Ok, the qualms I had from the first book were put to rest with this volume. (The qualms being the body swap between the MC h and the antagonist. It felt…off that the antagonist ended up in the weak, sickly body, almost like a punishment and the MC h was in a healthy body and could do whatever she wanted).

Spoilers things happened between the MC h and antagonist and we find out who the true mastermind behind the switch was and why, BUT there was a side story at the end that made me go “huh?!” And scratch my head. Let’s just say, someone we THOUGHT was good ended up having….a weird moment that could end up showing the start of a new, more powerful and surprising antagonist/perhaps even villain.

Also, I’m not a fan of the half-brother love triangle with the MC h, sooooo I hope that ends quickly and with another love interest for one of the half-brothers. I don’t care who she ends up with as long as they are all happy at the end. No ships here, just all pair off happily please!

Though the swap was revealed at the end of the last book, this one still had a lot going on. I actually find our two main characters to be a lot of fun. And the murder plot was cute, as weird as that sounds. I can't wait to see what other antics These two get into.

The emperor is so annoying and oblivious. Easily my least favorite character.

This volume improved on the set up in the first one by a lot. It went much deeper into exploring the intricacies of not only the mysteries of the first, but also explored in much more depth the impact the switch had and will have going forward, both negative and positive, on Keigetsu and Reirin’s lives. While there are still some “ick” factors being presented and I’m not sure how I feel about the romantic developments, I do like Reirin as a character on her own a lot more after this volume, though Keigetsu and Leelee, even Empress Kenshuu, continue to greatly outshine her as empathetic characters grounded a bit more in reality.

The past of Shu Gabi was sad but it doesn’t excuse her action and I feel more bad for Shu Keigetsu because she was a victim of Shu Gabi’s grand plan and wasn’t treated like a true maiden by Shu Gabi, she was just a chess piece. Shu Keigetsu and Kou Rerin’s save plan was interesting. If I am honest, I am less interested in seeing who Rerin ends up with. I am more interested in how Shu Keigetsu will change and grow as a character and I cannot wait to see how she will be in the third volume.

The second part of the series, having stumbled upon the first one, I had finished it overnight and instantly started this one. Reading the novel was an ephemeral experience , usually reading light novels translated, we find that some phrases cannot be directly translated and makes the process of reading more difficult for the reader, but the translators have done a commendable job as well as the writer, who has written such a beautiful story

第1巻より第2巻の方が好きだった。正直に申し上げると、玲林と慧月の関係に、尭明と辰宇が玲琳をめぐって争うよりも、むしろ熱中してる。

玲琳と慧月はとても穏やかで親密な関係だと思う。嫉妬から生まれた友情は、真に美しくなることができる。

朱雅媚と黄絹秀の過去は悲しかった。もし彼らがもっと早く話していたら...しかし、絹秀は復讐の際にも自分のために墓を掘るということを誤解していたのかもしれない。

「可哀想な朱雅媚」と言うかもしれないが、雅媚の慶月に対する扱いははるかに残酷だと思う。朱雅媚は息子をあのように扱っていただろうか？

Going to have to say Reirin is a wonderful main character, one of the more entertaining ones I've read in a while. This volume that completes the first arc made her shine beyond what I was expecting. I look forward to seeing where the story goes next.

予想に反して2巻にして早くも黒幕が判明（まぁ、分かり易い黒幕だったけど）、そして、入れ替わり解消。
あっけなくて意外だった。が、これはラノベ。この軽さが「ライトノベル」だ。
全ては主人公レイリンの破天荒な無邪気さでどうにかクリアできてて、周りの人物達は皆少し変わっていて、突出していて、超優秀。ご都合主義ストーリーで王道なので、読んでいて楽。
まぁ、読みやすいし、新しい要素もないから、毒にも薬にもならないけど、楽しくはある。

箇条書き感想：
-その後も度々入れ替わる:これ、ケイゲツにはキツいのでは？中身がレイリンじゃないと相手が気づいた時に落胆した顔されたら、私だったら心折れると思う...
-尭明との関係に全く萌えない。コイツ好きじゃない。
-巻末のサイドストーリー：倶理須益...？「西域の国々では」...？
え、どういう世界観。この世界にもキリスト教あるの？(多分深く考えてはいけない)

The second book is rich with emotion. The way it explores each character’s experiences and inner world felt truly enlightening — especially when it came to our heroines.

This time, since I already knew what would happen plot-wise, I found myself paying more attention to the quieter elements: the character development, the subtle shifts in relationships, and the emotional layers that were easy to miss the first time around.

It made the whole story feel deeper and more meaningful.
