A gritty short story introducing the gripping thriller series featuring rogue British Intelligence Agent Kenzie Marsh, from Amazon #1 bestselling author Roy Robson.MURDERKenzie Marsh has a safe and stable existence. But the shocking death of her son shatters her world. CHAOS Amid the chaos, Kenzie tries to put her life back together. REVENGEA chance meeting leads her to her son's killer. As she struggles with her conscience, will her need for retribution take her on a path from which she may never escape?
Roy Robson was born in southeast London, in the UK. He has worked on a market stall, as a squash coach, on a factory assembly line and as a youth support worker. He eventually trained in the dark art of computer programming and worked for many years in the City of London, designing systems to track the flow of money around the world. He will confess to this being an almost impossible task.
He presently writes two series.
The Kenzie Marsh books involve a detective who has hit rock bottom after the death of her son and the collapse of her marriage. She is recruited by British Intelligence on a secret mission where she discovers a conspiracy so shocking it threatens not only her life, but the lives of everybody she knows.
The bestselling London Large series - which he co-authors with his brother Garry - features the relentless force of nature that is DI Harry 'H' Hawkins. As the tide of criminal gangs that flood London increases, Harry will stop at nothing to protect those he loves and do everything in his power to keep his city halfway civilised.
Roy has two daughters and currently lives in Bromley with his wife.
Gives us the story behind Kenzie who she is and what motivated her. A line between following the rules and being a vigilante, on her job. Good tense plot of the life of Kenzie..I enjoyed Given ARC for my voluntary review and honest opinion
London, England. DI Jack Slaughter (BMF/partner) called/woke up Kenzie Marsh. Domestic killing, Julia Diamond (GF) lost it & stabbed her partner Adrian Crompton to death. They met with Julia & Mrs. Victoria Smythe. Gerrard St., London, England Chinatown. DI Paul Simmonds took the mugging victim Mrs. Lily Jenkins statement.

An awesome book cover, great font & writing style. A very professionally written Murder mystery book. It was quite easy for me to read/follow from start/finish & never a dull moment. There were no grammar/typo errors, nor any repetitive or out of line sequence sentences. Lots of exciting scenarios, with several twists/turns & a huge description list of unique characters, settings, facts etc. to keep track of. This could also make another great Murder mystery movie, or better yet a mini-TV series. It was just OK for me so I will still rate it at 4/5 stars.

I really enjoyed Silent Murder (The Kenzie Marsh Chronicles) by Roy Robson.
This is the prequel to Kenzie Marsh Chronicles and introduces D.I. Kenzie Marsh and her partner in crime D.I. Jack Slaughter who is also a good friend.
Kenzie receives a phone call in the middle of the night from Jack which involves a domestic killing. Before she leaves home she reminds her hubby to ensure their son Stephen has breakfast before going to school and that he had to pick up Stephen as he was going to his friend's house after school.
It seemed just like any other day but this day in particular was going to change both their lives as three months later Kenzie's hubby was like a shell to his former self as a darkness consumed him and they were drifting apart after their son was stabbed to death.
Who would envisage a greedy pickpocket Teddy Charmer would turn Kenzie and her hubby's lives into turmoil.
Revenge was not on Kenzie's mind as she knocks on Teddy Charmer's door but she wanted answers but he was high on drugs and she would never get closure mentally but physically she would.
Roy Robson's new series featuring Kenzie Marsh is full of tense action and this short story gives a glimpse of what the longer full novel Silent Scream has to offer. This story is a prequel to events that are mentioned during the course of the other book. I enjoyed reading the full novel and was happy when this short story came along. It fills in the 'blanks' of how Kenzie became who she is and why. This story itself is not just a feeder to the novel and the series though. Yes. it's a great way to get an intro into the character and the series but it's also a fun read. It's short but you never feel like it's lacking for it. Overall, a fun entertaining read that takes just a few minutes and may just get you hooked.
Kenzie Marsh is a London police inspector. Julia Diamond has called for help--her boyfriend has been stabbed. Kenzie has been called to the scene. Things may not be obvious but it is easy to jump to conclusions.
Teddy Charmer is a professional 25-year-old thief who has never been arrested. He is proficient at his craft.
Kenzie runs across Julia in yet another domestic dispute and recognizes an item that was reported stolen.
