RUBBLE One look at a raggedy Miles who crashes the clubhouse and every instinct in his body is to keep and protect. Then he hears three words that would seal his fate. When Miles no longer needs his protection, Rubble must find an excuse to see him again. But Miles’s hot and cold reaction is sending Rubble mixed signals.
MILES
Miles’s desperate search for a protector leads him right into Rubble’s arms. For the second time. The huge biker, covered in tattoos, should scare him, but with the enormous threat at his back, all Rubble provides is comfort. He makes Miles feel safe…for the time being. Everyone thinks the threat to Miles is gone, but there’s an even bigger enemy that’s been haunting him for years. Miles has already caused the demise of one biker. The last thing he needs is for another to be killed while protecting him. As the darkness that lurks inches closer, what will it take for Miles to trust Rubble to protect him?
Miles High is a protector romance with a sweet virgin, who finds himself embroiled in the pits of an underground operation, and the biker who’ll risk his neck to save him. This book has light Daddy kink, a gruff biker trying to avoid the use of too many f-bombs, illicit activities. Trigger content includes physical, psychological, and sexual abuse.

Gianni Holmes is a USA TODAY Bestselling author who's embracing her love for literature by wielding the pen and creating stories of her own. She's the author of the popular series The Grimm Tales of Smoky Vale and The Taking Care series. Gianni is a former teacher of Spanish Language and Hispanic Literature.
These days she can be found writing books, hanging out with her readers, and raising her daughter as a single mother. You can keep in touch with her in the following places:
“Just so you know, I would let you collar me any day. I’d serve you on my knees without having to be coerced.”
We met both Miles and Rubble in the previous book. Miles was an assistant to Mort at the crematory but ends up losing his job when the place is taken. He's been at the mercy of a loan shark ever since his father took out a large loan to cover his eye surgery as a teenager. With his father unable to pay back the money, he's became the plaything and servant of said loan shark while being groomed. Rubble is tasked with watching over Miles and soon finds himself infatuated with him.
I was not too fond of Rubble in the previous book due to his actions and words towards Cass and Mort. He could not take no for an answer. However, once he and Mort put everything behind them, he becomes much more likeable. Especially once he gets involved with Miles and we learn more about him. He really comes to care for Miles and wants to take care of him as a Daddy. Miles has been taking care of his father, paying off his debt on top of being subjected to humiliating activities by the loan shark. He wants to be cared for and not have to always fend for himself.
I enjoyed the found family/friendship of the boys. They reach out to Miles and try to include him, and as much as he wants to be a part of them, he's worried about his situation potentially impacting them. I've come to adore Fable, Jaime, and Cass, so seeing Miles join them was cute.
This book is Daddy/boy lite. I just felt like it didn't go far enough for the kink which is the same issue I had with book one.
This book was also the least spicy out of the series. There aren't a lot of sex scenes, but the ones we do get are good, as expected of Gianni.
Overall I did enjoy it and look forward to the final book in the series, Crowe's Creed.
At first, I was quite enjoying myself and I saw some potential here. The pining coming from Rubble was great, and I simply just love a big bad biker turning into a bumbling mess over his love interest, desperately trying to not offend him or scare him off with his crude manners. But.. this set-up only lasted for about a second; Rubble got over himself pretty quick, and the cute behaviour turned into a complete lack of personality. Him and Miles had absolutely no development in their relationship, and their dynamic was bland as all hell.
Their whole relationship also didn't even make any sense anyway. Rubble's obsession at the beginning was based on absolutely nothing, and I don't even think they had more than one single conversation until half-way into the book, yet Rubble was somehow already head-over-heels in love with the guy and ready to go to war for him or something. It was nonsensical. And then when they finally do talk, it is completely empty conversation, where it's mostly just sexual. Yet they both proclaim love declarations speaking about forever. Why? Where on earth was the actual connection and build-up here? It was so weird and dull.
The whole 'daddy' thing between them also came right out of left field here and was completely random. It didn't fit their dynamic at all, and I simply don't think it should have been a thing here. It was awkward and felt inauthentic.
