city. She texted William when she got into the city to see if he wanted to catch up. They had a great time and she left to go stay with a friend. However her friend decided to have a party and all she wanted to do was crash. She called her brother to see if she could crash with him and went to meet him but he has already left. William was running into the club when he saw Olivia and stopped to help her out. They ended back at his place and things heated up between them. Neither is sure what they want and some misunderstandings cause problems between them. Will William be able to convince Olivia to take a chance on him?
This is a great story that will hook you in the first chapter and leave you wanting more with the last one. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this book to any book lover.

Olivia, 22, is a college graduate who is a shy virgin and often finds meeting new people overwhelming so she works on an organic farm. When she had to go to the city to sell the produce she met up with her brother’s friend, William, 42, a high powered lawyer she had interned with during college. William was attracted to Olivia but thought he couldn’t act on his feelings because he was so much older. Later that evening he saves her from some unwanted advances and takes her back to his place. They give in to their passion but the next day Olivia rushes home before William is awake. Will Olivia and William realize they have feelings for each other and try to make things work despite their age and personality differences?
I give this story 4.5 stars. The author did a great job developing the characters so you could see why they acted as they did. This shorter story was enjoyable to read and I loved the epilogue.

STORY-Older powerful man falls for the girl that used to be one of his interns. He wants her but is not sure if he is ready to settle down and all she’s ever wanted was someone dependable to be with for the long haul. So she willing to trust him with her body but not her heart. But what happens when she finds out she’s pregnant?
Sounds great, right? Well here’s the pros/cons.
PROS- Quick read, enough back story on the main characters to understand their point of view. And again loved the story line.
CONS- The main characters spend way to much time thinking. Their are multiple chapters just spent on them over thinking. I would have really preferred either more dialogue or just more things going on in the story.
OVERALL- I would recommend trying this book. The book is well written, this is just a writing style I’m not crazy about. Maybe it was just these characters that are written this way and it different in other books. I would definitely try another book by this author to find out.
What a sh*t show. I detest writing horrible reviews. Authors spend so much time and love into writing a book, but this one was off the walls crazy. Just a few things that drove me nuts.... 1. “Call me Daddy!” “You’re such a good girl!” 2. He says how all of his one night stands know the drill in the beginning. Wham, bam, thank you ma’am, then they leave. Then a little further in, he remarks how he always takes care of them and cooks them breakfast the next morning. 3. Umm she never calls Grace back and says, “Hey your a crap friend for what you did!” Or Grace calls her to even check in?!!! 4. Richard, let’s just call him Dick. Come to this club and get my keys. He never decides to call her and give her the actual keys? She never calls him and asks him where he actually was???? 5. She doesn’t have a smart phone, but can email and get online to look up what pregnant people eat? 6. She wipes off her lipstick before she gets on the train because it was “too dramatic”?
I honestly don’t know how this book got almost a 4* review.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
