War correspondent Remi Taleb needs to get to Beirut. Fellow journalists who were kidnapped by terrorists have a story to tell, and she will report on it. So, if that means hitching a ride with a Senator who may or may not be a danger to herself (and everyone else), so be it. But when everything goes wrong along the way, Remi will need to stay sharp just to survive and not become part of the story….which would be a lot easier if she wasn’t distracted by the handsome head of the Senator’s security team.
T-Rex Landry, commander of Delta Force Echo, goes where he’s needed—and if the Senator needs him, he will complete the mission. He always does. Getting involved with the sexy reporter shadowing his client was not part of the plan. But nothing else went to plan since they met. So, why should he expect to maintain professional distance from the only woman he’s been attracted to since losing his wife?
Their road to happily ever after is rocky, messy…and potentially deadly. Can their shot at love survive the Danger Zone?

Warning: this book contains in the very early pages an incredibly - and unnecessarily -- detailed summary of the major event at end of Hyper Lynx.
Remi is a war correspondent, one of the best in the buslness, but now shaken by the capture of 3 French journalist friends in the Middle East. She wants nothing more to get to Beirut to support Jean-Baptiste, the only one of the 3 who has been released. Remi convinces her editor to send her back to do a story on a senator heading to Beirut to give a speech at American University. Remi is one of the most dedicated war correspondents out there, with no time for personal relationships outside her 'wombats' - Remi's term for the other foreign correspondents considered part of her inner circle. Note- there is quite an entertaining and just odd info dump on wombats as Remi explains why she calls them that.
T-Rex is with Delta Force, and one of the detail assigned as personal security to the senator, and at the special request of the senator. He can't say no though this type of assignment is not much to his liking. He's also a widower, determined not to try to juggle a relationship with the demands of Delta Force. Yeah, that's out the window when he and Remi get a look at each other. Of course.
Naturally, they have not even managed to leave DC when things start going awry, with incresingly dangerous events, news of escalating attacks on foreign journalists, and oh the senator is acting very odd. All comes to a pretty thilling climax in Beirut.
Once again the K=9s only have cameos, but there are plenty of studly men along with the high level action and some pretty hot sex. The journalists under attack theme seems to be left hanging....will have to see if it comes up again in the next in the series. This particular trilogy, with 'danger' in the titles are not stand alones.
'You don't fall for your principal. You just don't fall'
T-Rex is convinced it is that easy but his own words will come back to bite him in the ass, because Remi may not be his principal, but he very definitely does fall completely for the fierce, driven and determined reporter. She amazes and terrifies him at every turn, she seems fearless, is unexpectedly over prepared, has a mind that never stops working and just occasionally lets him see a hint of vulnerability. For the first time in years she makes him think....dirty thoughts, possibilities, what ifs and hopes of a future. A terrifying mission where journalists seem to be systematically targeted, the principal is acting erratically and the puzzle pieces don't quite fit together.... I read this on Kindle Unlimited.
Loved the smart, courageous war correspondent heroine with mad skills.
When fellow journalists who she was supposed to be traveling with in the Middle East are captured by terrorists, she manages to travel from the US with a senator to the area where one of them was released. K9 handler hero is part of senator’s security team. Though he was large, strong, brave and attractive, he wasn’t the least cocky or alpha but kind and respectful. I would have preferred him to have had a little more edge, but that’s me. Others may like him that way.
Heroine is amazing with her equipment and abilities and dog is over the top smart but very sweet. The action keeps up a good pace. Wasn’t crazy about the ending. Would like to have seen the terrorist puzzle pieces fit together better but it was okay. Story not as high on realism as some other special ops stories are but still enjoyable.
Another great read from Fiona Quinn and her ever-expanding many-faceted Iniquus world.
I started reading this author about three months ago, beginning with the Cerberus Tactical K9 trilogy when I was taken by the cover of Survival Instinct (I pretty much read anything with a K9 in it, be it military working dogs or law enforcement doggos). Was immediately captivated by the Lexi/Lynx character in those books and, wanting to know more about this unique and super talented extraordinary woman, went back to the first Iniquus novel and quickly consumed all seven novels primarily featuring Lynx (Iniquus #1-4, 15, 23, 31).
As I read those books, Fiona Quinn immediately became one of my favourite authors and I then inhaled her Strike Force series, the FBI Task Force triology, the Cerberus Tactical Team Bravo trilogy, then the Uncommon Enemies quadrology. I'm now making my way through the Delta Force Echo trilogy.
