The Cape May Movie Theater used to be an adored, lively place in town until it closed in 1989 and quickly became a distant memory. That all changes when Katherine Duffield, the star of Dinner under the Stars, a movie that was filmed in Cape May, purchases it in hopes of having it restored in time for the film’s premiere.
Jimmy, Katherine’s old friend, has taken on the task of restoring the theater to its original glory. With the help of Dave and his crew, he quickly realizes that in order to have the theater completed by the premiere date, they will need quite a bit more help.
Donna begins attending college classes on campus and feels out of place as she realizes how much older she is than everyone in the classroom. Meanwhile, Dale tires of the long commute to Porridge, his restaurant in Collingswood, and considers a different plan.
Judy and Bob are invited to go skiing with their friends on Valentine’s weekend. What starts out as an exciting adventure turns into a bit of a scary experience.
Sarah struggles with allowing her newly hired managers to run the Monarch Coffeehouse when she’s not there. At the same time, she’s become obsessed with finding the snowy owl along the South Jersey Coast.
Liz overextends herself with interior design clients and working from home becomes anything but easy.
Margaret is thrilled for the upcoming spring gardening season and begins winter sowing seeds. In the process, she thinks about the prospect of starting fresh in a new home with Dave.
In Book 9 of the Cape May Series, feel the awe and wonder of the historic Cape May Movie Theater’s transformation while the cold winter months give everyone hope for a spring full of new life.

Memorable Quotes: Harper sighed. “Mom, there isn’t going to be school tomorrow. I’m almost positive we’ll have a snow day.” Abby squealed and clapped her hands. “I hope school is closed tomorrow for the snow.” Margaret piled the peppers, carrots, parsnips, and green beans in her left arm, then shut the fridge door. “Well, in that case, would you rather have homework to do now or when you can play in the snow?” Abby nodded. “Mom’s right. Let’s get it done now,” she said as she grabbed Harper’s hand and pulled her towards the dining room where their backpacks full of books sat.
My rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️½🎞🎟🎭🎥❄️
My thoughts: 🔖36 of 117 CHAPTER FIVE - I knew it was going to be a movie and plays theater. 🔖63 CHAPTER EIGHT - It's okay, a bit everywhere with the plot.
The storyline was very scattered and a lot of the storylines fell off with no resolution but the main storyline about the restoration of the theater was very cliché, but made the book for me. It doesn't take off until the second half, which is when they finally stuck with a storyline, but it was very enjoyable seeing the community come together. I'm surprised there haven't been any pregnancies, that's what's missing. 🤣
Recommend to others: Yes, these are quick feel-good reads, like a cross between BSC and Cedar Cove.

Love, Love, Love this series. Sweet, charming, and lovely. Perfect for getting away from the news and world for just a little while. I want to go visit them all. You know that sigh that a dog gives, when he or she is up next to you on the sofa. That's this series, contentment and love. I don't think there's anything else that I can say to recommend Cape May Books.
I loved ever ything about this book. As I actually live in Atlantic county in a small town called Hammonton, I know alot of the places in the book as we have have traveled down through Galloway township to Cape May many times. This is a feel good book and I highly recommend it.
It is fun to follow the characters, they become like family. Liked that Donna is up for yhe challenge of going back to college. Dave and Margaret getting baby kittens almost got me in the mood for a new kitten. I loved how the community pulls together to get the Movie theater ready for the premiere.
This story was slower and less interesting than the other books I’ve read in the series. I liked that the author described Chris as having a beard since the author isn’t usually descriptive about the physical appearance of the characters. There were a few humorous moments but overall a lackluster story.
This story was fun to read about reviving an old theater in Cape May!A movie star who filmed in town, now wants to remodel the old theater for a grand opening, sooner than later!
