Tillie Cole

Amazon & USA Today Best Selling Author, Tillie Cole, is a Northern girl through and through. She originates from a place called Teesside on that little but awesomely sunny (okay I exaggerate) Isle called Great Britain. She was brought up surrounded by her English rose mother -- a farmer's daughter, her crazy Scottish father, a savagely sarcastic sister and a multitude of rescue animals and horses.
Being a scary blend of Scottish and English, Tillie embraces both cultures; her English heritage through her love of HP sauce and freshly made Yorkshire Puddings, and her Scottish which is mostly demonstrated by her frighteningly foul-mouthed episodes of pure rage and her much loved dirty jokes.

Having been born and raised as a Teesside Smoggie, Tillie, at age nineteen, moved forty miles north to the 'Toon', Newcastle-Upon-Tyne, where she attended Newcastle University and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts honours degree in Religious Studies. She returned two years later to complete a Post-Graduate Certificate in Teaching High School Social Studies. Tillie, regards Newcastle to be a home from home and enjoyed the Newcastle Geordie way of life for seven 'proper mint' and 'lush' years.

One summers day, after finishing reading her thousandth book on her much loved and treasured Kindle, Tillie turned to her husband and declared, "D'you know, I have a great idea for a story. I could write a book." Several months later, after repeating the same tired line at the close of another completed story, she was scolded by her husband to shut up talking about writing a novel and "just bloody do it!" For the first time in eleven years, Tillie actually took his advice (he is still trying to get over the shock) and immediately set off on a crazy journey, delving deep into her fertile imagination.

Tillie, ever since, has written from the heart. She combines her passion for anything camp and glittery with her love of humour and dark brooding men (most often muscled and tattooed – they’re her weakness!). She also has a serious side (believe it or not!) and loves to immerse herself in the complex study of World Religions, History and Cultural Studies and creates fantasy stories that enable her to thread serious issues and topics into her writing -- yep, there's more to this girl than profanity and sparkles!

After six years of teaching high school Social Studies and following her Professional Rugby Player husband around Europe, they have finally given up their nomadic way of life and settled in Calgary, Alberta where Tillie spends most of her days (and many a late night) lost in a writing euphoria or pursuing a dazzling career as a barrel-racing, tasselled-chap wearing, Stetson-sporting cowgirl... Ye-haw!

JEGUDIEL: is the second full length, dark romance book in the series 'Deadly Virtues' by Tillie Cole. Spoken in 'Dual Perspectives.'

Yet again Tillie has given me an unforgettable, unputdownable, unique read!

Anything by Tillie, I highly anticipate, her ability to give us unique reads is what cemented her as my unicorn author🦄.

As soon as this landed on my kindle it was game over, life was put on hold, my partners lips were put on mute, I love this sick, twisted, emotionally raw world Tillie has created, she brings these characters to life, each one broken beyond measure, their demons call to you, this book more so than the one before wrung so many emotions out of me, to say I loved it, is an understatement!

Whilst on a quest to bring down the Brethren they stumble across 6 others (Noa, Dinah, Candace, Jo, Naomi and Beth) plus one more (Priscilla) who stays out of the action, they are like themselves who had escaped from the claws of hell. Banding them all-together making them well oiled fighting machines

Diel: Is in his twenties, never been in love or kissed anyone, He's like a bomb which could detonate at any given moment, ravaged and controlled by his inner monster clawing its way up to the surface endlessly, he's uncontrollable without the electric metal collar around his neck, but it's a necessity.

Noa: Our pink haired fearless heroine, their war is done whilst cloaked in darkness, she's second in command of the Coven, a thief in the night, and is the best at what she does. She's also a Wiccan witch descendant.

The Fallen: Brethren-branded sinners who were taken away as kids and exoercised for years under the Brethren's hands.

The Coven: A sinful band of heretics. Witches, occultists, pagans and best of all, the devil's favourite whores.

I love this book and all its dark holiness! I just love it! I don't know what to say in order to do it justice but trust me if you loved the first two books in the series then this one has raised the bar even higher.

Not only do we get our precious and tortured Fallen brothers but we also get a badass Coven of witches just as tortured and focused on eradicating the evil Brethren. I wasn't expecting this unconventional merging of families but I'm so hyped for what's to come in future books.

Tillie Cole you've done it again, making me fall in love with a character that in real life would have made me run for the hills.

Diel (Jegudiel) is one of the seven Fallen brothers who was tortured and traumatized by the Brethren (cruel priests who believed that evil exists inside the seven boys). Diel has only one thing in mind and that's to kill and bring devastation to all Brethren priests and followers. His need makes it impossible for him to control himself from killing anyone which is why he is restrained by a metal collar around his neck, sending electric shocks throughout his body when he looses control.

Enter Noa a member of the Coven, women who were taken as children by the Brethren just like the Fallen had.
They know what it is like to be under the cruel hands of the evil priests, so they are just as intend on destroying and saving every other child that has fallen in their vile clutches.
Noa has a hidden darkness inside that can sense and relate to Diel's constant battle to control his own beast of darkness. That is why she intents on freeing Diel from this torture. And let me tell you when she achieves that well favorite scene in the whole book.

What I also liked was the interaction between the Fallen and the Coven.

They all refer to each other as brothers and sisters but there are hints that some of their relationships may develop further in future books and I'm so excited for that. For example, Bara and his "little mute fire witch" (Naomi), as well as Beth and Michael .

In the end more is revealed about Diel's past as well as the endless evil acts of the Brethren priests that continue to impact the lives of the Fallen, the Coven and the people related to them.

Can't wait to see what happens next but I trust Tillie Cole to blow my mind with her delicious dark reads.

