This volume picks up seamlessly where the first one left off, thankfully without any instances of SA this time. That said, it remains incredibly dark, delving into the brutal backstory of an orphanage and all the poor children there.

Ay no se chicos 😭😭 no me está gustando mucho esta historia, tbh. La traducción de este volumen al menos fue mejor que la del anterior, pero hay ciertos temas que no me terminan de cerrar/ no termino de entender, y, teniendo en cuenta que ya estamos tan cerca del final, debería entenderlos xd
Anyways hoy seguro lea el último volumen así termino esta historia de una vez, pero no le tengo muchas expectativas la verdad.

I'm reviewing this sereis as a whole. Well, this was different. The way the story is told was weird for me at first not being used to read comics by Chinese authors, but once I grasped how the story was told, I enjoyed it. The paranormal aspect was interesting though I suspected what was going on early in the first volume and the art is simply stunning. I'd love to read the following up story about these characters that the author is working on. I hope it will be translated.
I want to mention also the edition, is fantastic. The quality and the care the publisher has put on it is something else.

Tui đã định không viết review cho cuốn này thế mà sau 1 ngày đọc truyện vô tình lướt facebook thấy có bạn lập topic hỏi rằng Gil làm như vậy liệu có đúng không? Bạn ấy có nên thấy hả hê không…
Thế là lại cặm cụi viết đôi dòng…
Trước tiên, Sanctify hoàn toàn nhuốm màu u ám, từng khung truyện, cách đổ tone hay xây dựng tính cách nhân vật đều đặc sệt một mảng tối, vậy nên nếu ai đó là người lạc quan hoặc chính nghĩa hoặc lương thiện vị tha, ok vẫn đọc được nhưng có lẽ sẽ không cùng quan điểm với tác giả (hoặc với mình).
Quan điểm của mình: Với tất cả những gì bọn hiến tế đã gây ra chúng xứng đáng nhận lại hậu quả cuối cùng. Chúng tận hưởng cảm giác khi giết chóc, khoái trá khi bóp nghẹt hi vọng của một con người, dùng cái chết và tiếng kêu gào của bọn trẻ để hiến tế đổi lại tương lai danh vọng giàu có, chúng hoàn toàn xứng đáng với sự trừng phạt.
Gil trở thành The Fallen là giao ước trao cho cậu sức mạnh để trả thù, đây là một cuộc trao đổi ngang giá, mình muốn nói về cậu như một người chủ động hơn: Cậu còn sống, cậu có sức mạnh và cậu phải trả thù. Sẽ không có chuyện “nếu như” cũng không có một tương lai dễ thở được. Dĩ nhiên điều này vượt ra khỏi khuôn khổ đạo đức và pháp luật. Nhưng ai bảo đây là truyện, và truyện thì tác giả là luật!
Còn về Lance, kiếp sau của Lucian, giống như người đột nhiên bị tiếp nhận kí ức tiền kiếp Lance ở đoạn cuối khiến mình thấy hơi khớp, có lẽ quen với một Lance cứng nhắc và lãnh đạm rồi. Nhưng cũng phải nói, khi sóng yên biển lặng thì anh mới là người đáng thương, còn sống, nhập nhằng giữa kí ức bản thân và kí ức tiền kiếp, tình cảm sứt sẹo,…
Điều cuối cùng, mình thật sự thích cách tác giả xây dựng tình cảm của Sullivan và Lucian, bên nhau một cách hiển nhiên và dễ chịu, cảnh nào của 2 đứa mình cũng ngắm đi ngắm lại mấy lần, đáng lẽ họ và cả những đứa trẻ đáng yêu khác nơi trại mồ côi sẽ có một tương lai rất đẹp đẽ,….

Ein Großteil der TWs bleibt bestehen. Rape ist diesmal nicht dabei - dafür das Thema Selbstmord.
Es bleibt spannend. Es werden einige Hintergründe und die Vergangenheit zu Lance erklärt, und es wird eindeutiger, was es mit Gil auf sich hat :3 bleibt aber geheimnisvoll, da immer noch nicht ganz klar ist, wo Gils Obsession herkommt.
Es bleibt auch weiterhin sehr brutal - wir lernen, was in dem Waisenhaus passiert ist, der Gore und Torture-Faktor ist hier sehr groß.
Bin gespannt, wie es sich entwickelt.

