Elizabeth Monday - an enthusiastic but ungraceful runner - is out of a jog in New York's Central Park when she practically stumbles into the arms of a handsome stranger. From there, though, things KEEP getting stranger, till it's all gremlins and trolls and chupacabra.

"Cryptid" is a type of Urban Fantasy story I really enjoy, about a regular person who stumbles into the supernatural world that exists right alongside their own, and has to figure out how to balance the two. It's a fun story with a lot of of humor, but also some substantial emotion to it. As the first installment of what promises to be an ongoing series, it spends a lot of its time introducing the main character, establishing the rules of the universe and how she came to be blessed (or cursed) with her ability to see the magical side of New York, and as such it seems like it flew by pretty quickly. I'm looking forward to hearing more about Elizabeth and her new friends.