Another thing I found utterly ridiculous was the intense drive of the other 'boys' to become friends with Miles and have him be part of their group. It was so pushy, and it was way too much and far too soon. It was another one of those moments where I feel like it could have been a cute friendship if it weren't for the fact that it was completely unrealistic. It felt fake.
I have to say that one thing I was mildly interested in, however, was the whole shady business Miles was involved in. He was clearly in danger, being threatened, blackmailed and used in despicable ways. I was interested to find out more and more about it as the book went on, but I could hardly enjoy it, since at the very same time I was so annoyed that no one seemed to realize Miles was in such serious trouble. Miles basically came out and said so multiple times, but every time it seemed to either be forgotten, pushed aside or merely not pressed enough. Rubble supposedly wants to protect him, but he puts absolutely zero effort into actually achieving that, and I have to say that he was honestly one of the most dense people on earth.
Anyway, I ended up being bored out of my mind with this book. It couldn't hold my interest even a little and I wasn't invested at all. I eventually ended up skimming some of it near the end, since I honestly don't think I could have pushed myself to care even slightly about what was going on.
I adore the Grimm Tales of Smoky Vale series, and Miles High was such a great story! A lot of hurt comfort and not alone for Miles!
Miles is in the claws of a dangerous man who owns him. Miles has to save his body until the time is there to give himself away. He can’t get involved with Rubble, the member of the bikers club.
Rubble is getting crazy, all the hot and cold vibes coming from Miles. The boy seems to like him but can’t make up his mind. Ai, little does Rubble know, how afraid Miles is and how he doesn’t want to involve any of the members with the danger he’s in.
Miles allows himself just a short time with Rubble. Miles see-through Rubble’s rough exterior, the guy has a big heart, is possessive, and wants to protect Miles as a Daddy. If only Miles would let him.
With every chapter, it’s getting more and more clear for Rubble in what kind of position Miles is. The story is cleverly thought out, solidly written, and has ALL the feelings. Both men are well designed, opposites, big, rough, tough, uneducated, experienced, versus small, soft, kind, educated, and inexperienced, just a perfect fit. It’s a hot, emotional story with hurt comfort, sexiness, action and thrill, I loved it all. At some point I cried some ugly tears, it was so emotional. Overall a great addition to a series I can’t get enough of, and yes of course we meet the other Daddy’s and boys, they are all prominently present!!
There are some trigger warnings, don’t ignore them.
Mile’s high is a really good book that doesn’t focus entirely on kink or sex which was okay although it would of been nice if there was more sex especially more talk about those piercings. Miles has had a difficult life ever since his dad made a deal with a loan shark. He’s been made to do disgusting things by the man however things start to look up as rubble stakes his claim however the threat is still there as dangerous as ever.
Another story with some of my favourite bikers. When we met Miles and Rubble in the last book, I could not imagine the problems Miles was struggling with. But even how intimidated he seems, he had no problem wrapping Rubble around his little finger. And there's nothing better than seeing the biggest and meanest guys being soft and stuttering around the boy they like.
I like the two together, I like the slow burn of the story and how we get to see Jamie, Cass and Fable gaining confidence and standing up against the rules of the bikers. I'm curious to see how big the boys club will end up becoming.
Even with the sweet moments there are the dark and gritty as well which all the books have, but the readers that have come this far in the series are aware of that.
*4.5* Miles High is another dark, emotional and kinky story in the Grimm Tales series. As with previous books, be sure to read the content/trigger warnings. We have met Miles and Rubble before in this series but only really on the outskirts. This time we focus on them and why Miles does his best to keep his distance from everyone. He and Rubble struggle to stay away though, with a strong need for each other that keeps bringing them back together. Rubble eventually puts his foot down and demands Miles' time and attention but that comes at a high price, for them and others. As Miles' story unfolds, my heart broke for the situation he finds himself in and the horrible person that has control over him. There's no one like the Grimm Reapers to have at your back though and when one of them is yours and you're in with the boys, you're basically family and can depend on them for anything, something Miles takes a while to realise. Rubble wasn't a character I really liked before this book but getting to know him, as with the other bikers, he definitely has a softer side with a strong protective instinct. The two men give something to each other that no one else can and it's so great to read them get their HEA. The villain of the story is someone that I'm all for dealing with the way Rubble is up for, though that part ended a little different to how I was expecting. It made for hard reading with the way he treated Miles and what was expected of him so he definitely gets what's coming to him. I love the interaction we get with the other boys of the group. It's great to catch up and see how far they've come with everything that happens to each of them. I'm interested to see if anything comes up for Rubble's brother in the future. Of course, another recommended read from Gianni. A hard hitting story with a lot of heart to it that draws you in from the start. I'd say it's possible to read as a standalone but with developing friendships and relationships, it's better to read the series in order. I received an ARC via GRR and am happily giving a review.