El segundo tomo nos mete de lleno en la investigación, aunque me da la sensación de que se conectan los puntos demasiado rápido. Como obra de suspense, hubiera preferido más misterio, pero la ambientación, la atmosfera y el dibujo compensan el apresuramiento de la trama.

EVEN BETTER THAN THE FIRST!
Volume 2 of Sanctify continues the story of exorcist Lance Hunter and his companion Gilbert, with special focus on the orphanage massacre. This time, we get to experience the full story of what happened there and see the face of the killers, as well as witness the romance between Gilbert and Lucian: two older boys who were the last to be sacrificed.
This volume truly disturbed me. I found myself crying over the fate of the poor kids. I mean, I was livid. It was horrifying to imagine all these young children being tortured and murdered, it was so messed up. It almost affected my rating, but given the elements of the story, It's meant to provoke that reaction in us as readers.
Lucian and Gilbert's fate was heartbreaking. They were two young boyfriends in an era that didn't accept their type of love, but where they choose to pursue it anyways. They had plans. They were going to grow old together. They were happy. They had jobs. A future together. But in the blink of an eye, it was all ripped from their hands.
What I really liked was the depiction of Lance's powers, and again the use of numbers for the sound effects. It's symbolic and also fits the whole theme of angelic vs demonic energy. While his and Gil's relationship also evolved, it's clear there's something inside of Gil that's becoming harder to hold back, indicating his intentions aren't as pure as they seem.
It also featured a bonus story where we got to see Lance's childhood and how his powers first manifested. It was so sad seeing him try to save his teacher's family, able to see the demon following him around, but having none of the adults listen until the teacher ends up murdering them due to getting possessed. It must have been so hard for him to grow up like that, and I feel like this kind of depicts what it's like to grow up with 'demons' (like trauma) as a young child. Adults rarely listen, and you're stuck battling it on your own, and even when you become grown, it keeps following you around.
Overall, this volume was great. Disturbing, yes, but so well written and once again the art style was gorgeous. A definite 5 stars.

Tập 2+3 luôn nhé. Đọc tập 1 chưa hiểu gì thì tập này hiểu nè, SE/BE nhưng tác giả đang vẽ tiếp ss2 rồi, hi vọng đi :)) Nét 2 tập sau đỡ tối hơn, và đoạn cuối diễn biến theo kiểu tui không ngờ tới thiệt, thân phận Gilbert á. Phụ kiện xinh.

Increíble cómo empieza de fuerte este segundo volumen. Nada más empezar salimos de una de las grandes dudas y todo el tomo uno cobra tanto sentido, hasta el extra (no supero una tontería que leí sobre eso de una persona en redes). En este tomo Lance y Gil van al orfanato de St. Mary's y se descubren más cosas de los dos chicos, Gilbert y Lucian, así como la masacre que allí perpetuaron los caídos.
Me encanta el personaje de Gil, lo mucho que trasmite con su mirada y también Lance. El fuego entre ambos... Las chispas... El ambiente que se respira mientras lees. El extra del final de la infancia de Lance nos da una preciosa información para saber cómo acaba siendo como es.

Advertencia para futuros lectores: Sanctify es +18 y contiene escenas que pueden herir la sensibilidad, tales como asesinatos explícitos y sin censura.
Segundo tomo de Sanctify, y esto cada vez se pone más interesante. No voy a desvelar nada de la trama, pero deciros que todo va en aumento. Cada vez que voy leyendo me parece mucho más interesante todo el tema de la santa sede, los demonios, los descubrimientos sobre unos asesinatos del pasado, y el porqué las fuerzas demoníacas están actuando contra ciertas personas. Aunque el manga se venda como un manga BL 'boys love', no es para nada la trama principal de la novela, es más, para mi carece de sentido hasta que llegas a este tomo, y aún así, el peso principal recae sobre la investigación y el porqué de todo lo que está sucediendo. Si buscas más BL como trama principal, este no es el caso, pero aún así, merece mucho la pena leerlo. Cada vez se va volviendo todo más complicado, se van desvelando el sentido de las cosas, y aunque hay ciertos detalles que se intuyen desde prácticamente el principio de la novela, la explicación es mucho más compleja de nuestro simple razonamiento, lo que creíamos como obvio lo era y a la vez no, y me gusta como el autor juega con el lector a hacernos creer que sabemos la respuesta a toda la trama, porque no es así. Lance sin duda es mi personaje favorito, ya no solo por su forma de ser, si no por todo lo que es capaz de hacer, por su poder. Gilbert también va teniendo una evolución significativa, aunque conociendo ciertos detalles que vas viendo durante la trama, es casi lógico cogerle más cariño a Lance. Aún así me parece un personaje espectacular, son un duo perfecto que se complementan a la perfección. El final es para dejar de leer el tomo y coger el siguiente, lo deja en un punto demasiado interesante para poder parar e intuyo que todavía quedan cosas con las que sorprendernos.

