Dangerous heat. Unforgettable heroes. Sizzling happy-ever-afters.

Thanks so much for checking out my bio. I'm Jenna Gunn, author of over 25 romance novels including multiple best selling titles.

My passion is writing thrilling action, high heat, suspense and rescuer romance books with fun and unexpected plot twists.

I love deep characters who overcome pain, mistrust, and damaged pasts to find their way alongside the mate of their dreams.

The men and women in my books have flaws, heart, fears and passion, just like we do—layers that make them slip into your heart.

All of my books are first person and include two Point of View. I mainly write MF contemporary romance, but have written MFM menage. It was super fun to write with three POVs.

Many books are in a series so you get to know the families, (5 brothers in the Archer Brothers Series, 5 brothers in The Eden Mountain Firefighters, and Teammates in the Agile Security and Rescue Series). All of the books are standalone and can be enjoyed that way too.

I've accomplished my dream as an author when my reader can drop into a book and forget the rest of the world.

In addition to dreaming up delicious heroes, I'm an avid to traveler, surfer, snow skier, and water lover. I'm known to spend long periods on the road with the husband and our pup in our camper van where I always pick up inspiration for my next book. Saving Summer tells the romantic story of Summer Lake and Carter Strong.
This is book 3 in the Eden Mountain Firefighters Series and can be read as a standalone, tho some characters from previous books make and appearance. If you read the Archer Brothers Series, you’ll be glad to know that some of the brothers make an appearance in this book as well.

“Don’t get anywhere fucking near her. Do you hear me?”
I had nodded and grinned, only he didn’t know I was nodding that I heard him loud and clear, but that didn’t mean a flippin thing.”

Carter Strong has been friends with Summers brother almost all of his life. And Marshall Lake doesn’t want Carter anywhere near his sister… Well to be fair, he doesn’t want any male near his sister. They aren’t any good for her and that’s a fact.

“Bro, what was that about?” He leans back against the sink and crosses his arms.
“Old business,” I grumble.
Liam’s friend grins. “Looked like current trouble to me.”

Despite the fact that bro code is in place, Carter and Summer can’t deny the attraction they feel towards each other and they date briefly before Summer has a career end injury and decides to leave town and Carter behind to pursue her studies.

“Carter is next to him with his arms crossed, with his jaw tight as an alligator that’s got PMS.”

Carter Strong is one of the Strong brothers. He splits his time between Eden, fighting fires and Lynn’s Cove on lifeguard duty. The man is a walking wet dream.

Summer Lake, was a professional skier that was training for the Olympics went she sustained a career end injury.
She felt lost, without a purpose and ended up leaving behind the people she love because she felt unworthy.

“Look, nothing about loving another human is straightforward. The best lesson I’ve learned is to listen. Really listen. Look between the lines for the pain we all experience. It just comes in different flavors. But it’s all pain nonetheless.”
I nod and scrub my hand over my face. “Your wisdom is appreciated.”
“I still feel the hurt, sometimes.”
“Even though he and his wife seem happy now, the scars must still linger. “You do?”
“Yeah. But I feel the love more.”

I liked this book a lot, though the heroine isn’t my favorite.
Despite Summer being such a badass on the track and having her professional life well put together, she has major confidence issues, to the point that it’s a little annoying.
Marshall is also so hot headed that he looks more like a caricature than a character in itself.

I do wish we had more Nolene tho… I absolutely love that woman!
Hopefully Jenna will bless us with a book about Gage and one about Maria.

Arc kindly provided by the author.

Carter and Summer effortlessly gained my attention from the first page and drew me into their second chance at love story. They are both over achievers (he is a fireman and lifeguard, she is a nurse and a physical therapist) and adrenaline junkies. Both Summer and Carter are also fiercely competitive, loyal to friends and family, and unable to forget each other in the years they have been apart. They both still carry so much pain from their breakup years ago which is evident in their first few encounters after she comes back to town to work at the medical clinic. Their emotional turmoil and sexual tension between them is palpable. They find that they just can’t stay away from each other. Their reunion doesn’t mean that their troubles are over, however. The reasons behind the breakup and her over the top protective and disapproving brother who is also Carter’s best friend have to be confronted. The emotions are raw and conflicted, the intimate encounters passionate and steamy. This book does have a happily ever after, but their journey to get there is full of ups and downs and a few twists.

