Something boils inside of me, making me lose control.

All throughout my childhood, I was complacent vying for my father’s approval. Of course, that never happened and I finally relinquished the fantasy when he attempted to kill my fated mate.

Making matters worse, I learn that my life was a lie.

The man who claims to be my father hunts me. After all, he has all the power and control. But I’m going to find myself and bring him to his knees.... Or die trying.

If you can't get enough of books by K.F. Breene, Kelly St. Claire, Annette Marie, Shannon Mayer, Leia Stone, Jaymin Eve, and Laura Thalassa, then you'll love this urban fantasy romance.

Reading has always been one of my favorite hobbies, even as a little girl. When I was a toddler, my parents would read stories to me over and over. I would hear them so often that I had the books memorized and could recite the story word by word.

My favorite genres are fantasy, paranormal, and contemporary romance. So of course that's what I'm inclined to write.

I have a husband, two young daughters, and a mini Australian Shepherd. I've lived in Tennessee the majority of my life and love the state.

I'm extremely addicted to caffeine and enjoy drinking coffee and lattes.

I loved this book to pieces.

I read it all in one sitting, although it took concentration and focus.

All points aside, I didn’t want to read the conclusion to the series. So I kind of put it aside. I didn’t want to say goodbye to Sadie or any if the characters we got to love and know.

But all good things must come to an end, or at least that’s what I been told.

Sadie grows so much as a character here. She finds her father. She learns to control her powers like making energy blasts, force fields, and how to teleport.

No matter what though, the end goal is still the same: kill Tyler, the supreme alpha. Her fake father. And in doing so, everyone will be free of terror.

Uncovering truth and releasing new destinies, Sadie sets out to find a better life for herself and the ones she loves.

The world building is on point. The characters are all interesting and have their own depth. I loved the supernatural lore and learning about each species like the Fae.

I will really miss Sadie and Donovan. I loved this series a lot!

I found the Wolf Born Trilogy through Kindle Unlimited. The premise sounded like other paranormal romance books that I’ve read before and enjoyed. A wolf-shifter girl who meets her mate, but he’s human. It kind of swerved quickly off that path, however. I’m judging the trilogy as a whole because I think they have similar pros/cons.
Pros:
• Quick, easy read
• Enjoyable side characters- The group of friends that develop is a fun little bunch that joins together probably a little too quickly, but it’s the best part of the book in my opinion.
Cons:
• Main character- I can’t even remember the girls name because it was said so rarely, but honestly, I just didn’t care. I thought of her as pink haired girl because that was mentioned more than her name. Also, her personality shift from meek girl to alpha of a pack made little to no sense at all.
• Escalation- The jump in the story from book one throughout the rest of the trilogy also was a bit confusing. I liked the college mate aspects, but the insta love then the war against her father just wasn’t interesting.
• Romance- As in there was zero romance involved here. They hated each other but were attracted to each other. Then all of a sudden, they were in love, the end.

I don’t know that I can totally bash these books because I did finish all three books, however I’m giving the trilogy 2.5/5 stars because the writing wasn’t great and the romance, which is what drew me to this story, was the worst part about it.

Great ending to the story!

I couldn't have dreamed a more fitting ending! The war between Tyler's pack verses Sadie's pack, the vampires, Egan, Titan's pack and the fae finally happens. All I have to say is thank goodness Sadie is half fae. If the fae hadn't gotten involved they would never have beaten Tyler. I am glad Sadie gets confidence enough to fight Tyler. And you'll find out how sick and twisted Tyler was at the end. The man was insane. All I can say is if Sadie hadn't found that hidden room, she may not have had the rage to fight Tyler. I am happy Axel and Donovan got to see the pack they came from.

‘Awakened Magic’ is book three and the conclusion in Jen L. Grey’s Wolf Born Trilogy. Books one and two ‘Hidden Mate’ and ‘Blood Secrets’ must be read prior to this.

Being captured by your fake father and forced to have the mate bond, was not what Sadie had thought would be how her trip to seal her Fae Magic was going to end. Donovan is Sadie’s True Mate but if Brock claims her she will never be able to be with him.