I really enjoyed Rubble and Miles. I wasn't sure I would considering Rubble's behavior in past books but he was a great Daddy to Mile's and together they were sweet and 🔥
I'm always down for a gritty, MC romance, and Miles and Rubble's story did not disappoint! From Rubble's growly, possessive attitude to Miles' sweet innocence, the two of them immediately stole my heart and took me on one wild ride. Their relationship may have started tame, but their passion and desire for each other were off-the-charts. Even without knowing the extent of the debts Miles was paying off, my heart ached for the way it made him hold back from getting to know the Reapers and their boys. I'm so glad that Rubble had a stubborn streak when it came to Miles, because there were a couple of times when I was afraid he'd throw his hands up and decide Miles wasn't worth the fuss. Much to my delight, the two of them did stick things out, and holy heck was it worth the wait to see the way they devoured each other. Their chemistry was insane, and the Daddy/boy dynamic only made things hotter. Those moments were the ones I held onto when Miles was forced into unwanted situations, afraid for his life and the lives of those he cared about. This story certainly had its dark, scary, and sad moments, but when the growing romance between Rubble and Miles was so sweet, it was easy to push past them for the eventual happy ending. With plenty of biker action and an epic quest for vengeance, the storyline outside the romance was thrilling and unexpected. I thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of this story, and I can't wait to see what's next in this series!
**I voluntarily read an ARC of this book. This review expresses my honest thoughts and opinions.
Miles High is the fourth book in the Grimm Tales of Smoky Vale serie by Gianni Holmes. This book is about Miles and Rubble. I loved their story. It was sweet, sexy, a little dark, full of feels and very well written.
I hadn’t spent thirty-six years on this earth not to be able to scent desire, and Miles was giving off the aroma in waves. - Rubble

I’d never had anyone call me Daddy before. I never cared deeply enough about a boy to give them that privilege. My Opinions on: - This one was hard to read, first because I didn’t like Rubble from the previous book, but then because of the horrible things Miles was going through. There were some scenes that were too much so I skimmed through a lot of this book. It was like the equivalent of someone peeking above the blankets during a scary movie when trying to avoid the scary parts LOL. Good book and well written, just hurt my heart. - Rubble: So hard at first, after the way he treated Cass, I didn’t think I was going to be able to like him. As the story went on I started to like who he was, and the previous story started to just feel more like he was covering up by acting the way he was. He’s a big teddy bear but can turn into a grizzly real quick. - Miles: I don’t really feel one way or another for him. He obviously had a horrible time from teenage years to now so I understand his trauma for sure. I think if I had more time with him and Rubble without the stress of Tempus and Hook, I probably would have been able to bond to his character more. - Favorite Moment: At the end when we hear that are a thing??? I need a book or novella about this please and thank you. - World Building: I loved the continuation of the characters and how we find out more about their lives from other POV’s. We got to see Cass & Mort marry, a conversation about Cass’ stepdad which I had wanted an update on, an update on Max & Kane, etc. Everything flowed really well. I bless Gianni for not killing off any of the main players (yet). I am too bonded to them and need to keep them. - Favorite Side Character(s): - Hardest Part: Of course the scenes were Miles had been and then oh and when Mort was . Knowing it all happened is one thing, but reading it in real time was stressful.