Saving Summer is the 3rd book in the Eden Mountain Firefighters series. It's a stand alone Romantic Suspense with a 2nd chance with best friends sister trope. This book has great characters, interconnecting characters, no cheating, no cliff hanger, fast paced, action packed, steamy and one heck of a HEA.

Carter never wanted to break the bro code with his best friends little sister. But Summer was the only girl he wanted, so he broke that trust 4 years ago. He's never forgotten her even though she broke up with him and moved on.

Summer moves back to Eden after being gone for 4 years. She's ready to start her own business as a Physical Therapist. But before she can get that business up and running she is a nurse at a clinic and in walks the man who she gave her heart too but he tore her world apart. Carter still sets her on fire with just one smoldering look.

Summer and Carter cause sparks to fly when they are together, however she has a secret she needs to tell him and when she exposes the truth of why she left him, he may not be able to forgive her. Then suddenly Summer's life goes beserk and she's putting herself at risk for family.

Carter is on her heels to keep her out of trouble. He knows that he will go into hell to keep her safe. Having her body is one thing, will she allow him to have her heart as well?

This was a nice addition to the series. While it is a part of a series, you don't have to read the prior ones to understand and enjoy this one.

I loved the dual POV format that this is written in. Getting that glimpse into the character's thoughts really help to to identify and connect with them for a better reading experience.

The plot was an interesting one with a lot of different elements to it. It wasn't a boring read at all. A word of caution, there were a couple of sexy scenes here so I would not recommend this to someone under the age of 18.

This is part of the Eden Mountain Firefighter's Collection but is read as a standalone. A second chance at love for two people with amazing chemistry but were off-limits to each other. No shortage of drama, angst or suspense as they work through the 'bro-code' . This was a cute romance with great characters and an entertaining story line. A HEA and no cliffhanger. I read a free advance copy via the author and voluntarily chose to review it.

This was a good read. Summer and Carter have a past. One she would like to forget. However, she just can't get him out of her head. They have some issues to deal with and her brother certainly doesn't help matters. The good news is that in the end everything works out.

This is another book in the Eden Mountain Firefighters series. This is a second chance at a love story. These two were together years ago, until she just up and left without telling him why she left him. She is his best friend's little sister. Now she's back in town to work in the new clinic. With so much unknown between these two, how things will go when they see each other. She has so much hate for him one minute, then it's all fire blazing. There is a lot of jealousy from each of them. Her brother told him to stay away from him. Even though he didn't know they had already been together before. There ends up being some danger, and she heads out of town again. With this new danger, will he let her be hurt or will he protect her? Do these two come together again and have a HEA?

Summer and Carter's Story . . .

Carter Strong is a firefighter. Summer Lake, recently back in their hometown of Eden, is now a nurse and physical therapist. She had walked out on him for no reason, but the passion he had for her had never lessened. Her brother, Marshall, has told him to keep his hands off her.

But when her life is in danger, all bets are off and Carter will race to her rescue and protect her no matter what. Will they ever talk about why she walked out on him? Will they give each other another chance to find their HEA?

It is good he is a firefighter...he is going to need his skills to put out the fire they ignite

Saving Summer is the third book in the Eden Mountain Firefighters series. This is the first book I have read by Jenna Gunn so I was not sure what to expect, as you never know if you will like a "new to you" author or not. The book description piqued my interest and I was hoping that I would enjoy it, after all who doesn't love a "sexy as heck" firefighter who has a thing for his best friend's sister. As I had not read the previous books in the series I found this one could be read as a standalone, but there were a couple times where things from the previous books were referenced and some characters were popping up. This story is about Carter Strong, who is one of the Strong brothers who are all firefighters, and Summer Lake. This is a second chance romance book that delivers on the steamy hot sexy passion, drama, humor and a great story-line. The characters are well defined with some great interactions as he is determined to find out why she left him four years ago and she is determined to keep him at arms length. If Carter's best friend Marshall, who is Summer's older brother, does not kill him first Carter may just have a chance.
I enjoyed this nicely written book. The author's writing and story-telling styles were both enjoyable. This may be my first book by Jenna Gunn but I don't think it will be my last.

