He thought they were destined to be together – until a tragedy tore them apart.
Cade swore he’d never return to his backwater hometown. Ever since his sister was murdered and his relationship with Tally fell apart, there were too many painful memories there to face.
But with a badly-timed knee injury putting him out of combat duty, he’s left with no choice but to go crawling back and face his demons.
Tally wrestles with the guilt of her best friend’s death. If only she had been there, instead of sneaking off to indulge her hidden romance with Cade, then she might not have died.
But now Cade is back in town, and the sight of him brings back a flood of emotions that she thought she’d long-since buried.
When the murders return right as Cade steps back into her life, the pair are drawn into a hair-raising search to find the killer and uncover the truth behind what happened all those years ago – and along the way, they must fight the simmering attraction that threatens to reignite the spark they used to share.
With the paranoia mounting and the killer drawing ever-closer, it seems like the past is returning to haunt them. With time running out, can Cade and Tally catch the culprit and realize the love between them that never died? Or will their shot at a second chance end in tragedy once again?

i read this book as part of an arc program. This is the third part of the series. In this book, Cade is feeling bad about sleeping with Tally when he knows he should be trying to solve the murders and not getting closer to her again. Tally is still scared she might be a target of the killer and wonders why Cade disappeared after the night they shared. i really like this series. I have a lot of questions and i am wondering about how things are all connected. I look forward to reading more.
The story continues. "The quickest way for me to get the hell out of town was to join the army." Tally chose to stay in town.
"TR: You’re next" was written on the note found on the third victim. The next murder wasn’t going to be Tally, no matter what some note left at the scene of a crime said. "Uh oh, was I still in love with Tally? Had my feelings ever really disappeared?"
I received this series as an ARC for my honest opinion. I am glad I received the whole series at one time as each book in the series is very short. I wish it was written as one book as the recapping as you start each book was a bit boring. The story itself was quite good and the romance and suspense kept me highly entertained. I would recommend if you like quick short stories.
Very short episode. I actually found it hard to get back into the storyline with this book. Then the action seemed to ramp up quickly, with gaps in between, until it came to a very unexpected and abrupt cliffhanger ending. I received this book as an arc and this review is entirely voluntary.
The instalment begins on tenterhooks and gets even better. Cade and Tally find themselves getting closer. They are still trying to figure out who the killer could be. No spoilers but he is closer than they think. Loved it again! Roll on part 4.
This book is so fast paced. I really can't read it fast enough! The dram with Cade and Tally is crazy. The death of a sister, joining the military, being injured and rekindling a romance with a secret gf!! THE DRAMA of it all. This is an intense joyri5!