Having now read 25 of the novels in the Iniquus world, I can state without hesitation that I have thoroughly enjoyed each book in the various series, with their core story (often seemingly drawn from international real life headlines), the depth and development of the various characters, the interlinks among the novels, the page-turning suspense, the intracacies and complexities of the plot, and the author's authentic writing, story flow, great attention to details of characters' development, thinking and actions; locations; other countries' culture; application of technology; law enforcement and military ethos, speak, knowhow, structure and equipment. This is an author who clearly does in-depth and detailed background research for each of her diverse stories.
Danger Zone is another great addition to the Iniquus world, though a couple steps removed with the principle male character being a member of Delta Force Echo, and not yet employed by Iniquus. I particularly like that both T-Rex and Remi are about 40 years old. It's refreshing to read a great story with older protagonists. Further, Remi is a smart, strong, independent, capable woman. The story flows well with the author providing good background on what makes the main characters tick. There are also thoughtful details about how Remi as a war correspondent prepares for her assignments and the rationale for such, for example preparing her personal kit. Additionally, to ensure her personal safety, she applies what she's learnt from covering special forces as a journalist, including outfitting herself with protective equipment similar to what they use.
There is though one hiccup in the novel which truly surprised and disappointed me a little as it was a bit jarring given the careful attention to details exhibited in all the other 25 books I've read by this author.
Early in Chapter four, while T-Rex is speaking with D-day (a Night Stalker pilot and the female protagonist in the Instigator novel) , and thinking back to Ty's most recent assignment when Echo was tracking Omar Mohamed Imadi (the main bad guy terrorist focus of the previous book Danger Signs), he notes that the CIA had discovered "Omar's American niece, Kira,...and introduced London to her Uncle Omar's friend...". Kira's uncle was Nadir, a wealthy Qatari and terrorism funder, who under Sharia law, and because Kira's father was dead and he was now male head of the family, had actually selected Omar to be Kira's husband. The paragraph also ends with "Kira would be there [at the Davidson's compound in Tanzania] to see her friend London." Kira was actually there because London had her handling the organization of and ensuring all the myriad details for the first evening of hospitality (with food and flowers flown in with Kira the day before) for those flying in the following day with billionaire William Davidson for the secret meeting. It is surprising that the author, her editor, or even her beta readers did not pick up on the major Omar inconsistency with the previous story line, or the smaller one about Kira and London. Yes Kira was looking forward to seeing London in person again (even though they spoke regularly via video calls) but Kira's primary reason for being in Tanzania was to ensure all the hospitality prep was in place before the guests arrived by private plane at Davidson's compound. While these inconsistencies are not an issue for someone who is reading Danger Zone as a stand alone, it is rather jarring for those who are reading the entire Iniquus series and not having encountered such a slip up previously, and for anyone who has just finished reading Danger Signs. Usually the author's incorporation of backstories from previous books in the series is consistent and smooth.
I would still highly recommend Fiona Quinn's books to anyone interested in a well-written, engaging, page-turning suspense/thriller involving special operations or FBI or CIA or other 'alphabets', with captivating characters and nicely developed romantic aspects.

Fast-paced and full of action but not the normal guns blazing type… Danger was a bit different and a lot awesome. Remy an amazing war correspondent is a total badass and needs to get back to the action to check on a friend… Remy needs a way in and that’s through taking a trip with Senator Blankenship… It was meant to be an easy gig to get where she needed to go… but honestly is there ever such a thing as an easy gig. Echo team lead T-Rex along with Ty, K-9 Rory and Havoc are being sent with Senator Blankenship as security… not there normal thing but hey they go we’re they are told as Delta’s the answer is always yes sir… T-Rex is curious when he finds out Senator Blankenship asked for him personally, he doesn’t know her and as a Delta his identification is too secret… And so the story unfolds with numerous little mysteries and adventures along the way, some before they even take off from Washington… This story was fast-paced, action-packed and full of thrilling adventure. I was surprised with a few or the outcomes, saddened by some and oh so in love with other’s but… no spoilers. Lol Suffice it to say if you love a great romantic suspense with a few twists you will love this story, Fiona Quinn has done another amazing job.
Quinn never disappoints and Danger Zone is no exception!
Steamy, dangerous, exciting, and possibly deadly - all these are words that describe the trajectory of this love story. Remi Taleb is a journalist on assignment with a US Senator in the Middle East. T-Rex Landry is Special Forces and assigned to protect that Senator - and ONLY that Senator.
In her trademark fashion, Quinn manages to insert high tech, dark ops, and a bit of Cupid into this Book Two of the Delta Force Echo Trilogy. A well-researched storyline kept me in its grip to the last dregs, and I enjoyed every moment of it. This is not a lull-you-gently-to-sleep book; but then, we can all use a bit of spice, can't we?