I received a copy of this book and am leaving my honest review. My opinions are all my own.

An enemy that makes her a walking freaking ovary
This book is about Carter and Summer. They share a history together – one that nobody else knows about. They kept their relationship a secret. Her brother Marshall had warned his friend Carter off of her, but she their attraction and connection was too much to resist. Summer abruptly ended their relationship without explaining why. And now that she has moved back to Eden for a new job, Carter is determined to find out the reason behind her decision. If she’ll give him the time of day!
There’s no denying that their chemistry is still smoking-hot, but Summer is stubborn and strong, making any attempts to talk really difficult for Carter. She doesn’t appreciate him encroaching on her new work place but remains professional – even with the hilarious goofball Scotch, Liam and Sophia around. When Carter finally kisses her, every part of her remembers him. It’s like his touch has been tattooed on her cells. He may be harder to resist than she’d hoped!
There’s a lot of drama, humour, high emotion, meddling family and friends, adventure, excitement, secrets, love, passion, lust and steam – and even being deserted on an island during a storm in the Bahamas! And when he says, “I’ve got you”… OMFG! That quote has me all gooey! I also liked the way the other characters from previous books were so involved in this story. I can’t wait to see who finds love next. I give this book four and a half rescued stars.

Carter Strong loves a good adrenaline rush.  He is a firefighter like his brothers and his father before him.  However, Carter is also a surfer and a motocross competitor.  While in Utah, he fights fires and races motor bikes.  Then for the summer season, he travels to California to lifeguard and teach surfing lessons.  Carter pulls a camper behind his truck.  This serves as his home.  He is a free spirit chasing his next rush.  Summer Lake, former professional skier, turned physical therapist after an injury sidelines her from skiing.  Summer has finally finished school and returned home to work in the local clinic while setting up her own PT clinic.  She is planting roots.  Summer and Carter have history.  Now that she is back, Carter is determined to find out what went wrong between them.  Can these two overcome their past hurts and differences in personality to find some common ground again especially when Summer's parents go missing?

Another great book in the Eden Mountain Firefighters series.  I love the depth the characters have.  I enjoyed learning about Carter and Summer's past history.  Gunn does a great job of dealing with major life disappointments that totally change the direction of your life.  This book is a great read with plot twists and some surprises.  It has great characters is witty and a little steamy.

Firefighter and Lifeguard, Carter Strong knew that Summer Lake was back in their small home town of Eden. Summer had been away gaining qualifications in nursing and physical therapy and was going to be working with his brother Liam at Eden Urgent Care.
Carter wanted answers, Summer had been the love of his life, there was an unbelievable passion between them but Summer had ditched him with no explanation, did she blame him for the skiing accident that shattered her Olympic dreams ? Seeing her on the grid ready to start a motorcycle race Carter knew that his feelings hadn't changed, the chemistry was still there in spades, he had to have Summer back in his life even though her brother, Carter's best friend Marshall, had forbidden him from getting close to Summer.......little did Marshal know.
This story follows the fight for Carter and Summer to be together, the difficulties of having two jobs miles apart, his jealousy of the handsome, wealthy rock star, her jealousy and feelings of inadequacy at the sight of the dolly birds who flirted outrageously with the hunky firefighter.
Summer's life is in danger and it is Carter, with help from an unexpected source, that mounts a rescue.
This is a lovely , well told story and I look forward to the next in the series.