An investigator who is good at her job, Kenzie takes pictures and draws conclusions.
Would you follow protocol or would you do more? The next story is Silent Whisper. This series is off to a strong start.
Silent Murder is the back story for the Robsons's new series heroine Kenzie Marsh. It's a short story, which only made me want MORE, but in true Robson tradition, it features a main character who walks, and sometimes crosses, the line between good cop and vigilante. It's not a pleasant story, but then, very little of the Harry Hawkins series was either. What it is, is a really good police story and a great launch to the new Kenzie Marsh series. I loved it.
If you enjoy reading books with lots of action and mystery and a relentless detective looking for the culprit of her son's murder, you'll enjoy reading this book. It's fast-paced and describes the anger and pain (without being mushy) one feels when someone is brutally taken from this life. Relatable characters and situations. Very interesting and easy to read. I downloaded a free copy of this book and this is my honest review.
A life totally turned upside down. A marriage dashed upon the rocks. It's a brutal introduction that the author gives us to Kenzie Marsh. You will want her to feel better. You'll want her life to turn around. What direction will she go when all is finished? Definitely a gripping story from the start to the finish.
A short story introducing the character. A qualified success, I'd have to say - not entirely sure if the plot is plausible enough... which is an unfair comment, of course.
Almost half the low page count is an extract from a book in the main series.
Silent Scream, #1 - I read this book after SW but that did not take away from the story. I had read Silent Murder, the prequel, which I recommend as a must, and was expecting more in the lines of the London Large Series. While Harry is my favorite character in one of my all-time favorite series , Kensie can hold her own, so do not expect LL since it is an apples to oranges comparison. While well written and well thought out, this series is milder in the writing style. This series is still interesting, immersing and hard to put down. This book is complete but there's more to the story. No cliffhanger. 4*
Silent Whispers, #2 - I missed Silent Scream but it did not matter when reading SW. As much as starting this series from the prequel Silent Murder, instead of SM I quickly became immersed in the story. Another Robson success, which means well written and well thought out storylines with good characters and good dialogues.
What is also successful are the technical subjects, too. We are well on our way to this sick world if we cannot stop it. The technology is here. The spyware on phones have been around, on any electronics actually. Good action throughout the story. The pace picks up and does not slow down. While there is third book, this is not a cliffhanger. 4*
Silent Vengeance, #3 - The finale. Interesting. Intense. Just as with the previous books of this series the story lines, old and new, are interesting and immersing making it difficult to stop reading. The characters run the gamut from troubled to down right evil, and most of the baddies equate themselves to gods. The pagans get their stuff handed to them by Kenzie and crew. Kenzie's character has done a lot of growth throughout the series and in this book she has gone full circle. 5*
Silent Murder, Kenzie Marsh Series short - An interesting introduction to a new series from Robson already famous along with his brother Garry for the London Large Series, which are on my top five list of favorite reads. If you are expecting a female Harry, don't. The writing style is a bit milder, an apple to oranges comparison, but just as well told. this is a sad story but there is a touch of Harry in the solution. 4*
Silent Scream is the first book of the Kenzie Marsh series and has three sample chapters following Silent Murder. There was not enough for me to sink my teeth into, but I do want to read all the books. The different writing style continues so the pace is slower, and the dialog is clean. Forget Harry and enjoy a new batch of reads from Robson. Harry will be a tough act to follow but I have a feeling this series will still be an interesting ride. Will rate this book when I finish the complete novel.
Virtual Shadows - A collection of short stories that are well written, interesting, intriguing, immersing and intense. Do not expect Harry anywhere between these pages. Talented author writing a mix of genres. Source: The author, ARC. 5* Virtually Lost - Short but complete. 5* Threads - What a trip this intriguing and intense short is in just a few pages. 5* The Pledge - Another example of Beware. Words and actions don't match. 4* Chuckle Matterhorn’s Last Laugh - A warning, Beware. 4* Wonderland - A bit of Wutan influence. 4* Bits and Pieces - Short but complete. 4* The Watchers - I found this story funny in a way. 4* Virtual Shadows end.
This is a short novel depicting the prequel to the later Kenzie Marsh books. Kenzie Marsh a police officer now has to deal with the loss of her son, the marriage on the rocks and things going from bad to worse. Just a quick read leading to the introduction of the 2 main characters in the later books.