thú thật khi đọc câu chuyện của gilbert và lucian mình cảm thấy quả tim như nằm trong tay ai rồi bị bóp chặt từng nhịp từng hồi. một chuyện tình đẹp, buồn và vỡ tan. nó bị những dục vọng của con người làm cho móp méo. và mình thầm nghĩ liệu ác quỷ có làm được gì khi mà con người không có những dã tâm đó?
ở vol một đến ba, mình cảm nhận được tình yêu tha thiết của gilbert dành cho người gã yêu. yêu đến hận và dằn vặt bản thân gã. để rồi gã đã gây ra những tội ác mà lucian không muốn thấy nhất. nhưng mình hiểu, mình hiểu vì đâu mà gã trở thành như vậy nên mình cũng yêu cách fox và sinh thiết lạc xây dựng con người và tính cách của nhân vật này.
và ở phần 'lost paradise', tình yêu của lucian trong hình hài lance hiển hiện rõ nét trước mắt mình, mình đã từng tưởng rằng lance đã quên rồi hay thậm chí là đã thất vọng khi thấy "người" anh chờ đợi bấy lâu biến thành như vậy - một con quỷ dữ. nhưng hoá ra anh vẫn yêu thiết tha gilbert, chỉ là gilbert thôi. dù anh vẫn luôn đau đáu một nỗi niềm, nhưng mình nghĩ tình yêu của đôi người này quá lớn để nói lời chia ly.
sau cùng, fox và sinh thiết lạc mở ra một cái kết mà ta không biết gilbert đã đi đâu, ta cũng không biết khi nào họ sẽ lại tìm thấy nhau. nhưng lance đã bảo họ sẽ gặp lại nhau ở mai sau và mình tin điều đó.
về phần tác giả, mình rất yêu thích nét vẽ của sinh thiết lạc và cách xây dựng cốt truyện cũng như nhân vật của fox. mình cực kỳ thoả mãn khi đọc xong ba phần truyện chính và ngoại truyện 'lost paradise' của sanctify, hy vọng trong tương lai sẽ được đọc thêm tác phẩm của godsstation ở dạng sách xuất bản ở nước mình.

In the second part of the series Lance and Will are still working together although there is still the darkness of Will's desire that Lance doesn't actually seem to be aware of. They go back to St Mary's to try to get more input and find that one of the guys who's family got killed had also been at the school land was on the wrong side of something that happened at the orphanage.
They also found are able to flesh out the story of two young boys who had left the orphanage Lucien and Gilbert. They had started a career of working toward having a car report shop because one of them was great with cars, but also got caught up with the horror that happened at St Mary's. Luke also know the White family where the oldest daughter committed suicide and then later Mr White killed his whole family including himself, all of it connected to the evil spirits.
This story remains a mystery because we still don't know what Will's obsession is all about and how it will play out in Lance's life. Will they be happen or is Will's sexual fantasies just too dark to not end badly.
I recommend this series at least though the 3rd volume because at this point, I simply can't stop reading and am hoping you are joining me in my enjoyment.

This story remains a mystery because we still don't know what Will's obsession is all about and how it will play out in Lance's life. Will they be happen or is Will's sexual fantasies just too dark to not end badly.
I recommend this series at least though the 3rd volume because at this point, I simply can't stop reading and am hoping you are joining me in my enjoyment.