I stared at his beautiful, lithe body, almost afraid to touch him. Afraid I would soil him. But that was exactly what I wanted to do to him. To take this innocent and sweet boy and leave streaks of dirt all over him. Then I would wash him clean, only to mess him up all over again. - Rubble

Miles High is the fourth book in this ongoing series, by this great author. Like all the previous books, it hooks you from page one and doesn’t let go, until the last word. This book is full of swoony, rough, outlaw motorcycle member’s, sweet boys in need of Daddy’s, angst, drama, and some law breaking, all for the greater good. Please note the triggers the author has in place, as some of the subject matter may not be for every reader.
Miles is a naïve, sweet, virginal twenty-four-year-old, adrift. He was first introduced in “The Mortician”. Due to circumstances beyond his control, he’s been living with secrets and a life he can’t call his own. Rubble is a big, tattooed biker, who never thought he’d want a boy calling him Daddy, until he laid eyes on Miles the first time he stumbled into the Clubhouse.
Now, all Rubble can think about is Miles. The fact that he literally can’t make a complete sentence when he’s first around him, is beyond endearing and cute. Miles has made sure to never fall for anyone, after the horrifying fallout the first time he tried to date. But he can’t get the big, stuttering biker off his mind, and finds himself drawn to him, despite knowing he can’t ever have him. Because of that, Miles tends to run hot, then cold, then does a disappearing act whenever they are together, all leaving Rubble bewildered, angry, and hot as hell.
Thrown together numerous times by fate and friends, these two finally give into their feelings. Miles is still keeping secrets, secrets that can cause hurt for anyone he gets close to. Rubble is determined to protect his boy, no matter the cost or consequences.
Gianni Holmes has created a wonderful world with her Smoky Vale Outlaw Motorcycle Club, and this book was once again one I couldn’t put down, until I got to the very last word. There’s lots of cameo’s and interactions with characters from the previous books, and Rubble and Miles have quickly moved to the top of my favorite characters to read, ever.
Glad I read this one even though the rating is not too high (in comparison to Mort's book...which... I did not like).
I loved the plot and the relationship. I love seeing all the older couples and forming new bonds. BUT! I'm starting to find the "boys" a bit creepy and just onedimensional. Are their daddies their whole personalities? It seems like it. The way they are trying to make Miles like them, have sex with them in the room... I just feel like everyone is the same. Or they are trying to be really similar, and belong. I would love for a character to be loved and not be in their group. Or I guess it is the fact that the group reappears in books and that makes it annoying.
This book was the least I liked in the series. Actually, the character Miles, is what I didn't like. Since he appeared in Cass and Mort's book, not feeling that he would like him. His story was sad, yes and at times he moved me and left with deadly hate of Tempus Black, Hook and even his father, who made terrible decisions, but was also a victim of the villain and did not deserve to die as he died. But I don't feel the same affinity for Miles, as feeling with all the other characters from other books.
Despite this, I really enjoyed Rubble, our dear Phinny, he hides his insecurities regarding his education, which he suffered in the hands of his father and his participation in the Club, with rudeness and fights with the other brothers of the Club. When he knows Miles, he relates to him, we can see his true self. Rubble, is sweet, attentive, careful, affectionate and would do anything not to see Miles, suffer. Too bad Miles, almost spends the whole book to trust him and tell what he has been suffering in the hands of his tormentors for much of his life. This for me was the weak point of history. It seemed that if Miles told Rubbles the truth, the story would have nowhere to go and the book would end there, so the author used it to extend the book The Maximo that can. For me, a big mistake.
This villain had great potential, and even if he didn't have to extend Miles' suffering, which Tempus did with him and so many other people could have involved the club more and even the other club in the region. But OK.
I would like a book or tale for Rubble, Luca and fighter Dusty.
Miles and Rubble's story picks up where the events of the previous book in this series left off, so I'd definitely recommend reading "The Mortician" (Book 3) and the "Miles High" prequel beforehand.
"Miles High" is very much an opposites-attract (with a delightful size difference) love story about first times. For rough-and-tumble Rubble (36), his first relationship - let alone one with a Daddy/boy dynamic - and being in love. For sweet and shy Miles (24), his first everything, including feeling safe and loved, period.