The addition starts with the book cover….yeah…yeah…yeah don’t judge a book by its cover they say ….well we all do it and this one here it is the scratch to your itch or better yet the filling to your oreos! Speaking of filling…..wait, that’s for later. Within the first chapters you get the panoramic view of whom you’re dealing with! This is book is part of the Eden Mountain Firefighters series why just read one when you can start at the beginning and keep reading through the series it won’t be a waste of time. Carter sexy as all get out firefighter, sweet, a little rough around the edges but soft inside and he knows there is only one woman for him. Summer is sweet, takes care of others, the sister to her ex’s best friend (Carter), and will always love him. They were in a relationship one day and the next she just left without explaining to him why leaving to wonder. Fast forward she has just moved back home, and he still wants to know why she left him the way she did, but Summer is handling him hate stars and arm’s length. The chemistry is still just as intense, and the magnetic pull can’t be ignored anymore he is determined to do what he needs to do to get his girl back will he succeed, will she explain why she left, can they work through the issues, and will they grab hold to the second chance fate is handing them?

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Saving Summer is the third book of the Eden Mountain Firefighters. Carter Strong is a firefighter, ocean rescuer and motocross racer. He is also in love with his best friend's, Marshall, sister. Summer is a doctor of physical therapy and in her off time she too races motorcycles.

I love the crossover to the lifeguards of Lynn's Cove. Carter spends half his time with them. It is fun to check in with them. The Eden Mountain brothers and wives from book 1 & 2 are throughout this book as well. Throw in a fellow navy doctor friend of Liam, a rock god, Gage and a tough talking, motocross racer best friend, Maria. They all round out the character list.

The plot about loving his best friend's sister has been done many times before but Jenna Gunn has a few secrets around that to change it up. The plot speeds up from there. With parents missing in the Bahamas, Lynn's Cove lifeguards in California and Eden Mountain, Utah this story travels. My favorite part of Jenna Gunn's books is the family and towns that she creates. There are quite a few brothers but she always adds quirks that differentiate them. All of the books are stand alones that end happily. Saving Summer is a perfect summertime read. Jenna Gunn is is an author I always enjoy. Thumbs Up!

Carter and Summer

Carter Strong is the son that can't stay still. He is either in Utah fighting fires or in California doing ocean rescues or in the desert somewhere motocross racing or in the mountains skiing. Either way he is never in one place for long. His best friend Marshall Lake has been racing with him since young and still his racing partner. Only there is one this that Carter wants but can't have, answers to why him and Marshall's little sister never made it, why she broke up with him.

Summer Lake baby sister of Marshall Lake, been dealing with disappointment for a long time but now she has a goal in her mind and it has lead her back to her hometown of Eden, Utah. She is starting to work at the Urgent Care Clinic with Dr. Liam Strong/Dr. Sophia Peter and the new Dr. Jameson "Scotch" Scott.
Only her plans are not going the way she planned.

This book introduces more characters that spin off into their own books. Marshall Lake- Owner of Team Security (Forbidden Knight (Agile Security & Rescue Series) or Dr. Jameson "Scotch"- Deadly Rescue (Agile Security & Rescue Series) or Gage-Lead Singer of Soul Carnage, Julian -His bodyguard (Rocked), Reno-bodyguard, Maria-Summers best friend (Resisting the Bodyguard Seal)

Book can be read as a standalone but not recommended get to know the Strong Family and all the characters around Eden, Utah.

Very interesting! Summer, a professional ice skier heading for the Olympics, dirt bike motor cross racer, as her brother and physical therapist has a lot going on in Eden. She wins trophies, but not so lucky in love after a brief tryst with bad boy, Carter Strong, her brother's best friend, firefighterin Utah and a life guard in California. He drums up every woman's heartbeat along the coast, but still has a spark for his forbidden attraction, Summer. The characters, her brother Matthew, Uncle Will, her famous musician friend are well drawn out, quite a well known cast of friends with sub plots to add some weight to this book. Although Summer's parents suddenly make as appearance three quarter of the way in the book, this diversion seems sudden and the way Summer ran off to play sleuth in the Bahamas was too rash. Jenna does tie up all loose ends and gives us answers to all of our questions in her last chapter as an added bonus. Saving Summer is worth your money if you are looking for a refreshing, calming summer read with beachy, tropical scenery, summer parties, fun and frolic.

