Cade (The Pursuit Series Book 2)

He thought they were destined to be together – until a tragedy tore them apart.

Cade swore he’d never return to his backwater hometown. Ever since his sister was murdered and his relationship with Tally fell apart, there were too many painful memories there to face.

But with a badly-timed knee injury putting him out of combat duty, he’s left with no choice but to go crawling back and face his demons.

Tally wrestles with the guilt of her best friend’s death. If only she had been there, instead of sneaking off to indulge her hidden romance with Cade, then she might not have died.

But now Cade is back in town, and the sight of him brings back a flood of emotions that she thought she’d long-since buried.

When the murders return right as Cade steps back into her life, the pair are drawn into a hair-raising search to find the killer and uncover the truth behind what happened all those years ago – and along the way, they must fight the simmering attraction that threatens to reignite the spark they used to share.

With the paranoia mounting and the killer drawing ever-closer, it seems like the past is returning to haunt them. With time running out, can Cade and Tally catch the culprit and realize the love between them that never died? Or will their shot at a second chance end in tragedy once again?

Filled to the brim with wild emotions, mystery, and a dash of thrilling suspense, The Pursuit Series is a gripping romance saga that is perfect for fans of second chance love. Scroll up and grab your copy now!

i read this book as part of an arc program. This is the second part to the Cade series. In this book, Cade and Tally have reconnected when Cade finds Tally in a local bar being harassed. Cade offers to walk Tally home and she is too scared not to accept. When they reach Tally's house, the talk about the murders and how they are connected with Cade's sister. Cade and Tally also realize they still have feelings for each other and are still attracted to each other. I am liking this series so far. I think there are a lot of questions about how things are connected and why the killer waited years. I wonder if they know the killer and i am curious as to how things are going to play out. I look forward to reading more.

I received this series complete box set as a gift and quite enjoyed it as a first time read!

The sexual tension was rife with Cade and Tally as their paths crossed again after five years.

The conflict of the guilt they shared as young loves with the brutal killing of Cade's twin Debs five years ago tore them apart but will working together to find the returned killer as the bodies pile up bring them back together or will Cade run again?

Why has the killer started killing again after Cade's return?

Lots of tension and angst in this series where the pacing cycle was a bit slow as the main concern was Cade and Tally's conflict with themselves through out the book but still page turning worthy. The plot twist was good and the conflict was resolved with both characters.

Lots of action. 5 years after Tally’s twin sister Debs was murdered, there is another murder - lots of similarities. Is there a serial murderer active? The police don’t take Tally seriously. A night out goes badly wrong. Cade appears on the scene unexpectedly and just in time. He takes her home, and they get distracted by breaking news… another murder! And a new and serious threat to Tally…
I received this book as an arc and this review is entirely voluntary.

Their story continues. Will this nightmare ever end?

They are starting to see that maybe Deb's death was done by a serial killer. If we work together, maybe we can solve this mystery together, while keeping our hearts in tact. But now it seems that someone is after Tally. Will Cade to able to save her?

I received this series as an ARC for my honest opinion. I am glad I received the whole series at one time as each book in the series is very short. I wish it was written as one book as the recapping as you start each book was a bit boring. The story itself was quite good and the romance and suspense kept me highly entertained. I would recommend if you like quick short stories.

This is a short but fab second instalment. Tally has a near miss and the plot thickens with regards to the murder of Debs, Cade’s twin sister and the recent copycat killing. The twists in this had me hooked. It ended on such a cliff hanger I am dying to read the next in the series!

This is a brilliant read.
Cade is back in his home town recovering from an injury but he doesn't want to be there. He left after his twin sister was murdered and he hasn't been back since.
Tally is shocked when she bumps into her ex at work five years after he left.
When another murder is committed will they be able to find out who it is before it happens again.
Tally and Cade get closer again but what happens when Tally is taken.
Will they be able to find her before she is the next victim.
A must read.
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.
