I’ve made a good life for myself in Starlight Bay. As the art teacher at the elementary school, I love working with kids and teaching them how to express themselves through creativity. I’ve got a great family, a nice place to live, and the job of my dreams. It would be selfish to want anything more.
Then Theo shows up.
The last thing I need to rock my carefully balanced boat is seeing the man I haven’t been able to stop thinking about for the past twelve years. I don’t know what possesses me to offer to help his niece with an art project. Now I’m wishing we could share a whole lot more than the heated looks passing between us.
Theo
When a horrible accident leaves me in charge of my nine-year-old niece, I trade in my combat boots to head home to Starlight Bay. I’d planned on making the military my career, but I’ve never been one to shy away from responsibility, no matter how unsuited I might be for the job.
When Sable Marks walks into my parents’ ice cream shop, my carefully curated plans get blown to bits. Once upon a time we were friends, and almost became more. Now she’s here, her curves too delicious to resist. But there’s no way she’ll want me now… not when I left her behind and am coming back as a single dad.

When Eve London was a girl she wanted to be a trapeze artist. Instead, she grew up to be like most women–a juggler–trying to keep bunches of balls in the air. Now she spends her days writing about the kind of men she likes – sexy, shameless, and just a little bit sarcastic.
I thought this was just okay. It didn’t really give me too many feels and the smexy times weren’t anything to write home about so this was definitely one I could take or leave.
Theo left for the military 12 years ago without telling Sable how he really felt about her. All this time Sable has been thinking that her feeling for Theo have not been returned. When Theo returns to town to be guardian to his niece, he can’t wait to see Sable again and hopefully get the chance to tell her how he really feels. A sweet quick read with genuine characters. The story was well written and the cute little girl was an added bonus. I received an arc copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
WOW!! Fab*u*lous Absolutely love this one!! I couldn't put this one down. This was a nice quick, short read.
Theo and Sable knew each other growing up, they lived next door to one another. They became friends and graduated together. They started making out on their graduation night but were interrupted, the next day Theo was off to the military. Theo was going to make the military his career, but his brother and sister in law were killed in an auto accident leaving their nine year old daughter to him. Theo has to leave the military to take care of Fiona back in Starlight Bay. Sable became an art teacher and is now Fiona's teacher. When she heads to Scoops, the ice cream parlor Fiona's grandparents own she finds Theo. Sable talks to Theo about Fiona's artwork and how she thinks she should enter a contest that is coming up. Later when Theo picks Fiona up he talks to her about the contest and as long as Sable is willing to help she'll enter. Sable isn't sure why she offered to help Fiona, but when she's around Theo all the thoughts come back to her about that night after graduation. Before Sable leaves after helping Fiona with her project she offers to come back the next day to help braid her hair and wrap a present. The next day before Sable knocks she tries to think of an excuse but can't come up with any. Sable helps Fiona with her hair then they wrap the birthday present together. After they take Fiona to a birthday party Theo offers to take Sable out. Sable tells him she'd rather head back home, so Theo takes her back to his home. He tries on the costume that she brought over so he can play Blackbeard. As Sable is looking at Fiona's family pictures Theo comes out, and she can't take her eyes off him. Theo rubs her check and sparks fly, then they begin kissing. Theo asks her if she wants to finish what they started twelve years ago after they graduated. Sable asks hi if he remembers that and he tells her it's all he's thought about. They make out, then make love to one another. Sable doesn't want to get attached to Theo and Fiona because he talked about leaving Starlight Bay and heading to Boston for work. Theo invites Sable over for dinner with him and Fiona. While Fiona works on her artwork Theo calls Sable outback. He starts making out with her then tells her he turned down the job in Boston and is going to stay in Starlight Bay. Sable tells him no, but Theo tells her he wants to have a family with her. Sable tells him she can't have kids, that he deserves someone better. Sable leaves Theo's home and avoid him over the next few days until the festival. Fiona takes her artwork to be displayed and they find Sable. She asks him what he needs and he tells her they made something for her. Theo and Fiona made her a comic strip with how they want their family to be. Fiona tells Sable that there are other children out there that need a mom like Sable. Theo tells Sable he wants her and always has. Theo asks Sable if she'll give them a chance, she begins to kiss him. Fiona gets in the middle and tells them its a family hug. A few months later, Fiona came in second place for the art contest. Since she didn't win the trip to Florida, Theo takes her anyway. When they arrive Fiona is tired so she stays with her grandmother to take a nap. Theo and Sable head out to go on Pirates of the Caribbean ride. Sable thinks they missed it, but then another ship pulls up, she asks him what did he do. They sit in the middle of the ship, then Theo pulls out a small box. When Sable opens it she finds a ring inside, Theo tells her she's it for him and always has been. Theo asks Sable to marry him and she tells him yes forever. Dreams really could come true and Sable wasn’t going to lose sight of hers ever again.

