Fannie Lapp's aunts hire a handyman to help ease her burden caring for the family home and business. It turns out to be Gideon Zook who left their community after his Rumspringa. Fannie is concerned that he may not be able to give up modern living and truly return to the Amish way of life.
I enjoyed getting to know Fannie, Gideon and the secondary characters. It was enjoyable getting to know the different viewpoints on the different ways to live in this day and age. The story was enjoyable and finished with a satisfying conclusion.
I have been enjoying this series from Annies Mysteries series. this one, Hearts of Amish country, is no exception. Fannie is a devout Amish, and a hard worker in taking care of her goats. When a man comes back, after being out in the world, away from the Amish way, the crush she had for him becomes more. but can she trust him? will he break her heart? Will he leave for the English world again?
