Hello, and welcome to my site. I'm Dakota, an author of erotic romance (think 50 Shades of Gray - but better) and paranormal erotica. And what exactly does that mean? Well, since I've always marched to the beat of different drum: it means that I get to take my unique life experiences - like putting around in the garage with my dad, or driving a train when I was ten, to create worlds where the heroines aren't necessarily June Clever, but are strong independent women who may stand on their own two feet, but long to submit to the right man. Whether it's two friends who realize there is more than friendship between them or the sexy alien who captures his unwilling slave's heart, sparks fly between them. My imagination has no bounds or at least none I've found yet!
Oh, the horror! I can't believe I'm starting 2010 with a 1-star read, but there you have it. I hope this isn't an ill omen of what awaits me this year!
To be fair, the book's premise was interesting and the cover was nice, but there was nothing good behind that. The writing was awfully bad and full of editing errors, the story didn't have a nice flow, all the characters were one-dimensional, the love scenes felt too clinical - seriously, Seth even taught Bella how to find her G-spot! - and far from sexy, the climax (of the story, not the H/h's lovemaking) involved bondage and rape, and the whole ending was just wrong. Ugh!
Not particularly exciting story of two childhood friends who grew up and finally realized that they could be more than friends. The hero is a bit of a player and the heroine is a virgin. Very vanilla read, despite the claims of BDSM content. It was bedroom bondage games, not really BDSM.
I wish I could give this book negative stars. It was beyond horrible. It was WAY longer then it should have been, the writing was corny & childish and even through that I could see, maybe, giving it two stars... Until the last few chapters, OMG, they made me ill.
*SPOILER* When the H's sick, crazy ex shows up to the engagment party because the "hero" invited her and the h was okay with it. After the twisted stuff the ex did to her I had to stop reading, my stomach was rolling.
Could've been a great story But the writing style .. was bad ... really really bad!!! Actually it was awful !!! That's why it's not getting any stars! sorry ... but i didn't like it at all...
