In Nicole Warner's exciting fantasy debut, "Grace", extraordinary circumstances force two young royals into an unknown destiny. As nobles of their respective kingdoms, their futures are set. A princess promised to a king. A lord burdened by expectation. In this historical fantasy, where the weight of royal duty would deny the desire of one's heart, Lord Eadred and Princess Anais find themselves caught between the two.
Eadred, cousin to the King of Tellenel, is tasked with teaching their language and customs to Anais, King Edmund's betrothed. He thinks it a punishment, little wishing to babysit a princess.
Both are sent to the coastal town of Arnil Wale where mystical and deadly forces soon intrude upon Eadred's life. With threats all around, exposing those he loves to danger, he faces impossible choices. Worse yet, his growing affinity for the Princess places them both in a different sort of peril.
Far from the Tellen court and the man she is to marry, their friendship quickly becomes the greatest risk of all.
"Heed our story, that which has been kept hidden for so long. As with all things, it has a beginning. Precious, innocent moments, bright with the promise of youth and a future filled with possibility. In our naivety, we were oblivious to the cost. Of all those difficult choices yet to be faced … or forced upon us."

This is not my usual genre of book, but last year saw me open my shelves up to some different styles and worlds. Then I found out Nicole is a secret side hussle author!? I'm down to give it a try!
And man, was this book a very excellent reading detour! I thoroughly enjoyed it, got extremely invested, said to myself numerous times 'if this was made into a TV series people would go NUTS for it!' and find myself jumping immediately into book #2.
As a life long lover of fantasy, I rate this right up there as one of the most charming and thoroughly wonderful reads I've had in a long time. Not a wasted word, always intriguing and very hard to put down. Great work Nicole! Can't wait for the rest of this engaging tale:)
I started this series on the recommendation of a friend and wasn’t disappointed. This book was an easy read that transported me into the world of a cast of characters that came to life and seemed so real to me. The first book in the series, Grace, is just like its title–a story filled with subtle romance set in a realm of where the pace of life is a little slower and the customs dictated by obligation and duty. I found myself getting lost in this world and enjoying it thoroughly.
The two central characters, told both in first person and alternating between the two, are fully fleshed out, flaws and all. Anais is a princess sent to another country to marry the King. Before she meets her future husband, by first impression a real scoundrel, she is sent to a seaside town in her future country to learn a new language with the help of the King’s handsome cousin, Eadred, and in no time at all the two have formed a strong friendship, underscored by a very much unstated attraction. More than that, I loved the innocence of it (at least I hope for the beginning of the tale) and the promise that in future books, Anais and Eadred might work against the odds stacked against them. If the events that happened at the conclusion of the book are anything to go by, it’s sure to be a rocky ride.
The fantasy elements to the story were intriguing as well. Not giving too much detail as yet, with an explosive finale that left me desperate for answers, I can see this is weaving its way towards an even bigger part of the story. And the ending definitely left me wanting more. I can’t wait to read the next book in the series and highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys great character development, true to life dialogue and complicated scenarios. And yes, of course, royalty and courtly pomp! A wonderful debut novel. Well done.
Grace is a gem of a novel and a captivating, page turning read.
The Three times blessed series promises to be an incredible journey., The characters are captivating and are skilfully given dimension by the author, so much so, that by the end of Grace I was invested in the future of the 2 main protagonists who, through extraordinary and unexpected encounters, have now formed a bond of unconditional friendship and affection. It saw me reaching with great anticipation for the second book in the series - Invocation.
Grace is very well crafted. We are transported to an inventive landscape & within it are interesting characters; royalty, courtiers, religious leaders, scholars and villagers. There is an old religion and faith in the three times blessed, there are Talismans, riddles to ponder and Yes, there is magic.. Portals are present & figures from other realms are merging on the periphery and crossing with life like force into the present and, just like characters from the real world, come to aid but also to hinder - even potentially destroy.
This skilful 1st book has set a solid foundation through a tale that is not simply an earthly romance but an enchanting quest..
I opened this book with a little trepidation, as fantasy romance is not a genre I would normally choose. As I entered the worlds of Lord Eadred & Princess Anais I felt as though I began to know them and became invested in their complicated circumstances. Nicole Warner, in her first novel, delicately unravels the personalities of each of the main characters in Book 1 of the Three Times Blessed Series – simply titled ‘Grace’. Nicole has the ability to draw you into the story by providing a descriptive narrative of the historical period and invites the reader to wonder what will happen next. Grace is an easy and entertaining read with just the right amount of everything to keep you turning the pages. The 2nd book in the series, Invocation is now high on my read list.
This is such a captivating and beautifully written book! Through its main characters Eadred and Anais who are both so young and naive you are taken back into a time in history where you can visualise the clothing worn and language spoken! You will experience the emotions these young people are feeling and you won’t be able to put the book down until you read the last chapter as you will hope the outcome will be just as you think it will be? Of course I am very excited about reading the next book in the series and can’t wait for it to be published! I thoroughly enjoyed my introduction to fantasy through this wonderful book so very much and highly recommend it to others!
Fantasy and romance are not normally the type of books I would read. However I have thoroughly enjoyed this book and looked forward to reading each night to find out more about the main characters and how their stories were unfolding. I felt transported to another world and loved the pure escapism this story provided. I am eagerly awaiting the next instalment in the series.
This was such a good read! I fell in love with this book, it’s characters and I couldn’t put it down. It was easy to get into, and by the end of chapter one I was already trying to guess what would happen to the characters. I also didn’t want it to end and can’t wait to read book 2!
A story I couldn't put down. This book is well written and captivating from start to finish. I cannot wait for the next book release in the series so I can continue the story of Princess Anais and Lord Eadred.
If you love young adult fantasy fiction this is a new series for you. Beautifully written and vividly imaginative, go on a journey with the two lead characters Lord Eadred and Princess Anais. I am looking forward to find out what happens next.......
A terrific first novel by this emerging author, a fine testament to her dedication to her craft. The story evolves as more that just a love story, with paranormal intrigue unveiling as the characters and story entwine.
I couldn’t wait to get the second book in the series. The beautiful relationship between Eadred and Anais is so captivating that I’m ravenously reading to find out what destiny will eventuate. The mysterious fantastical moments are definitely keeping me enthralled as the story unravels.
Fantastically written and endlessly gripping, I couldn’t put it down. Nicole had me hanging onto every word in her historical fantasy debut. I would absolutely recommend this to fans of the genre.
Grace is such a great read. I don't usually read novels but I couldn't put this book down. Loved the characters and the storyline. I am really looking forward to book number 2 and all the ones to follow. Congratulations Nicole, you have made me want to read books again.
