Danielle Allen does it again! This book was kind of like a truffle: rich, delicious, to be devoured in a bite or two. I read my copy all at once and I could probably read it again right now.
Continuum is a super sweet, VERY sexy, semi-second-chance romance that's 90% banter and chemistry, 10% themes of grief, loss, healing, and fate. I loved how ghosts, both literal and psychological, were a recurring theme that brought the MCs together. I also loved how their relationship was fated and mushy and essentially uncomplicated, in that they were meant to be together and neither of them (once they were grown at least) bothered messing around.
If you want a book that will give you ALL THE FEELS, ALL THE HEAT, but also some unexpected tears and thoughtful moments, this is the one!

This was a cute romance between two people who missed the chance to be together in college but connect years later. Aisha tutored Kwame and was going to make a move when Kwame was finally single at the end of their senior year. But Kwame messed things up and the two went their separate ways. Now, they run into each other at a club and spend every moment of the next few days together. I usually don't love romances that take place over a day or two for the entire book, so I wasn't the biggest fan of the timeline of this book. I wanted to see them over a longer course of time. I'm also someone who loves angst and this one was so low angst because there was nothing that was driving them apart. There were a few small things, but nothing seriously stopping them, so I wasn't as invested in how they would get their HEA. I just wanted a little more angst in this one!

A great short friends to lovers romance. Kwame and Aisha meet again after sixteen years. She had a crush on him during college and never told him. This time around they spent a weekend together.
I loved Aisha and her girls Italy, Tara and Angel. So much fun dialogue between them.
The chemistry between Kwame and Aisha was hot as heck. He planned a whole day for them. It got a little boring at times still the connection was palpable and why I kept on enjoying it.

- This is the first book I’ve read by this author and I’m actually in LOVE with how much dialogue is in her books!!! I’m definitely going to be picking up more asap because her writing and banter literally feels so real. This book could have easily been a 4.5 star book if I had been able to see them over a long period of time. I neeed a part two of this!!
- The dates in this book are absolutely ELITE!!!! I was literally kicking my feet and giggling while reading this because it was so stinking cute. Could have done without some of the spice, but I do love that their connection was so deep that it literally made me fall in love with them together. The quote probability is the likelihood of something to happen made me absolutely SWOON!!
- I love that there wasn’t any unnecessary drama, but there were still little chapter cliffhangers that made me want to jump into the next chapter. Love love loved this one!!

A very-very-very fun romance / erotica story. Second chances, people doing cheesy stuff & going ga-ga over each other 16 years after they first met. Angels, literally, making a point to guide some star-crossed people to finally get into a proper couple and stop wasting time dating the wrong people.

Wow! It’s hard for me to believe that this is my first book by this author because I’ve seen so many rave reviews for her work that I was convinced that surely I had read her before. Apparently, I have not and that has been a mistake because this first book is everything everyone who has ever recommended her to me has ever said- immensely sexy and emotional and affirming and just plain gorgeous.
The premise is that years ago whilst still in college, Aisha had a massive crush on the guy she tutored in Statistics, Kwame, but missed out on her chance to shoot her shot. Sixteen years later, now a successful HR entrepreneur, she runs into her college crush by chance (or more accurately metaphysical happenstance) and they hit it off.
I wish I could express how much I loved both main characters (Aisha and Kwame) in this book and how well-nuanced and perfectly executed the entire novella is. This is on the surface an incredibly spicy erotic romance but it touches on themes like being Black in white corporate America and playing that game, casual racism and fatphobia, and grief and healing, and consent, and dating in your late 30s without being about any of those things. Because this is a book about love and timing and the power of a little magic when things are just meant to be. This was as cute as it was grown and sexy and it’s a perfect soul soothing read to relax with. The only reason I’m taking away half a star is just that I wish we had gotten a little more of Kwame and Aisha’s relationship outside the bedroom and seen them a little more in real life and out of the whirlwind weekend hook up. I wanted to see more of them with their friends. I wanted to know them as people outside the intimacy of their weekend hook up. I wanted MORE!!!! But then that won’t have been this beautiful low-conflict novella- that would have been a different book. That said, there is no denying this is an amazing read and I highly highly recommend it.

Kwame and Aisha had good communication skills which I love to see in couples. Plus. The sexual chemistry was off the chain. If you’re in the mood for a fun, flirty, steamy and fast read look no further.

