When Kandy is crushed, Mirella tracks the killer.

Kandy has made it in the music industry, touring Australia and topping the dance charts, despite her manager marketing her as a trans artist. House-mate Mirella finds her dead, and Officer Marlin calls it "the case with thirty suspects".
Kandy's partner Steen wants justice, and is prepared to join the Hells Angels to make that happen. Mirella and Aboriginal housemate Shayna help Officer Marlin by acting as bait to lure suspects. Shayna attends a Sweat Lodge at an Indigenous students conference, and recalls a vital clue. Steen receives information at the funeral which leads him to Bangkok to track an evil psychopath. Set in Brisbane and Logan, Australia, Mirella rides her bike, and drives a dodgy van around the humid city, hunting down suspects. Mirella won't give up like Marlin seems to have done. Mirella's experience with crime, discrimination and police corruption starts her on her path to become an Investigator.

This book was a good read. I enjoyed the story line and the characters. I loved how all the friends got together to find the killer. I would definitely recommend.

I won this on a Goodreads giveaway

I wanted to like this book. Part way through I could see it being a cheesy Netflix movie. There was too much bouncing between time and character point of view for me to keep up with the odd plot development. Every character in the book has a complicated and traumatic story that is involved with the solving of the murder.

Kandy Krush wasn't what I expected, the title character lives a great life, we feel for her loss. Mirella Castle seems shallow, so when her secret is exposed, it's a shock. A different slant on sexuality, police, bikers and investigators.

Kandy is a girl you can't help liking, and one of Mirella's first real friends. Student Mirella can see that the cop investigating Kandy's murder is incompetent. With her flatmates, Mark and Shayna, and Steen the biker, Mirella finds the killer. And they paint the town red.

I got this in a goodreads giveaway and was excited to read it. From the description, it sounds like an amazing story. But I couldn't get into it. Good idea for a story though! Maybe more editing?