What a fantastic story that had me gripped from the very start! Carter has never gotten over Summer, his best friends little sister. He never knew why she finished with him and when he sees her again all those feelings for her come straight back, however Summer is having none of it. Summer has to keep her guard up around Carter, however it is easier said than done when all she seems to do is lose control around him. Very quickly things start up again between Carter and Summer and despite hiding it from her brother, things are going well, until Summer reveals a secret she has kept hidden from Carter for years. When Summer takes off in search of her parents, putting herself in danger, Carter does the only thing he can, follows the woman he loves. Such a fantastic author, the story was so well written you won’t want to leave it down. The characters are amazing and the connection between them was unbelievable. You will be on an emotional rollercoaster reading this book! Definitely recommend!

Who is Carter? Where is he from and where is he at? What does he do for a living? Who is Marshall? How do he and Carter know one another? What actiity do we find that they share in common? Who is Summer? How do they each know her? Who are Liam, Sophia, and Scotch? Scotch is a HOOT! I could not help but to laugh at his antics when he made an appearance throughout the story! I really like Sophia. She seems like a good person! Who are Gage and Quinn? How does Gage know Summer? Who is Anthony? What bombshell does Marshall drop on Carter when they go looking for Summer? Oh my gosh, when Carter meets up with Bishop and is warned about the momma's, I could not stop laughing at what happened next. What happens when Summer climbs a ladder? What is going on with Summer's parents? Read and see what happened! I was stunned!

Gotta Love Those Strong Brothers
In Jenna Gunn’s “Saving Summer,” Book 3 in the Eden Mountain Firefighters romance series, we get to see the second-chance HEA journey for another Strong brother. Carter is a bit of a heroic nomad, splitting his time between fighting fires in his hometown of Eden, Utah and lifeguarding for an ocean rescue organization on the California coast. He’s cocky and gorgeous like all of his brothers, and he has been secretly in love with his best friend’s sister since he was a teenager. Summer is beautiful and headstrong, and there’s very little she won’t do - sometimes to her own detriment - for someone she loves. This particular title in the lineup has a bit more drama and action than the previous books, and it was really good! Gunn has created such a great cast of characters in this series, and it’s so much fun to catch up with earlier characters while getting to know new ones and wondering who’s going to get the next story. All the feels with this one - a little bit of an emotional rollercoaster - but totally worth the ride!

Summer and Carter used to be an item when they were younger, before college. Summer broke off their relationship for the lamest of reasons that made sense only to her. Four years later Summer is a nurse in Eden, Utah and Carter is a part time fireman in Eden and a part time lifeguard in Glen Cove, California. Their paths cross again and their whiplashy rollercoaster of a relationship traveled from Eden to Glen Cove and even an unexpected detour to the Bahamas.

The story was very entertaining and fast paced. Summer kept bringing the self-inflicted angst and everybody around her kept fixing the messes she got herself into. Fortunately, Carter mostly behaved like the adult in the room.

*Spoiler alert*

I think my favorite part of the story was the Bahamas detour. Summer once again got herself into a pickle but Carter was there to save the day. They got stranded for a couple days on a small island trying to get away from a storm at sea. Very romantic.

Carter and Summer are deep into motorcross racing and skiing, as well as each other. When an incident blows her chance to train for the Olympics in downhill skiing, she heads for her physical therapy doctorate and drops Carter. She no longer thinks she can be as active and he needs someone who can keep up with him. He is never told this and they are both pining for the other. When she returns to her hometown a few years later, the very first patient she has is Carter and things skyrocket again.
The characters are strong and determined, with great backstories that still are coming out as they get back together... and tear them apart again. The storyline is well written and entertaining, even with the missing parents and a rich rock star and his bodyguards. The situations were very visual and the locales were fun. Loved the tight brother-sister relationship that is so overboard, but believable. The ending was so perfect and a big surprise.