No fear though, yes, there is definitely steam here; steam that is masterfully written and in no way prurient; Quinn will have you clamouring for more. And there ARE so many more. When you're done with Danger Zone, dive into Quinn's Iniquus World. Her characters become friends and keeping up with them will become your new hobby.
[I was fortunate to receive a pre-publication copy of the book from the author, with no obligation to review. The opinions expressed herein are given freely and are entirely my own.]
Danger Zone is another great one by Fiona Quinn. It is full of action, suspense and intrigue. This story features Josiah “T-Rex” Landry, the leader of Delta Force Echo, and Remi Taleb, a war correspondent for the Washington News-Herald. T-Rex and two of his teammates plus a canine are assigned to guard a U.S. Senator, Barb Blankenship, from Texas. She is flying two teams of girls home from an international girls’ robotics competition, one to London and one to Iraq. She will end her trip in Lebanon with a speech. Remi begs for a way to get to Beirut after 3 of her French colleagues are kidnapped by ISIS with one tortured and released and taken to a hospital there. Fluff and or politics is not her norm but she takes the assignment. The trip starts with a bizarre buzzard attack and only gets weirder and more dangerous. There is also a big attraction between T-Rex and Remi from the beginning and it grows as the danger increases.
So I'm coming to the end of the World of Iniqqus books that have been published so far. I can honestly say there isn't a single one that I haven't enjoyed. This book is about a US senator, travelling on a goodwill/ publicity mission, her three Delta force security detail, including one K9, and a reporter trying to get to her friend and fellow reporter, in hospital in Beirut, recently released from imprisonment and torture by ISIS. The group come up against terrorists everywhere they go, then a very near tragedy. Whilst navigating all these life threatening situations, plus the senator's previously undiagnosed illness, the romantic element begins slowly, with the action, as always, and builds, until the end. All the books, like this one, are so well written, its impossible not to feel involved and sympathetic. I love them and just wish Kindle unlimited would let me keep them all and not have to give them back to get more!
Remi is the kind of woman I want to grow up to be. She’s confident, supremely capable, and she takes (and makes) no excuses. T-Rex is everything the best military book-boyfriends are made of: alpha and protective to his core, but there’s also a vulnerability or two that lets us in past his carefully constructed defenses. Together, this duo are unstoppable. This was a bit more of a cerebral story than I usually expect to see from the world of Iniquus. There are still plenty of fast action sequences, but there’s an almost thriller-style vibe underscoring them. There are multiple layers of mysteries going on throughout this book, and not all of them are neatly wrapped up by the end. I know the author will have more up her sleeve for us in the future and I can’t wait to see what it all is. I received a complimentary advanced copy of this book from the author.
Lynx may be my favorite Iniquus female character but I think Remi Taleb may be tied with her. I loved her. She is not only an acclaimed war correspondent but she has the focus, drive and discipline of a special operator. Learning to trust in her instincts has been honed over the years through experience. She's really something. Master Chief T-Rex Landry is the quintessential special forces operator and team leader. Stoic, a man of few words, seemingly humorless an no nonsense. Having lost the woman he loved since grade school four years ago he has not felt any attraction to nor wanted a woman since. Until, Remi that is. T-Rex describes her as being a Boy Scout, Mary Poppins and Mata Hari all rolled into one.The more time he spends with and around her the more fascinated he becomes. Now thrown together under harrowing circumstances start to grow into the us they are destined to be.
This story has a lot going on and it is all fascinating. I loved the two strong characters who fell in love and made it work,. The spin on politics and anti American sentiment in different countries was intriguing, especially with a Female senator and female students working to improve women’s roles and abilities globally. The addition of journalists and what they face was mind boggling, and has me curious to know more. This story was fast paced and well developed. It covered all the emotions and showed the multitude of ways that the military makes a difference. I was engaged and entertained from start to finish. Love the story and I was not expecting the Senators ending!
All of Fiona Quinn's books are Mesmerizing! And this one is no exception! This book like all of Fiona Quinn's books are Riveting and Enthralling! I have a hard time putting any of her books down. This book relates to things that are going on in the real world today in the Middle East! The characters are fascinating and the interactions between the main characters are quite charming and endearing! A strong female character that knows how take care of herself in dangerous situations with not only knowledge but with self defense too but not the martial arts kind! And a Alpha Male character who has not only compassion but has a hint of vulnerability. I truly can't wait to see what happens with this series and can say I'll be waiting with anticipation for the next book!
Luckily news correspondent Remi Taleb didn’t accompany her friends across the border. They were captured by ISIS. But she finagles a position on a politician’s select world tour that would allow her to take time to see her friend. But Remi’s definitely distracted by the leader of the senator’s security team, widower Lt. Colonel Josiah ‘T-Rex’ Landry.