Jegudiel - Charity Will Cure Greed

Diel was the second of the seven Fallen men who had been tortured by pervert priests in order to exorcise his innate evil.

His journey brought me to my knees, broke my heart in so many pieces and left me speechless!
Until Noa appeared in his life and gave herself freely to him and didn’t expect anything in return. She was a great warrior and saviour!

This story was remarkably written with spectacular twists and turns, the characters were extraordinary, the romance and the suspense were beyond expectations, I couldn’t stop reading!
Even the slight repetitions or inner thoughts didn’t deter me from devouring it!!

My congratulations to Tillie Cole and hopefully the next book won’t take another two years to be released!! 🙏

This series is not for every reader due to its extremely dark issues.

I was so excited to see this book was now out!! It has been a long wait…. Almost too long if I am being honest!!! I wasn’t disappointed in the least! Tillie Cole has once again written a brilliant dark romance story that had me on the edge of my seat more than once! I will warn readers that this isn’t for everyone. There are more than a few triggers… and some of the content could be very upsetting for some. As for me, I loved it and I am very eager for more. My fingers are crossed that we won’t have to wait another few years for the next instalment!

Thank you to my dear Buddy Reader; Steph!! I love reading books with you and I definitely enjoyed reading this particular one with you!!!!❤️❤️🥰💘

While the last book and the couple dynamics there were a bit much for me, and I couldn’t really suspend my own ideas of right and wrong, I had no such issues with this one.

This is the kind of darkness I’m used to reading from Tillie. That being said.. geez, there was so much pain and torture and ugliness, that I feel like I need a cleansing after reading this.

Yes, the love story was beautiful. Noa and Diel give hope to the idea of finding love in the darkness. Their devotion to each other is absolute and it made it bearable to read the rest of the story.

The last chapter from Auguste’s POV tho.. it made the HFN tainted. The rage and disgust I felt when I read about what what he was doing to Destiny and Cara, but not just that. Knowing that there are probably hundreds or thousands of young women robbed of their personhood and tortured into a slavery of the mind and body.. it makes me wanna puke. I can’t get that scene and the rage out of my head.

I don’t know how long will take for the next book to come out but I’m guessing years. Tillie doesn’t publish often and even so, there are plenty other series of hers that need sequels.

Overall, even though the couple got some semblance of HFN, the story feels incomplete. I also felt like the bad guys, the ones who are truly the masters of all evil, conveniently escape or they get killed by some easy stabbing - when they have tortured, burned, mutilated, drowned, raped etc thousands of kids. I’m not satisfied. Dark books need to give me more than the gore and suffering being inflicted on our main leads. Give me the most vicious, bloody vengeance, hopefully Auguste will get that. Him dying is not enough.

Finally my favorite anti-heroes are back 😭
I’ve been waiting for this to release for a long time making it my most anticipated read of the year. And as always, Mrs Tillie Cole delivereeeed! 🥰

In this 2nd installment we meet the fiercest of the Fallen, Diel, a man so haunted that needed a shock collar to tame his inner monster.
In a quest of continuing to kill the Brethren priests, he encounters Noa, 2nd in command of the Coven, a group of women who has the same goal as them; kill and torture the Brethren while saving the captive children from their wrath.

It was more than I had expected, loved every single thing, but the highlight was the author’s writing.
She has such a beautiful way with words making you feel every single emotion the MCs are experiencing.
That chapter where Noa removes his collar, *chef kiss*.

As always, the bond that’s formed between the Fallen and the Coven makes me cry with how much they support each other after all the shit they’ve been through 🥺

And it doesn’t hurt to see a bunch of pedophiles, abusers be killed in the worst possible way, right? 😇

Please Tillie don’t make us wait too much for another book in this series 🥺🙏🏻

if y’all are new here or don’t know me, Tillie is my favorite author. Like “I’ve read all of her books and I like all of them” favorite author. She releases something, I instantly buy. No question asked, no synopsis read. I trust her 100%. I don’t do this with ANYONE else.

Now, Jegudiel... I have a lot of thoughts and I’m not sure how to express them, so warning, this is gonna be a mess :)

One thing that’s important to know, is that Tillie’s series have to be read in order. Her series are not only about the two main characters, but about the whole family. All of her series are like this. Yes, the focus is on one couple, but a lot of important stuff relevant to the whole group happens in each book and you can be lost if you read them out of order.

This wasn’t any different. Raphael is one of the most “independent” books she has on a series. But this one?? CRITICAL in the Deadly Virtues series. Is revenge plot driven which 🖤🖤WE LOVE WE STAN WE SUPPORT🖤🖤

Fuck this pedos priests and their rancid dicks. I’m always up for some castration, mutilation, torture and killing sprees against people like them 🤩🤩🤩🤩

like seriously,

description

The focus here is Jegudiel (or Diel) and Noa. As usual, their connection was instant. That’s the other thing, most of Tillie’s characters (if not all) are instant. And that’s because her dark romances characters are dark and they usually don’t know love or connection beyond lust, so in their fcked up minds, once they encounter THAT person, they crave it, they need it and it consumes them. Diel and Noa are super intense since the very beginning and I liked it. I was not expecting all the breakdowns and troubles Diel had here. Noa literally arrives like a killer angel to save him. I love her for that.

She is part of “The Coven”, they are the equals to “The Fallen” who we already know. They suffered under “The Brethren” hand. I had a bit of troubles at the beginning when they’re all in Eden Manor. Cause these girlies were... CONFIDENT (which we love) but to the point were it was annoying. They belittled the guys at times in their condescending tones. But after the first training session it all settles down and they start to bond.