What an emotional, nail biting, edge of your seat, heart racing conclusion. This series has taken me on one hell of a roller coaster. I swear when I finished this book I was drained emotionally and physically. I laughed, I cried, I swore, I cursed, I cheered and I sighed. Thank you, thank you, thank you Jen for bringing this world and characters to life for me. I felt like I was part of the pack and I couldn’t have imagined a better outcome for these guys. It’s been an adventure.

I have no idea where to start or what to say about this book, so much and I mean SO much happens that it really hard to pick just one thing. But I can promise you this everything that you have been questioning or worrying about will be answered and cleared up in this book. Many revelations are revealed, more secrets and lies cleared up, new and old relationships formed and broken. But one thing I will say is be prepared cause the first sentence is going to break your heart. I was not ok, not one bit.

Sadie’s character growth is phenomenal in this book, she really grows into herself and her Fae side. She is no longer the timid and quiet girl we first met in ‘Hidden Mate’ she is stronger and more assured of herself thanks to her friends/family/pack, Donovan, Roxy, Axle, Egan, Katherine, Lillith, the Vamps and Titan’s wolves. New and old characters make appearances that help with the stories flow, that also bring new surprises.

Although I knew this was only going to be a trilogy and I new this was going to be the final book for Sadie and Donovan’s story, I’m a little sad to say goodbye. I have loved watching the relationship and bond between these two grow from nothing to what it is. These two hold a special place in my heart. I do hope to see them in Egan’s trilogy. Though I have to say bye to these wolves I am looking forward to reading the gentle Giant Dragons story.

Awakened Magic is the third and final book in the Wolf Born trilogy. Sadie's story wraps up nicely with action, plot twists, and a happily ever after.

Sadie had grown a lot over the series, she's realized the assumptions she has grown up with were wrong, she started to think for herself, her confidence grew and she fought for herself and others. Sadie being the soft heart she is still had the very slightest hope that Tyler (the man who she thought was her father) had some kind of affection for her. I was so sad when she finally realizes what a monster he was. However beat down she was, either from Tyler and his bs or from the fae and their hatred of "half-breeds", she didn't stop fighting. Sadie grew into a strong person and took her role as alpha seriously.

I'm so glad that she and Donovan got over their couple issues. Once Donovan was there he was one-hundred percent committed to Sadie. Donovan wasn't the only one there for her somehow Sadie found herself surrounded by loyal people, who are caring, protective, and kind. Roxy, Axel, and Egan (I love the dragon shifter) are at the core of her group but the vampires, Sadie's mom, Winter, and her mate, Titan are there for her as well. They have formed a tight little rebellious group to stop Tyler's reign of terror. Roxy and Lillith are the comedians, Donovan and Axel are the newbies, Egan and Sadie are the brains, and Katherine is just Katherine. It's a really good group.

The mystery behind Naida is revealed, and I was right about my theory. I love the connection Sadie got with Naida especially since Sadie is just discovering her heritage. Speaking of heritage Sadie's relationship with her mom and Titan is getting better which warmed my heart considering the only semblance of a parent was Tyler.

Awakened Magic was non-stop action, with Sadie and the group determined to stop Tyler from harming the supernatural community, mini battles everywhere, leading up to the main event. So much was going on with break-ins, fires, more fae attacks, a big reveal, and one heck of a plot twist that just made my heartache. Awakened Magic was Sadie's happily ever after but things are far from over my favorite dragon shifter is getting his own series.

⭐⭐⭐⭐.5/5

“Let’s be clear. You will never own me. I’m not a piece of property you can claim and mold into what you want. I’m my own person and can stand on my own two feet.”

WARNING!!! This is book 3 in The Wolf Born Trilogy, you will need to have read book 1(Hidden Mate) and book 2(Blood Secrets) in order to understand this one.
For most of Sadie’s life she had been complacent when it came to her father’s wishes, but that all changed when he threatened the life of her fated mate. Now she feels something boiling inside her, making her lose control. After learning her whole life was a lie, Sadie must learn to control her new fae powers in order to protect her pack and friends. The man that claimed to be her father for years hurt her, after all, he holds all the power. But Sadie will do anything to bring him to his knees, or die trying.