In each other they unexpectedly find a love literally worth fighting for, and the bumpy road to their HEA is as gentle and heartfelt (who knew gruff Rubble could be such a big, sweet softie of a Daddy?) as it is harrowing and dangerous. Miles's backstory, with its lasting repercussions here (no spoilers), came as a surprise - to me, and the other characters - and it makes sense why he feels so heartbreakingly alone in this gritty world.
Cass, Jamie and Fable all befriending Miles and so freely welcoming him into their tight "biker boys club" friendship circle and the larger Reapers found family warms the heart and really adds to the story. I received a reading e-copy of this book and have left this honest review voluntarily. (Also read in KU.)
Gianni Holmes is a one-click author for me, and I was so excited to see another installment in The Grimm Tales of Smoky Vale. These bikers are rough, cruel, possessive, and passionate. I've adored each and every one of them.
In this installment, we have Miles, a sweet, innocent, boy who desperately wants freedom to fall in love. However, he is basically a slave to Tempus Black, an evil SOB who abuses and uses Miles in humiliating and degrading ways to pay his father's debt. Rubble is the biker who is drawn to Miles, but he cannot understand why Miles keeps pushing him away.
I'll be honest, by about 50% though I was frustrated that Miles just didn't tell Rubble what was going on. I understand his reasoning, but the evil guys already knew about Rubble and his biker friends, so his life was in danger anyway. I think I literally shouted at my book, "TELL HIM!" I was so happy when Miles finally confided in Rubble.
The romance between these two was smoking hot. Every intimate moment just exceeded the previous one, and I was so happy when Miles told Rubble he wanted him to be his first. *Sigh* He was tired to being controlled and I loved it!
I was not too happy about a certain biker being injured and I cried. These guys are like family and I don't like seeing them in danger. I HATED Hook and was glad to see him get his comeuppance.
All in all, I would highly recommend this book! It was phenomenal and I look forward to the next one!
Miles and Rubble are a perfect match and I adored every step of their way!
Most of what I wrote about the previous books in this series still applies here: I love the writing and enjoy the club and their comradship, I love the mix of romance, grit, action and kink. And I love that there are always multiple plot lines, but wish their interaction would be balanced more conclusively.
This book felt like it was two thirds written and then the author came up with the idea of a convoluted and exciting showdown for the end - so she added one or two extra scenes somewhere in the first half that are supposed to make it seem like these were planned plot arcs from the beginning that nicely wrap up all together in one big bang. Obviously I have no idea if that is even remotely close to what happened when this book was written, but it's just how this feels to me. One scene in the first half and one towards the end do not make a conclusive plot arc, is my point. Aside from that, I thought the covered topics and characters were actually great choices, so it's a pity that they didn't get more pages devoted to them.
Still, I loved reading and once started could hardly stop until I was through. Can't wait for the next one. Please, gimme the twins soon!
I loved Miles High! Gianni Holmes knows how to craft a story that gets you from the start. Of course it does help that I have followed this series like an obsessed stalker. I know going in to any of The Grimm Tales of Smoky Vale that there will be a sweet boy who has had more than their fair share of crapstastic events thrusted apon them without their permission. There will also be an incredible gorgeous, overprotective, gruff Biker Daddy to take of their every need, whether they think they need it or not. It's like instalove but with more realism and grit. Another feature which draws me to Gianni Holmes is all the action and suspense that she weaves throughout the story. It's not just hot & steamy bedroom action, but guns blazing, fist punching action too! I really enjoy the way that all the Biker Daddies throughout the series have made their boys feel special and loved, especially when the boys feel like they don't deserve it. I was given an opportunity for an ARC for a review and this was my honest review.
This one sucked me right in and never let me go....... I loved it!!! Slow burn, push/ pull, hurt/comfort, and let's not forget the sweetest love between daddy and his boy ❤️ this one had it all!! ! Through friends and fate these two guys kept getting put in each others path, although Miles had a big secret he could not keep denying the magnetic pull toward the biggest, baddest, most soft hearted biker in this club, Rubble ❤️ It was so frustrating at times to see Miles and Rubble suffer without each other, my heart broke for both these guys.....but it was well worth the wait in the end. Also, this was the first book I've read in this series, although I wasn't versed on the characters, I wasn't lost either....I will be one-clicking this full series after this review ❤️ I cannot wait to sink my teeth into the rest of this series and it's characters, this book was phenomenal and I highly recommend this read. Gianni Holmes is a master at m/m romance!!
