Cade (The Pursuit Series Book 1) He thought they were destined to be together – until a tragedy tore them apart.

Cade swore he’d never return to his backwater hometown. Ever since his sister was murdered and his relationship with Tally fell apart, there were too many painful memories there to face. But with a badly-timed knee injury putting him out of combat duty, he’s left with no choice but to go crawling back and face his demons.

Tally wrestles with the guilt of her best friend’s death. If only she had been there, instead of sneaking off to indulge her hidden romance with Cade, then she might not have died.

But now Cade is back in town, and the sight of him brings back a flood of emotions that she thought she’d long-since buried.

When the murders return right as Cade steps back into her life, the pair are drawn into a hair-raising search to find the killer and uncover the truth behind what happened all those years ago – and along the way, they must fight the simmering attraction that threatens to reignite the spark they used to share.

With the paranoia mounting and the killer drawing ever-closer, it seems like the past is returning to haunt them. With time running out, can Cade and Tally catch the culprit and realize the love between them that never died? Or will their shot at a second chance end in tragedy once again?

Filled to the brim with wild emotions, mystery, and a dash of thrilling suspense, The Pursuit Series is a gripping romance saga that is perfect for fans of second chance love. Scroll up and grab your copy now!

If only…

A second chance at love and all that...

"Of course she was going to hate me, how could she not? I let her down. Debs too."

"If I blamed myself, then he surely blamed me as well. I was the one who’d distracted him and kept him away from Debs. I stopped him from helping her. It was my fault."

Cade didn’t join the army to be working a fucking desk job. My training wasn’t for this. I was supposed to be in combat, helping people. Cade ran off and joined the military after his twin sister was murdered. Now he's staring at his past.

Tally blamed herself for her best friends murder. By the time she found out that Cade actually ran away to the military, which was something he’d never shown interest in before, it was too late. Her life had already changed course. Now he's standing in front of me, after years of wondering what happened to him.

This is the first book in The Pursuit series and it is a short, engaging read. Cade is a military man who loves what he does. However, when he gets injured, it forces him to return to his hometown and face a past that he would rather keep buried. Tally is the best friend of Cade’s twin sister and never left her hometown. Cade and Tally share a tragedy that seems to have resurfaced in an interesting twist. Will Cade be able to solve the mystery that seems to be rearing its ugly head? Is this their second chance at love? Overall, it is an intriguing beginning but it should have contained more before leaving readers with a cliffhanger. I cannot wait for the next book to see where the author takes these characters.

i read this book as part of an arc program. This is the first part of a new series. In this book, Cade returns to his hometown after he is injured while in the military. Cade is working at the local base while he heals and he is anxious to get back to active duty and away from town. Cade's twin was murdered and he left town soon after. Cade blamed himself because he was with his girlfriend Tally and his sister walked home alone, to be murdered on the way. Cade left without telling Tally. Now he is back and sees Tally at the hospital where she is a nurse. Tally is shocked to see Cade and memories come flooding back. I am hooked on this story, i can't wait to read what happens next. There is a cliff hanger and i think this is going to be a good series. Good one.

Wow. A gentle start - former school friends meet again after 5 years. He’s military, home recovering from a field injury, she’s now a nurse. Cade’s twin sister was brutally murdered, and Cade is still troubled by it. But then, rather unexpectedly, high drama… and ? A cliffhanger.
Well written. Very engaging, tantalising start, but also a somewhat frustrating tease to have to wait for the next instalment.
I received this book as an arc and this review is voluntary.

Story about love, loss, intrigue and second chances. Can two people who have deeply held misplaced feelings realize that love is the goal everyone is aiming for. And will they achieve this before other forces take that option away from them permanently?

Sorry, no spoilers. I read the entire series and must say it was a must read. I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.

This is a new series from Kayla and I am loving it already. Cade is no longer on active duty due to an injury. He bumps into Tally who was his girlfriend when his twin sister was murdered. There is a similar incident doing the rounds and he uses his military connections behind the desk to look into it further. A brilliant read that ends on a cliffhanger.

I received this series as an ARC for my honest opinion. I am glad I received the whole series at one time as each book in the series is very short. I wish it was written as one book as the recapping as you start each book was a bit boring. The story itself was quite good and the romance and suspense kept me highly entertained. I would recommend if you like quick short stories.

Confusing

Who actually thinks this is a story?? Its the prologue maybe? Actually a filled out review maybe??
So disjointed to actually not draw one into reading the next "installment " .
