Poppy Bennet has always been a glass half full kind of witch. But lately something’s changed. Maybe it’s from hanging around with Stella and the gang. Or maybe she’s just tired of being nice all the time. Even though Stella’s scheme is crazy, Poppy's excited at the thought of being on a reality dating show. And the handsome bachelor doesn’t hurt, either. She wants to help her friend and have some fun. Will they solve the mystery? Will she be the perfect match for the bachelor? Will she find the part of herself that’s been missing? Find out in book three of Enchantingly Yours: Season One.
Author's Note: This series is an experiment in perspective and human nature. I’ve been wanting to explore the idea of how people experience things differently, so I decided to write four books about the same series of events but from different perspectives. Each book is written from a different character’s point of view and gives more back story, plus a deeper understanding of who they are and how they see things. The timelines are the same and the major events are the same, starting with Stella asking them all to participate in a dating reality show, and ending with their epilogues after the show has ended. But each character’s journey is uniquely her own. Each book is a stand-alone story with its own mini-mystery, and each main character has her own happily ever after. There are hints and clues throughout the earlier books, but you won’t know how it all ends until the final book in the series. While this is unconventional, I believe there are readers who will find this interesting and exciting. Join me on this unique journey and experience the magic and mystery of human nature!
Michelle has always loved to write and create imaginary worlds. She loves to make people laugh and feel better. Her stories have characters we all know or wish we knew. They find themselves in familiar but dangerous situations and have to find their way out. Men are strong, but loving. Women are smart, funny and strong. They love with all their hearts-family, life, each other. But they tend to get themselves into trouble, and half the fun is wondering how they'll get out of the next jam! Michelle writes for Sweet Promise Press and also self-publishes. You can find her books on Amazon!
This time we get to see events from Poppy’s point of view. And it’s quickly easy to see that there’s even more going on than we’d previously been shown. This optimist has such a sunny personality, that even through words I was caught up in her hopeful cheerfulness. But I also loved seeing that she’s just as prone to the more negative feelings as the rest of us. That made her character all the more real for me. Now that we’ve seen three sides of the puzzle, I’m dying to know all about Raven’s experiences. I received a complimentary copy of this book through Booksprout.
Although I never watch reality TV shows, this is a clever concept for basing several books from the various perspectives. Four wealthy rich friends, Stella, Fiona, Raven and Poppy, are contestants on a reality show, “The Catch of a Lifetime”, featuring a wealthy bachelor as the prize. The mystery to be figured out is why Stella’s Marwood Manor family home was taken from them many years ago. The show takes place right there in the manor to make it accessible for gathering clues.
This particular version of the story is from Poppy Bennet’s perspective. Poppy is a “half-glass-full” kind of witch who always looks on the bright side of things. Chadwick is the wealthy prize Poppy would be delighted to win. But when the stage for the photo shoot collapses on Poppy and traps her underneath, she meets the kind paramedic Matt who talks to her and guides her through what he and the police are doing to get her out. She couldn’t see him, but his words kept her calm. When she was pulled out from under the stage, Matt was as handsome as she had imagined him to be. And he even gave her his phone number, just so she could call him and let him know how she was going.
This time, will they solve the mystery? Will Poppy find what she needs in her life? Who stole the manor and jewels from Stella’s family? They keep getting closer to the answer. Grab your copy and see if a solution is imminent!
Our heroine is tired of doing the same old thing, but then change brings its own challenges. Is she up to the challenge?
This is book three of the series, but while it is linked to the previous stories (same group, different heroine) it works just fine as a standalone. You can enjoy it as part of the series or on its own merits.
This is a cozy witch mystery with a touch of romance. The story is well written and easy to read and filled with many of the standard tropes of the genre. We get a diverse cast of characters with some very intriguing quirks. It took a couple of books to figure out the story approach, but now I get it and am really enjoying seeing the same basic story from different perspectives. Don't worry about it being dull as our heroine brings a completely new viewpoint and there are still plenty of twists, turns and differences to keep things interesting. Overall, the story is highly entertaining and I am definitely looking forward to the next (and presumably final) book in the series.
Highly recommended

Poppy is the third of four friends who are trying to figure out who stole the family mansion and jewels from Stella and her family years ago. While looking for clues, the girls are part of a dating reality show and during her part a stage collapses and she gets trapped. Her future might include a handsome EMT that comes to her aid instead of the bachelor they are vying for in the show. The characters are fun and so different. The storyline shows each girl going through the same time period and how each one views what is going on. Very interesting and eye opening to read as we hardly ever think about how someone else views the same thing we are going through. The proverbial - other half of the story kind of thing. Well done.
