Read the bonus epilogue in this omnibus of Arcane Prison, a dark fantasy romance series.
Book 1 - Caged
Magic is illegal in Ravenswood.
Those of us with power are collected and stuffed into prisons. They found my mother before I was even born. I've spent my whole life caged, beaten and experimented on. I'm nothing but a nightingale shifter, little power to combat the torture. The last thing I ever expected was to find my mates in this hell, but they're brought in, snarling and furious and huge. Too bad if our mate bond is discovered, we'll be killed. And too bad they want nothing to do with a weak bird who can only run from danger. They don't have time for a mate when they need to work on their plan to escape and get back to the people who need them. They act like I do when I have plans of my own that don't include a broody incubus, a blood-thirsty unicorn, or a bratty vampire. Unfortunately, we may end up needing each other if we want to survive the Arcane Prison, much less find our way to freedom.
Book 2 - Collared
Freedom isn’t quite what I expected.
Life outside the prison is colorful and loud and overwhelming. And dangerous. Just because we’re free doesn’t mean we’re safe. With the knowledge Rowan is still alive and finally free of the prison I’ve been trapped in my whole life, I set out to find and rescue my mate. I miss my other three, but they have a job to do and so do I. We don’t have the luxury of settling down and living happily ever after in this world. Not yet. Maybe one day we can find that happy ending. But not until I find my missing mate. Or until I discover it’s all a lie and he is actually dead. The world I’ve never experienced is seductive and terrifying, but it doesn’t take long before I’m back in familiar circumstances. With danger closing in on me, I have to figure out what I’m willing to sacrifice to find that happy ending. If they even exist.
Book 3 - Chained
I'm done being chained, collared, caged.
I'm done being hunted. I'm done being weak. The one who has made so much of my life a living hell isn't going to win. Even if ending him kills me too.

An expert in parkour, Helene Gadot moonlights as a Nail Polish Namer and occasional ghostwriter. She lives with her husband and trio of rugrats in the South. Helene has a serious coffee mug and throw pillow addiction, and when she isn't reading or writing, she's probably shopping online.
Great series with great characters and loads of excitement and romance. Super dark and twisted in places. If I hadn't enjoyed it so much I would have taken more stars off for the spelling errors. Those were annoying but I still loved the story.
In this world all the people with magical abilities are called arcanes and they are hunted and imprisoned by the people without magical abilities. Allegra is a nightingale shifter, born in a prison where she has to endure constant torture, experiments and bullying by guards. When a new transport with inmates arrives, Allegra is surprised to discover three mates at once.
Despite all the hardship she has faced in her life, Allegra is still a compassionate young woman who tries to help others where she can. I love the strength in this young woman; she thinks she is weak because she is "only" a nightinggale shifter, but she has suffered more than anyone else in that prison and still manages to be kind and looking out for others. Both her and her mates are not exactly happy to meet eachother in this hellhole, each of them for their own reasons, but because of that their meeting does not result in immediate sunshine and rainbows...
I absolutely loved the variety of supernaturals in this series; it is always fun to read about more than the usual wolf shifter or vampire and the author managed to give all these arcanes interesting personalities. I like the fact that she doesn't immediately forgive some of the men for the things they said and did at first. She lets them work for their forgiveness, but is also strong enough to acknowledge her own mistakes.
I really loved the story, the different characters and the development of their relationships. I did however have a problem with some typos I found or sentences that didn't always seem to match. There weren't that many errors and it didn't take away the enjoyment of reading this series, but it was a little unfortunate. Despite that, this series is definitely worth the read.