* I received an ARC from GRR, this is my open and honest review
I love these guys. I look forward to reading their stories, because I just want to know more about them. (I need a story about the twins, please and thank you.)
Miles, who was Mort's assistant, is a sweet, kinda awkward guy. He's also in trouble, but he's been hiding it for a long time. There is a man who thinks that he owns Miles, no matter how much Miles hates it. But there's also Rubble.
Rubble was guarding Miles, and there was just something about him. Rubble actually counted the days that they were separated because it affected him so much. RUbble really wants to be with Miles, but it isn't all that easy, because Miles is hot and cold.
I really like Miles. I got so angry on his behalf, for so many reasons. I really wanted him to be happy all the time. He went through a lot, and most of it wasn't even his fault.
Rubble is a good guy. I think that he is down on himself more than he should be, because he isn't a bad guy, but he's just had people in his ears for years, telling him horrible things. I think that he is really good for Miles though.
When trouble brings Miles to the clubhouse, Rubble is captivated by the man in pyjamas and spectacles. A protection job is all Rubble is tasked with but Miles is hard to forget once his task is done. With a little bit of scheming and a club wedding that is taking place, Rubble gets to see Miles a little more. But Miles is hiding something and when the consequences of the past can no longer be ignored, it’s up to Rubble and the MC to step in and make things right.
Miles plays hot and cold for most part of the story and I did feel sorry for Rubble quite a bit. But, when they do finally get together, the scenes are steamy and sexy. The storyline was intriguing and unique and the author captures your attention by weaving in the past characters into this story as well with some added touches of danger and action as well. There are light aspects of Daddy kink in this one which makes for an enjoyable read. A good addition to the series.
This is the 4th book in the Smoky Vale series and every time I read one of these it becomes my favourite. So I’ve decided to love them all equally ;). Miles and Rubble are so attracted to each other and I really wanted them to get together. But they have to sort out some terrible drama in Miles’s life first and as soon as he finally tells Rubble about it, Rubble can’t wait to help. I loved Rubble’s protectiveness towards his boy, him finally being chosen first and also him becoming a part of the “big guns” in the Reapers club. Miles becoming part of the boys club with Cass, Fable and Jamie was so good, those boys really take care of each other and their men too of course. A lot of hurt/angst, drama, steam, sweetness and thrill in this book, it’s so well written I just devoured it. It can be read as a stand alone, but I think reading the previous books will enhance the experience tenfold - and they’re so good. I highly recommend this series.
Find your inner courage and take the leap! Rubble was instantly attracted to Miles when he first met him. He got an opportunity to spend time with him, get to know him better and he felt drawn to him. Miles, was going through some things. Some serious life threatening things! He is constantly on the defensive and looking over his shoulder. He is afraid to make friends, because they could be in danger because of him. Rubble is tongue tied and basically incoherent whenever he is face to face with Miles, he's so smitten. Because of his conflicting challenges, Miles blows hot and cold for everyone. No one knows what to make of him. When will the boys and Rubble catch on? Will Rubble finally be able to hold a conversation with Miles. Will Rubble be there for Miles? Will Rubble have his dicussion with Hook? Nice story, a bit rough. Nicely done. I received an ARC and am voluntarily leaving a review.
It was great to be back in Smoky Vale again and see everyone, but Miles was so effing infuriating that he cost his story a whole star. The only thing I hate more than The Big 80% Breakup is when one character decides he has to be King of the Martyrs. And Miles went after that title so hard you'd think he was getting paid for that shit. I don't think you're noble for sacrificing yourself so that others don't have to deal with your sorry ass, so STOP DOING THAT! It just makes me want to ragdoll you until your teeth rattle. That being said, the story itself was engaging, and it did keep me turning pages, even if I was yelling at Miles the whole time. I'm looking forward to the next one (and, of course, the twins' story), but who the heck is Crowe? I don't remember coming across him at all so far.
