He thought they were destined to be together – until a tragedy tore them apart.
Cade swore he’d never return to his backwater hometown. Ever since his sister was murdered and his relationship with Tally fell apart, there were too many painful memories there to face.
But with a badly-timed knee injury putting him out of combat duty, he’s left with no choice but to go crawling back and face his demons.
Tally wrestles with the guilt of her best friend’s death. If only she had been there, instead of sneaking off to indulge her hidden romance with Cade, then she might not have died.
But now Cade is back in town, and the sight of him brings back a flood of emotions that she thought she’d long-since buried.
When the murders return right as Cade steps back into her life, the pair are drawn into a hair-raising search to find the killer and uncover the truth behind what happened all those years ago – and along the way, they must fight the simmering attraction that threatens to reignite the spark they used to share.
With the paranoia mounting and the killer drawing ever-closer, it seems like the past is returning to haunt them. With time running out, can Cade and Tally catch the culprit and realize the love between them that never died? Or will their shot at a second chance end in tragedy once again?

I thought I'd really enjoy this story. It was just OK. A mystery and romance is what I expected. This fell short on both counts. Add to that all the spelling errors and you have a book that could have been written by a high school student Sorry high schoolers, I've just insulted you. This was a very underdeveloped series. Why was this a series, anyway? It could have been combined into one book. Luckily, I got these for free on Kindle Unlimited, and I didn't have to dish out any more money after each cliff hanger. I finished this "series" quickly as I, basically, skimmed through most of it. With a well-written book the language captivates you. Here, this isn't the case.
Wow. Lots happening. I often find it hard to keep with a story when there is so much going on, lots of characters, and it comes in a number of short sections that end with cliffhangers. I think that, if read as a complete book in one sitting, my rating would be higher. This is a good story. Who is a friend? People aren’t always how we think they are. Lots of surprises here, with the prospect of rekindling a former romance, coming to terms with the past, and even a HEA (albeit perhaps rather bitter sweet)? I received this book as an arc and this review is entirely voluntary.
i read this book as part of an arc program. This is the fifth part of this series. In this book, Cade is determined to find Tally and save her from the killer. Cade has found evidence that Tally was the target all along and he vows to rescue her. This is the conclusion to this series. I think Tally and Cade really loved each other and belonged together. This was a good end to this series. Well done.
Cade, Mathew, and Belinda are deep in the search for Tally. When police stop the van Tally is tied up in, she thinks she might be rescued until Todd threatens to kill the cop. Cade and his friends get caught in the basement of Todd’s house after he returns home. Kayla has finished this series with another suspenseful book.
I received a copy of this book as an ARC Reviewer and am giving my honest opinion.
What a great series. Tally kidnapped by someone she trusted. Cade, Matthew and Belinda coming across the horrible evidence of not only the murders. But the years of photos taken of Tally why he stalked her. But because of careless driving the tyrant was slowly being cornered.

I received this series as an ARC for my honest opinion. I am glad I received the whole series at one time as each book in the series is very short. I wish it was written as one book as the recapping as you start each book was a bit boring. The story itself was quite good and the romance and suspense kept me highly entertained. I would recommend if you like quick short stories.
Wow! What a fantastic ending to the series. I could not anticipate how things would turn out and how Tally would be freed. I devoured it on the edge of my seat. There was justice and a HEA. I can’t wait to see what Kayla writes next.