Things don’t go as smoothly as planned, enemies of the United States and the politician want to use the tour to make a damning political statement. Remi’s ‘magic tunic’, wits and years of living and working in the world’s most dangerous locales helped Remi gain edge to help herself and the team as peril closes in. Meanwhile, Remi and T-Rex try to figure out if and how they could make a relationship work. Rating: 4.25stars
First, this book makes me glad I DIDN'T follow my dream of becoming a war correspondent and second, I am also happy that I knew nothing about the possibility of encephalitis when I had my bout with uterine cancer!
That said, Ms. Quinn made me feel like I was there, tagging along with Remi and there wasn't a false note in the whole book. I think other female journalists reading this will wholeheartedly agree. Oh yeah, and the romance tucked in there. I used to avoid "instalove" stories, but sometimes, it just seems right, like Remi and T-Rex. My only regret is that I read this in one sitting. But I am happy because I can wait a day or two and read it again!
Remi and T-Rex met when she was reporting on a trip a female senator made to escort young girls from war zones home. The girls had been participating in a robotics competition. T-Rex was an elite soldier who was on guard detail since the senator was heading to the Middle East. They had chemistry, surprising them both, he was a widower and hadn’t been interested in anyone else. She was also surprised by her attraction to him. One of the things I liked about the book is the information it gives people about the dangers that journalists face here and abroad in trying to keep the public informed.
Fiona does it again. Great story with believable action and reaction. Many of the incidence in the book were also mirrored it real life attacks that have occurred in similar action in war zones in the last 20 years. The reader can truly feel the terror that has happened in the middle East and other places where this has happened. Having read most of China's novels , I enjoyed references to some of the other characters and action in previous stories. Great Read!
T-Rex, Havoc and Ty with K9 Rory are picked for a close protection gig straight out of the mud. Along with them, a war correspondent managed to boot the White House press person due to ongoing journo issues overseas. It's for a Senator trying to raise awareness for female education and business. Ends up being a good thing. The Senator's party is attacked in England, then a devastating accident happens in Lebanon. Who is affected forever?
I've read all the published books so far and am thoroughly enjoying them. I love that the men are all strong, compassionate and caring men who are confident enough in themselves to be able to not only fall in love with, but support the strong capable women they fall in love with. Great escapist reading, and can't wait for the next books to be written and published.
Read in one sitting. Story line was indicative of how crazy the world is and how unpredictable. Journalists take chances every day to cover a story and although there are some unscrupulous ones out there most are honestly committed to their work. The unfortunate part is how their work is manipulated. Too many hero's in this story but in a good way. All about teamwork.
Remi was a fantastic character. She was strong and smart and resourceful. T Red was also great. I love how Fiona can easily bring up other characters and details from previous books. Lots of action and a touch of steam. I always look forward to the next book and I'm never disappointed. Loved it!
This book is full of danger, action, and suspense. The romance between T-Rex and Remi adds to the story. I love the characters. The appearances of the K9s added warm fuzzies. I really appreciated focusing on what some of the journalists around the world go through. This is a very enjoyable, exciting book!
You hooked me from the first chapter. Would have read this book in one sitting but life got in the way. I love every single book you have written. They just keep getting better. Can not wait for the next book. As always keep writing and I will keep reading. Thank you.
Excellent story, and I have always been a fan of T-Rex. He's a good man. The only reason that I gave four stars was the less than perfect editing which surprised me. Wrong choice of words that were enough to throw me off stride as well as missing words. I still recommend this book and series.
Another winner in this series. A glimpse into the world of the journalists who constantly go into the hot spots of the world to make sure we get the whole story. Add to this a really hot security operator and a life threatening situation and you’ll find this book hard to put down.
The storyline was interesting. Not something I would normally read, but i really enjoyed that the two teams could work together , journalist & Delta force
I could recommend the book to anyone who likes the drama of being over seas and cought up with wrong place wrong time
Two people who never expect to find a chance at love due to their jobs, goes through a disaster together and find love. I recommend this to anyone that loves reading about saving people! I gave it a 5 star, because it held my interest from the first page to the last!
Out an out gripping suspense. Romantic tension at its best from a master in the art. Could put it down but had to sleep, still managed to read this in 24 hours. Fiona has an amazing talent for mixing dramatic facts with her enthralling fiction.

This was an exciting read - great characters and an intriguing plot. The ending was a bit abrupt, though. I would have liked to see what happened to the two main characters after the rescue.
Another great book by Fiona Quinn. I loved this book and all the characters in this series. I can’t wait to read next book in series. I would recommend this book and all Fiona’s books.