A sweet short instalove second chance friends to lovers love story penned by Eve London.
Theo has always crushed on his best friend Sable since the eighth grade and when they graduated he missed his opportunity to express how he felt when he got called up for active duty.
Now twelve years later he returns to Starlight Bay after been honorably discharged to take guardianship of his niece Fiona a year after her parents passing and has to decide whether he wants to stay or leave for a job opportunity in Boston.
Sable was heartbroken when Theo left and never told Theo how she felt about him.
Now she is Fiona's Art teacher and will be helping her with a project for a competition and in doing so will be in close proximity with Theo.......
Lots of steam and heat follow when they eventually succumb to their feelings!
Sable has a heartbreaking reason why she has never reached her dream of settling down and having kids.
Will she convey this to her long lost love Theo and will he accept it and stay?
I volantarily received an ARC for an honest review.
i read this book as part of an arc program. This is the second chance romance between Sable and Theo. Sable is now an art teacher and Theo has recently retired from the military after he got custody of his brother's daughter after his brother and sister-in-law were killed in an accident. Theo is staying for the summer and running his parent's ice cream shop and Sable goes to see him to ask about his niece entering an art competition for a summer festival. Theo is happy to see Sable and finds himself very attracted to her and wonders if she feels the same. they were best friends when they were in high school and had one night together that was cut short before he left for basic training. Sable has never forgot Theo and has always been in love with him, but she knows he doesn't feel the same way. When Theo flirts with Sable,s he wonders if maybe she was wrong about how he feels. I really enjoyed this story. I like that Theo was so sure of his feelings and he wanted to be with Sable. I think they were meant to be together.
Single Dad Dilemna is a super cute short story with a dollop of steam. The opposite of insta-love, Theo and Sable’s love story is the ultimate slowburn, starting as a crush in the eighth grade and culminating in a didn’t-quite-make-it-to-the-finish-line high school graduation night to remember. Fat-forward twelve years and the same feelings are simmering just below the surface. Sable is sure Theo had forgotten what almost happened on graduation night, but Theo is about to prove her wrong...
I can never resist a single dad story and this one doesn’t disappoint. Fiona is Theo’s niece and he’s just been given custody of her after her parents died tragically. She is a cutie pie and is a fun secondary character.
This is Sable and Theo’s love story. He went into the military 12 years ago, planning on making it his career, when he had to come home and take guardianship of his niece who had just lost her parents. They had both had a crush on each other, but he left before it turned into more. Now each thinks the other either forgot them or would no longer be interested after so much time has passed. Which one will have the courage to step up first and find out that their love is ready to spark into flames?
This is a gentle and slow build-up, but it’s heart-warming. With the addition of Theo’s niece, Fiona, who is sweet and wonderful, a loving family is waiting to get started! Grab your copy and share their story.
This book shows love does last over time. Sable loved Theo when they were teenagers but he joined the service and figured it wouldn't be fair to her when he may break gone for long periods. Ten years pass, his brother and sister-in-law died in a car accident leaving their daughter in his care. He comes back and finds his feelings haven't changed but can he convince Sable. Read this book, it's good. :)
Theo and Sable have known each other forever and had feelings for each other for just as long. Now that they are older and both back in town will the spark still be there. This is a slow, slow burn love story that took me on an emotional ride with these two as they lived their lives never forgetting about each other. The writing is well done, the characters are believable and the ending is the cherry on top. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.
This was a very sweet novella by London. It was shorter than the other MOTM books but it was still cute. The story was nice and I count it as a second chance romance. Sign me up!
I loved how they were friends growing up. It was too bad they didn't get the chance to tell each other how they felt after graduation. The reason he had to leave the military was sad, but it brought them together again, and they found the family they both wanted.
