Melissa A. Craven (the "A" stands for Ann—in case you were wondering) was born near Atlanta, Georgia, but moved to Cleveland, Ohio at the age of seventeen. She still thinks of Cleveland as home, so it was only natural for Emerge to take place there. Today, she is back in Atlanta—for some reason she can't seem to stay away from the ungodly heat that makes her long for things like "lake effect snow" and wind that will knock you flat. Melissa decided a long time ago that the “life checklist” everyone else was clutching so tightly in their fists, just wasn’t for her. She does everything backwards because she is weird like that, but then, she is an artist and artists are notoriously "unique" and "quirky." She is an avid student of art and design, and received her Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of West Georgia in 2009. She worked as an interior designer for several years, but she's always thought she might like to be a writer when she grows up. In her spare time, if she has any, she enjoys shopping for derelict furniture she refinishes to exercise the interior design part of her brain.
Now it’s Graham and Chloe, and at first, I was a bit put off on the switch again, but ultimately the way Melissa Craven blends these books together is masterful and so enjoyable to read, once I got over myself, lol. It’s actually interesting and nice to see this world through multiple lenses, so I won’t fault Ms. Craven for her choices, and just agree that she knows what I don’t and I’m just along for the ride. I can handle that.
5 ⭐️s= Perfect story, exciting, engrossing, well developed complex characters, solid plot with few to no holes, descriptive environments and place settings, great mystery elements, realistic dialogue, believable reactions and behaviors, loved this story so much I’d buy it.
4 ⭐️s= Great story, highly entertaining and enjoyable, exciting storyline, well developed characters and settings, a few discrepancies but nothing that can’t be overlooked. Believable actions and reactions, realistic dialogue, a book I would consider buying.
3 ⭐️s= Good but not great story, noticeable discrepancies, grammatical and or spelling errors, undeveloped characters or unbelievable behaviors but still readable. Nothing majorly wrong with the story, just not interesting enough for me to continue. Would not buy the book.
2 ⭐️s= Not offended by the story, but not interested enough to finish. Unbelievable characters, poor writing, many mistakes, big holes or discrepancies, many spelling or grammatical errors, characters not believable, unlikeable or TSTL.
1 ⭐️= Offensive, extremely poor writing, horrible characters, victimization, gaslighting, blatant abuse, unnecessary violence, child endangerment, or any other highly objectionable behaviors by Main characters. Would never buy this book, and do not recommend it to anyone.

I am a reader who usually reads romances with a good amount of steam, this is not one of those books but it is so amazing that I don’t care. I have been obsessed with this series since I discovered it a few years ago & it has some of the most amazing writing I have ever found.
Melissa A Craven has created a whole Immortal society that the humans are complete ignorant of. The previous books in this series have had so many twists and turns & book 6 is the same. Books 4-6 all take place during the same timeframe in the story, but are told from different points of view. Each book builds on the previous & provides more insight to what is going on in the Immortal world. And let me tell you, a lot is going on. That ending.... I need more!
Runaway is told from the point of view of Graham, a young immortal who has a gift for technology, and Chloe, who is both a warrior and a scholar. Both characters have taken a path that they had not expected to be on, but I love how each of their stories develop.
I cannot say enough good things about this book and the rest of the series. Melissa A Craven is such an amazing author and my mind is completely blown by each book. If you haven’t started this series now is the time! There is only one book left & I cannot wait for the last story to see how things turn out for my favorite characters.
This book is everything. I've waiting so long for it and worried I'd miss Allie and Aidan, but Craven does an amazing job with each side book making us fall in love with different characters we'd only known in passing before. Graham is just precious and I want to squeeze him. Chloe is probably my favorite of the women--including Allie. I loved her so much. She's feisty and strong but also vulnerable. my heart kept breaking for her.
The way these stories weave together is truly incredible and I can't wait until the final book.
It was bloody marvelous. This is said to be a complex series with lots of characters and lots of subplots going on. If that’s true, I didn’t notice. All I can say it’s a great fantasy adventure to become totally immersed in. Plenty of action and intrigue for everyone. Seriously, you’d be hard pressed to find a better and more enjoyable read.
Can’t wait for the next and, sadly, last book. I will miss all the characters so much.
I am really enjoying this series. Only thing, went into it thinking it was complete :(. Oh well. I think it’s close. Was a little unhappy this didn’t continue straight from last book, but, learned a lot of the story. A lot of questions I had been having were answered. Still more, of course, but as it should be. Was interesting getting to see the other characters, but really looking forward to getting back to Allie and Aidan. I do wish he wasn’t so mopey. That’s kind of old. She has it in her mind that she isn’t his forever, and she still needs to think more like an immortal. True patience is needed, from him and Chloe. They are coming across as really immature. I really love the concept of this story. It’s so cool.
Chloe is the star this time as she tries to recover from the loss of her mother. Graham thought his live would be different. Both are thrown into a life that they did not expect or plan for. It was a wild and crazy story that just kept me glued to the end to see what would be revealed and what surprises were in store. Great character and a story that was good. Loved it.
Every inch of the characters, plot lines, arcs and pitfalls roped you in from the first word. I have fallen in love over and over again with every character in this book and Chole and Graham are no exception. Another great book in the series. I can't stop reading.

Absolutely Fantastic. I just loved Chole and Graham's story in this book. It explains a lot more of Chole's powers and Graham's powers. I love how they learn to become more independent away from the family and grow into their powers.

For the first couple of chapters, I was mentally tapping my foot and being impatient for another Allie showdown. I was wrong. I am so glad we have this part of the story, the fantastic new characters, and bonus points to Ms. Craven for giving us a dragon.
This was such a great in between explanation and build up to the final book! So glad that Chloe finally went back to her family & together they were able to figure things out. Can’t wait for the final book!!
This series is captivating. It is filled with rich characters and deep, well thought out plots. I binge read this series, I couldn't stop and didn't want the story to end. I can't wait for the next book!
This book is about Chloe and the way she deal with her pain. The path she choose is difficult but in the end is full of joy. But she knows soon her choices will become more hard like her growing power.