“It was time for me to grow up and take my demons by their balls. I only hoped they wouldn’t eat me alive first.”

What a fantastic end to a series! This may very well be one of my new favorite series from Jen. The character growth that happened in this book was amazing, and I also loved some of the new characters that were introduced in this book. Sadie and Donovan’s relationship really went through the wringer, but despite all of the obstacles, they pulled through. The group's introduction to the fae was a little rocky in the previous books, but I really feel like they redeemed themselves in this book. Sadie became such a bad**s in this book! She started to gain control over her powers and she really became a very powerful leader. I was so excited to read this book after the monumental cliffhanger at the end of the last book, and it did not disappoint. As alway this was an amazing series from Jen, and I look forward to reading more from her in the future!!

“I will always want and need you. Nothing will ever change that.”

I received this as a free ARC copy from the author in exchange for an honest review.

Immediately, we discover that Sadie has been allowed, by her father, to attend Kortright University, a school that has its fair share of supernaturals in attendance, and her one stipulation is that she has to bring her intended - Brock - with her to watch out for her. Hers is that she gets to bring her best friend Roxy. It won't be easy to fight off Brock, but he's not her fated mate, though he is the one her father has required she marry to form an alliance between the families. Though she can be mouthy at times, something her father doesn't appreciate, she is also a bit more timid than I like my heroines to be. Still, it's a great place to start because it gives her so much room to grow that she can't help but blossom throughout the story.

Yet, when Donovan enters the picture, all bets are off. Sure, he's attractive, and she can't help but be drawn to him. But he's also forbidden because he's human, and interspecies mating is against the rules. As he begins popping up at the most inopportune times, including in her classes, she discovers he is attracted to her too. While she makes new friends (of the vampire and dragon variety), she begins noticing the strange way Brock is acting and how hate-filled he is. Donovan doesn't seem to have that problem, which makes for some interesting and humorous interaction.

Though they each fight the attraction, their bond continues to form and strengthen. When circumstances push them closer together, all hell breaks loose, and secrets none of them could have predicted come out, turning everyone's worlds upside down and putting them all in danger.

Sadie continues to become stronger the further the story continues, and with the help of her smart-mouthed friend Roxy, she also overcomes obstacles she never saw coming. It makes for a story that has many exciting moments and a cliffhanger that leaves readers hungry for the next book.

Awakened Magic
The Wolf Born Trilogy, Book 3
By: Jen L. Grey
Narrated by: Sarah Puckett

Jen L. Grey wraps up The Wolf Born Trilogy in the best of ways, with a fast paced, action packed story that is captivating from start to end. l have been rooting for Sadie since the beginning and hated where she wound up at the end of the second book, but no worries she finds her way out of that situation is rescued by Donovan, Roxy and the rest of the fabulous paranormal beings who have her back. It is time for Sadie to end Tyler’s reign and evil plan to gain more power by taking over more packs. There are more surprises are in store for Sadie, Donovan and Axel and it turns out they get help from the most unlikely of sources. I loved how everything played out in this book, the author did a wonderful job plotting everything out, not just in this book but the entire series, wrapping up all the storylines excitedly and with the best of outcomes. Jen L. Grey, thank you for this amazing story, the thrilling and emotional rollercoaster ride.

🎧📚🎧 And for the wonderful narration, Jen L. Grey could not have cast a better narrator to bring her story and characters to life. Sara Puckett’s versatility truly shines with her exceptional character voices, she does an amazing job portraying the characters, covering both the male and female roles, ensures that each a voice is a perfect fit for that character’s persona. She sets the perfect tone for the story, captures all the character’s emotions which are projected into her performance. This mega talented voice artist is an entertaining storyteller and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for another awesome listen!

In the final book to this series, after Sadie escapes from Brock and Tyler's clutches, she returns to the hideout and with her loyal group (Donovan, Roxy, Axel, Egan, the vampires, Winter, and Titan) where they contrive a plan to weaken Tyler's hold on the other packs. Of course, this means returning to Sadie's childhood home. She is still not in control of her fae powers, but training from Naida, fae royalty, provides Sadie with confidence. Though the group is successful in eradicating blueprints, Tyler plays the game well and uses Roxy's parents to lure Sadie. She's the endgame.