The time jump was one of the thing I didn’t like. It’s a 8-week jump and Noa went from being closed off and having this mask on to being vulnerable and saying “I need you” to Diel. Don’t get me wrong, I loved them together, but the transition was choppy. A few things felt like that, the transition needed something more, cause at times the book did feel chopped up and I couldn’t keep up everyone. I was also a bit uncomfortable at how they ended up having sex every single time something serious happened or was discussed. I think it was their newfound way of coping and seeking comfort, but like you can sleep it off too u know 👀

The conflict was predictable cause it was pretty much the same as the last book, but the new information gave us sooo much to look forward to. I’m not sure if Sela is next or someone else with Cara. OR Michael and Beth. Is one of those three, I’m sure.

Diel is now one of my favorite people ever. He was just a little boy who needed love and I wanted to hug him all the time. Listen... I get why some people would think they’re too codependent or maybe even “toxic” with how obsessed they are with each other, BUT guys, this is dark romance. They are survivors and serial killers, you can’t expect for them to be like us here on the real world. I always give more leeway in dark romances because of the circumstances. I love me some consuming borderline obsessed with e/o dark romance. The “I’ve never known love or caress or comfort or peace before you and now i won’t ever EVER let you go i’m obsessed” love.

I’m concerned about Gabe, though. I’m pretty sure his book is gonna be the last one and I’m scared. He’s suffering so much 🥺🥺🥺

Anyways, I enjoyed this a lot. I read it in one sitting and I just wanna say: A family that kills together, stays together 🖤

p.s. the last pov from Auguste??? Jail. Disgusting. Sick. I hate him.

Jegudiel is the second book in the Deadly Virtues. Tillie Cole has once again crafted a dark and twisted world where the lines of good and evil are deliciously blurred. The Fallen is a brotherhood of men who have been tortured and left destroyed by the church a place that should have offered them comfort and redemption. They are on a quest for revenge and there isn't anything that will stand in their way. Diel is a monster who is forced to wear a collar to help control his urges. The most dangerous of the brothers it seems as if all hope is lost for him until he meets her. Noa is a woman on a mission. She and her sisters are also badly damaged by the church and seek their revenge. When the brotherhood and the sisters come together, they become an unstoppable force. How Noa and Diel connect is unexpected and offers healing for them both.

"ɪ ᴡᴏɴ'ᴛ ʟᴇᴀᴠᴇ ʏᴏᴜ."
Told in dual POV, Jegudiel is an action-packed read full of passion, violence, and raw desperation. My heart broke for both Noa and Diel and I could not help but connect with them both. How they come together is beautiful and torturous at the same time. There is nothing better than a broken spirit becoming whole again.
"ᴛʜᴇɪʀ ʜᴇᴀʀᴛꜱ ᴡᴇʀᴇ ᴇɴᴛᴡɪɴᴇᴅ, ᴛʜᴇɪʀ ꜱᴏᴜʟꜱ ᴡᴏᴠᴇɴ. ᴛʜᴇʏ ᴡᴇʀᴇ ᴍᴇᴀɴᴛ ᴛᴏ ʙᴇ."
Overall, Jegudiel is an absolute must-read for dark romance fans. Tillie Cole has crafted a world that will draw you in from the first word and hold you captive until the last. I am completely enraptured by this series and I cannot wait for more!

Historians have said, if the world could write by itself, it would write like Leo Tolstoy.
I haven't read Leo Tolstoy's work, but I think I can relate.

If the world could write by itself, It would write like Tillie Cole.

She pictured Diel writhing on the floor, his voice lethal and dark, but the fear in his eyes shining so brightly it could have blotted out the midday sun. Fear of her. Not of what she might do to hurt him, but of what she might do to soothe him. For someone who had been so cruelly and wickedly treated for too many years to count, the act of kindness and the simplicity of an embrace could be as destructive as a sword plunged directly into the heart.

4.5 stars

I've said it time and time again, and I'll still say it. Tillie Cole, you write poetry. You display art behind your words, wisdom beyond our years and hold the greatest undertone in all of them, simplicity.

The Depth of simplicity in such emotions, sadness, anger, happiness, sorrow, grief, passion, longing, even mundane activities, you bring them to such light and color them in the most vivid imaginations, leaving me gasping in respect for the honor I hold to read such masterpiece.

And all I wish is to absorb them and feed them to my soul.

Jegudiel. A fearless, courageous and vicious warrior. Who would've thought he was a man trapped of his own fears?

Noa. A strong, courageous and valiant commander. Who would've thought she was a woman choking of her own mistakes.

“Neo-pagan witches and fallen archangels,” Uriel said, bitterness dripping from his mouth. “What fucking wild imaginations the Brethren bastards have.”

The most beautiful concept about this book was Love. How cliche right? It's a romance book, DUH IDIOT. But that's the thing, most romance book talk about love, but how far, how deeply do you feel it? Does it touch your soul? Does it change your perspective in life? Does it make you ache, longing to experience a love no perfect than for soulmates deserve? Because that is what this book undoubtedly gave. It's the greatest perception of love, how two people, two broken people, stripped as a human being, trapped under their own body, yelling and howling for someone to hear, for someone to just hold them.

And even under their silence, they heard each other.

My favorite part of this book was how much Diel loved her, and how equally in love Noa was with him. That's the thing about Romance, it always feels like one adores and cherishes the other much more. But not this book, not this world and certainly not a work of Tillie.

Diel and Noa would go through the ends of the world for each other, go through hell together and fight back conquered. Failure is not an answer, redemption is their only answer.

In most romance books, it's always the hero who cherished the ground his lady walks on, who is so magnetized and smitten and struck in awe and love by the keeper of his soul, and in this book, Diel didn't fail to show that, but what's even more beautiful is how Noa didn't fail to show that too. She cherished the ground he walked on, she marveled at the warmth of his soul, captivated by his beauty, absolutely smitten of his crazed desire and head over hell for the man who will fight for her, until his very last breath.
And I doubt it'll end at the very last breath, the motherfucker will just come back and haunt you.