That quote has to be my favorite in this book. I think when the quote was spoken spoke to my soul the most Lol! Aisha tutored Kwame in college and always had a crush on him. She missed the opportunity while in college to express her true feelings, but the opportunity presented itself when they meet 16 years later. I cannot leave out the fact that Aisha is a confident and sexy PLUS SIZE queen. She owns it and definitely isn’t threatened by anyone. I think my favorite about this book is that the MC’s were older. It’s always a plus to get that relatable representation on dating in your late 30’s .The chemistry between Aisha and Kwame is AMAZING! It felt real and authentic. It is like 16 years hasn’t passed. They picked up that friendly banter, encouragement and support like it never left. When they found out that the feelings they had for each other was mutual, things got Adorable! I loved them flirting and being all mushy. I really believed in their connection and rooted for them to make this relationship work beyond the weekend they shared. The friendship dynamics in this book worked for me. I loved how easy-going and fun their relationship is. The group chats cracked me up. Another thing I liked was the conversation about not wanting children. Everyone’s happy ever after doesn’t include children and it needs to be spoken about more in romance novels. This book is the epitome of “Perfect Timing”. This book shows that when the time is right and the universe is in order , things really do fall together. This story is sweet, romantic, sexy and uncomplicated. You should read it. If you believe in second chances, this is for you.

Is this my favorite Danielle Allen book? Yes. Will I be looking for my Kwame? Also, yes.
I didn't think I wanted a college/adult Black romance until I stumbled upon Kwame and Aisha. College Kwame was fine, suave, and smooth and just everything I need in a Black man in his 20s. Within 8 pages of this book, I was already blushing and sweating. However, there was some slight miscommunication that jacked the whole thing but at least it was in the beginning and not the end.
Fast forward, we are good and grown. Life has happened. However, some times we are fated to meet some people from our past again. Aisha runs into Kwame at a bar and they hit it off like they haven't been separated for over a decade. Sparks fly and now make plans for a whole day together! The romance ensues and we see sexual tension in the air. Also, the library....THE LIBRARY. Lord have mercy. Kwame knew how to communicate the draws off of Aisha. He was always a gentleman and kind to Aisha. College Aisha reminds me a lot myself now and I hope to grow into the woman she grew into. Everything about them was absolutely divine and that ending?? Spectacular. Your loved ones are never far.

I absolutely loved this book. Kwame and Aisha definitely set the bar so high for Danielle characters that they blew my mind! The sex scenes was top tier!! Great character development, editing and great flow from beginning to end. I read so many parts that made me laugh out loud and blush I know my whole face tired of me lol. I HIGHLY recommend this book

Another amazing work by Ms. Allen! This read gave me all the feels, and then some! Timing, fate, second chances, do overs and love! This book was all that! Kwame and Aisha were destined from the start. That chance encounter made them both relive their college days together, and wonder "what if" they had done things differently. Spoke up on their feelings, acted on them, where would their lives be? They have now to be present, and make good on all the things they weren't able to do then; and boy did they! That weekend they spent together was hot and steamy! What a love story! Great job!👍👍👍

Well, here we are with Danielle Allen’s latest book. A random encounter. A second chance. What do you do? Continuum is not only hot (erotic), it also tugs at your heart. Ms. Allen has proven again why she is a “go to” author for me. She NEVER disappoints!

In college, Aisha tutored Kwame but had one regret, that she never revealed her deep feelings for him. Now 16 years later they meet up, and Kwame has a confession of his own.
Although I enjoyed this story, especially how Aisha put Eli's groupies in check, the profanity soon became tedious and annoying.

This was okay. I didn’t really enjoy it as much as I thought I would. It was wayyy too fast paced and short for me to really get into. I get that they had already met in college but I didn’t really believe the insta love after all that time. It was kinda cringey, the things that he would say and how they decided they loved each other.

Thoughts: This is my second time reading this book, and i didn't think it could get any better BUT IT DID! First of all, I love Kwame and thats baby daddy and top book boyfriend for life! But second i really loved the dynamic of these two and this relationship. Can we talk about this book is so good in so many ways. I feel like it showed you what you think you want in a partner vs what you need in a partner. Jordan was what Aisha thought she wanted, but as we see KAWME WAS THAT DAMN MAN. But also we could see how much he really cared about Aisha by the way he responded to her grief! Also theres a lil magical realism element to this story and i really loved it! I loved getting to see grown ass adults, they both were in the their late 30s, fallin’ in love and doing the damn thing! I wish we got an epilogue though, because i want to know what happened after the end of the book! Okay okay okay, NOW THE SPICE!? TOP TIER! MS ALLEN!? DANIELLE!? She knows how to write some damn spice chileeee! Kwame is something else! I am a fan of the library scene through and through but chile that first night together!? 🥵

