Well that’s a twist

Ok. Great. A lot happened. We get to see Delina and Tricus for like 5 minutes (they’re there the entire book though, just separately) and then the book suddenly took on another life (always a good thing when the fires ion beyond that other life is clear -not so clear here though, but not bad either).

I’m unclear though, is there going to be a third book about Delina and Tricus or are we moving on to Tempest’s story. Cuz the author didn’t mention that we’ll be seeing them soon. In fact, her acknowledgment of the ending made it seem like their story was over when they personally have so much more to do. Them, not anyone else. (Although throwing in a random person to meet up with their storyline is not a bad idea).

Also, what was with the “a child is just a child, but that is no child” and then the ending of “it’s a child”? Nah, you gotta explain how that conclusion came about so rapidly. It’s gotta be shown, not just told. This telling thing also happened in the end with the “well, you’re different now”, okay… so… but what happened with the whole situation though? (Trying not to give our any spoilers here) A hint of what happens would have gone a long way into assuring me the book will continue not just that flaccid (IMO) ending that leaves me wondering “what the hell? Is that it”.

Maybe the author hasn’t quite figured out what she wants to do with the characters next? Feels that way to me. Almost felt like the author took a combination of tropes and isn’t quite sure what next now. Whatever.

The author has done a good job making this take on a new life but it feels like they don’t quite know what next IMO.

I would have loved to wait for the 3rd book before reading this. It’s not a cliff hanger, the end was just unsatisfying especially because I don’t know if it’s the end (for the Delina and Tricus storyline) or not.

So stretched out

I feel like this books story was just drug out to fill the pages. So our heroine was pregnant and tired, pages of this over and over. The possession was confusing and not clear, and the climax at the end was only a few pages. I really didn't feel the love story at all.