Like storm clouds clearing, the agony of their tortured pasts was cast out of the room , and it was just the two of them again . Diel and Noa. An accused witch and a fallen angel. Both dark and light, and each needing the touch of the other— destined, split souls matched …… found.

Jegudiel. My precious monster. Over the naked eye, you're a complex character, a devil not in disguise, a savage, merciless, untamed beast. A man, no a monster who has no control of himself.
Damned those people who shame you that way.
Because you are anything but. You think yourself cold and indifferent when really you feel so much, you feel so much it overpowers you with so much emotion.
Who would've thought that a man who is thirsty, hungry for blood, crazed at the sight of cruel savagery could hold the most relatable understandings of man?
I personally think he is a basal foundation of humanity.
Trapped and Imprisoned, isolated and detached, fueled by anger and pain. The cries of a young child echoed in his adulthood.
But he is not just an uncontrollable killing machine, he was a shell of a man, who didn't know any better.
Until he found his better.

Gasping for air, Diel submitted to the monster’s sudden surge of power to snarl, “I want this fucking collar off. I want to be who I was fucking born to be without the restraints.” Diel tensed and threw the monster back from taking control. The monster retreated, but its anger-tipped words echoed around Diel’s head like they were being blasted through speakers. Diel’s stomach turned and a fissure of panic slithered across his fractured soul at that thought. The thought off actually being free from the collar … of what that would look like, feel like … Diel knew his monster could never be freed. He knew the collar could never come off. It would consume Diel. It would eradicate every part of who he was.

Noa. Fearless and downright amazing Noa. Thank you. Thank you thank you, thank you. Thank you for loving Diel with your whole damn heart, thank you for fighting for him, for believing in him, thank you for having faith in him when he didn't have in himself, thank you for protecting him, and thank you so much for loving him with every fiber of your heart.

An ache broke out in his chest. In his entire life he hadn’t experienced anything like that kind of love. He couldn’t even imagine what it would be like … to have someone who loved him with that kind of fierceness, that kind of understanding and unwavering faith.

The best part of this book in my opinion Is the Fallen. A family of ruthless killers, savage fantasies and cruel intent. A family I long to be a part of.

The Fallen had stealth. They could fight. They could exist in darkness and rid the world of people it was better off without. They were as trained as any military unit would ever be. But where others killed to keep people safe, the Fallen killed because , for them, there was simply no other choice.

One of the sad truths of book 1 was how the fallen family was barely mentioned, oh sweet Jesus, thank you Tillie Cole for bringing more of the family, their bond, the relation and all of their glory.

These fearless men render me in awe as always and I love every single one of them.

The only reason I am taking a half star off was the pacing of Noa's character, her gateway to darkness was a bit rushed in my opinion, it left me confused and bewildered at what had just happened.

It just didn't make sense how fast that was y'know? Like she just looked at diel across from him and was like, okay I'ma be a killer too.

Lol. It makes me wonder if I didn't read an arc if the scene would have been different.

Plus I did not like the leader of the Coven. Noa was more smarter, far braver and held greater attributes than the leader itself.

Immediate reactions:

What. Mother fucking WHAT.

More quotes. Caution for possible spoilers

Gabriel felt a change spark inside him, something akin to hope . They had all been alone for so long. The Fallen had banded together, an unbreakable unit of brotherhood, survivors of a life no one outside of them could ever believe. Their enemy was both hidden from the world yet thriving in plain sight . And these women … they were the same. After all these years , the Fallen had found people just like them . Different circumstances, different experiences, but they had survived same brutal and savage storm the Fallen had walked through.

And the monster soured. Year by year, unable to fight, to protect Diel like it was designed to do, it soured and rotted until it became a wraith, an enraged black shadow of death—it offered no forgiveness or second chances. It killed without explanation, relishing in any blood it got to spill and any piece of flesh it got to tear. It was feral and untamed. And, in time, it became part of Diel. Inextricably fused to everything Diel was. They were dualistic. Twin souls trapped in one ruined body.

His lip lifted in a snarl, but the monster quickly smothered Diel’s flicker of power and pushed him back, just like it had done for so many years in Purgatory. But this wasn’t to protect him from pain —this was so the monster could have Noa all to itself. Diel was the enemy to it now, not some evil-minded priest. It wanted to possess her. It wanted to own her. It coveted her more than it had anything before.

To kill was his protection. To seek revenge was the only way he could get out of bed each morning and live something that resembled a life.

Tillie Cole is one of my favorite (Dark) Romance authors. She comes up with the most original and twisted stories, that end up becoming so beautiful. In this book we are focusing on Jegudiel (Diel), who can't control the monster inside of him so he has an electric metal collar around his neck to keep him in check basically. All he wants to do is destroy the people who hurt him and his family. The heroine of this book is Noa, second in command of the Coven, a group of women who are intent on bringing the Brethren down. The Fallen and the Coven have the same goal and when these two group collide sparks fly. Noa and Diel are a lot alike, and this creates a strong and unique bond between them. Noa was such a strong and protective character and I loved how fearless she was, especially when she went head to head with Diel.

This was a very dark and heartbreaking book to read. All of the characters have gone through so much in their lives, and have their own daily struggles. I love the diversity of the personalities and seeing them work together. Diel and Noa were a great match and I really loved how supportive they were of each other. There are a lot of twists and turns in this book and it makes me excited to see what will happen next. The new set of characters are a great addition to the series, and I can't wait to get to know them better. This book was a wild ride and I loved every second. It was steamy, funny, emotional, and full of action. The villains of this series are just straight up evil and I can't wait to see them destroyed. I recommend this series to anyone who loves dark romance.