Another great book to add to The Starlight bay series. I’m really loving this man of the month club. Eve did a fantastic job with this story! And can’t wait to read more 🥰
This story was sweet , romantic, steamy and safe qith a sweet HEA and no real drama. They both fell instantly for each other and got a makeshift insta family👍👍👍
Single Dad Dilemma by Eve London is the sixth book in the multi-author Starlight Bay series. This book is a delicious, creamy, sweet and lickable romance. The story is about Sable Marks and Theo Brindle, and his nine year old niece Fiona. Sable is the art teacher at the local elementary school in her home town of Starlight Bay. She has made a good life for herself if lonely sometimes. Theo grew up in Starlight Bay and joined the Army right out of high school. He spent ten years serving but had to get discharged when his older brother and sister-in-law. Matt and Trina, had been killed in an accident which meant he was the guardian of Fiona. For the past year she has been looked after her grandparents, Theo's parents, while he was arranging to come back home. It is now the beginning of the summer and Theo is back, living in his brother's house and looking after his parents ice cream shop, Scoops. He has been offered a job working for a security company a friend owns but he is taking the summer to figure where things out. Sable and Theo and his brother had been friends when they were younger as they grew up as neighbors. Sable had always been drawing and was talented. Actually she had always tried to get Theo and Matt to make comic books with her. Sable had a huge crush on Theo but he left her her with a crushed heart when he left town. But Sable and Theo's paths more than cross when she talks with he and Fiona about her entering an art contest for the Pirate Days Festival. Fiona is talented and also creative and Sable thinks she has a real chance of winning the all expense paid trip to the big pirate festival in Tampa, Florida. Will Sable and Theo have a shot at a HEA in the small town of Starlight Bay?
This is a well written and fun short story. The characters are nicely developed and super lovable, including Fiona. I enjoyed the story-line and the way Sable and Theo may have instant chemistry and palpable attraction but yet slowly build to a sizzling hot passionate smexy time and then a lot more. The epilogue just tops off the whole story.
Sable and Theo grew up together, but time and circumstances pulled them apart before they were able to share their feeling. Years later and a tragedy bring Sable and Theo back to the same town. Theo has become the guardian of his niece after her parents were killed in an accident. Back home and not sure what to do, Theo helps at the family's store and does what he can to help his niece. Sable stayed in town and become the art teacher at the elementary, she saw something in his niece's work, Sable can't help but encourage her to work. Even if that meant spend time with Theo.
Sable and Theo's relationship is one that grow from the love of friends, the more the spend time together they realize exactly what they want in their lives. An amazingly written love story. It is sweet and filled with feelings.

Everything’s better with whipped cream This book is about Sable and Theo. They have a history (as friends), and their worlds collide again in Starlight Bay after all that time has passed. Knowing and seeing that he had returned home shook her up, but she had an ulterior motive for seeking him out in his parents’ ice-cream shop. Hopefully they’ll be able to work together for the benefit of his young niece. It’s an emotional, sweet, steamy and fun read. There are second chances, pirates, ice-cream and lovely memories. I give this book four and a quarter flavoured stars. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
After a family emergency brings Theo home and he is left responsible for his young niece Theo finds himself dreaming of what could of been with his childhood friend Sable.
After all these years her heart still wonders what would of become of her relationship with her childhood friend had he not left her behind.
Times are different
They are different
Circumstances are different
But their feelings for one another?
Not so different

They’d been best friends all their lives until the day he left for boot camp and things almost changed, but he left. After several years later Theo has returned for a family member only this time he may get his chance with Sable. A emotional storyline with some heartbreak and loss, but can love turn everything around for all the people involved. A heartwarming story.

This is a really sweet story. Ms. London does is once again with Theo & Sable's story! The characters were so loveable and perfect for one another. Their chemistry was palpable! Thier passion was off-the-charts. A great story.
