This is an interesting universe. I feel like the templars pretty much are the Jedi with non of the obsoletes of the Jedi vs sith. Each Templar is a little bit different but operates with similar principles. I really like Orin, he’s like an honorable Sith Lord avenging his mother and forming a tribe of vigilantes. The mech panther is awesome! Like my favorite thing. Kinda like Deadpool lol. The swarm is pretty sweet too.
Story was decent. Battles were convoluted, confusing and hard to follow/visualize. New characters and squads would be introduced randomly for a paragraph, never to be heard from again. And I’m pretty sure ‘swam’, ‘swamers’, ‘swamtech’ were used in equal amounts as the correct ‘swarm’ versions, especially in the beginning. I do enjoy the main characters so I will be trying to get through the 3rd book.
Packing action, aliens, cyborgs, AI and other beings it is a good SF book, also it is more clear in discourse for me to follow. It is visual and I think anime’s series will look cool with this plot. Maybe I didn’t understand the Crucible but still feel the Star Wars vibes. I enjoyed the banter and the writing style improved so 4*. Look forward for the next book.
Book two in Mr. Robillard’s Hunter’s Moon series delivers! Plenty of action yet also more character development and the plot keeps moving along. If you like action, blasters and space magic you have scored my friends. Great read; grabbing more popcorn and on to book three!
This book was incredible! From a gripping plot, to fast-paced action, to riveting characters, Mr. Robillard once again shows that he is for the challenge of writing great sci-fi. This is Galaxy's Edge - level goodness!
