In the ever-changing modern international landscape, men serving at the tip of the spear need to be able to adapt, adjust, and excel in any environment, under any rules of engagement, at any time. This can lead to men making hard decisions that toe, and sometimes cross, the line between right and wrong.Brought together by tragedy, three former Special Operations warfighters; Morgan Tyron, Alex Foaly, and Vinny Jensen, find themselves having to do just that as they hang up their uniforms and enter the shadowy world of private military contracting. Their three-man company, Integral Solutions Consulting, provides their services around the world. For the right price, they do the jobs that governments and corporations want done that the military and police can’t, or won’t, do.Following several successful initial jobs, the team is hired by the Bolivian Government to help stamp out a fledgling drug lord in the outskirts of Bolivia’s capital. But soon the men of Integral Solutions find that success often leads to recognition, which can be dangerous in their line of work.Zach James uses a combination of real-world experience, extensive in-depth research, academic background, and his own passion as a reader to bring for the most realistic, hard-hitting, visceral reading experience possible. Deception is the first in a series of novels that follows Special Operators across the globe, and our home, as they attempt to hunt down and kill those that threaten the people of the United States, and the nation herself."Combining the suspense and action of a Brad Thor novel with the realism and detail of Jack Carr, Zach James spins a complex story with layer upon layer of violence and intrigue in his debut novel. A must read for thriller fans." - Ryan W. Aslesen, Beststelling author of the Crucible Series and War's Edge Series.

Book Review – Author and Army veteran Zach James’ book, Deception, was actually a pretty good read, but unfortunately it is way under promoted! Yes, the book cover image may come across as a cool Special Ops image slapped onto a dark background, but the content, storyline and characters were right on point. James knows exactly what he is writing about and told an exciting and captivating story that kept my interest from beginning to end. I read and listen to lots of military/spec ops books and this first-time military contracting story is right up there with similar top-notch military-themed stories like Kolt Raynor/Dalton Fury, Kyle Swanson/Jack Coughlin and Nathan McBride/Andrew Peterson. What I truly enjoyed about the book was the premise of former special operations operators entering the private military contracting business. I personally am not aware of any other books out there that may have this as a narrative but thought that Zach James’ initial attempt into this storyline was really good. The three-man military contracting company of Morgan Tyron, Alex Foaly and Vinny Jensen reminded me a lot of characters from Andrews & Wilson’s novels and Brad Taylor’s Taskforce books, two very well-known entities in the action thriller genre. And speaking of action, this book has plenty and well-written to be believable and realistic. From Bolivia to New York, to Zambia to Iran, to Virginia to New Jersey, James does a great job writing about the many locales and the relatable characters in the book. His penning demonstrated his extensive research and showed his attention to detail, an attribute to his military training. My only concern is that Zach James cannot wait another 10 years to write another terrific action thriller novel like this one. I highly recommend Deception to any action thriller reader. You won’t be disappointed!