The only way to stop Tyler's tyranny is to destroy him, and that's not as easy a task.

Cue in stealth, fighting, yelling, biting, and fae blasts. Then, add another character, believed dead, whose Lavender eyes immediately give away his identity, and there's a family reunion.

I held on too long and should have relinquished this much sooner, but the reader in me endured until the end. The whole bond completion between Sadie and Donovan annoyed me. His puppy dog pursuit and insecurities about Brock's connection to Sadie do not suppress his libido. Nor do he and Axel have a developed background. It seems easier to make Donovan and Axel the orphans. And for a wolf that does not know what it means to truly exist in this lifestyle, he is gunning for the role of alpha. I skipped intimate scenes between them. I had enough soap opera.

Then, the witch, the red hair, and the chains; Winter, the passive mom who does not know much about her daughter's biological father except that they had a connection and after many years, all she can do is point and call his name? Yep, what a connection--carnal--they had.

Book three tries to tie up the loose ends, but there are only more knots. Then comes the happily "pack" after with promises of family reuniting soon.

OMG. I thought the naysayers exaggerated Sadie's tendency to be wimpy. Nope.

I must give props to Ms. Grey for making Tyler the ultimate villain. He certainly was nearly unmatched at being vicious, sadistic, entirely heartless, and an absolute narcissist. He discovered, just before he was unexpectedly betrayed, that no one was entirely invincible or completely protected from vulnerability.

Nonetheless, Sadie was a real buzzkill. Point in fact: she nearly died because she refused to allow the alpha in her complete her killing throat grab of Tyler the first time subdued him. Yes, great alphas protect their pack, but have to exert ruthlessness for the greater good of their packs. Sadie is young, so maybe could be cut slack for that, right? No! Had it not been for key allies, she wouldn't have survived, and you just cannot feel sorry for or flinch at killing someone who never loved you, was trying to hurt and kill you, betrayed and disrespected everyone, and was so abusive and depraved he deserved to have his throat ripped out! Yep. Sadie was disappointing, but her friend Roxie was even more irritating and, I daresay, obnoxious and unlikable than Sadie, who was mostly a good person, but I'm not altogether sure about her since someone like Roxie was her best friend. Yeah, the battles and storyline were exciting for the most part, but Sadie always did something that depressed me. Two stars. It's worth reading, if you don't let Sadie (and Roxie) get on your nerves the way I did. Pet peeves - what can I do?

The ending we all wanted!

I loved every second of this book! It has a wonderful ending that might make you tear up a bit 😉 Even if you don’t cry, I think it’ll make you say “awwww…”. Here’s a quick re-cap and my two cents.

Quick re-cap:

Brock has Sadie prisoner and forces a mate bond on her. Luckily, Sadie escapes before the mating ceremony. Sadie regroups with her pack, the vampires, and her mom’s pack. Once there, they determine a path forward for how to take Tyler down. Unfortunately, the Fae are also still after them. Sadie must defeat Tyler and come to an agreement with the Fae if she’s to be free.

My two cents:

I loved everything in this book! I had a little bit of a hard time with the forced mate bond with Brock. I feel like Sadie’s Fae powers should have activated right then and there. I realize they couldn’t in order for the story to work out, but it frustrated me a bit.

I really loved how the ending all came together. I feel like there’s an opening for a spin off with the purple haired fae and I’m happy there’s a dragon mate series with Egan. I’ll definitely be reading that!

There’s definitely sex scenes in this book! Plus a mating scene! 😉 They’re all well done!

This is a short entertaining story! It’s not new or different from other sci-fi stories, but it’s enjoyable. The characters are fun and funny. I definitely recommend it if it sounds like something you would enjoy. Happy reading y’all!

So many moments that will hit you right in the feels. There are twists and jaw dropping surprises that made me want to break out in the happiest of tears for Sadie. Her pack join her to bring down the big bad wolf in this series conclusion that makes you want to stand up and cheer.