This is the second book in the deadly virtues series and you can always rely on this author so deliver some delicious darkness and this one has that in abundance
So here we have some new players added to the mix the coven is a group of kick-ass woman who has also escaped the clutches of the Brethren.
Since their liberation, they have been lying low but chipping away at their enemies. Stealing back the children caught by these monsters and spiriting them safely away.

When their mission collided with the fallen’s Diel finds himself knocked out and awakens in a cage.
Noa is a pink-haired witch second in command in the coven she instantly senses something in the collared man. Like calls to like and she knows exactly what it feels like to deal with a duel personality, she’s been trying to bury that particular dark side of herself for a couple of years.

Diel is conflicted he wants Noa gone but his inner monster disagrees and when Noa forces both sides of himself to reconnect for the first time in years he feels truly alive. But there stuff that’s he’s been repressing for years a past long forgotten one Noa is determined to help him remember.
This was such an engrossing dark read I adored Noa and Diel as a couple. it definitely progressed the story further and with the Coven and Fallen now a unit and ready to go to war against the brethren it should definitely get interesting.

This was well written and imaginative but it does contain triggers. It also dropped breadcrumbs for future stories and I really hope it’s not too long a wait till the next book in this series is released this series is a definite favourite of mine.

Jegudiel is the second thrilling installment in the dark romance series Deadly Virtues by Tillie Cole. Told in dual perspectives, this is Diel and Noa's story.

While on a Brethren hunting mission, the Fallen stumble across a group of women known as the Coven. They are all branded the same, having suffered years of unspeakable and horrific torture at the hands of these evil priests. With the same goal in mind, they team up to take down each and every Brethren at any and all costs.

The Fallen: Those branded by the Brethren as evil, sinners and born of the devil. The Brethren spent years trying to drive the wickedness from their blackened souls.

The Coven: Those deemed heretics, evil witches and the devil's whores. They track down the Brethren and free the children from the same fate that they had suffered.

Diel is the younger brother of Father Auguste, the Witch Finder General for the Brethren. He is like a ticking time bomb with his inner monster constantly trying to take control and kill everything in sight. Because of this, he must wear an electric collar to help keep him in check.

Noa is second in command of the Coven. She is strong, protective and fearless. But she is different than the others in her group. She has a darkness inside of her that she's worked hard to suppress. That is until she meets Diel. His darkness calls out to hers. She really is his match in every single way.

Having said all that, this book is unique, all kinds of twisted and an utterly brilliant read. It completely took me captive on a ride that I never wanted to end. It was raw, dark, gritty and suspenseful. If you like fast-paced, thrilling, heart-pounding reads, then dive into Jegudiel! All of the stars and more for Diel, Noa and this deliciously wicked tale!

5+ STARS

There are not enough words to write how much I loved this book. FAIR WARNING, IT IS DARK, WITH TRIGGERS UPON TRIGGERS, so if that is not something you enjoy then Jegudiel is not for you. However, if you love dark romances, this is one of the best dark romances out there.

I had high hopes for Diel's story, and Tillie Cole delivered in every capacity. His character was so well developed and beautifully dark. The mental anguish he endures, the splitting of his soul to endure the pain he has be forced to take, hurt me as a reader, but seeing him heal, break through his pain, and embrace who he is as a person and a monster was beautiful. My heart ached for he little boy and the damaged man, but reveled in seeing him take back his life, his choices, and channel his monster was thrilling beyond words.

And although I loved Diel, I was consumed by Noa. I completely understood why Diel was drawn to her as a character. She encompasses everything good in the world that is torn down by those who don't understand her way of life or who demand strict adherence to one way of thought or practice. She was such a pure, yet morally grey, character, and I loved her for how she loved Diel and cherished not only him but her sisters. What I didn't expect is her own healing along the way. It added such a layer of depth to her and her own story, separate from Diel.

The Fallen brothers, as before, were fantastic. We got to see more of them as individuals and as a group, and while they are still these depraved men, they are family with real genuine love between them. The new cast of characters added such phenomenal energy to the original cast of characters. I ended up loving them just as much as The Fallen.

This story is one for the books. From the romance between Diel and Noa to the fight with the Brethren to the plot revelations, my mouth was gaping open in shock time and again. This book literally had it all - the romance, the depraved characters, the revenge, and the suspense that kept me hooked from page one. I openly yelled at my kindle, screamed NOOOOOO at it, and even sighed at the love I got to watch blossom between Diel and Noa. This will without a doubt be not only one of my top dark romances of year but also one of my TOP READS of 2021.

What I really loved most though is the running idea that people shouldn't be persecuted for practicing a certain religion or being who they are, especially if it doesn't harm anyone else in the process. This idea of persecuting others in the name of religion is one that has gone on for centuries and continues to this day in many forms. And while this particular story chooses to tell it in a dark and depraved way, the themes are very much still relevant and timely. The themes also lead readers to question if the morality of people and the idea of are "bad" people born or created. As one who ascribes to the idea that good and bad live in all of us, and we as people choose to embrace it or suppress it, these characters ask us to take a good hard look at ourselves and our society.

I need more. Like. NOW. My mind is racing knowing where this story is going next, what couples are going to come together, and waiting on pins and needles to see The Fallen and our new group of characters take on and defeat the Brethren.

***note - this is a very dark book and has serious triggers

Yesterday I was so full of hate for this book and I'm sure I would write a long ass review full of bad names for Noa the bitch the witch.

But how can I describe this book? Extremely cringe, with a cheesy writing, weak plot and poor developed main characters. I swear I never laughed so much reading a dark romance.

