Oh my, another story that has left me wanting more. So amazingly written. Kuddos to Imani Jay, love how her characters came to life in this story. Where normally other authors take a full lenght novel to achieve, Imani gets it done in a short story. Can't wait for the next steamy story!!!

I wanted more of Brock & Marie, this book was way too short, but I like how Brock knew from the moment that their eyes meet, that she was going to be his . This was an awesome read, I look forward to more books from Imani.

On the fence
Brock was very upfront from the start. I was rooting for Marie but I don’t like condescending people. She was very judgmental and then harsh to Annie and Brock. Did.Not. Like. Her. Attitude one bit! That part rubbed me the wrong way. But overall I did like them as a couple.

I’m starting to see a trend of greatness 🤔🤨
Yep! Imani has done it again! To the point I’m sounding like a broken record! I really liked this story! One you don’t read about! A female from Gambia of all places! That was a total eye opener! 😳. This was a good book and I’m sooooo happy Imani didn’t dwell on the fact that this was an interracial couple. Lordy, some authors will focus on that and it’s so damn annoying!! It gets so tiring! I relate to this since all of my relationships have been interracial so I do enjoy reading about them. It naturally doesn’t matter to me what the nationality of the characters of the book is but if the author dwells on race it’s a instant DNF for me. I will drop it with the quickness fast that the flash. Faster than Flash Gordon with diarrhea rushing the toilet 😂. Again, Imani showing how much of an excellent writer she is and she focuses on the story and the passion of the characters and boy was there passion!! Hubba hubba! 🥵🤗. I loved the depth of the characters, even though this novella was short we still had some great backstory on both mc’s and we got to see a cameo of our favorite mobster Ben 🤣. This book rocked! Read it! This bear 🐻 gave this book 5 twinkling stars ✨✨✨✨✨

Brilliant read
Loved this first book of this author I’ve read but will be reading more. Marie can’t pay the rent and her flat mates aren’t happy so she agrees to go to this rich mans club where men pay you to be with them. Marie isn’t happy and doesn’t think she can do it as she moves to stand in the shadows while her flat mate arranges her a ride to get back home her number is called out.
Brock is just leaving when he sees Marie and knows that she is the one not just for the night but his forever girl he just needs to get Marie to see it and when he sees how her eyes light up on seeing him he knows she has the same feelings as him. Brock can’t get the number or address of Marie he has been looking for her since she left while he was sleeping he waits for one of her flat mates to come to the club and get them to give him her details and when he does she Marie she has a spanking waiting for her for what she has put. Rock through.

All I can say is call 911 cause this book is on 🔥🔥🔥! I borrowed this book on KU. But 2 paragraphs in it went to the amazon store and bought it. That's right, bought it. There is so much steamy dreamy jaw dropping goodness in this short story I had to add it to my library. This is not your typical Cinderella romance. It's BETTER!! Brock and Marie lit up every page in cthis short read. Imani Jay once again presented a book full of drama, passion, humor, steamy sex and an awesome HEA. That is why this reader is glad to give this book 5⭐.

Marie is a hard-luck case, captivated beyond her desperation to earn money via her body, by the attraction to Brock. Brock is actually written a bit boring and one-dimensional. He’s got is all, sure, but so what? Marie is a scrapper, but without edge or cynicism. It’s a bit annoying given how she’s economically situated, but works for the steamy story.
Besides characterization, the plotting could use some smoothing out, with more-clearly connecting motivations.

This fell flat for me. I’m not a fan of Cinderella retelling anyway and this did not turn me from that opinion. I skimmed the sex scenes because they dragged on and were boring. As well as confusing at times. To much description over and over on the his body, kinda cringey.

Just poorly executed.
There are also a lot of errors in the Kindle edition I had.
This is my least fav of series so far. I will read the mob boss book next because Ben Wylder is in that and he was in this one.

What a great read. Alphas like Brock who think nothing of sleeping with a different woman every night, but then get stopped in their tracks by instant love are my favorite characters. They live harder than they played and when they claim, they claim for life. Imani J knows her alphas and she didn't let Sweet Girl waster too much time before she claimed right back .great read

Brock and Marie are very Cinderella/Love at first sight! From first vision to first touch he knew she was the one and she would be it. Marie felt the goosebumps and the flames of something but not sure what. It’s a very steamy yet sweet tale boy meets girl. Loved it as always Ms. Imani!

I really enjoyed this gem!! Great storyline, and well written too without being rushed even though it's a short novel. I'm a new fan now of this Author now. Interracial dating doesn't have to be your thing in order for you to enjoy this book. Hands down I give it 5 Stars and would recommend it to anyone to purchase. It's worth the money.

This was a great short very hot story. Two people who just click the moment they meet but not just going to accept things at face value. Also makes you wonder if those types of places actually existed with similar results.

This is the second book I’ve read by Imani Jay. The first was included in the Savage Bloodline box set which I HIGHLY recommend.