Sadie learns how to utilize her powers and relies upon her friends more and more. She's a strong, compassionate leader who's determined to change her fate. That girl had been through so much and enough was enough.

I loved how friendship and loyalty were captured here. Because that's why this series works. It's the coming together and trusting that cemented this group together. Sure, Sadie was next level, but her crew pulls her through and has her back. It's the perfect blend of dangerous and protective vibes.

Each of Jen L Grey's series are exciting and intriguing and keep you guessing. I love the foreshadowing she layers here and there and the hilarious musings of her characters. She gives these supernatural beings such human characteristics that you just can't help but fall for them.

Love it

This series was the first I've read of this author. And I will definitely be reading more if this series to go by.
From the first book you get sucked into this world the author created and you tap into the emotions of her characters. I love when an author does that. I loved the growth in Sadie's personality and how she didn't break even after everything she had to endure. I was on my toes throughout the whole book and might've bitten my nails to the skin. It seemed like our heroine can't catch a break there always a twist and fight waiting for her around the corner. Her life is always at stake and her and Donavan have to fight hard for their love.
I gotta say I never anticipated the last twist but it was a good one. I'm looking forward to reading Egan's book and seeing more of these characters but at the same time I might wait till all 3 books are released cause patience is not one of my virtues.
Read this book you won't be disappointed

Awakened Magic
By Jen L. Grey

This is the final book in this series and it was a great one. The book moved along at a good pace. The storyline was good. My only disappointment was the climax of Tyler, Mike, and Brock's payback. It seemed a little bit anticlimactic and considering how evil the three of them were and all Tyler's done they deserved really painful deaths. Not quick ones. 😉

Side Note: I saw there is an offshoot series and it's Egan's story, Dragon Mate (The Hidden King Book 1). I was thrilled and couldn't wait to read it until I realized it's not in Egan's POV. It's in some girl's POV we've never met before and from the reviews she isn't a well liked character. If I read Egan's story I want it to be from his own POV. Not someone else's.

Master of manipulation, deceit and murder, Tyler has plans and they include Sadie, he’s also so powerful it’s easier to roll over and go along with whatever he says. When Sadie’s separated from her friends, Brock and his minions capture and kidnap her so she can be forced into mating Brock per Tyler’s orders.

Donovan’s not willing to give her up so easily is in the forefront of helping her escape but of course things don’t go to plan and Sadie has to break her newly installed magic ban to get everyone on out. This doesn’t sit well with Tyler who ups his game to recapture Sadie and she’s just as determined to bring him down, especially after some fae are on her side.

Great ending to a fantastic series.
The conclusion has come and oh it is bittersweet. I was not ready to say goodbye to these characters, especially after what was discovered towards the end. I can’t help myself but be so proud of Sadie. She has overcome so much hardship and quickly grew to an amazing alpha wolf. I really enjoyed the twist with the Fae and I really hope there is a spin-off series with Eagan or of the Fae. The narrator did a wonderful job portraying all of the characters, and it was easy to get lost in this world that the author created. The narrator breathed life into the character and story and it was a great story to get lost into. I highly recommend this series.

Great Ending.

Loved all of the trilogy. SADIE AND Donovan were always meant to become mates from the beginning. Lots of heartaches and blossoming Love,Wolf style. Pack is family,
Bullying and torture kept many of the shifters in fear. Bringing it all together over three books was a great idea. Jen LGrey is a great storyteller and builds up the universe of these freaks and regulars with tension, love, joy, and fighting. Standing up for yourself is not cowardly. The young couples got their happy endings. The bully got his blood thirsty ending, as did all the perpetrators. It gave hints of the spin-offs, and I can't wait to read them.

What an ending! It had it all. The farther I got in this book, the faster I seemed to read. I couldn't wait to see how everything went down and I wasn't disappointed. I don't think it could have been anymore perfect, with such a sweet surprise at the end. I loved this trilogy and all of the characters within the pages of these books....yes even the ones you love to hate. Tyler was without a doubt one of the best "villains" that Grey has ever written, for me at least. I can't wait to see what this author dreams up next.

This book has it all, action, romance, emotions, and a ending that will blow your mind and keep you wanting more and more. I can't wait to read what she has.