Since Raphael's book Jegudiel is a character that intrigue readers. "How this fucked-up psycho can love?" we kept thinking and the answer as simple, TOO FUCKING SIMPLE. It was too instalove and lust, too cheesy, too "hello, pretty monster" here and there and too many "baby" and "babes" for a psychopath who couldn't even stand human connection.

Oh and the monster... the monster we so much feared and was out of Diel's control? The true love solved that! How cute awnnn. I hate it, I hate this plot, I hate the solution for the problem and I hate Tillie Cole to continues to write this same shit of a plot like Sick Fux. The character has two personalities and the solution was to scream "FIGHT IT DIEL, YOU CAN BE YOURSELF" and just by this the amazing psychologist Noa helped to solve a 14 years old mental war, simple right?

Fuck Noa, fuck their horrible development. I hated this heroine so much that I started to like Maria, and I DESPISED that boring nun as well. Was this book more interesting than the first one? Of course, but Noa is the worst ever so here we are.

Anyway, the only good scenes was Michael and Gabriel's ones and I hope michaelbeth's book will bring me the quality content Tillie never writes, but who knows.

"Michael drank from Beth’s neck, and Beth had wrapped her hands into the longer strands of Michael’s hair, keeping him close. Her lips were parted with relief, and her eyes were closed as Michael freed her from her torment. She moaned in pleasure, back arching toward Michael’s chest. Just to get closer, to have him drink from her deeper."

"Nobody moved a muscle as Michael’s fetish for blood healed Beth."

I'm here for the pseudo-vampire and the pseudo-vampire only (and his proud priest brother too, of course).

‘They had all been alone for so long. The Fallen had banded together, an unbreakable unit of brotherhood, survivors of a life no one outside of them could ever believe. Their enemy was both hidden from the world yet thriving in plain sight. And these women…they were the same.’

We have been eagerly waiting for the next installment in the Deadly Virtues series by Tillie Cole. Our Dark Queen is back with our next Fallen book; Jegudiel where once again she showed us just how far she’s willing to go to take us outside our comfort zone, down a long dark path of terror, violent retribution, and sickening pasts. But as always, it’s also a path of healing, self-reflection, brotherhood, and redemptive love. We’re yet to read a book by Tillie Cole which we haven’t fallen in book love with, and once again she nailed it, giving us an addictive story, a compelling character connection, leaving us in utter desperation yet feeling hopeful too. This journey is far from over, rather it feels like it’s only truly beginning and we’re here for it, every step of the way.

“What we went through, what those men did to us…There’s no judgment for who we are, how we turned out. They condemned us. They punished us for who we are.”

We talk about our love of anti-heroes a lot, how they always have a hidden vulnerability and through the love of a good heroine find a type of redemption. Now we believe that there’s a fine line between losing that essence of what makes a character an anti-hero and achieving some type of character redemption. We love to see an anti-hero who retains who he is, accepts it, yet when it truly matters, shows that hidden vulnerability and heart. Tillie Cole excels in this, and we love her for that. Her dark romance heroes never lose what makes them uniquely them, they just let their broken hearts show amid their darkness. In fact, the heroines’ in this series celebrates them, supports them, and accepts them. Their unique love adding a softness and light to the darkness.

“I’d follow you straight into hell.”
“You did.”

How fitting that in Jegudiel, the heroine Noa, matches the hero in every way and if anything encourages and strengthens the path he is on. She saw beneath the skin of the violent scarred collared man; she saw the warring with his beast inside and she knew exactly who he truly was. We loved Noa for her strength, her loyalty, her protection, and her innate ability to see Diel for who he is and what he’s repressed from his traumatic past.

“His blood is your blood. His breath is your breath. His thoughts are yours. His needs, his lack of fear, his incredible strength, his fucking roars, they are all you…Embrace him. Protect him. Fucking love him!… You curb the darkness. You wait until you need it. It’s both your shield and your sword. The greatest weapon you will ever possess.”

We felt like suiting up and joining the Fallen on their mission to rid the world of the evil bestowed upon them as children, by The Brethren. The suffering, the atrocities, and the horrific violence are abhorrent and with the revelations in Jegudiel, this series just became so much more and we’re both excited yet apprehensive of what’s to come in this fast-evolving storyline. Tillie Cole really does write dark romance like no other, it is not written just for shock factor, the entire storyline is mapped out like an intricate journey, keeping its momentum, never wavering nor losing its focus or cause. The characters remain true to who they are, whilst adapting to a world where the terror lives in their heads like a continuous playing film reel. Retribution the only focus. We are loving this series!

⭐️⭐️ because rage deserves decimals.

“He’s dark. She’s darker. They’re both drowning in trauma. Also, surprise! Witches.”

I came for the angst. I stayed for the Fallen. I left emotionally dehydrated and bitter with a side of “Why am I even here?”

❤️ What Kept Me From Rage Quitting

⚔️ The Fallen. Literal emotional support demons. Gabriel protection squad, assemble. These boys bleed, die, and sob for each other and honestly? That’s the only healthy relationship in this book.

⚔️ Michael & Beth. If this book were a bad wedding, Michael & Beth were the only guests who didn’t embarrass the family. They are the sole reason I’m continuing the series. That’s it. That’s the tweet.

💀 Now Let’s Talk About the Cauldron of Disappointment:

⚠️ The Writing:
Did the word “darkness” have a sponsorship deal?
Why were we being told the same thing 97 times like I didn’t read the first book? He’s a monster. She’s a monster. We get it. Stop yelling. This is like watching a telenovela on loop with no new plot twist.

⚠️ The Coven™:
Look, I love women. I am a woman. But you can’t just throw in a group of traumatized witches, slap the word “sisterhood” on it, and expect me to care without context. I felt nothing. Nada. Not even a twitch.

