Rizia Rahman was an Indian-born Bangladeshi novelist. She had a number of novels and short stories to her credit. Her works cut across all genres.
She wrote in various genres since the late sixties: novels, short stories, essays, literary criticism, belles-lettres, and juvenile fiction. Beginning with straight forward narratives, she moved on to magic realism and multilayered structures. She explored important human issues in a sympathetic and engaging manner.