Better than the first volume. Lance and Gil are still investigating the ritual murders; the volume starts with a second one, of which they warned the victim about. They visit the orphanage where the original massacre took place forty years ago and learn more about Gilbert and Lucian, the two victims whose reincarnations they likely are. The orphanage is full of evil spirits that Lance struggles to clear. Gil almost steps in to help, giving a reader a notion he's more than he seems too.
But this still isn't a romance, and as it's only three volumes long, I can't really see how it could turn into one. Lance has no interest in Gil; he barely notices the other man. Gil is still obsessed, almost giving in to his urges to assault Lance.
The extra story about Lance's childhood is hearbreaking. Art continues to be good, even if the artist says in the afterword they changed the style a bit, and I'm eager to learn how this will turn out. I'll definitely read the last volume too.

Avis tome 1 et 2 :
J'ai adoré ces deux premiers tomes de Sanctify ! Les illustrations sont tout bonnement incroyablement belles et l'intrigue est vraiment prenante. L'histoire est aussi très originale pour du Boy's Love et ça fait du bien.
Je veux absolument connaître la suite même si je me doute d'une chose ou deux. Appelez moi Sherlock mais je trouve souvent qui sont les criminels bien avant les premiers soupçons 😂 Un atout et une malédiction puisque j'adore les intrigues policières (surnaturelles ou non) mais je suis rarement surprise.
Le passé assez mystérieux de Lance m'intrigue beaucoup et le petit bout que l'on peut entrevoir à la fin du tome 2 ne fait qu'accentuer ma curiosité. Quant à Gilbert je me demande jusqu'à quand il va jouer son petit jeu.
Bref, il y a du gore (ce manga est assez sombre faites attention à votre sensibilité), une bonne intrigue, des personnages assez torturés ce qui promet une belle évolution (ou pas), de sublimes illustrations et du spicy (seulement dans l'extra du tome 1 mais il est bien costaud comme on dit et non censuré 🔥)

La familia Dickson también fue asesinada y también a un sacerdote del vaticano, lo que hace suponer a Lance que el enemigo es poderoso.
Gil y Lance viajan al orfanato y así poder conseguir más pistas. Una habitante les cuenta como conoció y convivió con Lucian y Gilberth. Eran chicos envidiados por muchos por su inteligencia y destrezas.
Al llegar al orfanato Lance puede ver lo que sucedió y lo que hicieron Dickinson y Conley. Y como Gilberth decidió vengar lo que les hicieron.
Es innegable la atracción que tiene Gil y como lo desea. Y por lo menos al final de este tomo vemos que aunque el deseo es inmenso se abstiene de hacer algo incorrecto.
Me gustó que hay mucha más acción y que podemos conocer más de los antecedentes al asesinato.
El capitulo extra, me gustó bastante y vemos a un Lance niño cuando empieza a tener estos poderes.

Une excellente suite avec son lot de révélations et de suspenses. L’enquête est passionnante avec une ambiance davantage horrifique, des créatures loin d’être mignonnes et des situations parfois malsaines. J’ai beaucoup apprécié l’accentuation du fantastique dans ce tome.
L’intrigue est haletante avec un peu plus d’action cette fois. On avance comme on s’interroge sur ce que l’histoire nous réserve pour la suite. Je pense encore deviner là où on part avec les protagonistes et j’ai vraiment hâte de découvrir cette conclusion qu’elle me surprenne ou pas.

En este tomo sigue el impresionante arte, dejándome sin palabras. Es simplemente bellísimo! Peeeeero sigue ahi el Gilberto dando vueltas a lo psycho. En esta ocasión ya ni siquiera lo sueña... Resulta que se le ocurre dopar a Lance y después que se duerme y lo lleva a la cama, le dice: "finalmente no me vas a poder rechazar" ?!?!?!?!?! Después no hizo nada pero dios mio, qué demonios le pasa? No termina de decidir si quiere ser bueno, malo, tomar lo que quiere, o qué. Igualmente este tomo refuerza lo que pensé desde el principio sobre que Lance es la reencarnación de Lucien y que Gilbert está matando a todos los responsables y es un caído, que vaya a saber cómo logra ocultarse de Lance para que no lo sienta.
Lo que sí, la historia en general es muy interesante, no tiene ningún reparo en ser cruel y es intrigante pensar cómo se va a resolver el caso. Team Lance ftw, es muy capo.

Inseparable, the boys leave the orphanage together at 16.
As far as Lance and Gil, there’s zero relationship development.
Demons.
The bracelet. The tattoo.
Lance: the dreams and visions continue.
Gil’s shower fantasy is the only action we get. 😔
Ambiguous, and hard to follow. This does not hit anywhere near the way the first one does.