⚠️ Noa, the Main… Witch (let’s be kind):
She’s supposed to be psychopathic and full of darkness. What I got was ego, sass, and girlboss energy with a sprinkle of “I’m not like other girls.” Ma’am, being rude and smug is not darkness. That’s just… Tuesday.

⚠️ The “Romance” (™ Pending):
Was this… instant love or supernatural mind control?
Between the coven’s TED Talk trauma loops and the endless repetition of the MC’s inner darkness, there was no actual time to feel the romance. It was like emotional microwave popcorn—hot in 2 minutes but ultimately hollow.

Final Thoughts:

I wanted to love this. I wanted pain and redemption and maybe even a lil’ hot dark fantasy.
What I got was a chaotic trauma echo chamber, a romance that felt like it was speedrun, and a main witch whose darkness was basically just… attitude.

Yes, I will keep reading. But only for Michael and the Fallen.
Not for Noa. Not for her Girlboss Spellcasting Squad™.

And if I could magically erase the witches and rewrite this book with actual tension and less monologuing? I would.

To each their own… but this one made me want to cast a silence spell.

A sucker punch to your gut is the best way to describe the story. it will shake you to the core and leave you with disbelieving eyes and darkened soul.
It seems Ms. Cole has contrasting writer personalities in her diminutive body. She can easily tear your heart out with poignant prose as much as fuel your dark desires with words so macabre and heinous, you're saddened and nauseated most of the time.
Tillie creates a dark underworld which exists in the clear day, right under the jurisdiction of sanctimonious & pious robes. the sheer savagery of human evil makes you shudder. The barbarity seems endlessly unstoppable, until an army of saviours emerges from their hideabouts and takes them on.

description

It's a story about a war between good & evil and rules don't apply to any side.
A bleak and violent world where no hope exists of salvation or redemption, except a faint light of love which dispels the darkness like a candle in a dark cave.
A collared boy with a tightly leashed monster eating him alive is at the center if it all.

description

"The monster took and took, gaining strength with each kill, until it was a frenzied beast who only rested when its bloodlust had been sated or Gabriel turned the collar back on and forced it to retreat."
JEGUDIEL is a Fallen brother. His rage is like a lava flowing in his veins, his collar his chain that limits his freedom.
His dark heart finds a perfect fit in COVEN sister, Noa. A thief and a Wiccan witch descendant, she's in denial of her heritage and bloodline.

description

“We are the Coven. A sinful band of heretics. Witches, occultists, pagans and, best of all, the devil’s favorite whores.”
All The Fallen Brothers and Coven sisters are victims, nee survivors of the Brethren
“Raped, tortured and tried by the Brethren Witch Finders for most of our childhoods.”

description

The brilliance of the story is not just in the powerful plot but the unexpected live bond that strengthens as the story progresses. I was prepared for complete annihilation of Noa after her daring escapade in The Folly, but Tillie takes the grotesque acts of atrocities performed over helpless children into one of the bizarrely strongest love story I've ever read.
"Boiled blood turned to poisoned vapor. Black tendrils broke from his flesh like an obsidian tapestry, forming claws and fangs and death, engulfing him in an armor of rage."
The side plot of Gabriel at war with himself over the solution of "An eye for an eye" to bring down the Brethren, his shifting perspective of his calling just moved me to tears.
Cole has managed to manipulate the reader mind so skillfully that by the end I was Clutching my heart lest it jump out of my chest cause it was pounding so hard. My breath held silent at the scenes unfolding before me, I am shook, stunned speechless, somewhat distraught but wholly sated like a soldier after a long and deadly battle.
I need to recuperate and heal to prepare for the oncoming battles that are on the horizon, cause The War ain't over yet!!

RATING: 4.5 'Pretty Monster & Pink-Haired Witch' HEARTS!

Jegudiel is an addicting and sexy addition to the Deadly Virtues series, Tillie Cole once again bluntly illuminating a dark and sadistic world where morally ambiguous characters take cease of our hearts and emotions as they fight those that have wronged them. Diel and Noa are each other’s half in every sense—warrior meeting warrior, survivor recognizing survivor, and their vices and virtues tangling—a couple that are fearless and steadfast in their mission to eliminate the Brethren, but also stunningly vulnerable as they contend with their heartbreaking pasts. While the romance is quick to develop, it is no less riveting, unrelenting need and searing passion amalgamating in a potent combination.

“You are charity…You give and give just to save the ones you love. And those you don’t even know. … You saved me. … You gave me back me.”

Overall, Jegudiel is a masterful dark romance, not only making us fall in love with the Fallen all over again, but also the Coven, Noa’s “sisters”, and leaving us craving for the next Fallen and Coven coupling.