Whewwwwwww🥵🥵🥵 hot, sexy, spicyyyyyy!!!! First of all, Kwame went to therapy okay!? That alone checked off several boxes for me because who doesn't love a man who's actively working to get his ish together. Second, if you read this and didn't squirm and quiver during those scenes I'm judging you😏 third, the man said, let me know what time to book your flight and I said babyyyyyyyy....where are the Kwame's of the real world!??? Whewwww. Aisha and Kwame's connection was everything. To describe this as chemistry would be an understatement. This one was quick and spicy and I loved it!

READ THIS NOW!! This book will make you feel all kinds of emotions. There were parts that made me laugh, parts that made sad, and parts that made me scream by how spicyyyy this book is, but overall I was rooting for Kwame and Aisha the entire time because their relationship truly showed that if someone is meant for you, then you’ll be together no matter what life may throw your way. Also, we need to know…Angel is that you girl?! 👀

Character development, engaging storyline and sexy love scenes are all the components that this author consistently displays in her works. Kwame was everything and I love Aisha. The two of them together was explosive and I love the spiritual connection even through her friend Angel! This author is one of my one-click authors with no hesitation. Another one for the books, a masterpiece!

When I tell you I devoured this story!! WHEW!! My heart and my loins still ain't over it!! Continuum played in my mind like a sexy rom com movie, it is equals parts smart, funny, delicious and romantic.
All I know is that Kwame Mitchell can get it.....he's so delectable, intelligent, kind, respectful and attentive but he is also a passionate dirty talker that will completely wreck you in the bedroom.

Danielle Allen keeps impressing me with her writing. Though Continuum is the third book I've read from her, she is quickly becoming my favorite author. This is so far my favorite.
This story was everything. It had one of my favorite tropes, second-chance-romance, and two likable main characters. Kwame and Aisha were meant for each other. I loved them individually and together. Their story was well-written and captivating. I could've read this in one sitting had I started earlier in the day.
Continuum was swoon worthy, extremely steamy, and down right romantic. There wasn't anything I disliked about the story. Some will say it was short, I think the length was just right. Danielle dove right in and kept giving us what we wanted until the very last page.
Danielle Allen keeps impressing me with her writing. Though Continuum is the third book I've read from her, she is quickly becoming my favorite author. This is so far my favorite.
This story was everything. It had one of my favorite tropes, second-chance-romance, and two likable main characters. Kwame and Aisha were meant for each other. I loved them individually and together. Their story was well-written and captivating. I could've read this in one sitting had I started earlier in the day.

A second chance to make that move
What I loved about this book was the growth in the characters. I love when I see people make better choices when they get a second chance.
Kwame and Aisha met in college when Aisha tutored him for statistics. Youth, insecurities and fear kept them for saying or doing anything about their attraction to each other.
16 years later, Kwame and Aisha run into each other at a bar and now they are both older, wiser and more confident to ask for what they want from each other. So let the sexy fun times begin.
The writing was steady and low angst but engaging. I found the story easy to get wrapped up in and the main characters really likable. Their chemistry and easy rapport with each other made this story a quick fun read.
I took off a fraction because of the whole Angel part. I didn’t feel like it was well done and it didn’t seem necessary in order to feel a connection to the blue streak friend nor to feel like there was a guardian Angel. That aspect of the story wasn’t well done for me.
The story stood strong without that and it didn’t make the story memorable. It just dabbled into a supernatural link. The college connection was sufficient to bring Kwame and Aisha together.
I hope there is an epilogue where Kwame gives the Winston family the boot.

Fast-paced, smutty, and overwhelming even for our narrator/MC.
I think a bit more could’ve been developed in the emotional connection, especially since every deep or meaningful conversation got cut short because of how egregiously horny this couple was.
Don’t get me wrong…this book is hot. I just got thrown off when the conversations about grief were immediately followed up with descriptions of a certain *something* throbbing.
I did, however, still very much enjoyed how the author played with fate and how those we’ve lost guide us forward. I thought that was really lovely.

it’s fate
Baby, when your destiny is calling, you have to answer. I kept hearing how amazing this book was on social media and the people were right. Kramer and Aisha were made for each other and after almost 2 decades of being separated, fate (and a well timed ghost) push them together once again. The connection was there, the romance was impeccable, and the sex scenes were out of this world. Perfection!
