A somewhat unique personal experience grew out of reading this for me. Within the journal, I learnt how my middle name (Dawson) came to be so. I was named after a river that flows through the region my father was born and grew up but learnt, by reading Ludwig's own entry, that he in fact named the river. it was mentioned in passing early on in the journal and was quite a surreal experience for me to learn of this in this way.