I am a big Tillie Cole fan. I loved the Sick Fux and I have enjoyed the world she builds. Having said that, this book was a let down in comparison to Raphael. What saddens me more is that it wasn’t as if the quality of writing had deteriorated. The problems with this book were more structural than anything else. I hope that Tillie will resolve them for the rest of the series because, if I’m being honest, this series has the potential of being much bigger and better than any of her previous novels.
1. One of the biggest benefits Raphael, the novel, had was the fact that there was no need for world building. The prequel established the world and themes for the first novel, and the series as a whole, moving forward. As a reader, I knew what I was getting into. The pain and trauma faced by the protagonists and his brothers were understood and starkly presented beforehand.
Ironically, this factor was also Jegudiel’s downfall. It would have been much more satisfying to have had a prequel about the coven before this book’s release. As a reader, I wasn’t as invested in the coven, or Nao’s life, as the book expected me to be. If anything, I find her motivations utterly… bland. The reason behind it is that I only knew them in relation to the Fallen and the Brethren. Their individual growth, pain or relationship dynamic weren’t my investment points. This ties in to my second issue with the novel.
2. This novel isn’t plot driven. 80% of what happens in the book is entirely inner monologue with no physical actions to parallel with. One might argue that almost the entire first half of the novel is purely psychological. While it is fascinating to delve in any character’s mind, a reader needs actions to go hand in hand. On the top of it, we already know what’s going to happen- these two characters will fall in love and have their HEA- this considerably lowers the “what happens next,” factor that keeps the reader hooked.
3. A lot of elements don’t quite make sense in the novel. While the coven keeps saying that they aren’t entirely placing their trust on the Fallen, they practically tell them everything- where they live, how they operate, and other details. They even move in the same property the first time they meet them and talk about moving in the orphans. It is very jarring for a reader to see them talk about their trauma, say that they will be on their toes, and simultaneously, be so trusting and accommodating. Now the reader is supposed to suddenly care of all these women the same way they care for the guys. This is a massive disservice to these new characters. Some of them are very intriguing but they aren’t being explored outside of their introduction to the fallen. As opposed to only struggling with Jegudiel’s character growth, I have 7 new people I have to grow fond of, and invest in, alongside the main character.
4. The exposition through dialogue. Kill me. After 50% mark, I had to sift through the dialogue pages to get to the point where the plot moved. Furthermore, skipping those pages didn’t in any way lessen my understanding of the plot. These characters, all of them, just speak what’s on their mind. They have just met! People don’t just say everything they think/feel- not even to people they’ve spend their entire lives with.
What I loved about the novel was inclusivity- Be it on racial lines or sexuality. I hope that Tillie explores these characters individually a bit more properly in subsequent novels.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.

Tillie Cole is the literal queen of Jegudiel and omg , I can’t even tell you guys how amazing it is. Everything about these characters consumed me. Not only the protagonists but the side characters have wrecked me too. I just need their stories so badly.

Tillie Cole always manages to make me shiver with her words. The emotion , god , it’s like nothing I have ever read before. Like I said above, her books are hauntingly dark and there are a lot of triggers. One of the best things that I like about her books is that she doesn’t sugarcoat the dark stuff. She gives it to us and it’s not like that dark stuff will make you uncomfortable. At Least that’s not the case with me . Her words always make me feel the pain of the characters and all their emotions. Which is why she is my top author of all time.

If you are a fan of dark romance books then please for the love of god , give this author a try. Start this series and there is no way you won’t be hooked completely. That’s her magic. But please make sure to look at the triggers since she does have a lot of those , specially in this series. Highly Recommended. This author destroyed me and I want you all to be destroyed with me lmao.

I just can't!! This.book.was.EVERYTHING...

This book was one of my most anticipated book of June...and it was so so much more than I could ever expected. I love how Author Cole's mind works in handing us such dark petrified books yet we keep on digging for more and more.

Diel was the character I was the most intrigued after Gabriel...there I something very bewitching about this broken man and his character's uncontrollable rage...I needed to know how such a broken and traumatized man can have his own HEA...and Author Cole gave us exactly that with perfection.

Noa was like the perfect character Author Cole would have written for Diel...she matches his darkness with her own, she knew the man and his monster inside out with just one glance.
On plus side...there are so many mentions of possible couples forfeiture books and all those pairing are done with precision...I am so happy for my Fallen Men...they deserved every little happiness they can...

I couldn't stop reading this book...inspite of having my uni assignments, I carried on because this book was so enchanting you can't help but get engrossed in the story till the end...even at the end...your thought process keeps on working...trying to cone up with more theory but it doesn't matter...my mind can't work on Tillie's Brilliance.

THIS BOOK IS NOT FOR THE FAINT OF HEART...there are many triggers and the book plays on the dark edge...but so so so worth it.
I recommend this book with my whole heart...I can't wait for more people to read this and get hangover with the ending...

*4.5 Stars!*

❧ To say that Jegudiel was one of my most anticipated releases for this year would be an understatement because I was bitchin' and complaining for months that Tillie Cole was taking her sweet ass time writing this book and I was losing patience.

description

❧ Well y'all, the wait was worth it because Jegudiel is now my new favorite Tillie Cole book and also one of my favorite reads of 2021!

❧ My favorite thing about this book has to be the addition of the Coven. I think adding this group of badass ladies to the series completely elevated the story line and took it to new heights.

❧ My second favorite thing is the bond between the Fallen and the Coven. For a group of people who have been through literal hell, the fact that they have been able to open themselves up to others to where their bonds are almost a familial one just makes me cry. All I want is for my children to be happy and free!

❧ I really did not think I would be this much invested in Diel's romance. Like no lie, mans was scary af before, but he finally found someone to tame his inner monster and turns out he's a total romantic!

❧ Noa is so reckless and I both love and hate her for it; love cause if she hadn't taken a chance on Diel then he might not have been able to become his true self and hate because she always has me stressed the fuck out that she is going to die when she doesn't stick to the original game plan!

❧ I love how we are getting little glimpses into each character's backstory, just enough to give us an idea of what happened to them and how they were captured by the Brethren but still leaving us wondering why.

description

❧ Auguste needs to die a slow and painful death. PERIOD.

❧ Now that we know that there may be other groups like the Fallen and the Coven out there, I'm dying to know how far this goes back to. I want to know what or whom started the Brethren, I want to know why, I want to know every single bastard that is involved in this corruption and I want to see their demise!

❧ I cannot wait for the next book in this series. I don't even know which of the Fallen men's book will be next but what I do know is that my ass is ready to see the Brethren get they asses whooped again!

❧ Me waiting another two years for the next installment in the Deadly Virtues series:
