After repelling invaders in the south, President Latham and the newly formed government direct attention toward enemies in the north.
As war torn survivors cling to life, Will and Isabella are assigned to an Army cavalry unit tasked with a special mission. With the aid of new friends from Evening Shade, Missouri, they battle to save the country from Dempsey and his sinister forces bent on total control.
Torn between protecting family and defending the nation, Will makes agonizing choices that place him in the center of the war and the fight of his life.
No Man's Land is book five in the Fall of Houston series, but Will’s friends from Missouri have had their own Turbulent days since the EMP. Check out the companion series, Days of Want, to find out how survivors have struggled in Missouri and succeeded against all odds.
No Man's Land by T.L. Payne is the last book in the Fall of Houston five book series. I have a hard time reviewing this type of series by each book, so I'm talking about them all as a unit. This series could have benefited from some heavy editing. I think cutting it down to two (or possibly three) books would've been an improvement. A lot of the action in this story gets repetitive. People get into trouble, then fight their way out again and again. I got tired of the main character constantly saying all he wanted to do was protect his boy. I also thought the politics of the situation were a bit simplistic. Communist countries don't cooperate with each other just because they're communist. Unless I was a true blue fan of this genre, I'd skip it.
This is book five in TL Payne's Fall of Houston series, No Man's Land.
Set in Texarkana, Will and his sister's group are surviving in a government encampment after the EMP blast changed the face of the United States. Invaded by Russia, China and a host of other militia, they are struggling to find a safe place without government dictatorship. Will is torn between protecting his family and defending the nation he truly loves.
TL Payne delivers yet another great story. I find the writing entertaining, inspiring and addictive. You absolutely must read all of the Fall of Houston prior to reading this one. I'd also recommend switching over to Days of Want in order to not spoil the story line, the way I did.
Otherwise, it's a highly additive EMP thriller that you should immediately purchase.
Meh. I was just not into this one. I only finished it because it is the last in this series. Everything I liked about the other books in the series was missing from this one. It was a little boring and I skimmed through most of the military mission starting from about halfway through. I listened to all the other ones on audio, but this one I read on Kindle. So many typos! I think there's another related series, but I will probably pass on it.
I was kind of nervous about this one, I’m so worried that something is going to happen to one of the main characters. I don’t think my heart could take it.
The country is fighting back, trying to get control back, and find a way to rebuild. But this means war, and it seems that they are fighting more than one enemy.
I’m looking forward to the next book! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this for those who love Apocalyptic Survival Thrillers!!
I feel like I’m missing a book between 4 and 5. Apparently a lot happened between the end of book 4 and the start of book 5. But never the less I quite enjoyed the author linking this series and hie Days of Want saga which I really liked.
As they set out to recover the gold to pay for weapons and ammunition that the US desperately needs they determine that there is a rat in the middle of the pack. The radish removed they recover the gold and make nice But too many deaths have caused a toll on their hearts
The thought of us ever having to do this in United States, citizen against citizen, and I know a lot of people have different values and wants and needs to have a dictator. No we still want freedom of speech, freedom of that of firearms and freedom to go where we need to and want to go.
This was book 5 of the series, and not a single moment of boredom! The battle still rages, on multiple fronts and a variety of characters. Never a dull moment for sure.
Another great book by T. L. Payne. I love the characters in this book and series. I can’t wait for the next book in this series. I would recommend this book and all of T.L.’s books.great
Do glad to get book5 😀 have really enjoyed this series. The home in Louisiana. The escape from Houston . The love developing between our characters.. When do we get book 6?
I loved how this series merged in with the days of want series I had already read the days of want series before this one, it was great I loved it I say Kudos to T.L Payne love your books
Brilliant, I was kept enthralled throughout. Following Will and Isabelle’s, service missions. A war where Americans against Americans, Chinese and Russians continues.
Even knowing how the companion series ends I was expecting more from this ending. It was rather abrupt. Great story though. Would definitely recommend .
It took Guts to go after the Gold so the US could buy the Guns! The twists and turns could make your head spin in this story. But we have to remember the sacrifices made by the Troops that didn’t come home. They had Guts and they must not be denied their Glory!
I love survival books and T.L. Payne is a great writer of these type books. I liked the storyline and characters a lot in this series. Some sad moments and kept me interested. Really enjoyed the ending to the series.
I really liked this one. Everything happened super fast, and sometimes it seems like just too many bad things happening back to back. I hope to see where this story goes.
Another great addition to this fantastic series. Loved catching up on these great characters. I am so glad I found this series in Kindle Unlimited. Happy reading!