This book had me feeling all kinds of ways. It had me laughing, crying, mad, and in suspense. When Miles was first introduced, I never suspected he was in such a bad situation and in dire need of a protector. Miles's pain and suffering was revealed little by little and with every reveal my heart ached for him. But he was so strong, even with all his pain he was still able to smile at the world. So I was very happy that Rubble did not give up on him. He was exactly what Miles needed. And boy let me tell you, they were HOT..HOT..HOT together. But there was also sweetness, understanding, and love. And of course we can't forget all the action and suspense that had me reading all night (who needs sleep). I needed to know what will happen next. I am so addicted to these tough, tender, funny, and loyal group of guys. I want more!!
Rubble and Miles are officially my favorite Smokey Vale Couple! this ones ticks all my boxes! Big tough biker who goes all soft for the boy he wants and that young virgin boy who has also been through a lot of tough times. Rubble instantly wants Miles, and Miles is attracted to Rubble, but Miles is determined not to bring more danger on anyone, especially a biker again! . I do not want to give too much of that part of the plot away as it brings us all that gritty dark violence and action! This is another hard earned relationship! Slow burn to some seriously Steamy times! Told in both of their POV so you can experience all the fear, insecurities, attraction and love! I received an ARC of this book and if you love your romances to be more real, gritty and full of action and suspense I recommend this whole series!
This series is one of my top five MC series. I really love all the different personalities and couples. The family that is created among the group. This series gets better and better as we get new books and novellas. You can read this as a standalone, but there are recurring characters that have pretty big roles, and references to past events (jokes) that you might not understand. This book is about Miles and Rubble. Miles who was Morts (from The Mortician) assistant and Rubble, a newish brother MC biker. He is trying to find his footing and his place in the group. Miles definitely helps bring him into the “inner circle”. There is lots of action and lots of sex (very hot sex). I definitely recommend this book. Honestly this entire series! I received an ARC of this from GRR and this is my honest review.
This is my first book by this author, so I didn't really know what to expect. The book had an intriguing premise and I found that the author did a good job of bringing all the elements together without weighing down the story, but I did find that the romance needed something more. Miles and Rubble went from acquaintances to friends to lovers, with their attraction always in the forefront of their every interaction. Of course, they had chemistry, but I appreciated the author's effort in establishing a connection too.
This is the 4th book in the series, so I recommend you read the Miles High Prequel so you can get a feel for the MCs and can experience first-hand their initial meeting.
All in all, a quick read with a bit of action and sweet and steamy moments between Rubble and Miles.
It's no secret I love this series and this was a great addition. This was a romance between Rubble, a member of the motorcycle club, and Miles, the ex-employee of Mort, who we met in the last book and I was definitely intrigued by. Well, I had no idea just what was really going on with Miles! Turns out there's a lot more than meets the eye, and I'm going to tell you absolutely nothing because the answer is revealed bit by bit and adds a lot to the novel. This had all the ingredients we've come to expect--a boy and his possessive biker boyfriend. I personally found Rubble extremely endearing. Whenever he had to ask the boys for advice with Miles I thought it was hilarious. This was funny, sexy, and romantic, with some great melodrama that was the perfect level of over-the-top. As a word of warning, there are some dark and intense scenes in this. I want to reach into the future to read the next one in the series right away!! Sadly, though, I do not have access to time travel so I will just have to wait with the rest of you. **I received a copy of this book from Gay Romance Reviews and this is my honest review**
What an amazing story! I absolutely love the Grimm Tales series. I love how the author brings these characters to life and shows a true depth to them. There is so much more than meets the eye with all of the characters in this series. At first Rubble seemed like a troublemaker and Miles was the nerdy guy caught in the middle of club business, but there is so much more than meets the eye. I really liked the way Rubble and Miles relationship built throughout the book as they found the way to each other and overcome the obstacles in their lives. The club boys are so entertaining with their antics and the bonds they build with each other brings so much to the stories in this series.
I received an advanced copy of this book and this is my honest review.