This book brings us Carter and Summer. Carter and Summer. Carter is kind of a nomad, moving around being a firefighter, lifeguard. Summer was a skier when a biking accident caused major damage to her leg which ended her career. Summer and Carter were dating at the time, and Summer became very depressed and ultimately broke up with Carter with really no explanation. Now a few years later, Summer returns with a degree in physical therapy, and is working for Carter's brother at this practice. As much as they try to stay away from each other, the chemistry between the two of them becomes too strong to deny. Carter tries to get Summer to open up as to why she left him, and when she does, he is left angry. However, the more time that passes, they both realize that they have a future and not look back. This was a great read and I highly recommend it. I did receive an arc for an honest review.

This is my first book I have read by Jenna Gunn. Where have I been? What a fantastic story! I couldn’t put it down. The story grabs you at the first page and pulls you in. Carter is a firefighter and an ocean rescue lifeguard. He is a well built, muscular, sexy, and sometimes cocky male, but he has feelings and strong feelings for Summer. Summer is back in their hometown to be a nurse in the ER and start a Physical Therapist Clinic. Summer is curvy, sassy, feisty, smart and sooo in love with Carter, but can’t be with him. This story has drama galore which makes for interesting and unique storylines which are sooo good. The characters are lovable, funny, entertaining, enjoyable and they are just HOT! HOT! They have sizzling chemistry and are explosive together. The story is dynamite, sizzling, sexy, entertaining, steamy, hot, humorous, passionate and filled with emotional turmoil. The author did an amazing job with characters and storylines. It is a fantastic read!

Summer’s and Carter’s story is super-fast paced; there is enormous attraction between these two, even though Summer tries to fight her feelings at the beginning.
However, both soon realize that their love and magnetism is incandescent and they can’t be without each other. Well, there are some insurmountable obstacles between them, like the bro-code and Summers uncle, who detests Carter, or the fact that Carter works two jobs, one in Utah as a fire fighter, the other in California as a life guard. … but read for yourselves, I very much enjoyed my time with all the characters in this book!
I take off one star, because the part when Summer’s parents are hostages in the Bahamas was a bit too confusing, this side story should have been better developed.

I really enjoyed reading, Saving Summer- A Firefighter's Second Chance by Jenna Gunn because it was such an intense and steamy story about Carter and Summer. They both had a past with each other, but Summer's brother was a thorn in each of their sides. He was super protective of Summer and made his friend vow he would never be with his sister. Carter was a firefighter and he also helped out with ocean rescues as well. Summer was a nurse working at the local clinic. Their heat and chemistry was very intense but they had to resolve a few issues from the past. Loved the drama that was in the story, I had to keep reading to find out what would happen next. I would highly recommend reading this story. It was such a great story!!!

Jenna Gunn is an outstanding writer. Her books are entertaining. Saving Summer is the third book in Jenna's Eden Mountain Firefighters.

Summer Lake is returning to her hometown of Eden, Utah. She plans to open her own physical therapy office. She lands a temporary position at the towns new doctor's office. She enjoys auto racing in her free time.

Carter Strong spends his time lifeguarding and firefighting. One job takes him to the ocean, while the other gives him a chance to stay close to his family in Eden, Utah.

Carter and Summer have a past. Summer's big brother has always been Carter's best friend. When they tried being together years ago no one knew. Summer suffered an accident resulting in pushing Carter away. Can her return home be a second chance?

Carter Strong is a firefighter in Utah and does ocean rescue in California part-time. Summer has returned home to Utah to work at the Urgent Care Center with Carter’s brother as a nurse and physical therapist. Carter and Summer has a history but ended things when she left 4 years ago and Carter still has feelings for her and wants to know what happened. They kept their past relationship hidden because she was his best friend’s sister and her brother was over-protective. Will Carter learn why Summer left him in the past and can they rekindle their love?

I enjoyed this story of former lovers who reunite and have to work out their problems. There is family drama, danger, and romance in the story as Summer and Carter try to figure out if their futures will be together or apart. The epilogue was a perfect ending for their story.
